R.F. McDougall’s in Kennewick

I hadnt been here in years and only stopped in when dinner plans elsewhere fell through. My cottage pie was delicious and arrived so hot I almost couldnt eat it at first (which I appreciate!). Our first choice in wings wasnt available and the ones we got ("Devil Spit"?definitely lived up to their name. They were HOT!!! Service was a little sluggish and had to ask to order our main course and had my card on the table for several minutes before I got my check but I will return.

A TC classic! You owe it to yourself to visit! Best rueben in town!

When you get here ask for Will. Explain what youre looking for and get what he suggests. Great service. Wonderful food. The Irish Death beats McGuiness easily. Irish Twinkies wont disappoint. Alfredo at an Irish joint? Yep.

Tina is an awesome server.(She deserves a BIG raiseShe remembered us from 4 weeks ago and even what we ordered. Fish Tacos, French Dip, Cubano and Roasted veges with Chicken, all delicious . We will be back. Friendly staff and great view from the patio!

Irish fare featured, which was a pleasant surprise, as many Irish named restaurants fail to live up to their identities. Fully enjoyed the cod Fish & Chips, & the Corned Beef. Lovely views overlooking the boat ramp at Columbia Park Trail. Eat out on the patio to fully enjoy the scenery. We will be back.

Historic building and a hidden gem! Piping hot homemade soups and the best fish in a thin batter with large juicy pieces and great chips weve had in years. Cant wait to return for another cold brew!

Always great! Prompt service from people who make you feel welcome and act like they enjoy their job. Drink menu is extensive and drinks are very good. Food is good and attractively plated. Always playing good music but sometimes is a little too loud for lunch conversation. Bathroom is really small and very cold, but always clean and stocked.

My wife and I went here on a whim having never heard of place.Fantastic food.Fantastic service.Saw a couple reviews about service from a negative standpoint. Not my wife and I’s experience at all.We loved it. Definitely going again.

My boyfriend and I love coming here. Menu selection is great. Beer, wine and alcohol selection is excellent. Staff is wonderful, friendly, personable. Definitely recommend!

This is a great local spot. Has been there for 40 years and it shows. The staff is inviting, friendly and generous. Great food options, beer selection and drink specials. You wont find a bunch of rowdy drunks here. Staff and management is in their game.

The reason for my 1 star is because I wasnt given the opportunity to order. A friend and I arrived with the intention to have a drink and listen to the live music, we chose a high top table and struggled with the heavy chairs to get them Free from the table legs and then decided we would rather sit across from each other so she changed sides and we were laughing at ourselves for being fickle and based on these actions witnessed by staff they determined (wronglythat one of us was on drugs or already drunk and refused to serve us. They didnt even bother to come to the table to take our order. It wasnt until we waited and watched staff serve other patrons (maybe 5 other tablesthat my friend went up to the bar to order and was told we would not be served. The reason they gave is because we arrived laughing and had struggled with seating ourselves and that my friends hair was wild. Its beyond my understanding how to ladies having a good time and laughing one with "wild hair" could be refused service it was before 9pm. Its my thinking that you would welcome people that are in a good mood into your establishment where people are in a happy mood going to drink and have a great time. I would have liked to have the opportunity to order and base my review on different criteria. We went next door to find the staff called ahead and told them not to serve us. I spoke with the bartender and he could tell right away that we had not already been drinking and was kind enough to allow us to stay and visit over a drink.

Went here a few weeks ago. This was my second time. First thing when we walked in was a very gross smell. I thought it smelt like sewage. I asked the waitress if they were cooking something different (not wanting to be rude she said she is used to the old building smell and it gets bad during the summer with the start of the day. We ordered. The waitress was very nice. The fish and chips were huge! Over all we would go back but maybe sit outside.

The food was mediocre at best . the 2 person band couldnt carry a tune in a bucket and 2 of the tvs were showing boxing which is not what ii dinner tv. My group was turned off completely. The server was inattentive at best. No wonder there was omly a few customers at 8pm Friday evening. It used to b a good place ..

The fish was great! Very fresh and crisp! Hands down best in the area! Also, had a rib eye steak and potato skins. Great flavor and juice on the steak. The steak was a bit more well done then I ordered this would be the reason for the low score. It was a nice place to have dinner and a view of the river!

