Railroad museum featuring model trains, railroad artifacts, a locomotive simulator & more.
Beautiful place showing the history of Railroads in Florida. Good place to visit with friends and family. Good place for kids too.
It has a model train layout, artifacs from old train buildings, and a train driving simulator!
Great place for kids of most ages. Train is only running on Saturday and Sunday for now. Not sure about the rest of the extras.
An amazing gem in Lee County. Interesting memorabilia and then ride the miniature train! Fun for all ages
The cutest lil museum ever. The locomotive simulator with a real vintage console was worth the trip.
Lots of fun and alot of great historical facts about the railway here in FT Myers
Great omelets and pancakes. Service sucks like every restaurant in the Ft. Myers / Naples area. No help.
The train was awesome for my almost 3 year old. It was hotter than hot when we went but the moving train cooled you off a bit. You can tell someone put a lot of thought into the little buildings and such. Ive heard this gets busy and our train was full, but we had no probs getting g tickets. $5 per adult. My kid was free. I imagine for the holidays its crazy and youd want to get tickets ahead.
Such a nice thing to do for a toddler. My son LOVES trains and had the best time with the miniature train ride and toy train exhibit.
fun for kids the train is beautigul the replicas of the town in the old days is a nice touch.
My 5 year old bd boy is still talking about this awesome museum and train ride. Highly suggest
Had a great time took my granddaughter to the splash pads playground and the had lunch on the patio
They had some very interesting artifacts and displays. The staff was very knowledgeable. Def worth the visit.
A very nice train museum ride a small train. Fun for any ages.
Love this park, parking $5 all day or $1 per hour, wild life, alligators, turtles, birds.Wed are farmers market days through April
Went during spring break. was a good museum. not anything too indulgent but, if even remotely into trains I say you stop by. Though i probably wouldn’t go again unless I had a reason to.
Situated in a park with a great 1/8 scale train ride
Great park. Enjoyed seeing the models and historical pieces. Great for whole family.
wow! This place was awesome!!! The people are so nice, the park is huge, cheap prices & the cutest train ride for kids.
Very friendly and informative staff. Train ride is cute! Only "negative" thing Id say is I wish the museum was bigger! Donate so they can add more! Probably the best thing we did on our trip.
We were pleasantly surprised with this little train. If you go to Lakes Park you have got to take the few minutes and a couple of dollars and take your children on this ride! The little villages , the scarecrows and even the alligator in the big lake were a lot of fun to look at.
Ok, like, wowie wow! I loved this place! The indoor museum is nice with its train going around the ceiling and a modest set of displays and running model trains, but the actual train ride is great! You can tell the volunteers who work here put significant time and love into this place. The train ride (on a mini train just big enough for you to barely sit ontakes you around the park to see little towns reminiscent of Southwest Floridas past. Theres also a playground out front that the kids really liked. Something else of interest was the train library that was in a side room. So many books to choose from (including a few I had at home which was neat). I would definitely visit this place if you are a model train enthusiast.
Lot of fun, bike and kayak rent here.
This place is awesome and the mini train is a hit with all the kids. They have a real sized train engine parked right outside of the kids park, very cool to take a close look at it and see the real size of the equipment (trains are huge and powerful machines! The kids love the mini train ride above all. During the holidays they decorate the track and the ride is themed to the holiday. Fun family event and a must try at least once. All aboard!
nice place. I was expecting to get in one of the 🚆 to take some pictures but it didnt happen. but besides that its a nice place to go with family, you can take your own food and enjoy your time. you also can rent a bicycle🚲🚴♀️. its beautiful😍.
Small but packed with an electric Railroad and tons of information boards. Very nice.
Such a cool place for kids! We rode the train and cant wait to do it again. The kids loved all the little town displays and even the museum was fun to see the train gardens. Awesome!
I love this place I definitely going to go back in and also take family and friends when they come
My son loved it! He loved seeing the train displays and train ride. Staff was friendly. Gift shop prices were reasonable. Definitely would recommend!
