What a wonderful piece of history preserved in Helena with the R-B Drive-In. The owner greeted us and even provided some great local places to visit, since we were from out of state. The cheeseburgers were hot and loaded, fries crispy, and the chocolate malts, with whipped cream and chocolate syrup marbled through, were a throwback to the days of a classic drive-in treat! We are glad we found this little gem just down the street from our vacation rental!

The owners rude, leave hateful messages for people who dislike their food & makes threats towards them. The food wasn’t very impressive either. Visited from outside & won’t be eating here again!

Food is good (excluding last couple visits). Definitely better than previous owners. Prices are a bit high. Last couple visits everything ordered, that hit the fryer, tasted of onion. Seems like they need to change oil more frequently or separately fry onion rings.

This is a great place to eat. Great food and service. The grandkids will choose this place every chance they get. They love the little treat bags.

Hi there, I tried to respond in the original review thread. I want to reiterate that there were no problems at all with the kids meal burger...It was perfect, as I mentioned in first review.My problem was with the small order of fish and chips. There was very little fish in the three patties; my estimate would be about 1 ounce in the total order. Thats not adequate in most peoples expectation of a lunch order.I was very happy with the customer service and the kids meal. I would like a refund for the small fish and chips order. I was in on Saturday, July 16 at 12 pm. Thank you.

I was so excited to finally visit the new RB. The kids cheeseburger was a perfect little meal for a toddler, but my small order of fish and chips was shocking…where was the fish? There could not have been more than 1 ounce of fish meat in the 3 little fried patties. There was barely any fish for the breading to grab onto, just fried breading. So disappointing.

R-B Drive-In is a great local spot worth visiting. Their burgers always have plenty of toppings, the fries and tots are crispy, and they still have old fashioned malts and phosphates! I always receive prompt and kind service.

This is a great place, somewhat for the nostalgia, but also for the good food and not bad price! You get newly made food, so no reheated stuff. Onion Rings and Shakes are very yummy!

It’s not hard to be a little nice? Don’t take everything so person and forgive.

R & B has absolutely the best fish and chips in Helena! They are fresh, hot, crispy and delicious. Milkshakes are also excellent. This is a gem of a place with a long local history. Its fun to eat in the car or at their covered patio. Take a break from corporate fast food and enjoy food prepared with love.

Food wasnt the greatestWent there as a middle schooler then new owners food was not great so stopped then one owner food was over priced and this time food wasnt the bestEdible but not something Id be going back for like the other previous owners.

Nowhere as good as what it was when me and my mother were kids. There signature sauce was horrible and they treat there employees horrible if I could give them a negative I would. Destroyed an amazing business

Every time we go there, the staff is AMAZING and the food is DELISH! Recommend to everybody living here and visiting! Try their milkshakes, you will not be disappointed.

my corn dogs were undercooked. owner personally attacks customers for leaving bad reviews. they should work on their food before calling customers poor. do not recommend at all and will not purchase from them again. beware.

Food and service were both great! I do think its a little pricey for the portion size though. Then again, everything seems to be going up in price these days. Would totally recommend. Very friendly staff!

Food was good, I just felt the chicken strips was little expensive. Not a lot of fries on the side. But other than that it was decent. Staff was very polite too.

I just spent 40 minutes sitting waiting for my two sandwiches only to receive them cold, along with cold fries and tots. Not only waiting for the food, but waiting to pay in general. When I got the attention of an employee I got hit with a “I’m sorry we just had a big rush” we were the first the the rush, and three people after us had already left with their full orders. The wait was then blamed on how long the chicken takes to cook, that’s fine and all but my chicken is cold. Don’t worry though, I was compensated for my time with an extra sauce that we didn’t ask for and 10¢ off. Not super thrilled.

This was my first time grabbing a burger here and was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. The atmosphere was great and the staff was so nice and welcoming. This is just a classic diner that I will for sur be coming back to.

I love this place!!! I wish it stayed open till 8pmOn weeknights though. The food is so good though

Happily editing my review after a long time not eating here:This place is THE BEST replacement for Saras Blue Ribbon Porkies (if you remember that restaurant); the texture and taste were nearly perfect (just slightly too moist in the center); if youre like me and youve been searching around Helena for a Saras replacement, then this porky had you covered!

Might be the best fast burger in Helena. Is it amazing? No, but its good and quick which is acceptable most of the time for a decent burger. Chocolate shakes are good, fries are good but wish you got more of them in an order. 4 stars because it tastes like they mix up the fish fryer and fries oil so sometimes the fries taste fishy which is an experience. Ill keep going back.

Wanted to update my previous experience from a year ago. Food is back to being good and the service was great. They were very busy and the young server was trying so hard and was very nice.

This place has always been a Helena landmark for me. Growing up going here for the steak fries and the fish and chips, nostalgia really hits home pulling up to the ordering kiosk. The newest owners are friendly people and have done a wonderful job sprucing up the place. The food is the same consistent quality you would expect from a little corner store burger joint, not the greatest, but better than a fast food place. Wait times can be a little long during peak hours, and the menu is a tad limited and pricey but anyone in the food industry knows that basic costs are quite high right now. Steak fries, fish and chips, or a capital burger are the go to items on this menu.

