Punto de Vista - Restaurant in San Juan, Puerto Rico
My wife reserved a stay for a marathon in the San Juan area in the month of September 2021. They charged my credit card . Due to COVID 19 I called them and they told me to call back around June time frame. I have called, email, and no luck getting to them. I had a friend drive by and they told me they have closed. I lost over $400 on this reservation. I’ve tried to get help no luck
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL !!! We were booked here for the night before our cruise it was cancelled due to COVID. They refused to refund the money we had paid.
Reservation was for 2 Superior rooms with a view and 2 full beds with a request that they be together since we were traveling with our 3 older teens. When we arrived they told us they did not have two rooms on the same floor. So they gave us two rooms on different floors. When the hubby and I arrived to our room we were appauled. The paint on the wall was pealing. The "View" was of the roof of an abndonded building. The window was broken. AND there was only one bed, SO NOT the room we reserved or paid for.The first lady we spoke to at the desk was not helpful. Not rooms to move us to. No refund. But she had plenty of attitude. The second lady we spoke to was a little more helpful. She refunded us the difference in the cost of the rooms and offered a roll away bed to accomodate our family of 5. However, the roll away was a nasty, crusty thing that we were afraid to put our daughter on.If we were going to be staying any longer than one night I would have definately found another hotel. One GREAT things...our ship wasnt scheduled to disembark until late in the day on day 2, so the hotel did allow us to sore our luggage there during the day while we explored the beautiful city of Old San Juan.
Open can of something left in refrigerator, heard elevator and kitchen noise. Room was large and clean. Bathroom nice and clean. (room 402)
Even with all the flooding and misfortunes Puerto Rico has suffered, the hotel, restaurant and other amenities were well done for all tourists.
Staff was good musty room , very old out dated, no coffee in the morning, however sheets were clean, thats about it bare bones only thing comes to mind
Quaint, located in the center of activity of Old San Juan. We had two queens sized beds, nice shower. Walking distance to the castles, forts, shops, Starbucks, night life
Good location but not for light sleepers on a main road and has a bar with live music upstairs. The rooms are old and dingy with mold stains in the bathroom and stains in the carpet. The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. The air conditioning has no thermostat just a on and off switch. I don’t get the positive reviews for this property.
Staff is friendly. No thrills hotel. Mainly have 2 stars because felt it was overpriced for the room. Room did have AC that worked well but had a bit of a musty smell. Did have a mini fridge that worked well which was a plus. Staff was helpful and willing to answer questions. Quality of hotel Maintanence/ rooms outdated could be improved.
DO NOT STAY HERE.....specially in room 401. It has stained dirty carpets with a horrible musty smell that triggered an asthma attack. After numerous attempts they claim there were no other rooms anywhere else in the entire hotel. Meanwhile we were able to book a room at a way better hotel Casablanca down the block. Stay at your own risk.
We stayed here because we had a wedding in the Condado area. I felt very safe. The guy at the desk was super.
Beautiful hotel & very kind staff. Ignore the reviews from the self absorbed stuck up main landers that dont appreciate what the Peurto Rican people have gone through in the recent years to keep their businesses going strong. Much love to all you!
Great Old San Juan location. Reasonable prices and service was great! Its an older building but was perfect for us, room clean and neat, basic but charming and we loved the personal touch of the letter pinned on the wall for guests to read in our room!
I accidentally booked the room for the wrong date. I tried to work with Expedia, who said that the hotel would not get back to us for a week to change the date. Please note: the hotel will NOT work with you if you need to make a change. I sure hope they have to keep the room available for us even though we will not in San Juan since we paid for it.
Hotel in super bad conditions, neglected rooms, the air conditioner bounces water right next to the bed, the shower broken and the water comes out the door. the drawers barely open. needs remodeling or closing it because it really is not in conditions to receive international guests, its a shame
The room looked great, but the bathroom was dirty. The hotel is inexpensive and just needs more cleaning to make the wife happy.
Reasonably priced rooms, basic but clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooftop restaurant, $5.00 continental breakfast. In the middle of old town.
Some people might call it quaint, some like the location, but for my wife and I, it was just a run-down old hotel. We didnt even have hot water for a shower in the morning. Not a good stay!
Price was about $200 for a night and while the location was worth it, the hotel was not. Elevator worked the first day, but not the second and we had to go down 3 flights with luggage. The room was very small and old fashioned. Floor was carpeted and beds are small. Great view of old San Juan from our room. Bathroom was tiny, but had everything we needed (toiletries, TP, towels, etc). Check in process was very fast and check out was simple drop of the key.
Hotel has A.C. Elevator. Old building kept up with rooftop restaurant. Clean, great walking in Old San Juan Puerto. Cruise stop hotel before flying to Iowa, fun last night of cultural and San Juan eats.
