Purple Tomato in Lincoln

I wish the Tomato could find its pre-COVID swagger again. I used to look forward to grabbing pre-cooked meales, groceries, meats, wines, cheeses here while at our weekend house in NWoodstock. Past few visits, Ive found the selections thin and prices fat. I was always happy to pay the premium for local and non-commodity meats, but $14 six packs of Moat, and the lean butcher counter selections have turned me off.

The lobster roll tasted so fresh and delicious. Quite generous amount of lobster too. $21.99 + tax. Cute outdoor area you can sit and eat.

We were up north for a weekend concert and picked up lunch two days in a row. We got salads the first day and sandwiches the second day. Everything was delicious and we would not hesitate to go back and order again

Its a little store but they make sandwiches you can sit out at the picnic tables and eat and is all fresh or organic food

Great spot for sandwiches. Pleasant staff. We simply had a BLT and a turkey avacado sandwiches. Great quality and price.

3 of us adults walked in and were never greeted or asked if we wanted to do a tasting. Left after being in there after 1/2 hr. There were 2 other people in there.

Terrific selection of local products! I especially love the variety of local sodas- goes great with their sandwiches. Perfect place to stop before a hike!

Good lunch place with very good lobster roll ($21.99and lots of choices for drinks from wines to hard ciders and beers. Store also had lots of unique snacks

No hot peppers and only wraps available as location can not get bread according to staff. Neat little store though.

Amazing spot! Sandwiches are made to order and great when they are available. A small but well curated selection of local beer. Loved the local farm fresh eggs! Give this local spot a shot next time youre going to the market

After a bad experience at Portland Maine for a lobster roll at Luke’s , I decided to give this place a chance when I was passing by and it was one of the best lobster rolls I had, the bun was toasty buttery and so much lobster and the price was less than the lobster roll I had in Maine. It was so delicious!! you have to try it !!

ATTENTION GLUTEN FREE PEEPS!!!Stopped by for snacks, because that’s usually what happens to me, but then EVERYTHING changed when I found out I could get a GLUTEN FREE LOBSTER ROLL!!! As a 14 year celiac survivor it’s been that long since I’ve had a proper lobster roll and The Purple Tomato delivered the most scrumptiously tender, packed to the brim, roll of succulent lobster meat I think I’ve EVER had. Perfect ratio of claw, tail, and knuckle meat, just lightly kissed with mayo. My only regret is that I didn’t get a photo before I scarfed it down. Guess I’ll have to go back tomorrow for another!! They also offer tons of GFree snacks and homemade GFree desserts! If you’re in the White Mountains, make it a point to get off Rt 93 at Exit 32 and treat yo self!!

Love, love, love this place. The sandwiches and always good - the lobster rolls are among the best Ive ever had. Also a great stop for produce, and specialty groceries and snacks. I was able to find the alkaline water I love, and they had some amazing desserts too.

I’m going back for another Lobster Roll today! Tons of awesome wine, Keto snacks, and local honey to choose from. My kids loved the Whoopie Pies!

Oh My god that lobster roll. 3 years later still the best lobster roll my mouth has ever tasted. I had to Google local lobster rolls to find the name of the shop cuz I forgot and I saw the counter and bingo that was it!!!! I can’t wait to be here again.

Fine selection of quality items.Went today 5/22/2020 for a curbside pickup of a cheesecake. Sent a text when we got there and the were out in less than a minute with the cake. Again, great service (as alwaysbut today reaffirms why we shop local.Thank you Purple Tomato for the great service...again.

Looks like they have a little of everything. Picked up some locally made kitty treats. The pies look amazingly delicious and would have bought one if we lived closer. Love a quaint store. Friendly staff.

Stopped for lunch on our drive home. Delicious, healthy options for both vegetarian/vegans and meat eaters. I had an avocado veggie sandwich and my husband had turkey with blueberry cheese - both on their homemade multigrain bread. So good! Will definitely come again if we’re passing through Lincoln.

We ordered a Turkey and blueberry cheese sandwich to share $7. It was a good size for a light lunch. We also bought some tea & organic ginger ale.This store is definitely targeting a healthy, clean-eating crowd. The employees were very cheerful and accomodating. They were able to recommend other places to see & things to do while on vacation.

Very good selection of sandwiches.They also have an assortment of local produce. I particularly loved their selection of hot sauces and bought a couple. The icing on the cake was the key lime pie. Delicious!!

