Amazing decoration, with funky artwork and natural/industrial elements. Very attentive and caring staff, delicious food.

Firstly, the waitress was a quite pushy for us to order drink and bread after 5 mins we sat even though we havent gotten the food menu. We ended up taking the 4-course menu and paid 47,50 euros per pax for this, but then we got the main course, the lamb tenderloin was literally 3 cm and half a sausage for each person. The first starter was also very small (mostly a mise en bouche). We didnt know what would be served to us and we couldnt choose the food selection when we take multi-courses and not aware that it would be like this. In conclusion, we are left quite disappointed and still hungry.

I would probably give this place a better rating if it wasn’t for a 50+ minute wait for a flat iron steak which was more chewy than I expected in a steak restaurant..Staff was super friendly and prices were good too! Would recommend!

Pricy for mediocre quality

The service was fantastic and superclass. The waiters where very friendly and very fast in more or less everything.However the food was quite bad and of low quality. I have never had perfect service in combination with bad food before. There was a complete incompetence how to cook/roast the “flanksteak”.

Great place for Ive got to say quality dining. Small and good selection of menu items, so you know that the chefs are good at it. I had a suprise menu with some quality items and can highly recommend the wine option with the menu, this sommelier knows his stuff (Joure bedankt!). If you love food or want to have a steller evening with friends or that special someone I can say: look no further, Roast is your place to be. (Vegetarian options are available when asked for)

What a lovely place!!! Locales Next to a canal giving you an unique scenery (genuinely Dutch).Next to shopping area.You can choose being indoors (very modern, colorful, so niceor outdoors as we chose very happily.Its menu offers tasty options in a peaceful place and besides that in good company.Excellent-fast attention, reasonable prices.A day to remember, a place to recomend everybody and to repeat .

Fantastic staff and AMAZING Food made this our favorite restaurant during our stay in Leeuwarden. We enjoyed our meal so much we went back for a 2nd meal. Great atmosphere and wonderful variety on food and drink menu.

The food, service, and drinks are all 1st class. Count not ask for any better. Old fashioned is memorable

Good food and attentive staff. I would add a chocolate lava cake to the dessert menu, but overall a nice experience. Theres enough room to accommodate big groups, we had a table for a group of 12 people.

Terrible service! It’s unbelievable. We wanted to eat and drink something. Sat there for like 30 minutes. When the waiter finally came he was so rude because first of all we were two women and we did not speak Dutch fully. When the waiter said something like “he does not like serving people who don’t speak Dutch” or that “we should go somewhere else because we’re two women” I lost it.We sat there with our drinks and waited till he came back so we could order food. Well…he did not come back even after we waved like 2-3 times he ignored us.So I went inside and payed.I am never gonna go there again.

Tasty food, friendly staff, a good place for cocktails!

The service is absolutely horrible.We were served by one waiter, bombarding us with rude, uninterested and failed attempts at witty remarks with a tone that would give a sour taste to anything that could come out of that kitchen.The objective was also crystal clear, try to squeeze as much money out of customers as possible.Recommending, nay, pressuring customers to get the most expensive options. Constantly coming back asking us to buy more drinks after we had given a clear answer.We decided to only get an appetizer and leave as soon as possible (sadly the whole ordeal did take almost 2 hours). So I cant speak too much in the quality of the food. They did also make mistakes in our order but we couldnt be bothered to try and get that fixed.Got out of there as quickly as possible and had an amazing dinner at a different restaurant, sadly the visit here tainted our evening.Most definitely not recommended.

My boyfriend and I came for lunch here and had the beyond meat burger and the "real" meat burger. They both tasted really great!! The sauce on the burger was a tad too sweet for us and the fries were a little dry but everything was well seasoned :The staff is super friendly and the prices are fair. I also totally recommend the cocktails :)

Perfectly cooked steak and loved that it came with mushrooms.The fries are okay - they were a bit dry.