Nice little place. Our room was not the greatest but the other rooms looked really nice. Opt for a bigger rm if you stay. Restaurant above was excellent. Staff and food were amazing.
Hotel desperately needs an update. Its dingy and smells musty. People are nice and location is terrific if you can deal with the above.
Walls and windows need to be fixed and cleaned. More thought need to be placed in making visitors stay comfortable. It was really a turned off to see the messed up wall with holes in it and the windows looked like they have not been cleaned for a while. Towels and wash cloths were not properly washed. Had sticky stuff on them. Bed linen looked like they have not been changed. Bed was comfortable though!
GO TO THIS PLACE TO EAT! Well, we didnt come here to stay in the hotel room, but we were looking for resteraunts for some puerto rican food. The people there were friendly, with a tropical esqe bar where it wasnt the noisy stereotypical, but warm and inviting. I got a mofongo, which was excellent. Best mofongo ever, it was served on a mofongo and I got steak on top. There was a garlic cream sauce garlishing the top, I can remember the taste and the meal from a year ago, I just remembered to write a review. Hands down probrably best meal Ive had on my trip.
Room had mold growing in the bathroom, closet, ceiling and corner of room. Went downstairs to inwuiin about moving to another room and they said they were sold out, but when we arrived he tried to upsale us to a larger room for an additional $35. Had to ask for more towels. No amenities in the room such as coffee. Pillows are so thin we might as well not use them. Will never stay here again or recommend it.
Great price, great location, great staff, specially Rafael in main desk. Rafael was very helpful and patient. My only complain is that the restaurant wont let me take open drinks to my room.
staff was ok. they gave me a free charger to use while there..wifi is not good in the room. ac works great but the room did smell like mold...it was on a very nice tourist st and close to all old san juan attractions
The two best features of the Hotel Milano are the location and the price. Our room had a distinct odor so we went down the road and bought something bring back to the room so we could tolerate staying there. The front desk staff wasnt friendly. We tolerated one night before our cruise left and had planned to stay another night when we returned to the port, but we decided to stay at the a different hotel instead.
The hotel does not have parking, the bedroom sheets were dirty, you cant adjust the A/C (only turn on and offand there was a leaking on the bathroom roof.
Great historic hotel in the heart of old San Juan. Building is from the 1800s so not a modern hotel but the facilities are quite nice. They have wi-fi. Theres a great restaurant on the rooftop. Very conveniently located. Easy walking distance to the Carnival cruise port.
Not clean the rooms are like dungeons and bathroom fixtures need upgrade. Plus sign is roof top Restaurant great view and location location is great in old san juan close to all the food and attractions
I loved this place. It was located in Old San Juan. There were do many options for heat food and souviners nearby, including a rooftop bar. The rooms were nice, and ours had its own a.c. unit. This was great for taking care of the humidity. The staff was knowledgeable and provided great service. They were able to securely keep our luggage for me before check in, as well as after checkout. I would highly recommend this Hotel and would stay there again.
Very disappointed! Dont stay at this hotel! The room was dirty, smelled bad, and it was in very poor condition. I found roaches and ants under the bed. The staff was nowhere to be found when I tired to address this. In addition, I finally said enough and chose to leave a day early, so management refused to refund me.Dont book a room at Hotel Milano!
People need to stop acting so spoiled this is old San Juan the price of hotels is very high the price of this hotel is very cheap and the location is perfect stop expecting 5 star amenities for the price of a motel 6 come on in my own city I couldn’t rent a hotel at this price . This is a real business probably family owned the price is right for the amenities don’t destroy a persons business over something you chose the price of the hotel reflects the amenities how can you expect free anything when your paying less then a $100 for a hotel night please people think before you leave a review this room did not cost you &500 the going rate for a 5 star hotel in San Juan thank you Beautiful right in the middle of everything call me I would love to work at this hotel my life long dream to live in San Juan look me up Tess Beauty Supply milwaukee I would love to have a tourist job in old San Juan in a heart beat I would walk away from my business just to live in old San Juan it’s such a fabulous place to be imagine every day of your life is a fabulous day
Great place. The best feature is the fabulous rooftop restaurant. Seriously. Do not pass up a chance to dine on the veranda. Excellent food. Great service. You may have to wait ten or twenty minutes but sit at the bar and sip on cold beer or a delicious margherita. The food is worth the wait. Staff is amazing. Views are outstanding.
