Quoin Rock - Winery in Noorder-Paarl, South Africa
Lovely winery. Our personal spot when we visited stellenbosch. Tasteful venue with a gorgeous view of the winery. amazing service and really good wine. Very recommended
I highly recommend Quions Rock . From the environment to the staff, everything is exceptional. I was there to celebrate my birthday and they gave me a cake .
Stylish venue but cold and indifferent service, crazy expensive wine tasting without a connection with a wine quality. The worst service we’ve experienced in all the Stellenboch area. I believe this place will work out only if you want to impress your guests during a private function but not for cozy wine-digging for your private cellar.
What a lovely experience. Everybody was so professional friendly and informed. Thank you for sharing Quoin Rocks beauty with us. Felt like a million dollar
Outstanding service, great wine and delicious food.
First visit to a winery, blown away by the attention to detail. The place is world class, got to experience waxing first hand. The staff 100/100. The variety of wines and lagers wow. Next time you are around Stellenbosh pay them a visit. You will be amazed
This is an amazing farm with espetacular breath taking views! It is directly lead by the owners. The owners are so friendly and makes you feel at home. Their team are amazing also, following their leadership. Thank you Bafana for the hospitality and great work. They have an amazing menu and great wines. 🍷 I really recommend it!
Truly a 5 start experience! I’d definitely go back again . We started out with a 5 course lunch menu where each course was paired with a specific wine , each to suit the food palate. The whole lunch took about 2 hours so make sure you are not in a hurry . During our lunch we had a guitarist playing some soothing music while we sat eating and drinking wine overlooking the mountains . The most top tier experience I’ve ever had. After lunch was over we had a chance to purchase some of the wines that we enjoyed while taking . After lunch they give you about 30-1 hr before they start preparing for the next sitting . Meanwhile you can still hung around the premises to take photos and just relax . It’s about 1 hour drive from Cape Town CBD to the vineyard and for 2 people the price was $150
What an incredible and intimate picnic experience! This was by far one of the best picnics I’ve ever had. The food, service, views and overall experience were excellent! Our waiter, Asher, was wonderful and attentive throughout the day and we loved that after our beautiful feast, we could relax with our wine on the beautifully set up lawn with blankets and mini bean bags.We had also ordered the vegan picnic for our bride-to-be and her food was excellent too.I highly recommend the picnic at Quoin Rock!
Their wines tastes exquisite however I find that their wine tasting and cheese platters are a bit pricey from the past wine tastings I have experienced. Beautiful vineyard with beautiful mountains views👌🏾
Best picnic ever, the view is breath taking. We enjoyed the delectable spread. From salad to meat(and combinationsto the dessert and Red Blend Wine . 🌟 🌟 Asha you are amazing, you made our day extra special.
We enjoyed a leisurely lunch here in the week.Things that stood out: The staff, wonderful service- very on top of it all the time, never an empty glass. The dessert: I am normally not intrigued by desserts and much prefer starters or mains, but their 3 options were all equally beautiful and tasted other worldly. The raspberry and banana option was however the all round winner at the table. The venue: what a view!Things that could have been slightly better:The restaurant was very hot inside, but I do have to add that we visited on an unseasonably hot autumn day.The fish main was a little underwhelming for me personally, while my brother loved it,so again, not any error on their part. The menu is fairly priced at about R650 for a three course and it is definitely a dining experience.
The views from this wine farm are worth seeing. From the surrounding mountains and hills, trees and greenery the scenery is breathtaking. The architecture of the building and spaciousness that it gives makes it a relaxing environment. Then there was wine, good tasting wines for the palate. And served by staff that love what they do. I was at home at Quoin Rock.
Best picnic ever was mentioned by all who enjoyed the delectable spread. From salad to meat(and combinationsto bread dessert and coffee. Here is an extra star 🌟
Wow it was fantastic. Definitely one oh the best winery and the best wine in South Africa. If youre into aesthetics, youll love this place. Wine tasting costs R 250 and it worths it.
Amazing views. Food out of this world food. Staff very professionable. An outstanding experience.
