Live entertainment at a hip gay venue offering a full bar & a menu of bar snacks.
Extremely unfriendly staff, performers, and PLEASE stay away from the bathrooms if you have substance abuse issues for your own safety… everyone is abusing substances in the bathrooms every single time I’ve been, more extreme than any bar I’ve ever been to. Along with vomit everywhere, on top of bathrooms not being stocked at all even on slow nights. You are better off going to any other amazing queer bars like Pony or WILDROSE where staff is welcoming and facilities are clean :)
If you are not what staff decides as “queer passing”- be prepared to be treated with the utmost disrespect in the most unwelcoming environment. I am a queer woman who moved to Seattle for the queer community and have loved every experience I’ve had… until now. Staff plays an EXTREME “gatekeeper” role no matter how friendly and respectful you are. Unless you have a handful of cash, of course. This venue has made me lose so much of my sense of queer community, and I grieve this loss. I will NEVER come back and will encourage others to do the same. Queer/Bar, be better… please.
Energy is amazing however… we paidFor a VIP table for two of us and had 3 different groups of people keep trying to take our table when we went outside even though it said reserved during the whole show…. Very little BIPOC queer people so keep that in mind, definitely more of a white space. Loved the performances
Queer by name NOT queer by nature. If you’re gay this not a venue for you. We were drawn in by the name but a BIG mistake- I could recount how bad it was it would take too long. In short AVOID
We went there on 7/21/22 for the first time and when we walked inside we were shocked by the LOUD sound. I’ve been to so many music festivals and clubs and nothing compares to how loud this place was. It was so uncountable that we left in less than 3 minutes. In fact, one of my ears is hurting right now. Not sure if the DJ was deaf, or the place was trying to intentionally blast everyone’s eardrums. My first experience left such a bad impression.
Went out late on a Friday night, queer bar was poppin! The energy was so fun, everyone was dancing and the DJ was playing good music. Our bartender Austin took the best care of us and made us amazing drinks. I asked for a surprise drink and was not disappointed, queer bar is the best! And I felt super safe while there:)
The security wouldn’t let my cousin back in because they said he didn’t pay. I asked if they had the ability to check the cameras to confirm he paid or can I speak with the manager to confirm. They brought out the security manager supposedly who told me no they could not check cameras and then that he had to cut my wrist band because I was being aggressive. I showed no sign of aggression so it had to be something else. I won’t express the conclusion I came to but take your money somewhere else, this place is lame.
Desperate for money? Poor little bar! Bar is empty. No wonder why? The doorman just asked tried to get a $10 cover at 1:40 am and they close at 2am. I wont be back. Go to Union Bar. No cover at 1 am.
I went with my boyfriend on a Friday night and it was dominated by straights, with parties of them reserving half of the seating. It felt more like a gay themed bar than a gay bar. Three stars for great food and service, but it’s not what I was expecting from a gay bar.
I have never had a problem with queer bar. On Saturday At the door I was with my friend and a really rude security guard accused me of having a fake military ID. I chose to walk away since arguing with him wouldve been pointless. I enjoyed my night later at some of the other bars. I went to 5 different bars and no one had a problem with my military ID. If your a soldier just bring your drivers license as well. Queer bar is great when youre in and the atmosphere is amazing and most of the security at most of the bars are ex vets. You may run into the occasional random, but unlikely since Ive been here for about 5 years now and thats the first time ever. Good luck and enjoy yourselves.
Where the straights go to see drag queens. Masc energy
Last night seeing bosco was amazing but we paid for a table where the website said “table service “ we did not get table service and we’re told it was because of omicron. Please change your website if we are still using covid as an excuse when the bar was jam packed with people. If you can deliver food and pick up glasses your servers can definitely take orders.
Id like to go
Pretty venue but not extremely exciting if I’m being honest. Used to be great a few years ago!
Enjoyed brunch drag. Was too loud for my taste
We were late on Saturday night and didn’t want to wait in line. So we were back for cold beers Tuesday evening, good selection of cocktails & eats on the menu.Clean, well-kept, fresh decore, comfy environment with a variety of seating areas: booths, small tables & chairs, bench seating, and the bar. Great ambient music.Small well-lit dance floor and if the dance music is as good as the background sounds, this will be a great place to dance on the weekend
This place is amazing! I love the atmosphere and the vibe that is created. It is a nice modern twist on your typical bar setting. I feel very high class coming here as everything is clean and nicely decorated. I typically order bar food and regret it because its just average or mediocre, however that is not the case here. I got the chicken wings and DANG that was bussin. I also appreciate how friendly the staff was!
