Radisson RED Portland Downtown in Portland
Description
Have been staying here quite a lot in the past month and 4 to 5 day stretches. Absolutely love the building in the rooms in the accommodations plus the staff is wonderful as well one of the night guys I like having a conversation with all the time. Some of the most comfortable beds Ive ever had in a hotel I dont even remember falling asleep in them every night. Not to mention you can get some pretty killer deals in Brookings so definitely check this place out if you see it on your list over other ones.
MoreExcellent hotel! Gorgeous and super clean rooms and the staff and so helpful and friendly :loved the atmosphere and the way our dog was given a bed and a bowl. The room was so cute! We had a great stay in Portland and would definitely stay here again!
MoreReally great new hotel in town. They even allow people in the workout area two at a time for 45 minutes each. Of course they need to have the mask. This hotel is very close to so much. Easy freeway access. The Portland Art Museum is not far. Make sure to go 2 days out of the week to the museum. They have split up some of the exhibit spaces for social distancing and they give you an hour each time :-)
MoreGreat hotel...Nolan was AMAZING! We had been traveling for days and were super tired he checked us in early and throughout my stay was great help...same with Jeremy...the rooms were cool. Wish they had a microwave...I will DEFINITELY stay here again
MoreVery clean rooms, love the different design! VERY good blackout window coverings, I slept great! My room was right outside the elevators and I heard no noise. Great location for PSU campus.
MoreThis hotel was hip and modern. Just a breath of fresh air comparatively speaking. Such a clean and refreshing experience. This hotel has Portland DNA written all over it. It should be part of any Portland experience as it is a perfect fit.
MoreBathroom sink was not working property . Could not wash hands unless you used shower. Same room we stayed in a a year ago and had not been fixed. a duplex outlet plate fell off the wall because they didnt secure it with a screw. The room lighting was horrible. About 1/3 of the room had no lighting, and you couldnt see in the closet to see your clothes or coffee machine to make coffee. Room lighting was horrible. There was no drawers to put your clothes in so you put them in the floor and or leave them in your suitcase. However, the staff was very polite and nice. I would hope other rooms are better .
MorePros: Modern and clean rooms with a nice view of the city, super friendly staff, pet friendly (even offered us a dog bed and food dishCons: No counter space in bathroom at all, weird square pillows and most annoying is that is cost $35 per night (after validationfor parking in their garage. I probably wouldnt have booked here if Id known that. I guess I just dont understand why for $160 a night they cant throw in secured parking?
MoreIf you like hipster hotels trying to be European, then this is the place for you. No shower doors, no counter space, not even for a shave bag, minimalist settings. Staff are nice and helpful and its clean.
MoreIt is a new and beautiful property but the attitude of employees left a bad taste in my mouth.I stayed at the hotel for over a week and when I requested a late check out, I was denied. I mean I paid one week but I cannot stay even an hour longer? That is absurd. Front desk representative Eric told me 12 pm check out would incur $50 charge. He did not even hear me out. When I spoke to the Front Desk Manager, she basically told me the same. You would think that when hotel occupancy falls dramatically, they would pay more attention to every guest. Well, you would be wrong. Also, twice I had housekeeping barge into my room when I had do not disturb sign on. Privacy not respected at this hotel, either. It is a truly great property with nice spacious rooms but because of the staff i would recommend staying elsewhere in Portland.
MoreGreat service! For me the most important thing at most places is the customer service. Here, the customer service was great and the people at the front desk and bar were very helpful. They went above what was expected and we are thankful for that. That being said, the rooms were so so warm. We weren’t able to sleep well the nights we were there. We did ask for help with changing the temperature but nothing was changing. They very kindly moved us to another room, upon their suggestion, and we had the same issue there. We didn’t want to bother them again as we knew there wasn’t anything that could be done and they had done everything they could to help us. Just know if you need cold to sleep, bring something to keep you cool.