Daughter treated family for fathers day! Absolutely the best time ever! Scenic route with all the miniture displays was awesome, grandchildren, as well as, whole family enjoyed it!
This was a fantastic family day for me and my grandkids. So many fun and interesting things to see and do
The inside train display is still closed until mid June 2021....but the train ride is so worth it! Fun for all ages!
That was really fun! The train ride is better than expected, and the museum is full of cool train stuff. Theres even a snack bar to eat lunch at. I wish we had this park near me!
Great place for kids and yes, I enjoyed the train ride too. I found it relaxing. But this a great place to learn more about trains and experience the train.
What a wonderful place. Lovely museum with running model trains, literature, handouts, displays. Ride the train around lakes park, super fun! Would give this more than 5 stars!
Awesome for the kiddos. No pets allowed though. Beautiful area, always clean. 🤙
Just beautiful and so much to see and do! A huge train that once travel the East Coast a train museum Surrey bike rides and little boat rides in the lake. A nice gift shop and snack bar. Beautiful picnicking area bicycling and walking and a lovely little train ride throughout the grounds. The whole family will love it!
It is nice but it is very small. I wouldnt really call it much of a museum. However, it is nice to pop in for a minute just to check it out while you are at the park. Lakes Park itself is one of the best parks I have ever been to. If you arent there for the park, however, dont go expecting it to be a legit museum.
Our toddler loved watching the model trains go around. However it would have been nice to have just a small step so he could see better. His daddy and I got tired of holding him up to watch. But the park is nice. Wouldve been nice if we couldve rode the train too but the tracks were down because of mowers.
The museum is small but it’s very inexpensive. It’s only $5 dollars for adults and kids above 5 years old. Under five years old is free. The price includes a 15 minute ride on a mini train around the park. The museum is a part of the lakes park which offers many outdoor activities like walking, water bicycling, bike riding, wildlife viewing, picking, barbecuing, playing on the playgrounds, etc. This is why I gave it a five star rating because it one of the nicest parks I have ever been to. The railroad museum has different operating hours than the park. The park closes at dusk.
Enjoy a lot the ride on the little train and the magnificent views around the lakes. The little museum shows a lot of history about the railroad on the area. Splendid place!
This was a great stop for our kids....theyre younger but still had a blast!!! We rode the train, then saw turtles swimming in the large lake!!! The splash pad was a perfect finish to the trip!!! If youre looking for a place to just let your kids run definitely make this a stop!!!!
Loved the train ride!!!! The conductors were so nice! What a fun little treat! My one year old had a blast!
We took our son here since he LOVES trains and we had a great time. Watching the mini trains inside the museum go round and round and the details in each stop is just perfect. We were able to purchase him a little train as well. Then we took a 15 min train ride which was icing on the cake.
Lots and lots of fun for the kids. The train ride is awesome and the museum has a amazing display. Its a great place to get into the AC for a break while walking the trails. If you have a train fanatic in the family, this is a must see.
Kids loved it ... Very well done !
Its a lot of fun for kids especially on the holidays you can ride the train is awesome
This is such a fun place to visit. The train ride is fun for all ages. My kids love coming here. The little museum is pretty small but definitely entertaining for the little ones. My boys love see the train models.
So fun and the train ride is so neat. We loved this park. The volunteers who run it were wonderful. 4 year old nephew and 1 year old daughter loved it.Also the surrounding park is great. This would be a half day of fun for the whole family, especially those with young children.
Wooohooo this place was amazing, higley reccommend this place, it was so cool and alot of fun. Perfect for the family or even just a break. Its inside the park and what a enjoyment this was. I will return here every time I go back to Florida. The little trains that you ride on amd the museum that they have where you can use a lil train simulator its so neat and a learning experience as well. We went down here for vacation to a home we own in the cape and this will be a place I take them every time and will never get old. They drop you off at the end of the ride at a snack shop which is perfect. And the ride is like $3 its such a smart idea, you will not regret this decision.