We just moved to the Tri Cities from another state about a year ago and so far, this had been one of our favorite places to go. You can just kick back, relax, enjoy a cold beer and geat food with very friendly service. Keep it up ♡ We will be bringing our visiting friends and family here when we want to show them good time in the Tri at an affordable price. Thank you.

Place is great! The wait staff is fun and super insightful. They have a pickle soup, a first for me too, but its totally delicious. They offer samples too.

I have been three times and the salads are exceptional, the fish and chips is mediocre at best, the Reuben is good. There is a wonderful historic bar there, the story and ambiance is exceptional.

I love their Thirsty Thursday happy hour. Great food selection of appetizers and beers. Loved the crab stuffed mushrooms and wurst platter "!Delicious, staff attended us promptly out in the patio. Must go again soon! 😊

They have potato boats! Cant find these anywhere in town, and they were SO good. Fish and chips were tasty too. They have a nice drink menu as well, pretty competitive prices for mixed cocktails. Cant wait for their patio to open as it overlooks the water! Initially we got ignored for 10 mins but another server jumped in and helped us out, so our experience got much better once she helped us. Hopefully next time the service will be kind and attentive from the beginning.

I always go here for live music.Its a nice chill Irish pub.The service as been a little off each time though.This last time it was a little faster and better. First time Ive sat at the bar.But we waited 31 minutes for our check after we said we were ready to close out. And it wasnt busy... Our waitress walked past us a few times.When she did bring it by, she tossed it at us lol.I didnt think anything of it, but my friend was annoyed by it.All in all. Drinks were normally priced. Anywhere form 8.50-11.00 for a house special.But my drink wasnt really that spectacular, it was pretty weak for 8.50.But the waitress was friendly throughout.Like I said, I go for the live music and the Irish pub feel.And I dig it.A bar is a bar. So you may as well find one you like, theyre all gonna cost you money haha.

Fun atmosphere, I went on a night there was a live band.Our waiter was kinda awkward and curt. He didnt seem to want to take our orders. He was fed up with us before we opened our mouths haha.The food was tasty though, and overall it was a fun place!

This is in my husbands hometown and is a favorite stomping grounds when we come back to visit. The Christmas jello shots were fantastic and the food is pretty good. We always come here when we come to Tri-Cities because its fun and a good value.

This place was amazing. Austin the bartender was great and polite and gave honest feedback on menu items. The food was top notch. Ive had worse at upscale restaurants.

My second time here. Not supper impressed with the food. The fried oysters were good. I would skip the bruschetta though. The live group singing was good. Place was busy, wait staff tried hard to keep up. Its cool for an old pub feel but I probably wont go again.

A great little place hidden next to another bar, this winds up always being a nice quiet spot to grab some absolutely killer food. It is also an Irish bar with some real Irish cuisine. They had a German menu for octoberfest and it was refreshingly authentic as well. Cant go wrong here, people.

Good food my best friend Mike Longo is head chef there hes a good guy very friendly make sure to talk to him if you got the chance talk to him about hunting and fishing hes got lots of stories pretty good service and great atmosphere as well Ill be back there soon

Unfortunately service has a lot to be desired. It took 20 minutes to take our drink order...our friends joined us shortly after and it took 15 minutes after they were seated to get their drinks. My hubby ordered another white wine after about 50 min and after another 20 min I went to the bar to see where his drink was. Only 25 people here at the restaurant and 3 are sitting at the bar. No hand towels in the mens restroom. No seat covers in the womens restroom. So sad...managements needs to step up and reevaluate whats happening.

Very friendly staff, fun environment, we only had appetizers but they were very good. Smaller patio for such a large city. Beautiful view. Highly Recommend.

Food and service have been good each time weve been there

We really enjoy the restaurant and the food is good, love the old bar but I would like to see the deck kept up a little better. In general though the service is good and it maintains itself as one of the classic Tri-Cities restaurants and a must visit. Keep up the good work! 👍P.S. Just got back from Boston and visited the original Cheers. No one knew my name there and the food wasn’t anywhere near as good as our home town R.F. McDougall’s. Cheers to R.F.’s! 😃👍

My husband and I ordered the chicken strips and fries. Fries were undercooked and the chicken was like leather. Instead of complaining, I thought I would just get some sauce to dil them in. However the waitress never came back outside so I could get some. It wasnt busy, just 3 couples outside but she couldnt come out apparently. So, I couldnt eat it but she still charged us for it. Never even received an apology. Will never go back.

