Lakefront park for boating, fishing & picnicking, plus sand volleyball, horseshoes & a playground.
Beck & I loved having lunch by the water. It was beautiful and so peaceful!
Great outdoor area with slides and swings along with access to a small beach area.
Good park, nice view. Its well maintained park. They also arrange marriages here. Good for kids, there is a kid play area with swings, slides and roller coaster (small). Good for fishing and boating. There is a small artificial beach, its good for attract kids, they can swim easily. Nice place to take beautiful pictures. This is a beautiful spot. All kinds of activities for adults and a nice playground for kids. Weekends are usually busy but weekdays are not too
There are public restrooms available and hiking trails through the woods. A dock extends out into the lake for great views. There is a good size beach that is open seasonally. It was not open when I visited in early October. Plenty of picnic tables and a large childrens playground as well. Park Rangers also watch the area.
Tried to go to the swimming part and it was gated and closed off. Like, do they really think they are the only ones on lake Norman you can swimm at? Really? Anyways, the people at the park were friendly . The ones I ran across at least were. Its probably just the town commissioners and what not with all of the gestapo rules and regulations who decided to put up a gate in front of the swimming area. I picked up a boatload of trash.
Went to the Charlotte Dragonboat and Asian festival at the park. Awesome! Many Asian countries represented. Was not expecting to see the FBI there recruiting. Beautiful colors, loved the parade and the dragonboat races were fun!
Great place to spent time on the weekend. Boat launch has restrooms and nice amenities. While visiting, we ran into a few race coordinators of the Charlotte Dragon Boat Assoc., Mylene, Angela and Wendy.
Excellent park on lakeside with beach(was closedand plenty of picnic tables and bbq grills. Well maintained playgroung for kids with zipline. Nice place to have some great time with family and kids. Restrooms also available and were clean and tidy.
This was a great outing, lots of people and lots of excitement for kids. The beach is cool, small, but the view and atmosphere were really good. A nice place for a picnic. The trail could probably use better markings, but we still had fun.
Good small beach and life vests available for babies. Bathrooms and shower area reasonably cleanish. Park itself is very small though not much wandering space. Paid in August 2022 parking $10/car
Beach is clean and bathrooms are decent, but not great. They put rocks down under the water, rather than just sand, making it pretty impossible to walk in the water.
I visited this park for the first time and I was impressed they have a nice beach where people can swim. This area is limited in the water so you cant swim further of that line. This park is well equipped, there are a lot of benches and places for BBQ. Also theres a bridge where you can take a sit or have fishing. There a nice childrens playground with swings and slides. If you feel hot you can buy an icecream closer to the beach.
Pulled up and paid $10 to go to the beach with my dog. Was asked if I even was going to the beach with my dog at the paying area. Just to get inside and be told my dog was not allowed at all by the beach. She was on leash and everything but was told to go by the benches, no where near the water. After going back up to the pay area and was told that “yes she can go to the beach as long as she was on leash but not into the water” I was fine with that. But how come I’m being told different by the lifeguards running the beach?Lastly I was told that there is nothing that can be done because they cannot issue refunds. I was told “that’s weird” at the end of the day and left with no resolution.I drove 30 plus minutes to come here and not able to even get into the water myself.Asked if there can be official rules listed somewhere on website because I didn’t see any rules saying dogs were not allowed on the beach at all.
The lake, boating, fishing, and nearby park are fantastic. Theres a Zipline, really large slides, swings. Its surrounded by forests and has some nice picnic areas and grills. The beach on the other hand is quite small and not very deep. The life guards are pretty restrictive and you can barely get up to your knees.
This used to be such a nice, relaxing park to visit. I was disappointed to pay $10 to enter a park that my tax dollars pay to maintain and see a bunch of employees standing or sitting around doing nothing! The beach area is full of hard rocks that hurt your feet to walk on. The "swimming"area is barely knee deep and packed full of people, so I can only imagine what the water quality is...The slides are unsafe! I actually had to help my child down one and it was extremely hot and cramped inside since it is a tall tube. If a child got stuck in there for too long in the summer, it could be catastrophic. This park should have never changed from what it was..."if it aint broke, dont fix it!"
