Designer interiors and a menu of coffee from around the world gives this venue a fashionable feel.
One of the best independent coffee shops in Birmingham. Great coffee that is roasted on site and really nice crockery.
I visited the Quarter Horse Coffee cafe on 05.11.22 and was highly impressed by the service that was provided. I have dietary requirements and Siobhan handled it so brilliantly. She scanned through the menu and created a delicious meal suitable for my dietary needs. Scott, the chef cooked everything to perfection and the presentation as seen in the photos was excellent! I will definitely be coming back here again and recommend anyone thinking of popping in to do so- you will not be disappointed. Thanks again. :)
To be perfectly honest, this place isnt in a great location. I went out of my way to go there because the reviews were so good. Thankfully it was worth the detour. Not only was this the best coffee that Ive had in Birmingham, but it was the best coffee Ive had this year.I chose a flat white, and it was presented beautifully. You can tell the staff here care about their product. But it wasnt just style over substance. The flavour was exceptional. A really enjoyable experience, and next time Ill bring my kids too so they can enjoy it too. Magnificent.
Amazing food, the place is quite nice!! Theres vegan and gluten free options.
Exceptional service , the barista behind the bar they know what they are doing.Best banana bread I have ever had with yogurt and honey .You have to try it if you are around .I have bought some coffee from them online but came here and tried it in the shop I think its the best coffee roaster in Birmingham.
Came here for breakfast as we were staying in the area, all the staff were lovely. The food and drinks were nice and priced really great as well!! Definitely recommend!
I visit regularly and usually have no complaints. The food and coffee is unquestionably very good. However on a Sunday morning they could not cope with the amount of orders. Our food came 45 mins after the coffee, and my girlfriends 10 minutes before mine. The staff were unapologetic when I queried if the food was ready. I asked for sauce when I ordered and again when my food arrived and this arrived after I had finished. I would avoid this place at weekends. Had I not already paid, I would have held back on what is not a cheap breakfast place.
Can be super cold in the winter months as theres quite a draft. The staff are friendly and approachable, the food is good quality and really nice as are the drinks. Lots of choice! Can even buy some of their merch and other wares.
Excellent bunchHighly recommendDelicious and tasty food
Fantastic food, friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. Quarter Horse is a gem among coffee shops, their inclusive menu and excellent in-house roasted coffee is a must.My partner and I went for brunch, and we were pleasantly filled. This is not our first visit and nor will it be our last.
I’ve been coming to this coffee shop for four years. The coffee is incredible, and the food is outstanding! The Heirloom Tomato Bruschetta is genuinely the best lunch in Birmingham. The veggie and vegan offerings here are so good that it’s turned me from someone who would always default to a bacon sandwich (which is also delicious hereto someone who always tries their newest veggie meal. 10/10
Loved their seasonal espresso (Roan from Ethiopia)-- very floral and pleasant. Not the typical flavour notes you associate with espresso. Loved it so much that I took a bag home to use on my rig...just make sure to extract SLOWLY (1:2 ratio in 40secs)The Moolah Manay from India was lovely (I do love my anaerobic fermented beansand for some reason reminds me of Cadbury Fruit and Nut especially the raisin smell...V60 is the way to go!Will definitely get more beans from them in the future. Support Local! Support independent Brum businesses!
Hi, this was supposed to be a less favourable review but read more to see why I think they are still one of the best if not the Best coffee house in Birmingham. I keep returning to QHC for some years now and I expect nothing but excellent quality products and great service. I was a bit disappointed with the service today despite very good quality products (btw their taster espressos cured me of long covid smell and taste loss!), but minor issues which I would not even bother to look for in a chain coffee place but when youre used to the fresh air of top mountains you smell the whiff of the faintest bad odor. I raised my issues with Siobhan because Paul was not there and I was blown away by the way she took them on. It was not a great day for them with several unexpected malfunctions in staff and equipment, yet the place was buzzing and she was helping out at every corner and with every customer. Nevertheless she took the time to explain to me the reasons for the problems I raised, she offered to make up for these minor mishaps, all in a very respectful, polite manner despite the obvious difficult day. The discussion could have gone easily awkward, yet Siobhan is a master of offering excellent customer service. She won me hands down and I cannot recommend this place enough. Hope you continue to trade for a long time. And if you can please expand and grow.
