My friends in Singapore told me that Queen’s Lane Coffee House has the best scone. I came and tried it. The cream was fresh, and adding the jam gave another dimension to the taste. It was simply heavenly. Yum yum!!!Today, I tried several more dishes; they were equally as tasty. Time flew past when I was enjoying myself.Would I revisit this place when I am back in Oxford? 100%!!!Thank you to the wonderful waiting staff too. They were friendly and helpful.

An extremely disappointing lunch. Was looking forward for lunch here and ordered a baguette. It was hardly filled, tiny bit of tuna and few green leafs. I did not enjoy it at all and bread was difficult to bite. I fed back to the staff and they were not helpful either.Never visiting there again

The food was good but a little salty. The service was okay. I would have liked more airflow while inside. The historic nature of this place cool to visit though, being the oldest coffee house in the world dating back to 1764.

Staff were efficient and friendly. The coffee was however disappointingly warm rather than hot. There was no complementary biscotti either which given the price was also disappointing.

My favourite coffee house in Oxford with superb Turkish coffee and delicious baklava. The staff too are very amiable. A must!

This was a very underwhelming meal. I ordered the Nicoise salad and it was basically mesclun with canned tuna dumped on top, plus a few small bits of tomatoes and chunks of cucumbers plus some avocado slices. The key elements to Nicoise include green beans, halved hard boiled eggs, and *Nicoise olives*, along with Nicoise dressing, but none of those were on this salad. I had to ask for dressing and then the only choices were French, Caesar, or oil and vinegar (that you apply separately yourself). How they pass this off as a Nicoise salad is a mystery. Be forewarned: you have to take the menu description literally. Except it just says tuna with olives & avocado, and I didnt even get the olives! What a ripoff. They clearly capitalize on their claim that theyre the oldest coffeehouse in Europe, and thats not even true; the establishment across the street pre-dates them. Stay away.

Fish and chips - the mushy peas were dry. The fish was burnt on the outside and mush in the middle. The eggs on toast were over cooked and the yolks solid. When asked for lemon for the fish a rotten wedge was given. Staff didn’t care. Avoid like the plague.

A good coffee place in a very historical part of the city. I had a cappuccino and it was good, but food wise we were very disappointed with our breakfast at Queens lane coffee house this morning . Me and my partner have been going there since before the pandemic and always had a good experience regarding food and costumer service , but this morning we were dissatisfied. We ordered some bagels and scrambled eggs with salmon and hollandaise sauce and it was very unpleasant and tasteless. The bagel looked as it was old and was dry, the eggs were very thick and not soft and the whole dish was not good. I would also like to mention that the costumer service was not good either. I hope they can review this things for the future.

The place is nice and very well placed, but the food is disgusting. We ordered bagel with scrumbled eggs and salmon and the bagel was so dry we barely couldnt cut it with the knife, the scrambled egg was a thick mass of egg that made the whole thing so big we had to cut it for eating it.Besides, the waiter was unwelcoming and we didnt feel ok being there. It wasnt our first time, and some others have been alright because we ordered english breakfast and the staff was different, but the place has changed after pandemic and I truly dont recommend it anymore

Our experience was ruined by a hostile waiter - he was entirely incompetent and unfriendly. Not only was he unable to tally up simple maths for our bill (by which the other, far nicer waitress was also obviously annoyed about), but upon finding a hair in my friend’s food, he first denied its existence, refused to apologise and instead snatched the plate away, merely saying “we can’t do anything considering this is half-eaten.” To preface, this was before asking for a refund, a new plate or any compensatory measure anyway - the hair was not visible until halfway through. He was very disrespectful, the 1/3 refund issued was not appropriate and neither was his behaviour.

Historic and delicious with friendly, inexpensive, down-to-earth service in an extraordinary location. We really enjoyed the Greek Salad, Turkish Ciabatta, and Turkish Coffee with Turkish Delight for dessert. If its Europes oldest coffee shop, even the better - but itd be a great spot even if not.

Conveniently located, offering a small but filling array of dishes alongside their pleasant coffee options. Grab a seat by a window, overlooking the main Street or queens lane, if you plan a couple of hours of relaxed working lunch!

Super high prices, below average food. Ordered food, nothing fancy just paninis. Thirty minutes passed since ordering and still no lunch, however in that time another table were seated, order taken, food served (which was same as what we orderedfinished eating and their plates cleared away before we even received ours. Politely asked when we might expect our sandwiches and was told there was an ‘issue’ in the kitchen. A few minutes later food arrived quite obviously rushed out as it looked sloppy and was cold (it was supposed to be a hot melted cheese panini). Super long wait, below average food and high prices, no apology from staff or offer for discount despite then knowing we had waited a long time. Paid in full as couldn’t be bothered to dispute however would recommend going literally anywhere else.