Its very kid friendly because theres a nice playground, life guards and the creek can only get at least 2 feet deep. Theres a rope restricting how far you can get in the water. Its a wading pool for me (54).
It’s a cute option for little ones to cool off and sit down like a bath, I have to mention the rocks that were added were extremely uncomfortable and made it impossible to enjoy the already small area. My child came home with cuts because of this, Not really sure how they would expect children or people to enjoy this when everyone is visually walking on eggshells.
We didnt know it was $10 to get in. I wanted to just drive through to show my daughter where I grew up going to during my summers. We were in the area for another event. When we arrived we saw was a sign saying we had to pay. She looked it up and it said it was $3 per person on the website, which apparently was not up-to-date, so we paid $10 for 30 minutes. The beach was a nice addition since I was a kid. It was crowded, but I would have gotten in if it were a planned trip. I like the addition of the playground and picnic areas.
Perfect place for everyone, playground, Zipline, paddle board launch and swimming beach! Clean bathrooms and lots of shade off the beach with plenty of picnic tables.
Good place to spend half a day here. Good for kids as well.
The place was really nice the playground was good. But the beach is actually soooo small and plus the beach is for everyone but the water goes up to the ankle it was crowded in the water but I told my husband this beach should be only for little kids only because adults really cant swim we can sit down with our kids only. The water was not clear.
Nice spot but wasnt what I was looking for. They have a beautiful playground zip lines included plus a dog park. They have a little swimming area which is only 18 inches deep and about 20 feet long.. No drinking, smoking, or floodies allowed. If you are looking for a family friendly shallow swimming area this is your go to!
Lovely place designed for young children to swim in roped off area with life guards. Just know you may have to walk from parking areas and it can be quite a haul. Bring a wagon if you have one and lots to carry! Awesome park for the kids to play at as well!
Really disappointed with my experience today! Drove 40 minutes to go to the public beach. Paid $10 to have to park far away and walk while carrying a heavy beach umbrella and bags only to be denied entry due to lightening 10 miles away! Didnt even get to step foot onto the beach when they closed it. An hour after waiting for it to open, and not even a drop of rain, I was told it would be at least another 2.5 hours before they would be reopening! The guys on the beach didnt even have enough common sense to notify crowds of waiting people theyd have to wait 3.5 hours for the area to open back up and it was only upon asking I was told of the wait time! Then I was refused a refund due to a no refund policy despite the service I paid for was not provided! Very disappointed!
Water water every where. Yes, it has an endless view of water. We enjoyed a lot here alhamdulillah. Park is great for kids too. People come here and can spend time 2-3 hours easily. Great place for fishing too.
Super awesome dog park! very spacious and the owners and dogs are all very friendly! they have a gated area inside the park for little dogs to play with each other! Including benches and they also have a water sprayer and giant buckets for the dogs to either play with or drink from! The atmosphere is great and it recommend for any dog lovers with or without a dog!
The park costed $10 to enter. The entire beach is small painful little pebbles like round gravel that just gets more dense as you go in the water, terrible cruel joke of a beach. The playground is geared towards kids probably age 10+ it is a 3 story slide tower that requires scaling webs to get all the way to the top, a few little kid swings, and a zip line swing.
This not a place to swim. If u have babies yes but for kids and adults who can will be very disappointed. They have multiple life guards which I dont understand because u can literally lay on your stomach in the "deep end"... My hotel pool was deeper which was five feet.
Its a nice park for family with kids. It has a kid playground, a little zipline, little pier, and a small (really smallfenced beach with guards on duty (the weekend I dont know during week days). Unfortunately for safety reason we cannot enter the water at an other spot other than the small fenced beach, which is 3 feet deep, where you cant swim in it. So its good for young kids but not for teenagers or adults.
Great place to visit, nice park for the kids, food has to be cooked, no cooking on premises.
The have nice playgrounds for kids and a small zip line swing for kids which is neat. The swimming area is small and only goes about 3 feet deep. Its good for smaller children but not so much for adults.