MoreReally nice, modern and amazing looking hotel and rooms.Staff was helpful with service and giving suggestions for what was good around the area. Had a issue with the room, took staff a little longer than expected to get the issue fixed but provided us with breakfast passes to make up for the delay. Also have a nice workout room which is 24hrs and cool game/lounge area on the 2nd floor. Walking distance to the downtown core. Overall, a very good experience.
MoreFloors and ceilings are concrete so you cant hear your neighbors. Beautiful view. Great location, two beds, had to pay for interior parking (not so great). Food was good and bar had great beer and drinks.
MoreVery contradictive experience. Good quality of service, great price with promotion discount during weekend, dog friendly with no additional charges, sound proof, great bar, modern room design, great location. But low water pressure in the faucet, not able to wash hands and our baby under it. Heater making loud, clanking sounds each time it switches on off, no microwave, ceiling is not done yet like you can see builders signatures there, narrow and very uncomfortable beds, fun flush button placement, shower water going on the floor. My verdict try it out on big discount day.
MoreComfortable stay. Spacious room, great service, really enjoyed the kitchen/bar - very good happy hour prices and good food! Easy having a small check in desk, they held our bags for us until our room was ready, and were always very friendly. Enjoyed using an app to order more towels. The room could have done with an extra couch/table/something to open your suitcase on but we loved the design and big comfortable bed. Would stay here again.
MoreThe last two times I have stayed at this hotel I have been put in rooms directly above the intersection. All night long you hear cars racing from the stop light. The lobby is so noisy that it makes it difficult to check in. The rooms arent terribly comfortable with their linoleum floors, concrete ceilings, and picnic tables. I will say the staff is usually quite friendly and the omelettes are outstanding in the restaurant.
MoreAwesome hotel with super friendly and accommodating staff. We stayed over Christmas where the hotel was a bit empty and got upgraded to a larger suite, it was pretty sweet! Great experience, but the pillows are oddly small.
MoreWasnt sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by both the service of the front desk upon arrival and my room size upgrade along with the style. This is definitely one of the most unique hotel layouts Ive even enjoyed and Ive also stayed at the green hotel in Capetown (also an incredible experience). They should work on their deficiencies to easily upgrade to a 4 star. I dont like letting people know I stayed at a 3 :)
MoreExcellent new hotel. Like the hardwood in the rooms. It is a pet friendly hotel and heard some dogs at night, but nothing too loud. Walking distance to really good restaurants and museums. Would have been perfect for us if it fixed one minor detail - more storage in the bathroom please! Dropped a couple of things in the toilet by accident...perhaps another shelf or hook?
MoreWe arrived late and tired, the front desk was super quick to get us checked in, we lucked out and got a room at the end of the hall but even if we had neighbors, I doubt wed hear them. The walls are super cool to look at (see pics). There is a 24 hour gym and game room, I probably wont see either before we leave but Im happy knowing theyre here. The underground parking had plenty of spaces including a few oversized spots, as a driver of a full sized car, I appreciate that there were a lot of spaces and I didnt have to squeeze into a compact one.
MoreGreat hotel. Central location. Service is prompt. Rooms are very trendy and cool...nice TVs and bathroom was lovely. Elevators are a nightmare. Parking garage to lobby is one elevator....then another to the floors. Cant access garage parking without room key. Got locked into the parking lot...had to use emergency exit and walk around the block to get back in front door.Would stay again.
MoreLove the theme of the hotel, the front desk folks are really cool. Ideally located in the heart of downtown. Starbucks, game room and gym onsite. I wished the restaurant/bar had better vegetarian options. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel.
MoreLove the hotel! The room was super cool and loved that there was a lot to do in the hotel. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. I just wish it had more lighting options. Especially in the bathroom. I have light sensitivity, and it was all or nothing for the bathroom lights. I also hated how the bathroom shower situation was set up and water got everywhere. Also, we came for the drag show and the waiters weren’t so nice. I have no clue why they dont have more vegan or vegetarian options. The waiter gave us an attitude and told her we’re here for the show not the food.
