Raneh Water Falls - Tourist attraction in Dindori, India
Very good and vast water fall but you should visit this place in the monsoons season ...five different types of rocks are here formed millions of years ago by volcano .be cautious while travelling follow khajuraho to raneh water falls road as another road which is connected through main highway is not in good condition
The waterfalls were awesome, million years ago there was a volcano eruption at the location which caused a very deep hole. Overall very very awesome place.
This water fall is on Ken River. River falls at several places. There is small forest around and we could see Wildebeest, jackals, deers, langoors etc. The rocks are said to be made by volcanic eruption millions of years ago. Our guide Rajkumar was knowledgeable and explained nicely.
The Raneh Fall is a natural waterfall on the Ken River, located in Khajuraho in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Beautiful, clean and tidy place. We visited in the first week of October. If you have a car, you can reach the place in 30 mins. The road to the fall is not wide but it is smooth, mostly pothole free. At the main gate buy a ticket (Rs. 425). It includes a price (Rs. 125for a guide as well. My guide was a young local well-behaved lad. We paid him another 200 for his hospitality and good behaviour. There is a free parking spot at the falls, so you dont have to worry about parking your car. There is a small eatery that serves Maggie, Paratha, tea, water, etc. at a reasonable rate. The surroundings of the eatery are very clean. Try not to throw garbage here and there.
This place is completely mesmerising beauty. Do visit this place in monsoon. I visited in August. It is one of the grand canyon of Madhya pradesh very near to Khajuraho. Worth a visit. Its beautiful.
One of the largest and beautiful waterfall I have witnessed. This waterfall is only active in monsoon. There is a wildlife sanctuary over there but that remains close in monsoon as its the breeding season of animals. This fall is also known as Great Canyon of India.
Place is good and location is scenic, entry fee is rs 425/- in which u will get a guide.
Amazing view in Monsoons. Magnificent waterfall around canyon with different colourful rocks. If you have time, visit ken wildlife sanctuary and panna national park around it. You can see deers, fox and other wild animals if you are lucky.
Its absolutely an amazing place!!! You must visit...
Good Place to visit for relaxing during Monsoon Season
When visiting a waterfall, reaching as early as possible is recommended. This place opens around 6:30 so you can plan accordingly. We visited mid august, so the river Ken was full and covered most of this mini canyon, but please let the guide show you around. We met Sharwan bhaiya who told us about all the various rocks you can find there, the rock formations and more. Visit this waterfall in October if you wish to see more of the canyon. The water is a beautiful greenish colour then, i was told. But if you visit in monsoons, the waterfall is gigantic. There are so many streams, and the biggest ones you wont be able to see because of the shapes of the canyon. But you can see most of it. And its just stunning.
It is created in a volcano erupt before 5000 years. Amazing place.
Such a Soulful place where you may want to stay and just watch the beautiful nature for hours and on. And tend to forget the outside world while you absorb the soothing voices of birds, water falls and wind.
First time I saw any waterfall. This is most beautiful and scary place. this place have nature beauty like jungle, river and also it is a volcano site.
Beautiful and Really Vast Waterfall. Water roars through Volcanic rocks which looks amazing. A small canteen is also there and a few shades to sit and enjoy the grand scenery. Would be great if visited during monsoon.
Nice place to visit in rainy season
Today I visited raneh fallIt is just 19 km far from Khajuraho in dist Chhatarpur MPAwesome place for chillVery special placeIt is famous for Water falls and GharyalMust visitIt is chargeable ♥️
A very unique waterfall created out of a volcanic eruption some million years ago. Taking a guide is mandatory here and he will show you the different types of volcanic rocks that can be found here. Early morning or evening will be the best time to visit it. We visited in July and it contained enough water but not so much so that we were able to see rocks as well. If you are going in Aug-Sep, the water level will be much higher but most of rocks will be submerged under water. So choose the right time as per your preference.Ken gharial sanctuary is located adjacent to it and both have a common ticket.
Its place have 5 types of rocks ,,Granite rocks
Beauty of nature at its peak, 5 different types of rocks are found with different colours, the guide will give you all data about the rocks, falls, river. He will also take you to a little track where you might be able to see some wildlife.I spotted vulture there. Gharials can also be seen if you visit in right season.
Scenic valleys and picturesque spots make Raneh falls a must visit tourist destination in Khajuraho.