Quarter Horse Takes coffee seriously. The expertly made coffee combined with the atmosphere and the fresh food makes for a consistently cosy spot. A great location for a coffee connoisseur, or anyone else for that matter!
Great coffee and atmosphere. Food was also quite delicious. One of the staff was helpful with bean recommendations!
Superb coffee upon stumbling across this place. ‘Trendy’ minimalist style setting with a clear niche of target clientele. But, produced the goods when it came to a delicious Cappuccino. Only downside is the 10minute wait despite being only second in the queue. Would return in future
Exeptional sourdough made in house! Simple and light menu but everything we tried was tasty and good quality.Place is airy with an industrial interior design look, ppl and music gives a positive vibe to the space... we’ll come back!
High quality coffee. They have their own roster . But they have limited dessert options.
Great coffee. The food over all is fantastic. I would recommend the avocado on sourdough! I personally ordered the Ful Maddamas which was okay… the bean stew was a bit tasteless and a little over priced compared to the other options. The cafe has a relaxing, friendly vibe and the staff are very attentive.I would recommend a visit.
Friendly fast and delicious! We were onour way to tour the Uni. Had a beautiful and delicious latte, an almond croissant and a breakfast nap with lamb harissa sausages, egg and avalado. All excellent. Staff were super friendly and helpful despite me being a little crabby.
Lets keep this one simple. Quarter Horse is, without a shadow on a doubt Birminghams best independent coffee shop, a great space flooded with the fragrances of their own roastery, great coffee, great food, great staff. These guys are absolutely smashing it. Youll soon get hooked.
Went here for a brunch and it was well worth the walk. Actually ended up buying a couple packs of beans on my way out.
Just a coffee review. Popped in after my bro in law mentioned fresh roastery - on my doorstep. Why did I not know about this little gem before ? Just picked up a latte - smooth, rich delicious coffee with lush milk work - will be back to try the cafe. Ty quarter horse coffee. Birmingham is on the map!
Best coffee ever! If only every coffee place was like this. Also by virtue of it being a roastery, you can get a bag of freshly roasted beans for £6-7. Makes you realise how stale supermarket coffee beans are by the time they reach shelves.
Best branch cafe in Bham x10/10 for food and coffee, but 100/10 for staff and service :if you want special weekend morning, then this is place for you.
Absolutely amazing, staff are lush and food is all freshly prepped and it shows!Super lovely and good atmosphere.
Avocado breakfasr must try, dilicious
Top tier coffee, stylish uplifting atmosphere, an absolute banging brunch and very sweet staff! Was just passing through Birmingham and was so happy to find this place. Spent a few hours working on my laptop and had multiple rounds of coffee - 5/5 experience. Thank you!
Ordered coffee beans because they advertise next day delivery. Ordered Thursday still waiting on Monday. Now received beans and they are **great** so review adjusted accordingly. But if a next day delivery is promoted perhaps they could advise that orders placed on a Thursday afternoon will take until Monday morning to be delivered.
Quarter Horse definitely lives up to the hype! Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. The coffee was exceptional - these guys roast their beans fresh on site, and it really shows in the quality of their coffee. Staff were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to help. Quite possibly my new favourite brunch spot in Brum!
Great cafe and best tasting coffee in Birmingham, in my opinion. Stuff is always friendly. I used to like a lunch deal of soup and a sandwich (not sure if this one is still on, but was an amazing deal and very tasty). I recently tried their coffee subscription and had some teething issues (coffee was ground too fine for my machine). Nathan was extremely helpful and send me a replacement coffee ground at two different grades so I can figure out what works best for my machine. Outstanding customer services!
Gorgeous food and Coffee what more do you need after a night out on the town 👍
Consistently Excellent coffee, some of the best in the city! Ive been here twice and ordered a Cappuccino and Eggs Florentine each time. The first time I went, the coffee was so rich and fresh and the Florentine was prepared perfectly. It is nice that the shop puts so much information about the beans on display- their location, flavors, strength. The second time I went, the coffee tasted a bit different and a kind barista explained to me that this could be due to the shipping time of the beans. This really showed that the workers here actually care about the beverages they prepare and know their stuff! This place should be every coffee-lovers go-to in Birmingham.