Food here was great, the staff did an amazing job of keeping up with our 11 person walk-in that joined our 4 friends that were already there. Beautiful view of the river, and I have to repeat - that server was amazing. I am sorry I didnt get her name, but she was all over it, and made it look easy. Out of the 15 of us, one burger got a bit overcooked. Everything else was excellent. I will be back.

My experiences there have been all been good. The onion rings are to die for. Most all of their food in my opinion is good. They have an outside patio that had a great view of the Columbia River. Will go there again!

McDoigalls is a local staple and casual dining atmosphere, with a hint of upscale food and wine. The menu holds a variety of foods for every pallet. The service is always good and you can enjoy a meal with friends on the patio.

The atmosphere was great. Its not too loud so you can talk with your friends. The place has a great vibe to it. The service was okay. The food was not good though. My dinner was burnt and had no flavor to it. I had the break off the burnt part, which was difficult to do because it was so burnt. The prices were steep for the quality of the food.

The service was great, servers friendly. The food is pretty good, my salad was very good, my partner said his burger was good & the fries were delicious. The outside seating is pleasant, overlooking the river

Went in for breakfast and was not dissapointed! The brisket benedict was outstanding. Ive been a chef locally for more than a decade and the presentation and profiles associated were spot on! I reccomend stopping in and having breakfast. The menu has a little bit of everything and very fairly priced for the food you get, service and atmosphere is great, and youre always greeted with a smile and speedy service. The lunch and dinner is great with a huge selection at the bar to pair with your dinner. Thanks mcdougalls staff for another great experience, highly reccomended to anyone looking to go out and have a great time.

I had the fish and chips, and thought it was good. However, beware, if you are looking for the Skippers fish, deeply fried, hot and crispy, you will be disappointed. McDougalls fish are thick pieces, lightly coated, soft and moist. Just the way I like it. The beer selection was ok. Some good choices, but not extensive.

A favorite of mine since 1985! Pub type atmosphere with the best Fish and Chips in town, although my favorite item on the menu is Boston Vegetables (I add salmon). Lovely, seasonal deck with a view of the marina and Bateman Island. Happy hour drinks and specials are great.

I had nachos and french fries (both were good and quite crispywhile my boyfriend had the shepherds pie (he thought it was good, but could have used more vegetables ). We enjoyed ourselves. Great view, pleasant service. Could have used a beer list/menu. They had lots on tap.

Exactly what I wanted! Nice little Irish pub off the water. Rib eye steak was good with a hint of 🍋 and the angry orchard apple sauce salmon was on point (highly recommendover all place was great and staff was friendly. Happy hour all day Sunday.

Ok, I rarely give poor reviews, but this place is absolutely horrible! My wife and I got the fish and chips, and there is nooooo way that the fish is fresh (as advertised). The fish was dry and flat! It is the most disgusting fish Ive ever ate. We told the server and the cook didnt even care. The prices are soooooo overpriced its not funny! Like I said, i dont complain much, but this was terrible...all in all two fish and chip meals (waters for beverageand three kids meal and my bill was 91 dollars! I would choose another option!

We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in. The staff is very friendly! This place offers a fantastic variety of brews & spirits. The Blackened Chicken Alfredo is first class. We sat on the patio on this beautiful 65º day. We enjoyed the view of the Columbia River.

R.F. Mcdougalls is the best place I have attended! We were greeted warmly and our waiter was kind and made my group laugh! The Bartender gave us many laughs and the food was amazing! My group tried each others food and everything was DELICIOUS! We loved the Irish Pub look as well.

Absolutely phenomenal place to eat and just hang out. Greeted warmly, great appetizers, delicious food and the drinks....yummy! The band lent a genuiness to the air of the place. All in all a fabulous experience and we WILL be back to try prime rib on another Friday.