Good place to visit. Best time to came in monsoon, only then you can see fall. It is safe for kids as mny guards are there for our safety. Entry fee is there. Canteen is available. Food quality is also okay. Overall a good and fun visit you will get there.
It is a canyon, not so popular but it is worth to visit. You get to see different rocks after monsoon season. One can easily spend 1 to 1.5 hours on this spot. Charges I paid was Rs 425/- per car that includes guide charges.Ample parking space. In case you are coming from Panna then last 5 to 7 km road is very bad or rather I should say there is no road at all. Only SUV car would be okay to drive , if you are using non SUV then come from Khajuraho to Raneh water fall.(Dec21).Overall I will recommed must visit to Raneh water fall.
Underrated Grand Canyon and Small forest with plenty of Herbivorous animals. The Canyon is amazing with 5 colored rock formations and water bodies. Crocodile Sanctuary near by. All in all a very wonderful and worthwhile trip 30 min out from Khajuraho
Beautiful waterfall to visit, I personally think this place is beautiful during non-rainy season since you get to see beautiful cliffs and the colorful rock formations with some waterfalls.
Must visit place water fall is amazing... if you go that place you will feel like you have came to Mars or any other planet, geography is amazing.. visit month- Nov. To Feb. And July- Aug. Do not visit in hot season you will get grilled..
It is a beautiful natural place. No changes done. It is in natural form of its own. Path is danger in rainy reason but you will never forget its breathtaking view . You will love its peacefulness, its mesmerizing view. Guide is available. This is not well maintained yet. So healthwise you take care of your self. This place is for natural lovers.
The fall is unique and pleasing. There is also Ken ghariyal sanctuary situated at the end. One can see Ghariyals sun bathing during winters. One can see animals like spotted deers, nielguy, wild boar etc.
Best place to visit in monsoons with family. Quite environment with nature and natural beauty all around.Awesome place. One must visit
One of the finest waterfall of madhya pradesh.16kms from khajurahoFee: 600 entry fee for car +75 for guide which is compulsory. You can opt for walk but it is 3kms.Best season for waterfall is monsoon. But 4-5 days of continuous rain will overflow the waterfall.Water is also muddy yelloish. All the guides are local people recruited by forest department. Our guide was mr. Sahu ,very good man. .He collected 5 different stones of canyon. As described by mr sahu it is 40mtr. deep.In peak season there are all over multiple waterfalls. You can see 5 colors stones in canyon.
One of the most beautiful waterfalls of Madhya Pradesh, best time to visit here is during Monsoon near starting of August because then only you will find waterfall here else its empty.Very beautiful canyons with 5 different varieties of rocks which includes granite, basalt, quartz etc.Entry ticket of it before 4 kms is 600 for a car and guide is compulsory included at ₹75 here. But it is worth going. Its has 3 spots from where you can watch for waterfalls.Donot miss visiting Benisagar Dam while returning from here which is 6kms from its way.
Raneh water falls is a natural falls on the river Ken in Panna National Park. This falls has created deep canyons with dazzling crystalline granite with amazing colours. The falls are in full glory after monsoon. In other seasons, it is a delight to watch the colours of rocks of canyons.
A hidden gem in Madhya Pradesh.Note: If you are travelling from panna, after taking the turn, there is a 4km strech which has really bad road. Suitable for 4x4sThe falls are amazing. You must visit twice and year to actually see the place. Once during the rainy season to see the fall and once during December to see tha great canyon. The canyon is really beautiful with 5 different types of rocks. The places was a volcanic site thousands of years ago.Although the road is not that good, but the place is completely worth it.
Best site in chhattrpur... the Grand canian of India.. 700 total ticket including car charges with 100 rupee guide fee.
Raneh water fall. In dry season you can see the rock formation of canyon. Very less chances of seeing Ghariyaal from here. You can definitely like this place for sure.
Absolutely stunning. The best part of my trip to khajuraho was Raneh water falls. Just 45 minutes away from khajuraho main town. Can be reached by all sort of vehicles. Dont miss this marvellous place if youre planning to visit khajuraho.
Raneh Falls on the ken river are famous for their rock formations. The main attraction is a 5kms long, and 100 ft deep canyon made of pure crystalline granite in various shades of colors ranging pink and red to grey. A series of seasonal waterfalls surrounded by jungles make it an ideal picnic spot.
