One of the best places for breakfast in the area. They have also re-opend for dinner and need to try it at some point.

Purple Cow is great. Get there early as they fill up quick!

The food portions were large and tasty and prices were affordable. I would like to visit again to try lunch and dinner.

This was our first trip to Maine and we stumbled across The Purple Cow - EPIC! Large quantity for the price, homemade and delicious! Staff were super friendly and professional!

Drive thru or eat in diner. 50’s diner style and food. Excellent seafood 🦞 chowder, grilled cheese sandwiches and service. Betty Boop memorable.

I recommend the hash and the ranch chicken wraps . Great prices, love the drive thru option.

We went to the Purple Cow for dinner. We both had pot roast, mashed pot, with gravy & carrots. The food was really good and the portions are large.

Fantastic breakfast! We went there on a Sunday morning after church, so there was quite a wait. It was worth it.The pancakes are gigantic, so be careful about how many you get haha. The muffins, eggs, hash, pancakes, French toast are all delicious.The wait staff is friendly and efficient.Well definitely be back there.

I grew up coming here. It was always delicious and fast, great service. I brought my friends here and we sat ourselves as the sign said. No one came over until 20 minutes later, then she took our order and didn’t come back with our drinks for another 20 minutes. They staff was unwelcoming and plain rude. Didn’t think breakfast would take 2 hours..Edit: the table who came after us got their food before us and the waitress put in an order of hash browns well after we ordered and it came out well before our food even touched the table.once our food finally got here it was cold.

My friend a year ago took me here on recommendation that it was yummy and delicious. It was, then.I wanted to show my family what a great time and food I had last time.I couldnt tell you if was delicious this time . I have worked in restaurant business for 20 years and I do now . I understand there is short staffing and busy over worked kitchen.sI walk in ( maybe because Im not a local I dont understanddidnt get greeted by the several workers that caught my eye...I finally asked do I just sit down, yes I saw the cow that says that but I didnt see any tables open so was not sure. We sat down waited for menus a server came over took drink orders in a reasonable time. A different Server also asked if we were ready, sadly we werent so I get it , other things to do . So the third person came and took our order, was nice.We waited for 20 minutes, no one came to check on anything. My partner needed a coffee refill and I had asked after the 20 minutes. She filled up tables around us but not us. After 10 more minutes we walked out.I understand post pandemic problems , communication would of been nice. Tell us a kitchen guy called out or tell us I forgot to put the order in . Something

A hidden Gem just off I95 with GIANT pancakes dripping with flavors! Great and welcoming waitress with a nice affordable breakfast. Ham, home fries, and sausage were too notch! The Purple Cow Pancake is the Star! Worth the trip!

The food was amazing! I got a double cheeseburger and chicken fingers, and the burger was the best part! The fries were crispy but not too crispy, and perfectly seasoned.

Good breakfast spot. Friendly service, food priced and cooked right. Its nothing fancy but it definitely fills the belly.

Great Portions. Endless Coffee, fantastic Muffins and a waitress with some personality. What could be better than this. Well worth the trip. I traveled 35 Miles just to have breakfast. And it was worth every miles I had to drive.

UPDATE: I went to Purple Cow a couple days ago. I figured i would give them another shot to earn my business. They did not give me all of my order. The guy st the drive thru was rude. This was the last time i will do business with Purple Cow. They clearly arent interested in making changes to fix issues.The Drive-Thru is extremely slow and it is very expensive but food is mostly ok. They must not be changing their oil because the French Fries are nasty. The drive thru speaker is extremely hard to hear through. Its a shame this place has gotten as bad as it has because it used to be a good local restaurant with decent meals and decent prices but things have gone downhill. There are multiple other places nearby that you can get a better and cheaper meal from.

The food was very good and well made, also really appreciate the great service.

This is a great pancake house. Just like the one I grew up as a child going to. Great food, great portions, reasonable prices. Has that good old fashioned diner feel and great service.

The only way my breakfast here could have gotten any better, was if the waitress say on my lap and fed me my meal. Really good food, generous portions and reasonable prices. The staff was under a lot of pressure that day and they did great. Overall, looking forward to the next visit.

Ordered a bowl of Seafood Chowder. The chowder showed up at my table with the consistency of cold oatmeal. Tried a few bites and determined this wasnt the chowder for me......The waitress barely checked on us, which was understandable since they looked understaffed. Got our check and went to the counter to pay and mentioned the "quality" of the chowder, the check out lady was very nice and mentioned it to the lady who was either the manager or the owner (young lady with a bunch of tattoos). Her comment was , theres nothing wrong with the food, turned around and under her breath said can this day get any worse.........well I guess Im done with the Purple Cow......nice customer service.....Ps. Take some pride and clean your floors during the day.......