MoreI slept well except for the night my neighbor was busy. The walls were a bit thin. The bathroom was clean but the shower only half covered the water spray. So I had a puddle in there every night. TV was very limited but it did connect to my phone. There was a decent exercise room and the hotel has a game room I didn’t use. It just had foosball and a few other tabletops like that. Overall, a decent stay that works well if it’s close to where you need to be in the morning.
MoreOverall, we had a lovely stay here. The room was small, but very clean. The hotel was very funky and cute with fun decorative elements and wallpaper. There were just two hiccups during our stay that caused me to give a review of less than 5 stars.First, someone from the housekeeping staff knocked on our door early in the morning despite the Do Not Disturb sign we had hung. She was very apologetic as soon as I opened the door; it would have been a bigger issue if I were not already awake!Secondly, the showers are set up in a way that seems very easy for water to get out and get everywhere. The opening is such that there should be an additional door or shower curtain, but instead its just open and cool and sleek (not ideal for water). Also, the showerhead was one of those handheld ones, and there was no showerhead that actually sprayed from above, so you had to point the handheld one in the direction of your...self. It was a bit strange. Overall, fine, though. I would go back to this hotel if staying in Portland again!
MoreI really cant complain as I got to stay here for free as part of a job interview. The rooms are very clean as are the common area. A nicely appointed game space too. There was no microwave though in my room and had to have one brought to me. Not everyone wants to go down and pay for a full meal. The rooms are bursting with personality and yet seem devoid of it. That is most likely due to me having a very different personal taste.
MoreGreat hotel, however theyre still working out some of the kinks here. The hotel is only about 7 months old.The rooms arent super dark at night and the doors let in some light from the lobby area outside then. Other than that the rooms are clean and cozy.
MoreA newly renovated hip hotel that will be fun for young and young at heart guests. The rooms are nice and clean but the shower design makes it easy to flood your bathroom floor. The games room can be lots of fun (free classic arcade games and more!).Staff were friendly and accommodating. The bar in the lobby is a great place to relax if you don’t want to venture too far.
MoreVery fun modern hotel! The location is perfect for walking downtown. However it’s a little pricey and they charged us $35 to park one night. There is a mini fridge but no microwave. Also the walls are bright white and show everything and there were some weird footprints on the wall?
MoreWow what a great place to stay. My family and I spent a few nights in Portland before heading out to Sunriver and we had a great experience staying here. From the moment we arrived our kids were in love with the huge selfie camera that is in the lobby. The staff that greeted us was very friendly and answered all of our questions. Our room was very clean and spacious, plenty of room for us to relax. The hotel also has a great free game room. Everyday we stopped in to play a few games. The game room is directly above the restaurant so you can bring food and drinks up while you play. There is also a very cool balcony to sit on if you need some fresh air. We hit a farmers market, multiple donut shops and some great restaurants. We had such a great experience here we stayed one more night during our layover after Sunriver. I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming back.
MoreVery Impressed! The location is great, close to restaurants and a short walk to the water. Hotel room was clean and bed was comfortable. Modern design and decor. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bar was perfect for Happy Hour, the appetizers are awesome!! We were very impressed and will definitely stay again.
MoreA great overall hotel. Lovely decor and friendly staff. The space is very comfortable. The bathroom could use some counter space and a bit of closure for the shower, but everything else is excellent. They have everything we needed and they even allow dogs in! Great location as well.
MoreThis hotel is a pleasant surprise. Staffs were helpful and accommodating. Parking was a bit expensive, but alternative parking on the street around the hotel is possible. Usually not too busy at night but day time can be tricky.Everything else is a 5/5 for me. Location is convenient. I would come back for a stay here.
MoreI will say this, staff is great and the beds are amazingly comfortable. But theres literally no room to store anything, the ironing board must be stored diagonally which means you cant hang anything up in the closet. The bathroom shower situation is ridiculous - you will end up with water all over the floor no matter what you do. No counter tops in the bathroom. Does it look cool? Sure. Just not for me, I prefer a comfortable room with a chair and a place to put my clothes away and a shower with a door.
