Scenic Place, very well maintained roads till the top, ample space for parking bothe 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers. Only negative thing is "IT IS NOT PET FRIENDLY". The Army staff is strict about their (ambigiousrules but the problem is those are not specified anywhere and they had confusion even anongst themselves. While one Sentry was allowing us in with our Pet just asking us to be very carefull on the trek as there are Stray Dogs inside which may attack the Pets. The other Sentry just opposed and said Dogs were not allowed. While i was requesting to understand my "practical problem" and let me in atleast till car park so that i could sit with my Pet in the car i shade, their boss who was issuing entry tickets took offense on the word "practical problem" and started yelling at me for no reason. Tempers flared and there were heated exchange of words (but with respectful to the armyhe was adamant to his grounds and didnt let me and my Pet in. I dont understand while Strat dogs can be allowed inside why are not well groomed, vaccinated and trained pets? Army staff should be more polite with Civilians and make their rules clear with instructions on main gate so that there are no arguments. Making a civilian and his pet wait outside main gate in bare sunloght for 2 hours till others returned from trek is not Polite. That too when the place is of historical importance. Reducing one star just for this one bitter experience.

The fort is well maintained by the Indian army, the fort is open from 11 am to 4 pm, at the summit there is a shiv mandir which is clean and well maintained, during the trail you wont find any eatery shop so make sure you carry water and food with you. Near the parking lot there is only one earty shop. The fort has an excellent museum depicting Chatrapati Sambhaji maharaj live and also beautiful pictures of different forts from swarajya.

Birth place of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaja and also other historical incidents happened here.Fort is totally under control of Army due to which there is entry time limit from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM. If you arrive early then you need to wait till the 10:00 AM oustide the entry gate. Every one needs to carry there Government id proof Aadhar/Pan/Driving license, etc. At the point from starting trek, mobile phones are collected and token is been provided. No mobiles phones are allowed.Nice place to visit for both individual and family, well maintained.

You can go either through mum-blr highway or through aaswad depnding upon your location.Note that the fort is under Millitary control. Hence entry only permitted for fixed time. During my visit in September 2022 timing was 10 am to 3:30 pmCameras and Phore are not allowed inside. They have kept in safe custody of ArmyThere is a 40-50 mins trekking to mahadev temple situated at the highest point .At the foot hill there is a small museum dedicated to Sambhaji Mahraj is there where you can learn about different forts and life of Sambhaji Mahraj

Beautiful fort with amazing views. This fort is under the control and management of the Indian Army. So identify cards are needed for entry. Vehicles are checked and laptops etc devices not allowed. 2 wheelers need to be parked outside the main gate and 4 wheelers can be parked inside. There is a washroom near the parking. Mobile phones need to be deposited before the climb up the fort begins. The climb takes 45 minutes to reach the top and it is difficulty level 5 out of 10 when its not raining. A walking stick will be suggested. There are no food or water facilities on the fort, just a small joint after the parking spot. The views from the top are breathtaking. A small museum also has good variety for history lovers.

Awesome place, first of all please be clear that the fort area is under army control so its has some fix timing for civilians entry..its 10 AM to 3 PM, after 3 PM they wont give entry as its army so discipline at its best, and so the unlike the other fort its very neat & clean...so for that must appreciate army for that...salute :)Also inside there is only one small tarpri/food place once you enter inside ..and that serve poha, vada pav, jhunka-bhakri, misal pav, sabudana khichdi, Kanda bajji, poori-bhaji as main items. So if you want to eat anything just have it before trakking or else you will get after that only as there is nothing at top. Also just before start trakking you need to submit your phone, camera etc. So best part is you are away from all you gadgets while in whole trakking :, its easy to moderate trak...In rainy season its bit moderate I would say and bit risky sort..also at top you will get bit ruins of fort ..post that there is way for shiv mandir which is really a good tiring trak adventure of this place...a must go. You need to return by same route then...and then you can take your mobile back and visit a museum which is started in feb-2021 only ..to see all historical importance of all forts in Maharashtra.Overall its a good trakkking experience for 3-4 hours purandar fort..a must visit and very well maintained fort.