Great quality and atmosphere. Service was reasonable speed considering how packed and very friendly. A popular place in town, no doubt. Bar inside was nice with a classic diner feel. Take out window and ice cream windows are a great plus.

My new favorite breakfast place & they serve it all day to boot!! Huge portions so make sure youre hungry… raspberry pancakes are my favorite right now with crispy bacon. Just right!

Dont think I would go back meatloaf didnt look like Hamburg tastes like cardboard ham was barely warm chicken rice soup starchy all the the stuff was salty

I had the meatloaf it did not taste like meatloaf, my brother had the ham and pineapple the ham was just warm we was looking forward to eating there again been awhile but it had good portions but we were so disappointed in the food this time not sure if will go back again, the waitress was friendly and nice just disappointed in the food.

Very reasonable prices, sizeable portions, tasty food, excellent and friendly service. Wide variety of choices on the menu. Per person price was a bit higher due to having Bloody Mary and Mimosa with Brunch.

Always good food at the Pure Cow and friendly service. I have had breakfast and the fish tacos and both very good. The onion rings are good here as well.

Great place, good food, friendly staff. when its busy the service can be slow. the guy next to me got up and left in frustration after waiting a long time just put in an order.This time I came for lunch I usually have breakfast here. I ordered a purple cow burger that I saw on the menu for $11.99 and somehow when the bill came it was $16.99. I didnt argue but it was a disappointment.

It was good, service okay i guess, maybe it was busy not sure seems if u dont know. You could just ask or say hello.

They have these fabulous chonky pancakes and the interior is great. Give lots of love to the serving staff while youre there!

Breakfast was great, portions were good size too! Our blueberry pancakes were dry and a little well done but definitely edible, they were huge too! Good value for the food. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. If we’re ever in the area, we’ll definitely stop in again.

Great service, very friendly staff and excellent food. This restaurant is a quick stop off the I95 and easily accessible. All our food was very tasty especially the home made corned beef hash. The pancakes were delicious and are the size of a large dinner plate. Homemade muffins and biscuits were very good as well.

Food was OK. Pancakes are huge. Scrambled eggs were flat not fluffy but still good. I gave 4 stars cause server was not very attentive.

The corned beef hash and pancakes are delicious! The pancakes werent dry at all, and they are dinner plate sized. If you order more than one, be ready to take it home.Unfortunately had to take two stars off because the service was excruciatingly slow... We waited 45 minutes to get our food. 2 people that came in 20 minutes after us and got similar meals to what we ordered got theirs before us. I dont think it was our waitresss fault, she said they were training someone in the kitchen, but I still dont think thats a good reason for other patrons to be served first.We would go again purely for the great food, just probably not on a busy Sunday again.

We stopped here on a road trip around New England. We were enticed by the massive pancakes we saw in photos but I dont regret getting a traditional breakfast here. The home fries were my favorite ever.

Quite possibly the largest pancakes you will see. Had two blueberry ones but could only manage one. They have a good range of typical breakfast items. Large diner but can get busy. Only about half a mile off I95 so a good stopping point to get something decent. Well return there again.

These are the biggest pancakes I’ve ever had. Wish I had just ordered one. My daughter had scrambled eggs with broccoli. Said it was delicious. Great service. Clean bathrooms. If you’re hungry for pancakes. This is your place !! They even have drive thru.

It was a super cute small restaurant with pancakes bigger than ones face. Tasty fare and great price. The only issue I had was two of the waitresses were very sharp in their commands to the rest of the staff. Our waitress, however, was a young lady with a very sweet and funny demeanor. I wish I had gotten her name. I would go again.

Decent food with good service. VERY large portions. I couldnt eat all my breakfast and thats a rarity. Our waitress was very nice and super accommodating. She seemed to know a lot of the patrons which is always a cool thing to see. For a breakfast of 5/three the food was super cheap. Our coffees were always full. Theres two separate seating areas and seemed to be seat yourself.

Bring your appetite. The portions are huge. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and homefries. The biscuits alone would have been enough to fill me up plus leftovers. The service was great. The place is usually quit busy, so expect that the wait might be a bit.

Massive delicious portions, and good prices. A wonderful meal and quick stop during our trip. Thoroughly enjoyed my pancakes and her hash was exceptional.

A recent discovery for me, I love this place. The food is fresh and home cooked with large portion sizes at an affordable price. Their corned beef hash is outstanding. I will definitely be back.

Huge pancakes of all kinds: Apple, blueberry, chocolate chip that compliment the eggs and bacon and sausage. The lunch and dinner menu looked fine as well. This is such a towny place with colorful vintage signs and plenty of hot coffee. Great prices.