STAY AWAY! This hotel advertised our room came with breakfast, but it doesnt. I just called the front desk for the 2nd time since we checked in to tell them we dont have hot water. The first time they sent a maintenance guy up to feel the water and he confirmed that it was not hot and left and we were never contacted again about it. Now my daughter went to take her bath and the drain will not keep the water in the tub and the water is ice cold. I called the front desk again and the guy tells me "Well Im alone here. You probably just need to put it on cold for hot water." I said no it doesnt, I already tried that. Then he said, "Well we also eliminated the bath tub feature so she cant take a bath anyways." The toilet clogged after the first use, the a.c. isnt cold and has no controls, so the temperature cannot be changed. The window in the room is a 12 inch block of glass, theres damage to the wall, and all the appliances look like they are from 1986. This hotel doesnt care about its guests. I also told them the listing states the room is a bed and breakfast. They said "Oh yeah thats a problem with it. Someone should change it." My daughter got bit by a dog this morning and we are very tired from our day dealing with it so we are staying the nite here, but if it wasnt for how exhausted we are, I would leave now and demand a refund. This room is not worth the money and they treat their guests badly. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Love this place. Great food (had the Mofongo with steak and garlic sauce followed by a Puerto Rican Ice Cream Sandwich for dessertand super friendly staff. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to return before I leave.
Needed a place to stay in a pinch and this was perfect. Very basic but very clean with a modern bathroom. The staff was extremely helpful.
Adequate hotel for a short stay. However, the room was nothing special and the view from the window was a dirty courtyard. The staff who checked us in was not very enthusiastic.
This hotel is in Old Town San Juan. Typical older building with character. The staff was wonderful. There is a restaurant on the roof too. Great location with easy access to shopping and some historical sites.
Room smells like mold and mildew, worried about sleeping in this room. puddle of water on the floor about 18 inches wide. Rooms door latch doesnt work. Light bulbs out in the bathroom. Not very impressed
ExcellentI planned a few days in San Juan before a cruise with family. We arrived late and the hotel I booked a suite with didnt have one, terrible situation. Nearly midnight when we got done with other horrible hotel. I literally walked in unannounced and Richard took great care of us.My kids 8 and 11 loved the hotel too great restaurant on roof. Everyone was very good but Richard was excellent he showed us the room first. If you are familiar with old San Juan the hotels are a little basic as they are converted houses on the little cobblestone looking streets. The Milano has a pretty welcome area with wood carved canopy and super clean restroom when you arrive. Though the rooms are also basic they are immaculate, the ac worked perfectly in both rooms as we decided to stay an extra night after the cruise too. The price was excellent. I would recommend the Milano and Richard to everyone.Lann Rubin IIWappingers falls NY
Very hard to get a seat for big groups especially because you cannot reserve in advance, that being said it is very good Puerto Rican food with authentic mofongo for reasonable prices.
Went to the rooftop bar, which you can see cruise ships disembarking. Mojitos were very good and the happy hour made them the cheapest mojitos we had on the island.
Very good hotel with large rooms. The WC was a bit beaten down, but not too bad. However, there were some unpleasant odors in some of the floors.
The view was nice and the food was good (with some fun options like octopus-filled mofongo! It was very yummy), but the best thing about my dining experience was the service. The service provided by the manager, Marcos, and the servers was above and beyond my expectations. I have specific dietary needs, and the staff was so patient and accommodating. They also provided great recommendations for other local spots to check out. I highly highly recommend the Hotel Milano bar and restaurant.
Truly loved this small gem. Located right in the heart of Old San Juans shopping district, this hotel is clean and neat as a pin. The large windows in our room opened up to the cobblestoned streets below and we woke up to the smell of fresh bread baking down the street. The air-conditioning works wonderfully as does the Internet, mini fridge and satellite tv. We will be coming back to stay here again.
A very bare bones hotel, but it got the job done! The room is very plain, tv is teeny tiny and the tv is probably older than me, but you shouldnt be spending much time in the hotel anyway! No on-site parking but theres affordable parking just a few blocks away. Nothing special, but for the price and location, Id stay here again.
The room I stayed in was nothing special and the view from the room was not great either, but I would stay here again. The reason Id stay here again is the location is close to enough to walk to everything in Old San Juan, yet the price was moderately low. They do not have any onsite parking but there is pay parking about a block away. (Note there are actually 2 parking garages the first one I came to charged quite a bit, but the second one was very cheap so I recommend driving by the first and going to the second parking garage on the left off of Calle Recinto Sur).
Yes, the rooms are simple and plain, but if youre staying on your room, youre missing all that Old San Juan has to offer. Weve stayed at the Milano several times over the years, and it is a great location in the middle of everything Old SJ has to offer. One feature thatI especially liked is the rooftop restaurant/bar. Some of my fondest memories after a day of walking the cobbled streets of San Juan was to have a meal and some drinks up there, listeneing to the sounds of the city below, watching ships come int the harbor, and feeling those warm trade wind. Heaven. If you are looking for a convenient spot in the old city (and THAT is where you want to stay, IMHO), and think of a hotel room as a place to sleep, I recommend the Milano. If you want a higher end hotel, this is not it, but it is clean and conveniently located. Weve been there three times and would book it again in the future.
