Rabat old market - Market in Dakhla, Morocco
I bought a leather cash wallet from her as gift, and was not disappointed 🤗. Great deals, deserve visiting.
Great place to visit.
Quite a unique market although it’s smaller than other souk of major Moroccan city. The local handcraft looks “less touristic” and more reliable.
Very nice , alot of things
Quite affordable prices even for tourists
I loved it. It was my first experience with Rabat Medina (market place). The prices are much better than in Marrakesh or Fes.
The best in Morocco! Very reasonable prices and its totally different and not aggressive as in other cities such Marrakech and fez.I recommend Rabat highly for your shopping.
As can be expected. Huge crowd, stalls everywhere and smells you did not know existed (for better, for worse). The reason why we love coming to Morocco
The old city of Rabat
Enjoyable very relaxed place in spite of the many People.
Was crowded but a very charming place
Lovely place with loveliest people! Also the prices are reasonable✌️❤️
Absolutely amazing place to watch and visited..we really enjoyed our time and food and shopping there.
Nice to wonder around and maybe even purchase something
Must visit
Good place but many people scam tourists over there so be careful 👍
They have beautiful quality products. The traders do not cheat and wares are sold at reasonable prices. You have conveniences. It is also PLWD friendly. I love the market. I think its called Medina
This market sorta feels like home. I spent many an afternoon there during my middle and high-school years. I enjoy meandering the streets there and looking at the work done by artisans. Many items are typically brought in from Fez, Marrakech, Agadir, or Essaouira. There are beautiful pieces of jewelry, traditional and modern clothing, as well as wooden and leather goods and earthenware.
Great place to purchase Moroccan Stuff. I had some Seafood in the local restaurant there in the old market. It was absolutely superb. But have to be careful with while buying things. We should stay alert with our belongings.
Good for traditional and folkloric clothes of the Morocco.
All Old markets in that region of the world have their own flavor.Among the hustle and bustle of shoppers haggling and bargaining it is an exclusive experience on its own . The sights and sounds are unique and one can never experience in the western world
Definitely worth visiting if you are in Rabat
I highly recommend it for all types of Moroccan souvenirs, for Moroccan and (especially/mainlynon Moroccan visitors/tourists.
It was my first experience of a Moroccan market. It is not as big as the ones in Fes or Marrakesh, but there werent donkey carts and motorcycles that you needed to watch out for.
I went to buy fish and was not disappointed. I bought anchovies, merlin and sea bream. All were.very fresh and much better priced than the supermarkets. Then I passed by the vegetable sellers where I bought fruit and veggies. Prices here were not different from the big supermarkets and the produce was not all fresh.
Beautiful and safe Souk in the heart of Rabat Medina. The shopkeepers dont cheat you like in Marrakesh, and the environment is secure and friendly. Highly recommended.
A bit touristy. If possible go before prayer time so you don’t find closed stalls.
Of all the old markets I visited in Morocco, Rabat definitely was the cleanest and had the least aggressive shopkeepers. They also lacked welcoming energy you receive in Marrakech or Fes but some will appreciate the trade-off for being left alone. I am in the middle.
Beautiful souk, due to the covid and travel restrictions, it was dead empty.I would recommend it for a Sunday stroll
Amazing experience. Integrity the quality unique customer service
Old Market is a misnomer. It looks quite new! It’s probably a recent renovation. Here you will find shoes, clothes, jewelry, pottery and various other knickknacks. What gives it a nice atmosphere is the wood/glass ceiling. Go through it once and snap pictures of strange looking slippers, wondrous Cinderella jewelry and fake Gucci bags 😎
A typical souks market. With food, freshly pressed argan and other oils, bags and souvenirs. Streets are cobble stone and there are alot of hills. wear good shoes.
Same stuff you find at any other old medina in Morocco. Nothing special to see here unless you like to be pushed and shoved by large crowds. Avoid the busiest hours and visit only in the mornings.
Not too busy and over the top and no hard sell + you can find to buy whatever you need, as long as you seek long enough. It is also great way to see part of and enjoy in Rabats daily life.
The place is made of art, very beautiful hand made souvenirs,
Great experience spending time in the souks of Rabat. My partner and I enjoyed the great wares that vendors had to sell. We went in May 2021 during Ramadan so in some streets there were not many people but after noon it really seemed to pick up the pace. It reminded me if the divisora in the Philippines. Regardless it was fun and well kept. Glory and Honour, friend.
As old as it is still well mentained and organised .... the hospitality in morocco makes you feel at home
Never miss rabat old Market. Now after the renovation and some strict rules every things looks better nice & clean. Various Shoppers with bigger selection and comfortable to work, reasonable prices. I love this market I recommend for families and couples this is one of good places to visit in Rabat City.
Though I excited to visit Rabat old market after knowing the prices of the items I got little disappointment however similar item I can find much cheaper in El jadida. But its a beautiful market as per maintaining similar architecture for all the shops. For me its good for window shopping, it might be good for those who bargain.
A relatively small market close to mellah and the synagogue, the indoor and colorful market, many leather goods stores, from belts to leather jackets.Stores of sweet things made in the sweet spot you will see on Purim and in the hands of the Moroccan Jews.Crowded restaurants at noon.
A place "must visit". Authentic souvenirs, Mediterranean environment.
Interesting, but having just come from marrakesh it wasnt the same experience. Far more modern and all selling the same stuff. Plus side they did not try and harass you like they tend to do elsewhere.
One of my favorite places. Must visit!
Historical medina in Rabat. Shopkeepers are very friendly and can understand English. Prices are reasonable but you can still haggle. Note that many shops are closed on Fridays.
Better than others medinas , more clean and not so busy, you could enjoy it without feeling hunted by local people ...
Definitely one of the most magical places Ive been to. Theres a good selection of both traditional wares as well as a bunch of knock off designer clothing if you are into that kinda stuff. Prices are reasonable but you should definitely bargain as much as you can. The food here is to diiiieeeee for. Try the sandwiches. They are so good.
Very relaxed market compared to Casablanca Old Madinah. Prices very competitive, but the market is small.Enjoyable and can be done in an afternoon.
Amazing market experience. Clothing, woodworking, food, boxes, tapestry, rugs, food, spices, food, trinkets, and food...
A cozy place where you can find everything with good price... but you have to see all the shops before buying anything... some of them have overpriced..
Its like you would imagine a bazar. Its full, you can get everything and if you arent with a native, youll surely get fooled. But Ive got a great drawing from there.