Wow lots of people here today. I drove in to check it out. Im not local and wanted to see what the area has to offer. Park would be a great place to spend the day with the kids and bring a picnic. You will want to bring chairs and cooler. The place was packed no parking spots left but I still could see several tables and grills available. The lake is beautiful with nice clear water and Sandy shoreline, plenty of places to get in the shade. I saw a boat ramp and several people with kayaks and paddle boards. Also have public restrooms. What I didnt like... There is swimming allowed only in one small fenced area not any bigger than a public pool. I dont understand why I have never heard of anything like this in any park I have visited before. But if you dont care about that. You will enjoy it.
Super clean, shallow and great for children of all ages.
Ramsey Creek Park is one of them park best Park ever visit
Sunsets are gorgeous! Dont miss the covered pier, beach and lakeside trails. Lots of families, especially on the weekends.
I think this park has a lot to offer and the views of Lake Norman are awesome! We have noticed many people having a picnic. The beach area is incredibly tiny. They really should consider expanding it. There is also a really sweet playground for the kids. I think I noticed a zip line. There is also a place where people are launching boats & jet ski’s into the water.Go for a walk into the wooded area nearby the parking lot nearest to the beach, there’s a sweet little trail. Check out Ramsey Creek Park the next time you are in the area.
Peaceful..!! I like this location so much. I dont know if they will start charging entry fees (saw the board:(
This is a beautiful spot. All kinds of activities for adults and a nice playground for kids. Weekends are usually busy but weekdays are not too crowded. My husband did a pontoon rental once and we plan on going again for entire day. There is also a separate picnic area when you enter. I believe you have to do reservations for the shelters there.Water entrance is not allowed anywhere. I saw a lot of spots with bbq stands and tables which is awesome. Bathrooms were nice and clean.Definitely recommended.
Quiet across from Jetton park. Great place to grill in the shade in summer months. Also great beach access for swimming. Always a little breezy but on the hot days it makes it nice. Bathrooms and lots of parking.
Great place to spend time with family and friends.. a nice park for kids and can spend whole day during a good weather..
Beautiful scenery but the rocks in the water made the visit a short one plus they didn’t have the trash and bees together. I’m not just saying regular bees, no swarms of them.
Very nice park. The beach is perfect for little ones who love to get wet. They had three lifeguards which is plus. Overall pretty clean. The zip line at the playground added extra fun for my little one.
Entrance fees $15 per car for other than residence of Mecklenburg County. Nice and neat beach with pebbles.. Kids safe.. Depth might be around 2 feet. Beautiful seanic view of lake. Nice breeze with tree shades.. Kids play area with swing, slides and zip line.Nice place to spend time with family and friends.
Its tiny and $15 per car for out of state, I think might have been $10 for in state but depends on what county you live in (the guard asked which county we live in). Tried to stretch it out to get our moneys worth but ultimately left within an hour after having walked the whole grounds and not going in the "beach" (about the size of a basketball court), which opens later than the rest of the grounds, see photos. Cannot for the life of me understand how this has so many positive reviews. People must be severely deprived or have been driven crazy by their kids if they rate this a 5 star place for $15, or maybe its free if you live in the right county
I love this beach. Its $15 to get in because were out of state but well worth it. There is police and security present. They direct you for parking. Although the beach area was small it was really nice. Were going to go back when we visit Charlotte again. Its close to Charlotte and there are stores and places to eat near tge beach. Awesome Time
Love this place. Great views, the water was relaxing and the people I ran into were all very nice. Will be back !
Had an amazing time with friends and family. Celebrating my grandsons first birthday was awesome , our friends and family had a very blessed day. Thanks you to this amazing place.
Ramsey Creek park is lovely. The view of lake Norman and plentiful, spread out park benches make enjoying nature both pleasurable and socially distant. You can usually see ducks in the water and find people fishing off the docks. It’s a nice place to have a cookout since they do have grills. There are a few pavilions and plenty of shade from the trees. The facilities are generally clean. I didn’t award 5 stars because I only wish it had more trails or a longer, single trail. All in all Ramsey Creek park is a real treat.
Became one of my favorites. First time I went by myself on a weekday and it was so peaceful then came back with my kids on Memorial Day. My kids enjoyed it to the fullest. Such a fun day and the park is clean, security is around making sure everything is alright. Definitely coming back! They have like 6 bathrooms with diaper change table which is good especially on the weekends so we didn’t have to wait.