An absolutely stunningly beautiful place. You can see there was a lot of consideration and thought applied when they did the design of the place. they also made sure that they have little impact when there is Loadshedding, as they have an extensive solar system installed. The views on the lawn are stunning 😍 The stairs and entrance to the place is done in such a way that you pause and look and look again at the buildings, the layout and the beautiful view. The main entertainment hall is beautiful and elegantly designed with minimalism in mind. The seating and tables are well designed in such a way that it feels you are having a private wine tasting. We didnt book or have the opportunity to eat at the fine dining restaurant, but we will definitely be back to do just this.
Beautiful and breath-taking scenery. The food is great👌🏼
We had a delicious picnic. The venue, service and food were all fabulous. Thanks Quoin Rock, we will definitely be back!
Myself and the family visited Quoin Rock today to experience their tasting menu and what a memorable time it was. Everything was 5*, from the food (compliments to the chefto the hospitality from the team and to all the details that can make something truly exceptional. Definitely worth a visit!
Can’t comment on the food, but it looked excellent. But what I can share is that the wine and the venue are amazing. The staff knowledgeable, friendly, and just downright lekker! I was in stitches with a few stories from our server. Did I mention the venue and art is just amazing too. My wife said the reds were some her favorites in the Cape.
Quoin Rock situated in the Stellenboch area Knorhoek is a very popular venue for wine lovers in tasting or for purchase of wine. This amazing venue is also suitable for weddings or launches for special events or occasions. This is truly a venue that must be added to your list of favorites on the wine connoisseur or any other person
Had my engagement there this weekend and everything went smoothly. Thanks to the picnic coordinator and management. This is brilliant place and will definitely comeback. Thanks Quoin Rock for making this a perfect day.
Beautiful garden nice view fresh air love it 👍🏾
Most amazing experience. Above and beyond service from start to finish. From arrival the staff had me and my wife on their hands. Not one mistake was made in my opinion. They went out of their way, as nor me or my wife enjoyed the duck. Which was totally just our taste. Without asking any questions the kitchen prepared another course of sea bass (complementarywhich was highly appreciated as this was what we enjoyed the most and made the night extra special. Thank you for the memories made.
Very nice picnic and service. However, you should communicate that there is a festival on the property and you are going to hear loud dance music while trying to enjoy a peaceful picnic. We would have rescheduled for another weekend had we known.
What a great and amazing place to be. Great people and good service.
One of the best fine dining experiences I ve ever had
Visited Gåte Restaurant at Quoin Rock and tried the 5 course vegan tasting menu.😋What an amazing culinary experience...every course was cooked to perfection.Beautiful Restaurant, Beautiful surroundings.
Very classy wine estate. Absolutely stunning mountain views. Perfect setting in a captivating surrounding. The food selection is fantastic. Loved the fact that they cater for non-alcoholic drinks as well. Their gazebos for picnics are nice and private. The service is top notch. Perfection.👌
This is the best food I’ve had in my life!! Great place! Great ambience!I loved the place so much!!!
Lovely experience had the picknic and bought some wine was so relaxing and great selection
Great building with nice ambiance.Service was average. Not as good as expected. We where asked to order lunch before we even ordered beverages. Had to ask waiter several times to fill wine glasses etc.We had 5 course tasting menus. First fish course was very very salty. The cheff did replace it with the quail that you will not normally have with the tasting menu.Overall - underwhelming. Food average.
Beautiful setting attentive service & Excellent 5 course pairing menu!We will be back.
Stunning setting in a beautiful part of Stellenbosch outskirts...the entire experience is 5 star with excellent designed restaurant and excellent fine dining or smaller meals with wine tastings which are R250 for just wine tasting... The manager on duty and stuff were very attentive and well attired as well as professional...one can see the European influences from the design, service and food presentation... This is no ordinary wine farm/restaurant... This is fine dining at its best...
Just fabulous!! Amazing wine, amazing food, amazing service!