Nice place to visit during monsoon. It is almost occupied by defence for training purpose. It houses a museum and a small but beautiful walkway. There are two routes one from saswad and other from pune-banglore highway. The road to fort is good and maintained. The hiking route is closed as the entry is controlled through main gate where each person is checked before entering fort. The fort is open to public from 10am onwards.

Very beautiful in rainy season. And very crowdy as well, at least on sundays. We reached army check post around noon, and by that time it was already crowded. But parking and crowd is very well managed by army guys. One person needs to get down at checkpost with id cards and car needs to be parked 100-200m inside from check post. After around 500-600m you will reach a point where you are supposed to deposit mobile phones, they will give you a token in return. Just beside this there is a way to go to top of the fort. Its around 170m climb from this point and around 1.5kms trek.On the top there is kedareshwar temple. After 2.30pm they were not allowing to go up, but people can roam around and visit museum. For navigation, rather than putting Purander fort on map, put "Army Training Camp purander" .

Purandar fort has a great historical references even from the Ramayana’s time. It was told that when Hanuman was travelling with Dronagiri mountain some part of it fall down on the earth and then after it is known as Purandar and Vajra fort. The Putandar fort is now under military surveillance due to military training camps. Everyone need to carry their photo id proof and through checking conducted at the fort entrance. There are not much monuments on the fort however few temples are still on good condition. At the entrance there is a statue of Veer Murar Baji Deshpande who was a great maratha warrior. Fort also famous for the birth place of Chattrapati Sambhaji Raje (son of Chattrapati Shivaji Raje). One can also visit the museum at the fort which is well maintained and gives knowledge about various forts and pictorial life story of Chattrapati Shambhu Raje. Roads are very good and allows to reach almost at the top of fort.

I along with three other people went to this fort. And my experience was quite good considering the visit. First of all, ,if you are planning to visit this fort, then make sure to be an early bird. We reached this fort in the afternoon at around 2 oclock and we couldnt make it to the top just because of the closure timings of the fort. Because of the military presence, they people dont allow you to climb the fort after 2:30 and they will repeatedly remind you of the exit timing that is 3:30. So if you are reading this and planning to visit this fort I would suggest you to visit in the early morning so that you can experience it all. And things which are mandatory- your original photo id proof and vaccination certificate. They will ask you at the time of entry. They will give you cheat after entry, make sure to not loose it or misplace it. They take it back at the time of exit. If you are carrying camera it is not allowed. Keep it in your vehicle or else they will keep your camera bag in there custody and will return it to you while exiting. Because there is military presence they have re constructed the lower part and it feels so good and refreshing over there. Thats all about it. I am adding some photos which I took from my mobile, enjoy it.

This monument is recently opened for public post COVID lockdown. Visiting timings are between 10 am to 4 pm. Fort is under control of Indian Army and one need not photoshoot the training facility of Army. Newly erected Vandansthal of Sambhaji Raje is very well constructed and add charm to the ambience of the Fort. Highest point on fort can be reached with trek of 1 hour, which is undoubtedly must do on your visit to this Fort..Also note that visitors with 4 wheelers will get parking place inside fort on courtesy of Indian Army. Bike riders with helmet will also get parking inside fort. Bikers without helmet need to park bike outside gates of Fort.Jai Shivaji.. Jai Sambhaji.. Jai Hind

One of the well maintained fort as it is under army.Open to visitors between 9 am to 4 pm. But you need adhar card and vaccine certificate (fully vaccinatedto enter the fort from army check point. There is no other entry point. You can show digital copy, xerox or photo of documents mentioned. For kids only adhar is required. You can take your vehicle past the checkpoint but only few 100 meters upto parking. For bikes you need helmets for both rider and pillion. Otherwise you can park vehicle outside and walk upto parking! Its just 10 mins. From there its trek upto peak - kedareshwar temple. Other thing to visit is Sambhaji Vandanalay- small museum with sambhaji maharaj statue and photos exhibition of various forts in maharashtra. You can buy food items from village at the base just before the ghat road starts. There is also a small shop cum canteen inside fort near the start point of trek. You can get snacks, tea, water bottle etc.Washrooms and drinking water available alongside trek.