MoreLoved! Loved! Loved! Staying here. If you are an artist you will appreciate the unique walls that feature hidden Simpson characteristics, along the halls and elevators. The staff is supper friendly and you are close to the hot spots Downtown. Definitely check out this fabulous hotel!
MoreThe rooms were nice and clean, it’s a new hotel and very upbeat. The sink has no water pressure and the room is always freezing. We came back to our hotel room after being out all day and it had not been cleaned. Upon bringing it up to the staff at the front desk, they insisted that our do not disturb sign was up. It was not.
MoreThe fashionable vibe in this hotel is worth the experience! Quick check in process. The hotel is also conveniently located near good shopping and meal options. A tram stop is also like 5 minutes away. The hotel was definitely worth the price as the facilities are fairly new and well maintained. The only thing that made me give it a 4 was the $35 parking fee per day! I thought this was quite expensive. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Portland.
MoreGreat place to stay in the heart of downtown Portland! Very modern and fun updated decor all throughout! We brought our 3 kids and they did good here. I also attended a conference on the 2nd floor and they were very accommodating.
MoreI love this hotel so much! I was super excited upon seeing pictures of the hotel online and was even more impressed upon arriving because it looks just as amazing in person.I want to thank the front desk lady working on Friday May 3rd (the overnight shift), as well as the following 2 nights at the same time (around 11pm to 7 am I believe she said). I didnt catch her name but she was so helpful and friendly and Ive never had that kind of service at any hotel. She answered all my questions and was really informative and patient. I hope she gets recognized for her kind nature and amazing customer service! :)The layout of the hotel itself is so pretty and fresh and clearly very new! You need your key card to access the hotel after 11pm and also to get to each floor in the hotel, which ensures safety and privacy. The bed was really comfy and I had no problem with storing my luggage or anything like that. The room also had a really large table for eating etc which was nice. The shower door was cool looking but it was a bit hard to shower without getting water on the floor. Otherwise, the bathroom itself was huge and the space was perfect. The hotel itself is situated in a perfect area. There is a Starbucks right beside the building and lots of dining options only a short walk away. There is a Safeway less than a 5 minute walk as well if you need any groceries or snacks etc. The area is quiet and not loud/rowdy or anything, but is so central and you can walk to Pioneer Square or any major sight seeing locations in no time. They have underground parking for an additional charge which is convenient as well and you can pay it directly through the front desk. Otherwise, there are a lot of paid parking lots in the area and parking in front of the hotel for short-term loading/unloading which makes checking in and out much easier.I didnt bring my dog this time, but its amazing that they do allow pets and provide bowls and beds if necessary! They also have a game room upstairs and a fitness center open 24 hours, which was a really nice touch. I had a really great time here and I was so sad to have to leave, but I hope to be back in Portland soon and will definitely choose this hotel again!
MoreVery modern hotel with modern rooms. The service provided is top notch. The hotel and rooms itself are very new. They have a games lounge on the 2nd floor that is free to use! That alone earns it big points. There is a 24/7 fitness room and the restaurant downstairs offers happy hour twice daily.
MoreWe did a west coast trip staying in 3 hotels, two of which were 4-5 star and this hotel was by far the best. Front desk personelle all we’re amazing, restaurant staff and food, amazing! Cleaning staff impeccable and never once saw them or were disturbed by them; they must be ninjas :). The room and view were amazing! So kind of the front desk to give city map and recommendations without even being asked. The decor, just gorgeous! The bedding was like sleeping on a cloud with that perfect comforter that you can’t seem to find for your bed but the hotels always have the right one lol Gym was clean and 24 hour as was the cool game room with free arcade game tables. Great terrace views on second floor: and you can’t beat having Starbucks connected to hotel that you don’t even have to go outside to walk in to Starbucks. Still fishing over this place and our trip was in March this year, ps you can’t beat this price for the quality you get !
