Ralph's Tavern in Cohoes

It was the worst experience in a long time ,the food was cold,hard looked like it was sitting out for a long time very disappointed. Will never eat there again.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would . Food was cold and dry . Consider spending 60 dollars for cold food and fruit flies for your family if you want that

Iykyk • Ralph’s is the best place around!! There’s no other place to go than Ralph’s! My favorite is their dessert menu, and the chicken francese!

Were new to the area, but have driven by Ralphs a few times and it always looked busy. We decided to check it out.Coming in,the smell and decor reminded us of one of favorite hole-in-the-wall places in Brooklyn. We were really looking forward to a great meal.Stuffed mushrooms were great. Other dishes, not so much. Chicken francaise was buried in some sort of white sauce. Meatballs and chicken parm, I was told were simply "not good." Clams with red sauce was drown in pasta water. I dont think the pasta was drained at all before being plated. Where was the sauce? Where was the flavor?If this is what passes for Italian American food in Albany, I think we may have to move back to Brooklyn.Portions are large, but not good. Service was very good. Stars are for atmosphere and service.

Ordered steak torpedo and open faced meatball sandwich. Both were excellent! Food is always great at Ralphs

My roast beef sandwich was nothing like the description on the menu. Was supposed to have bacon, and on rye but was not. Came with mac salad with over done pasta.

The wings are to die for. The only thing better than the food is the service. Service has been horrible since COVID but this place is a breath of fresh air.

We like to sit at a pub table in the bar, sip a beer and order pizza on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The pizza is outstanding.

Great atmosphere, food. Ralphs offers creative daily specials including homemade soups. The Eggplant parm is delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive.

If they had one seat left in the house and it was on the roof Id take it because the food is that good.

We ordered a pizza with extra cheese there was hardly any cheese, it was over cooked and the price on the phone was different when I got there. Highly disappointed because it was one of our favorites.

Went to Ralphs for a family get together. Food was excellent and service was prompt in a friendly atmosphere. We had a great time, 10 different menu items and all were delicious and presented attractively. Special thanks to our waitress Shannon who was above and beyond. Great dining experience.

Ordered pretzels with cheese for appetizer- cheese was very bland. Literally just cheez wiz. Husband ordered the steak, it was very dry- not juicy at all. I ordered the fish fry and it was so thin, that it was just fried breading. There didnt seem to be any fish in it at all. Our food was really horrible. People next to us ordered a pizza, and that looked good- so maybe its best to just order pizza there? We spent almost 70.00, so we definitely wont be back. Too many great restaurants out there, that weve never experienced anything bad from.

I ordered the scallops... what I got is best described as "scallop sausage" chunks that had a horrible texture and off-putting taste. I dont think they had gone bad, they just were... bad. And full of the ligaments that is usually trimmed off of the side of the scallop and discarded. Ate two before I figured out what was so wrong with them (the first one, I assumed was just horribly overcooked), threw out the rest.Maybe if you order and eat this at the restaurant theyll use real scallops?

Cavatelli with red clam sauce:Pasta was overcooked, sauce was very watery and bland and clams were like rubber. Second time and I will not order again.

Had pizza and wings to go, wings were dry, pizza awful, crust was awful, not really tasting like pizza crust, hardly any cheese, not much pepperoni and the sausage in crumbled pieces, really tacky, last time we had pizza ,not impressed then, but, we gave it another shot, no more, almost 40.00 for 10 wings and pizza that wasnt good

Party of 4, everyone was quite pleased with their appetizers and entres. One thought that the salad dressing on their antipasta should have been a little less! There was an over abundance of dressing. Other than that, everything was fine, service was excellent!

Enjoyed a delicious dinner tonight . Food was excellent , great portions , great value , staff was super friendly and very attentive . We will definitely be back soon.

Worked there a couple of months. Would not recommend working there. The owner and the kitchen manager regularly made fun of customers behind their backs. Unfortunate behavior glad I don’t work there anymore.

Great local Mom n Pop Italian Restaurant that serves very good food in a fun n rustic atmosphere. Employees are great!!

I ordered a hot turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy… not what I expected!! White bread was stale and the turkey was deli meat…..very disappointing. Won’t go back.

Food is good, but do not order take out.I ordered a bowl of soup, small Caesar salad and grilled chicken.The size of the to go salad is tiny, please see the picture for $22 total, I would expect a larger to go container for romaine lettuce, please.

We had their pepperoni and hot sausage pizza tonight and it was delicious! Just the right amount of everything on it, and the crust was wonderful!

We made a reservation here for Fri5/21/22 5pm. The occasion was to honor our Aunt Audrey, the matriarch of Farrell & White families. We had a party of 13. The main reason for this review is the excellent service we had from the the veteran waitress, Charlene. Different drinks, dinner choices, and some separate checks all where handled with complete competence, professionalism, and a genuine smile throughout our visit. Tommy and Choi were also jumping in when needed.Ralphs is a long time neighborhood favorite. As of Jan 1, 2022 there are new owners-one a long time staffer and the other a new to Ralphs but with a long career in the restaurant biz.Food is consistently very good with new items appearing as specials. Emphasis on Italian-American fare but certainly a variety of items to appeal to all. Always famous for their chicken wings, pizzas, the unique mozzarella sticks w/ Melba sauce, and six choices of hot sandwich torpedos.Full service bar, draft beers, and many new wine choice. Wine Wednesdays - 1/2 price on bottles.Family friendly and plenty of parking.Hours are 11am-12am Mon-Thu, 11am-1am Fri & Sat, Sun 12pm-1130pm.Again family friendly, can handle larger groups w/ reservations, value priced food & drinks, takeout, delivery, & catering, convenient, & neighborhood friendly.Thank you to all the staff. We were in town to pick up my sons car and stopped in to eat. Food was delicious waitress and bartender were very pleasant. Next time we are out that way, we will be back for more! The french dip sandwich and the California roast beef sandwich were out of this world!!