Love it! I ordered 2 bags of coffee beans, ethiopian and columbian beans. A brioche with vegan sausages and smashed avocados with tomato sauce. I so loved it! Plus a cup of very good flat white on the side.🥰 Id definitely come back.Addition to that, Staff were nice and friendly. Dogs can go inside and stay so its a 10/10 place😇
Absolute favourite cafe in Birmingham. Was very excited to see they have a new menu which I tried out with my partner today - the chefs are incredible! Had the sweet dutch pancakes, partner had the mushroom bruschetta, highly recommend both. Coffee is delicious (to drink in or to buy a bag yourself!), customer service very friendly.
Had a lovely experience here, real highlight of my trip to Birmingham. Staff were lovely and the coffee was great. Good selection of food that was served promptly. Highly recommended.
Smart funky place with excellent coffee and a simple, elegant and affordable brunch menu. Lamb harissa sausage and smashed avo brioche bun was absolutely the best brekkie bap I’ve ever had. Get the homemade tomato sauce!!! Staff were very polite and friendly also!!
Ive Been coming here since it initially opened the first week I think it was.... best coffee in Birmingham.. they also roast coffee beans here. Different blends etc. Has a amazing aroma. Great staff. Indoor and outdoor terrace seating. Only reason I cant visit is the new clean air zone. Shame.. as this is the best place in Birmingham for a flat white or filtered coffee.
Go and get a great tasting coffee. There are tables outside in the back. Its lovely and so are the team.
Incredible food with generous servings, great coffee of course and always friendly staff, have been here with several sizes of groups and am very impressed with the service and a lovely little outside seating area. inside can be noisy if roasting/(grinding?machinery of the coffee house half is going but have only encountered that once on a quiet day when plenty of (quieteroutside seating was available. Highly Recommended for brunch 👍
Wonderful selection of coffee and a cut above the norm. Friendly staff and a great menu. Free parking right outside the door. Highly recommended!
Best coffee in town and great baked goods. Very friendly staff.Even nicer with the remodeling.
Maybe the best coffee in Birmingham. Nice cafe atmosphere with good choice of food and cakes. Little out of the main city centre shopping area so less busy.
Stopped here after a friend recommended the coffee! He was not wrong. I enjoyed a flat white amongst the plywood decor and Edison bulb lighting. This place is vibey and the coffee was fantastic. Plenty of seating and an outdoor area if the weather is nice enough. Will definitely visit again!
Absolutely loved it here. Great vibe and really good coffee 👌☕Its really nice to see a dedicated store that sells coffee bits too.The coffee itself was a really good price, especially for the specialty coffee, that really impressed me.Staff were friendly and chatty which is always nice 😊Will definitely be coming back 👍
1 the best coffee houses in the country , definitely in Birmingham. The service is excellent everytime I go. and the coffee is outstanding as always . I like to visit coffee houses around the country and love coming across some that serve Quarter Horse beans. The space is a modern and fresh atmosphere the glassware is impressive some of my fav espresso cups from any cafe . A must if in Birmingham and you wants some of the worlds best coffee.
This place is super trendy, but the coffee is great, as is the food. I had just marmite on toast on my first day there, and it was hands down the fanciest marmite on toast I’ve ever had- but worth it. With healthy choices on a limited but varied menu, this coffee house is perfect, especially if you’re staying at the Ibis Budget.
Great little place for some peace and quiet. Decent coffee with some really friendly staff. A bit out of the way but worth it, especially to see them roasting coffee on site!
This is a great little place that we discovered. We ordered two cappuccinos which did not disappoint. The coffee was good, strong and creamy. The place itself is very open and light and there’s flyers and brochures about events happening in Birmingham which you can take. The guy who served us was very friendly. Overall I would recommend this place.
These guys have respect for coffee. Had a delicious flat white with great aroma. They roast their own beans. Cool place, will come again. Staff was friendly and the music was good. Cheers!