We’ve only been here twice since it went under new ownership. The food is so much better than it was before. The service is always friendly. The second time we came they were really busy, the parking lot was packed and everyone seemed to be working hard, but we waiting more than 45 minutes for our food. They were apologetic, but I wouldn’t recommend it you’re looking for something quick.

Amazingly fast food that is delicious! Best porkies in Helena!!! Their staff is super friendly and always make sure we leave happy and full; our dogs even leave smiling! Thank you and we will be back soon!

I’ve been here 4 times so far and each time they deliver the same consistently good food. One item of note is that their fries are served HOT. They have not been sitting under a heat lamp. For some reason these days, it’s hard to get fresh hot fries, and they certainly deliver on that front. Food is good. Service is good. Malts are even better.

Classic drive in! The food and shakes are so good. I do wish they had open counter ordering like some other drive ins since some of the ordering machines are on opposite sides, are tight to get to, or just awkward to stand there when the person next to you is right there. The chocolate shake is in incredible! So creamy, smooth, and very chocolatey. The tots and cheese curds are well seasoned and crispy. The burger was delicious! Will be back.

I am so pleased with the new ownership! R-B Drive-In has the same feel that it has always had, but refreshed. The food is great and the place is clean. Thank you for rescuing a Helena icon.

We just had to go and check out the food since new owners arrived and I have to say my entire family was NOT disappointed. The burgers were juicy and full of flavor and their trio meal hit the spot! McDonalds fries usually cant be beat but I have to admit that they now have an amazing contender and honestly I think I might even prefer R-Bs. On top of the amazing food you CAN NOT beat the experience of a drive-up restaurant! My husband took me out to try their food the other night and its almost magical driving up, sitting in your car, ordering, then having intimate conversations while waiting for a delicious meal. It ended our night just perfect and I recommend to anyone to do the same. Good food, good experiences, and a flash back to the past...how could it be better?

A great little Drive-In with delicious food. We had the burger, pork sandwich, onion rings, fried, and cheese curds and it was all delicious. Plus the kids meal came with a fun little bag of goodies. I would definitely go again if Im ever in Helena again.

Drove in from out of town for an appointment and wanted something quick and easy to eat before hand. Was able to get in and out during lunch hours without any fuss. Their food was very good and the girls that came to my truck were nice and pleasant.

New owners, New great attitude! Took six kids there with my wife after the Vigilante Parade. Excellent customer service and really good food. Their fries are the best!

Under new owners. Much better than it had been. Fries are crispy. No Pepsi products. Burgers are good. BLT was a little greasy because they grilled the bread rather than toasted it. Finger steaks were great. I think the new owners are on the right track.

The experience was awful. Our sandwiches were greasier then usual, barely any meat and we simply asked for one of them to be redone. The customer service was terrible, instead of being asked what they could do to fix the issue, we were told that nobody else has said anything bad. Then the owners continued to tell us we were in the wrong, when all we wanted was for the sandwiches we paid for to be consumable. The owner continued to tell us that we are wrong and rude, when that was not the case. Then because of the bad customer service, and the fact the owners husband then came out to intimidate us, we asked for our money back. Which we then received thrown at us into our car window. I would definitely not recommend eating here. We have been eating here for many years, and are extremely disappointed with our experience today. Will not be back, nor will we ever again recommend to anybody for any reason.

The food is good. Not super hot for how long you have to wait.. pretty discouraged been there a handful of times throughout the years and I seem to have an issue with my order everytime.. have to drive back into town after I leave if I want a refund the staff is overall friendly just make sure to check your food before you leave if your taking it on the go. Will be back but will be carefully checking my food next time

I have been here before and always had great food and service. Tonight I waited 45 minutes then went to tell them after people who arrived after me were getting their food. They had lost my order. The woman who owns it was apologetic and offered to make the food at no charge. I agreed. She brought our food and left. We open the burgers are wrong, and the worst part is the fries and tots were simply not done and dripping in grease. Oh and we had a free fish sandwich thrown in literally burned black on one side.

I knew the food wasnt going to be bad, but it turned out to be absolutely delicious! The prices were actually less expensive than McDonalds or other Hamburger joints, without sacrificing quality. Very nice cozy atmosphere! Just pull up, look at the menu for a bit and press the order button. When you food comes, sit in your own vehicle and enjoy the delicious meal. Like I said the prices are VERY sensible. Perfect place for a quick or casual meal with friends, co-workers, or yourself! Definitely dont skip driving by here! If you havent already experienced this drive-in stop by and enjoy this peacefully mouthwatering restaurant!

Been coming here since I was small. One of my absolute favorite places to eat in Helena, MT. The new owners are great and the menu and food has only gotten better! Dont be afraid to try any of the special burgers or weekday specials. The capital burger is also a legit classic! Dont forget the RB fry sauce either..

Darn good burger! Fresh and tasty it came out exactly as ordered (picky husband the cheese curds and tater tots were amazing. The shakes were practically gone before we left the parking lot. Friendly staff! Well be back next time we drive through town.