I have been ordering from Ralph’s all through covid and have eaten there for at least 15 years. Today I picked up a to go order. My salad and blue dressing dressing and bread was not included in the bag. I ordered a spaghetti dinner and that is included in it. My son ordered crispy wings the wings were soggy. After coming all the way home and going all the way back there they would not give me the food because I forgot to bring the wings back. They never gave me my salad or bread which I had already paid for. Not a very good practice for a loyal customer.

We really enjoyed our visit to Ralphs Tavern this evening. We were greated in a very friendly way, they made us feel like family.I had chicken parm, very good old school with chicken pounded thin and fried with a nice crispy crust.My wife enjoyed the ravioli with a nice fresh tasting tomato sauce.

I read a list in yesterdays paper claiming Ralphs Tavern is #2 for pizza in Albany. So i tried the chicken parm hoagie... canceled my plans to move back to Jersey! Delicious sauce, overstuffed with juicy homemade chicken breast, fresh bread, darn good mozzarella. Finally i found good Italian food in Albany! Try RALPHS TAVERN NOW!

Food is absolutely AMAZING. If you have not been to Ralphs you are seriously missing out on some of the best food youve ever had. Best wings in the area and I have literally tried them all. Big statement I know, but Ralphs will back it up! Very friendly staff as well.

I’m batting zero when ordering from Delivery Apps.. it seems these restaurants don’t care about quality if they don’t have to face a customer. Ralph’s Tavern is no exception. Pushing poor quality food out the door to delivery customers, missing items and not following instructions. Who gives a side of pasta with no sauce or seasoning of any type? Just cooked and drained pasta!! Yeah thanks for the bread with my pasta, I’ll be sure to dip that in the dry cooked pasta. And where are my stuffed mushrooms?!

I ordered for take out and I’m so upset. This fettuccine Alfredo has absolutely no freaking flavor!!!It just taste like wet noodles. Highly disappointed. Never going here again if you’re thinking about ordering this pasta please think again. Don’t even get me started on this so called salad. Not even a tomato in sight. Just iceberg lettuce.

Susie our waitress in bar seating was superb/ awesome. Butternut squash soup yummy, pickles addictive, Husband really liked the meatball sub/torpedo

I ordered from this restaurant for the first time. The linguine and white clam sauce was one of the worst meals I’ve had in the past few years. It tasted like the linguini was cooked in butter sauce with no salt, garlic or white wine. I would suggest a refresher course in that particular dish, or take it off the menu. I had another pasta with marinara sauce, and fried calamari, both which were decent.

I’d give them -5 if I could. I have been a customer of Ralph’s for 30 years. I placed a take out for my birthday for the prime rib. It was awful. Overcooked, excessively salty, and tough. When I called to tell them this, they insisted the food was picked up late and that’s why if was overcooked. At least, they admitted it was overcooked. I told them it was picked up on time then I was put on hold then disconnected. This restaurant has really declined. I will not order from there again.

Excellent food! Excellent service, absolutely love this place! Never a disappointment. There house made Cesar Dressing is delicious. Steak, perfect! And chicken parm, best we have ever had. Our favorite place!

I,as well as my whole party, was very pleased with everything : the service, the food and especially the waitress. She was very kind, courteous and prompt.The cost per person varied as I was paying because we had just come from services at the cemetery.

I decided to have wings for dinner. I kept hearing about this spot Ralphs and how they have good wings...well I beg to differ. I ordered lemon pepper crispy and medium, when I say those wings was so hard and dried out. Im so disappointed and for the price they charged so not worth it.. Ralphs get a thumbs down from me.

Ive been twice and its been very good each time. They are very friendly and quick. The soups was good and the homemade break was amazing. I love the homemade chicken parm as well. I thought the prices were reasonable and really enjoyed my meal. The homemade mozzarella sticks are a must!

Placed a to go order,for 2 pasta dinners...Came with a side salad.... The lettuce is brown and pasta taste like water absolutely horrible.....

We finished some and combined the garlic bread with mozz and tomato on the same plate as the potato skins to make room. Both were excellent, cooked perfectly with amazing texture (potato soft, skin crispy. Bread crisp, cheese and tomato fresh).I ordered the steak torpedo and fries abs enjoyed the flavor of both so much that I didnt add ketchup or anything (though I salted the torpedo slightly).My wife got the chicken fricassee and enjoyed the flavor quite a bit. I gave 5 stars because 4.5 isnt an option. I was a little disappointed that the potato skins had a canned type cheese, it was actually pretty good however considering.Over all I highly recommend Ralphs.

Nice local place. Sat at the bar.....solid drinks...bartender was really good. Food was good...meat sauce with cavatelli....big portion and hot. Would frequent if I lived in Albany.

Great local place. They make you feel right at home. Loved the meatball sandwich. My waitress even modified my order when I said i wanted to try the spicy sausage. The chef salad was plenty large enough to share and my husbands pizza was yummy. Would recommend this place highly.

We were tired of the chain Italian restaurants so we tried Ralphs Tavern. Courteous staff, our food arrived at the table quickly, and best of all, it was delicious. I had the lasagna with meat and my wife had the chicken sorrento. The price was great too. I expected Tony Soprano to walk in and sit at a table at any moment. I highly recommend this restaurant if youre looking for great Italian food.

I was in town on a business trip and wanted to try a local place to eat. I decided to go because the prime rib sounded good. I ate at the bar and was treated like family. The meatball soup was outstanding. I really like the end cut and was happy to get one. Part through the meal I was brought extra au jus without asking, a very nice touch. Ill surely make this a regular stop when Im in town.