We had an amazing lobster roll for $14.99. It was loaded with lobster claws and just a touch of mayo. The store is very eclectic with a huge assortment of healthy foods, chips, salsas,spreads, cookies and brownies, as well as honey sticks. We were lucky to be able to eat outside, no inside seating. Staff wad friendly and helpful.

They do a nice job especially with unusual and unique items. From the outside youd think it shouldnt be successful.... but in a town where the best steaks are at the gas station and the best produce is on the way to lost river....Why not? Its Lincoln at its finest.

Lobster roll very tasty. The roast beef was very good quality although the sandwich could do with a little bit of mustard. Overall good and a bit pricey.

Its small but it has good selections of healthy choices to get by. I stopped by on the way to VT. Ill very likely visit this place again in the future. Maybe one of these days, theyll increase choices of hot beverages to go with their delicious pies/cakes.

Their home-made 4,000 footer bar is to this day one of my favorite snacks ever. The produce is super fresh and local. Great selection of protein/granola bars and snacks to take on the trails.

What a lovely find. Very adult style mini grocery store with associated liquor store 2 down. Curated list of local and interesting groceries/produce:gifts, also makes sandwiches. We will definitely be coming back!!

Purple Tomato is a great place to grab a quick lunch. I had the Turkey sandwich with maple something or other on it and it was fantastic. The sandwich was simple but attention to detail was what made this great. Because it is a sandwich counter within a small market, I was able to look around and grab a bag of chips and a drink (carbonated maple water!while I waited for my sandwich to be made. The shop is spread out over two small stores within the plaza and they have many locally made or organic things. We got a puff snack made from brussel sprouts for the car ride home!

Expensive but good selection of organic and local foods. Not a ton of fresh veggies, but very friendly staff

Nice to have the option to purchase farm fresh organic food in the midst of a tourist area. The store was not well ventilated (if at all), very stifling and unfortunately the produce suffered. When I asked for help finding a sugar free option for a marinade, the associate could not help me but instead pointed me in the direction of salad dressings.

After a weekend of burgers and fries, we were in desperate need of something healthy. Purple Tomato saved the day! The prepared food was very fresh and there were a ton of options. The staff was also patient and answered all of our questions without making us rushed, despite the long line behind us. And the owner seemed pretty nice too :)

Fantastic lobster rolls! They also have a large selection of other goodies including some homemade candies - try the PB cups. Some locally grown fresh produce. Specialty sodas. Friendly service with nice outdoor seating.

Good sandwiches. A bit pricey, but the quality makes up for it. There was a bit of a wait to order and then again for the food to be prepared, but it was crowded and the sandwiches are made to order, so that is to be expected. There are also plenty of options for chips, drinks, produce, and other groceries.

I try to stop here every time I pass through Lincoln. I love that they have so many local products. And their sandwiches are AMAZING! The maple basil mustard is the best thing that ever happened to a sandwich.

This was our 2nd visit. Great sandwiches (gluten free optionsand gourmet goodies. Sidewalk cafe tables available but next time we are going to pack for a picnic.

My husband, 2 children and I stopped in at this shop/restaurant today...we had such a great lunch (lobster rolls were delicious). The owner came out while we were eating and answered some questions about local attractions and fun things to do. Very helpful, pleasant staff. I would highly recommend the Purple Tomato!

Great little natural and organic market place with an added bonus of a sandwich and salad window.My daughter had a burrito and she said it was the best she had, and I had the BLT which was fabulous, for something so simple, it to was probably the tastiest Ive had. Good stuff and great products are sold here.

Love this place! We always stop here for lunch when hiking in the area. Their sandwiches are amazing and the staff is always really friendly. One day I went in for to grab a sandwich to take on a hike with me. I was chatting with one of the owners as he made the sandwich and after he had wrapped it up in paper I had mentioned that I planned to have the sandwich on the summit, so he took it back and wrapped it in plastic for me so it wouldt get soggy. I thought that was a really nice touch!

They have the best BLTs with heirloom tomatoes, fresh local lettuce and crispy bacon... and Strawberry PB&Js are the best on the east coast. This place doesnt disappoint and the staff is proud of their local produce. They also carry more of my favorite niche products than the average Whole Foods Market, like the Epic paleo meat bars from Austin, TX. Great service, great food, great store.