This is an oft explored place by tourists...Mind you, theres an entry fee to this place, which is around 500 Rs.River ken flows through here and the scenes are picturesque enough to set up your camera.Car hiring is available at the entrance of this place. This place is not so far from Khajuraho temples and should be included in the places to visit.Historic rocks, river, flora and fauna are there to delight you
Inspiring experience watching the ken river taking the canyon route, forming series of cascaded waterfalls over five different types of rocks. Not necessary to take a guide here, one can walk this 10 min well marked route with viewing points.Do take a 100₹ guide service for the park, takes about an hour to tour that.
Raneh Falls is one of the prominent tourist attractions, which is named after King Rane Pratap, the erstwhile ruler of the region. The falls are mostly created during monsoon season and during the dry summer and winter months, the canyons are clearly visible. One can catch spectacular views of the Ken River flowing through the canyons which have been created millions of years ago from molten lava erupted from volcanic activities. There are many Ghariyals (Gavialsin the Ken river and later one can also visit the Ken Ghariyal Sanctuary with the same entrance ticket.Raneh Falls is Situated in close vicinity of the destination, the waterfall emerged at the confluence of Ken and Khuddar rivers.
A large site made up of Ignite rocks(dut to volcano activity). There are 5 different type of rocks out of which Red and black rocks are very prominant.During rainy season Jul to sep water flow in Ken river is very high so you get a magnificant view of multiple falls which are muddy..but looks very good.Alligator sanctuary is one more visiting point which is closed during rainy days.
While the Khajuraho temples are a highlight, the Raneh Water Falls is a "not to be missed" place to visit while in Khajuraho. 20 of km from the centre, this place is one more of natures unfathomable creations. The river Ken or in Hindi, Karnavati flows through the gorge formed by volcanic rocks that are a composition of Granite, Jaspar, Dolomite, Basalt and Quartz. This place is also compared to the grand canyon of the West.Bring dry in the non-monsoon months one can see the depth & rock formations while in the monsoons, its said that one can hear the falls gushing from 10 km away! Other than the falls, the gated area is also a sanctuary that is home to deers, sambhars, wild boars, langoors, Neel gais (Blue Bulls& birds. If lucky, crocodiles & alligators too can be spotted lounging on the banks of the Ken.The entrance to the park is ticketed & can only be toured accompanied by an official tour guide. The guide charge is ₹100/- & vehicle charge is ₹600/- that can carry upto 6 people. It takes approximately 2 hours on the higher side to cover the place. A definite recommend.
Amazing scenery! Ken River Falls in multiple ways in a 5 km long & 30 meter deep canyon. In monsoon flow & amount of water is tremendously high. The canyon has been formed by volcanic action may be five lacs year ago. Rocks here are of many colours & textures such as granite, dolomite, basalt & quartz.Entry ticket & guide charges are high. Afternoons are hot therefore take care.Jungle around the place is beautiful. Crocodile/ Gharial Sanctuary is nearby & can be visited same day. Sanctuary opens from October to April.A small restaurant is available there.
Nature unfolds here to the extreme. Its beautiful and amazing to watch the rocks as I visited this in off season. This is actually a mini Grand Canyon of India. If youre in Khajuraho this place is 20kms away, Do visit it. And if you wanna see Niagara Falls of India then visit here in Monsoon season.
Its the place you go to expecting a water fall but end up seeing only rock gorges. Raneh falls has water only in June July and September and if youre lucky in October. Otherwise you get to see only the rocky gorges and pools of water. The view point ahead has good views though.
Superb place to hike and calm yourself in nature..Your own vehicle allowed inside the jungle600 rs charges - 75 rs guide charge - recommended to use one as he will know all part of the jungle.Restaurant available at the start - maybe you can use while returning.Water, chips tea and all are available - one shop only which is good.Ken Ghariyal/Crocodile Sanctuary insideRane Fall inside - Best time to visit is July Aug Sept as you can see waterfalls.Nature trail - canopy wall insideDeers, hayena, Neel Gai, Jackals, wild boars can be seen but no Tigers here....
Locals will not tell you that going inside is very expensive. Auto fees is 475. Car fees is 675. In winters nothing much to see inside. May be in rainy season you can see waterfalls.
The Ken River forms a 5 kilometres (3.1 milong, and 30 metres (98 ftdeep canyon made of pure crystalline granite in varying shades of colours ranging from pink and red to grey. There is a series of waterfalls in the canyon. The larger and smaller falls run all through the year. Other seasonal falls appear during monsoons.