We celebrated our second wedding anniversary at Quoin Rock, and oh my heart! The weather was a little off and we were kept updated with what the weather was like, for just in case we needed to postpone our visit. Everything from our welcome to our see you soon was 5 stars!! Our picnic basket was exquisite and the service too. Id definitely recommend a visit to Quoin Rock, you will enjoy every second if it!
Best service I have ever had! Very well trained friendly staff. Outstanding food. Wow what a lovely day. Highly recommended.
Beautiful, beautiful😍The food, the wine🥰, everything about Quoin Rock was amazing! We had lost our reservation because we didnt confirm booking and they were fully booked for the day, but the manager was kind enough to find us a seat. For that, we are eternally grateful! We had a wonderful experience. I recommend Quoin Rock.
What a gem.Oppulance.Classy.Stylish.This is what separate the bottom from the top.Still have yo eat here...
Visited for a picnic on a Saturday afternoon. The food was absolutely delicious!!! And the setting was lovely, with each picnic table being relatively secluded, great distance from other people so no concerns about social distancing :D and also makes for a lovely picnic experience if you enjoy having some privacy, a great setting for a date. And the offering is gourmet but also quite substantial, my hubby and I both left full, and we werent able to get through it all.
A superb time feeling absolutely spoilt! Incredible service by Bongani and the Chardonnay is fantastic! Wine tasting is R250 per person which is pricey! But they also do chardonnay by the glass for R100 and the cheese platter is R250. Booking is a must!
The winery Quoin Rock and its gourmet restaurant Gate are a stunning combination of ultra modern architecture and breathtaking natural landscapes. It is incredibly beautiful in any weather. The dishes in the restaurant are amazingly beautiful and incredibly delicious. You are surrounded by the care of professional waiters, and if you are lucky, you will meet the charming and hospitable owners of the winery, who often have a diner here with their whole family. And here you can get magical photos :)This place is must-visit now in South Africa.
Only reason it isnt 5 is because of the impersonal service.. The food was easily the most amazing, creative, incredible menu Ive ever experienced. But Ive been to a lot of fine dining restaurants and Ive always loved feeling personality from the waiting staff, this place felt like theyd specifically been told to give zero personality, which felt very weird. But the food was quite honestly the best Ive ever encountered. Every single course made me tingle with excitement, Ive never been exposed to such an original menu. The only thing that is holding me back from returning is the fact that they have this stuffy boring vibe with the waiting staff, I dont get it because the staff are clearly awesome with personalities but theyre forced to act like robots. Odd decision by management.
Wedding with a twist, dining experience above the rest, hidden jewel, the description goes endless. This is wonderful place, not so known to many. Beautiful architect imported from Ukraine.
Ok this Restuarant Gåte is on another level. Everything from the entrance, parking, building structure, service is 7stars!!! Im yet to have a dinner experience, but we had a glass of wine and a charcuterie platter. Ill be back very soon. Exquisite place😚
GÅTE is arguably one of the best restaurants in South Africa, innovation and creativity is the order of the day. Chef Rikku and his team plates a diverse, creative and unexpected combinations that delight the palate. The aromas and flavours are just plain fantastic. Service is very good and the wine compliments the food very well. Enjoyed the 5 course lunch pairing with wine. The standout was the wild peacock, wow! Will be back without a doubt.
We went to Quoin rock for the lunch tasting menu. What a unique experience! All the dishes were so unique and nothing like ive ever had before. This restaurant is definitely in-it to win it and will be the next big thing! Cannot wait to have dinner here!
A culinary dream from which I did not want to wake!Chef Rikku, supported by Chef Ricki and Culinary Experience Consultant Skye Doust made it a bucket list banquet you need in your life right now!Creativity = Genius Level!Taste Buds had a Spa Day!Book now...Menu changes in Feb.
Quoin Rock Wine Estate and new restaurant Gate is one for the bucket list when visiting Cape Town. Each wine is a masterpiece on its own and when combined with the 16 course tasting menu at its new restaurant Gate it truly a life experience. The views, architecture, service, wines, and culinary delights are beyond words.