Its a very well located, cute coffee shop. They say its the oldest coffee house here.Lots of seating space. Option of sitting outside as well. Excellent service. I wouldnt say its cheap but its not too expensive either. Costs pretty much the same as all other coffee houses nearby.

They charged me 50p extra for a little almond milk and 50p extra because I asked for Decaff!!! Surely the greediest cafe in Oxford? £6.35 for a croissant and extremely average coffee. London prices dont match this absolute rip off.

The place did not come up to any expectations. We sit for a tea and a quick bite, but the food was far below the average and too overpriced for the quality and quantity. I ordered a burger as a safe option (supposed to be the shops highlightand came out to be the worst burger ever had. It was just a beef patty between two 1/3 of a panini with no sauce, cheese or salad or any other topping. Just a patty between 2 breads, which was also over-cooked on the outside and still raw and watery on the inside with a very poor texture; obviously straight from the freezer onto the grill. When I kindly asked the staff to speak to the kitchen to see if anything can be done, I received what is shown in the pictures below. Disrespectful at least and disgusting to be served that over-burned thing, thrown on a plate. I would not even give that to a starving stray animal. Gladly the manager was willing to scratch it off the bill. The fish and chips my friend selected, also very poor, shoggy on the outside, dry on the inside, tasteless, with undercooked chips. At least the tea was potable. Steer clear of it, or at least of youre brave enough, visit it but dont get anything from the above. Stay with some tea. Hope the place has a word with the kitchen, because this behavior kills the great attitude of the rest of the staff working there.

Terrible. Do not order a cream tea here. It was inedible. First they delivered the scones still in a frozen state. Then the replacements arrived that had been split and put under grill. What we got was toasted crumpets with soggy middles. For the privilege I £18!! Poor waitress apologised not the manager did not have the balls to come and speak to dissatisfied customer. Should not have paid anything but didn’t want the hassle.

One among the oldest coffee shops in the world which opened in 1654. The feeling of that is what attracted us. Tried their Turkish coffee which claims to be the best, but in my opinion was nothing special. Definitely haved tastes many best ones in the Gulf. The ambiance is ok and give the feel. The prices are slightly on the higher side, maybe due to the long standing history. Can definitely give a try to have a try. The fish n chips and tropical smoothie was ok.

I went on a walking tour that introduced me to th oldest coffee house in Europe. Of course I had to visit and have a coffee here. I didnt have an ordinary coffee, but a Turkish coffee with Turkish Delight. I also ordered a strawberry cheesecake which was probably the best cheesecake I have ever eaten. The cheesecake was super creamy and smooth and the perfect amount. The coffee was strong and so yummy. The service was excellent and very quick, I didnt wait for more than 10 minutes for my order. The waitress was friendly but I was in and out, I didnt have a good interaction with her. All in all, this place as lovely decor, yummy cakes and strong coffee. Theres not more you could ask for.

Never going again. I was told this was a good little cafe in Oxford. Having never been, and extremely ravenous after a work out, I thought Id give it a go. Everytime I tried to took into my food, there would be a bee hovering about. Staff swatted them away, moved to 3 different tables until I simply couldnt eat my food, they were all over it! Food was good! Gave a few stars because at least I got some money back for my troubles, but only because I asked! Just posting so I hope they acknowledge this problem and sort it out

On a cold Saturday afternoon after walking around multiple colleges and museums in Oxford, this coffee house serves a range of classic items from fish and chips to tea with scones. The scones we ordered were warm but very dry and the apple pie tasted very soggy and store bought. The prices were reasonable and service was prompt. Would visit again as I was not keen on the posh places around me.

My wife and I stopped in for some tea, coffee and food. The wait staff was on it, we were greeted and sat promptly at the door, drinks were taken and gathered immediately and we weren’t kept waiting to order food either. We had the chicken shepherds pie with potatoes. A very heavy and tasty meal. Also great view of one of the central areas of Oxford.

The day after the night before, feeling rather worse for a night out. I popped in here as the smell of breakfast and coffee drew me close.Well I have to say the staff were lovely and friendly (It was the start of the day, and the rush had still to come). My coffee was just perfect, nice and strong with the type of flavour that a chain will never be able to get right. I had a lovely spot people watching as locals and tourists atr various breakfasts that looked and smelt amazing. If your in town you should pop in, but dont expect more than good honest food, drink and service.

Nice cappuccino, decently fast service, but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered a steak sandwich and I felt like chewing on a piece of an old shoe, which makes it impossible to eat properly. Fries were decent though. Despite the food, the place was cosy and quite enjoyable.

3 for breakfast having fruit salad, porridge with berries and a full English plus 2 Irish breakfast tea and 1 black coffee for £28.60 including tip. Food was excellent and service was ok. This is the oldest coffee house in Europe according to them. Busy but patrons moved through quickly yet no sense of being rushed. We’ll go back soon.