Worst place ever. Guy said that I was too drunk when I didn’t even drinking so I couldn’t get in
Love coming here! I’m glad that you guys finally reopened!
$5 cover and the only vodka they have is Absolut. Basic Top 40 music. Nothing special.
I met my sweetie pie, Glenn, at this wonderful establishment. Its clean, nice and the people who work here are devine!
Fun cute bar with a nice front seating. The stage is bit odd as it’s in the far back and only viewable by the vip sears or a narrow passage way. Still fun and full of characters
Great bar to have a fun and interactive night! Great shows regularly, friendly staff, and great game/trivia nights. Also has some great food if you start your night early..you have to try the jalapeño corn fritters. And don’t forget the tiny bar upstairs.
I booked reservations at this venue for my sisters 50th birthday party. My party was not disappointed! The show was awesome ! Even though the menu was simple, the food was delicious. The event coordinator was very passionate about making the night perfect and the staff did not disappoint. I will definitely come back!
such a great fun positive environment with some fabulous drag queens
Honestly I didnt know how to feel about this bar when it first opened because it replaced my favorite gay bar but its seriously grown on me and become one of my favorite LGBTQ bars. Its a very mixed crowd with patrons from all across the LGBTQ spectrum. Great drag shows on the weekend and the best part is there is almost like a speakeasy upstairs. Just walk down the hallway like you are going to the bathroom and youll find stairs to their super cool speakeasy lounge. Upstairs lounge is only open on the weekend.
Bouncer wouldnt let me in because he felt my Texas drivers license was in his words off. A bar shouldnt hire bounciers who cant tell the difference between valid and fake Ids.
Fun spot to go for events: Burleskaraoke or drag burlesque! Good vibe.
the bartender was super nice and it was a great vibe!
Great staff, delicious food, strong drinks, lots of Fun!
Nice people, awesome atmosphere and an overall great time.
17.50 for a martini... yes that’s a martini in a TUMBLER!! Tiny place, well decorated, odd lines for drinks... seems to be very over priced, and seems like you get faster service if you know the bartender...
Great place!
Amazing Place. GREAAAT PPL!
A must place to visit for gay folks visiting the Seattle area. Beautiful atmosphere with a dancefloor/stage, and large proyectors perfect for show premieres and events. Even the outside bar name is perfect for a photo op. Perfect for a night out with friends.
First time here and I love it allllllll. The mini bar up stairs is my fav.
Nice bar, paying cover and getting my drinks taken before I finish then is kind of annoying. Probably aa better for people from out of town.
Les cocktails sont fortement alcoolisés. La salle a du potentiel pour une soirée dansante, je suis curieux dy retourner un samedi soir.
Lovely people, good service, great beer, fun vibes. If only I could have gotten over my social anxiety and talked to some people.
Cute little bar with a nice dance floor.Bartenders are quick and they can give you great recommendations.
Hannah my bartender was so sweet! She took care of me and my friends and made us feel welcome. I asked for a old fashioned (not exactly a club drink right?and she made it happen even though they were low on the supplies. Thank you queerbar and Hannah!
Queer/Bar is changing the scene of Capitol Hill LGBTQ+ nightlife! When Purr relocated I just knew another bar that didn’t cater to the community of Capitol Hill was destined to replace it as it had a prime location. Luckily Joey brought Queer/Bar to the Pike/Pine corridor and has stepped up the game for all other bars located on the Hill. The drag show MX is beyond amazing and they even had a drag king by the name of Sean Nyte perform a few weeks ago. I’ve lived in Seattle for 5 years and have never once seen a drag king brought into an established drag show. The bar staff is kind and the cocktails are strong. Keep up the amazing work Queer/Bar staff!
Place is great but there’s no ambiance; the lights are way too bright... they should bring a piano player, make it more like a lounge feeling
Queer/Bar has become my go to place for going out with my friends. I mostly go on Tuesdays for their excellent trivial with Chris and Colin, but cannot complain one bit about my time there in terms of the bar.The staff is fast and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. In hopes of exploring the fullness of queer identity, Queer/Bar uses its space for rotating art exhibit space — and doesnt mind engaging kink culture with it. The food menu is vegetarian, which may be a turn off to some people, but its pretty good vegetarian food. The seating options at Queer/Bar invite a variety of gatherings, from an after-work cocktail with friends to sitting and having a meal. The weekly shows are very fun, and they have spectacular graphic design. Give Queer/Bar and chance or three, and you wont be disappointed.
Fantastic performances and fast, friendly bar service
Good vibes and definitely go see the MX show every Friday and Saturday night!
Fun, inviting, fantastic menu and all around great environment to be around.