MoreStaff is excellent! Helpful! Informative and kind!*Room is clean and quiet*view is awesome*black out shade works well*heat and AC work well*bed is comfy with nice linens*2 free waters*coffee pot has substandard coffee, and has cheap cream and sugar....Starbucks is close by thank goodness!*Smart TV*small fridge sufficient for drinks, Safe for valuables, iron/board*small well equipped gym, and game room***this is an awesome "hip" hotel with concrete ceilings, lots of reds, blacks and cool wall murals.... very much liked by the teenagers in the family!
MoreWe loved our stay at Raddisson RED. They are extremely dog friendly; we received cute bandanas for our pups and there are dog bowls and beds they can use while you are there. On top of that there is no pet fee! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and always had a smile on their face. The rooms were very clean, well furnished, and had great artwork. We will be staying here again!
MoreExcellent location and facilities. Staying for one night while visiting the city, and it definitely feels like a nice hotel. Beds are comfortable, and the room is clean, well laid-out, and stayed warm overnight. The design is very modern/open which makes the room feel very large, and has a nice continuous style between the main part of the room and the bathroom. Has a good view of the surrounding buildings without feeling like its cluttered or closed in. Only qualm is the limited provided parking, which is expensive.
MoreThere were a few frustrations my wife and I ran into while staying here. I gave it the 2 stars because of how clean and nice everything looked and the comfortable bed, but thats about it. A lot of the service information was confusing and inconsistent. For example, they do NOT offer room service, even though they advertise the food everywhere (its even advertised on the back of the room door in paint, with the kitchen hours wrong), and they even have a mobile app where you can put together an entire order from the full menu with a total and everything, but it kept giving us an error every time we tried to submit it. Just overall not a very good experience
MoreAmazing down to the decor! Staff was friendly and helpful! I loved that they are dog friendly. The security in this hotel is amazing! I had the top floor and the view was gorgeous! Pricing is great! Definitely booking a room here again!
MoreAwesome vibe, great rooms, and wonderful staff. I cant speak highly enough of how friendly and welcoming they were. They were also able to push our check out time back two hours without any sort of hassle when we were asking for advice on fun things to do the morning before we left Portland. The hotel bar is also great which is a huge plus. Their drinks were consistently high quality and their food was delicious, especially considering it was just an elevator ride away. The "Never Disappoints" lived up to its name. The room we stayed in had a Chromecast TV, which was an unexpected bonus. We had YouTube running from our phones while we got ready for bed every night we were there. If I have one complaint, its that the hotels app didnt always work. However, asking the staff for help with the few things I would have used the app for was a so painless. My experience with them more than made up for it.
MoreWe stayed here the first week they were open. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There were some issues relating to the new opening - no microwave, parking ticketing didnt work, and they handled them all gracefully and for free. The rooms are very modern--no drawers of any sort. They could do with a bit more shelving in the bathroom, and better lighting in the wardrobe. I can only imagine how much of a mess guests will make with the half-wall on the shower allowing water to spray literally anywhere in the bathroom, even into the room. If you work at it you can end your shower without the bath mat soaked. That said, the shower is great. The arcade is 2 MAME cocktail tables with about 400 games emulated. There are many classics, a ton of knock-off and filler games. No way to play co-op games, or games that require a spinner, although both types of games are pointlessly included. The controls are good but not great. The bar is nice, happy hour prices are decent. Not a huge selection, but there are a few high-end options.Dog-friendly, which means no carpets. Usb ports are built in to the outlets. Really convenient location.Well be back again I am sure!
MoreBrand new hotel. They went a little too far on the ultra-modern feel - rooms were funky (exposed concrete ceilings, hard floors, minimalist furniture/space), water pressure in sink and shower was dismal, and having no door on the shower ends in a flooded bathroom floor. Its clear they spent too much effort on picking colors and modern touches and not enough time executing on the fundamentals of great hotel experience.
MoreBrand new chic place in the heart of Portland. Modern rooms. Minutes from shopping, sightseeing and bars/restaurants. The place is super stylish, can feel a bit cold but service is very nice and welcoming. Beds are comfortable. Definitely a recommendation for Portland trips!