I think the food was over priced for the amount given, granted it tasted good but I dont think a small steak is worth 25€, the only reason im giving 3 stars is the atmosphere was great and staff was pleasant.

Perfectly fine atmosphere but far too expensive for what it is. Loads of surrounding cafés are a lot better in this regard

5/5 for lamb burgerCheese cake here is pretty good too. Good indoor and outdoor seating with perfect ambience.

The quality has drastically changed and not for the better u pay way too much. I had the cheese tosti but it was just a warm piece of bread with cold melted cheese. I do not recommend it anymore maybe it will change again but right now wouldnt go here.(Edit: I messaged her back quite quick after her response but i didnt hear from them after that. At least respond if you share contact info)

Perfect place for dinner and drinks.We chooses the 4 courses menu with the wine match and it was amazing.We are not Dutch speakers but they manage to help you really well, and they have English menu.The staff are very helpful and friendly.Defiantly it’s a place that worth your visit.

Smoked zeebaars salad was the best mealsalad I have ever had! Nice combination of vegetables and well mixed sauce(not too strong not too weak).Also the beatroot bbq was an amazing vegetarian dish. We were pleasantly surprised by the smokey taste.Fast service and all staffs were wearing masks for hygiene. Super!

I had a farewell dinner with my friends, but the service was so bad. Although the staff are really kind but we wait for an hour still not order food yet because of no one come to us to give service. It was really kinda ruined our last dinner here.

Positively surprised by the rich taste of the lovely dish. As a vegetarian it is great to enjoy an original meal. My partner’s salmon with Dutch ‘hangop’ was suberb, he said. Warm welcome with excellent service by our host.

Innovative veg menu. Sumptuous chocolate cake w/ salted caramel sauce. A friendly and helpful staff made this group event all that much more enjoyable!

Good location in the city center. Original and tasty dishes (like the onion soup see picserved by profesional and kind staff. Excellent quality-price ratio. Defenetly I will comeback. Highly racommendable!

We visited this mighty fine establishment during Psy-Fi festival two times in total.The place itself is amazingly spacious and interior design is just on point.The waiters were really helpful and kind on both occasions and Jack is just amazing.He is my spirit animal!The food and drink menu is satisfying in size and variety.The food was really nice, I only went for the toasties, and they were perfectly crafted.Wife got a foodgasm while having the smoked sea bass salad.Their gin & tonic pairings are perfect.They actually spent time on those!All-in-all I have and will give this place a perfect score.If you visit Leeuwarden this place is a must.

Nice trendy place down town, You can drink a big varierty of alcohol and soft drinks. You can also eat a snack or small meal, but I think that people come here mainly for the atmosphere and drinks. On the weekends it get busy, when looking for a big table better make a reservation. Staff is friendly, speaks English and can recommend best drinks and dishes.

Nice and tasty food. We ordered the beef burger and a chicken, lime mayonnaise sandwich.The prices were good, around 8€ and the staff was nice.

We decided to get our lunch here because we were already familiar with Kelder65. Roast has amazing indoor and outdoor seating with delicious food. As a student the prices are amazing too when comparing them to the amount of food you actually get. Definitely recommend going here or to the Kelder65 whenever you find yourself in Leeuwarden. The daily special was superb!

Interieur looks decent looks inviting ,but the service provided by its staff is absolutely appaling, went there for tea with my mum ,but will never return ,absolutely shocking how rude the front of house staff is !will never return,very disappointed about the customer service

nice place. very cosy. perfect for a drink. we came to snack something and and for the menu, but it was later impossible to get the attention of one of the waiters to actually order something without getting up and asking them, and I refuse to do that so we paid for or drink and are somewhere else.to bad because I really like the atmosphere there. could have been 4 or 5 stars

One of the must visit restaurant/coffee/ bar in Leeuwarden. Modern design, good service as well as good quality food and beverages. Price is also acceptable.
