Punta Cana 23000, Dominican Republic, Salvaleon de Higuey
Punta Cana Boogie - Tourist attraction in Salvaleon de Higuey, Dominican Republic
Badly organised tour: pick up was 45 min. late, very pricy for what one gets, cave and beach visit werent worth it (too pushy and very short). All activities had to be cramped in short amount of time, what a shame. Tourist trap, book somewhere else if you want to go quad riding.
I had a great time on ATVs, water cave, and cultural tour.
Had a great experience! Would recommend it in a heart beat!!
Had an amazing time. We will be back next year!
Awesome experience with this tour company. All the staff was great. Do recommend doing this excursion.
Outdated Boogies, my boogie stopped in between roads 6 times, also cenote they saw is very dark & guide forces/ requesting every one to give 5 star review. Dont recommend this Rex Boogies.Their pickup bus has 2 seats broken. If you go this type of tours take bandanna or something to cover face as lots of dust on roads & muddy if rains. The photos taken on tour by photographer is way expensive $50.
We had a great time here. We waited a while before we actually set out on the tour but our guide Chris was awesome! We enjoyed the stop to see how the cocoa is grown and processed. We also got to see how they process the coffee beans. We also stopped at macao cave and beach. Tour lasted about 2 hrs. Would definitely recommend.
Our tour Guide David was amazing. The excursion itself is why a lower score.1. Ive never had to be hotwored into anything in my life....doing it in unfamiliar parts...didnt make me comfortable.2. We signed up for a 230 time they messaged and had us mobe to the 1030..Probably to save them time.3. It was WAY too many people.4. Because of the amount of people we didnt get to really stop and explore things (cave, beach)
We had a lot of fun! Our guide Luis was great! All the guys with him as well, the photographer did an amazing job!I dont like being dirty and for the first time in my 50 years I was playing in mud and I loved it! Do it! You wont regret it!Youll need water shoes, googles or big sunglasses, sunscreen, water, snack, bandana! Trust me. And a water proof bag. Anything you put in buggy will get filthy lol or wrap with a rain poncho ;youll thank me!
Best buggy excursion with the best guide
Had such a great time. Got really muddy! You will get muddy, no way around it! Charlie was our guide and he was the best!!! Highly recommended
Fun time in buggy going to a cool and refreshing cenote, tasting local chocolate and coffee, and visiting Macao Beach. Recommend bandana, sunglasses, and old clothes. Great time!
Review of 7/20/22. So our guide, David was excellent, a full 5 stars. Our photographer was excellent, 5 stars. Our experience fun and dirrrrty, 5 stars. Now for the bad parts... 1. We selected 1230pm for our excursion but were contacted and asked to change our pickup time. We said no, as we had other plans. They persisted and we changed our other plans, because they already had our money. 2. Our driver forgot about us and another pair at Royalton. Our pickup time was 150pm. Our driver arrived at 250pm. Our bus, well you can see its condition in the photos. Our compensation for the late pickup, 1 bandana each. 3. Our beach stop at Macao was only 15 minutes. 4. Our cenote stop was only 10 minutes. Like drop in, take a photo, climb out. For us, the tour was really about the buggies and when we were driving it was outstanding. We happily smiled for photos along the way. At the end of the tour we were escorted to a place where we could view and purchase photos. For some reason its seemed like different people got different rates. We were asked to leave an honest review and to tip if we were satisfied. We complied. David really was good, but after purchasing our photos, we learned the wifi was down. I have android and they have Mac (air drop). We gave email address and are still waiting for the photos we purchased. Not good. I would recommend the tour but skip the photos. Take your own. Not sure if we will get them or not. We dont really have a way to contact them. Here are some tips.1. Wear clothes and shoes you dont mind getting very very very dirty2. Bring goggles or sunglasses3. Bring a water bottle4. You should at least be able to do moderate physical activity there are stairs, walking on rocks, and a bumpy ride. Plus if youre adventurous a dip in the cenote5. Bring a towel and a plastic bag that you can tie up. You will get dirty and wet and there is not really a storage place6. Advocate for yourself and if your pickup is late, call and call and call7. The people lined in the street asking for un dollars, take a few extra bucks and buy some lychee8. Charge your phone and take photos along the experience9. Have one of those pouches for your phone so that it doesnt get compromised10. Leave your smart watch at home11. If you cant swim, the cenote is not the business
David and the whole crew were amazing I would recommend them highly, the best tour we have been to.From swimming on the beach to trying chocolate, cigars and mamajuana and green tea.
Booked this excursion on Trip advisor before going on the holiday. I was a bit dubious as the reviews on trip advisor werent very impressive, but I must say I did enjoy it. We booked the ATV quad bike, which can sit 2 people. The instructor was American (Davidso spoke perfect English 🌟👌🏿No racing & most of the driving was single file. The experience is a half day. You get pretty dusty, so glasses/goggles & a face mask are needed, (covid looking masks are enough, but the rest of your face will get dirty). Get these before you go as they sell them at the shop at a premium.
It was really fun and worth it. Our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable
Amazing experience and David is the BEST tour guide!! Be ready to get muddy, bring extra shoes/clothes and a towel.
Great Boogie trip through Punta Cana that includes a country path of the locals and their naturally grown products such as coffee beans, cocoa chocolate, sugar cane, alcohol processes, vanilla extracts and hand-crafted artwork that reflect the Dominican culture. Also a Cave water dive in the middle of the tour, then capped with a beach trip through puddles which guarantees to get you muddy. Very popular excursion on 4x4 Side-x-Sides Buggies and Single-Rider ATVs
Charlie our tour guide was incredible. If you are looking for an excursion definitely seek out the chocolate and coffee tour
Omggg this was such a GREAT experience. The energy was amazing. I love getting dirty from the ATVs and I was accomplished at my mission. Charlie was a great tour guide. When I come back to Punta Cana. I will definitely be returning...
For the dirt rides, 4.5 stars, the guide was good, not rushing. The dings are for the so called plantation visits. They are essentially a sales pitch at the front of a plantation, no actual tour or such. We were taken to a cenote where folks who can swim were okay to dive in. That was cool.
Great ride; horrible tour guide. The whole tour was really spent with them trying to sell you something. I will not use this company when I return.
Charlie is an excellent guide, proficient in English, good sense of humor. The reason I dinged two stars is the farm visit is nothing more than a visit to a shop, some sales talk and premium priced stuff. No actual walking in the farm and such.
Taino caves!! This company picked us up and drove us there in a safari big bus and it took a hr to get there. While waiting on our go carts we were shopping for gifts that is a bit high on the price and please bring water shoes for the caves or you will have to buy some there! Then we drove to the caves, and went to a Taino India village where they performed for us and had DR rich cocoa to taste and buy there too yum! so don’t spend all $$ at the first stop and have some tips $$ ready! Then drive to the beach and take pictures bought more souvenirs there and some coconut water from coconut! Yum
Nice half day adventure near Bavoro. Cost is reasonable at $67 USD per person for 4*4 ATVs, with dune buggy type carts costing more.Adventure consists of pick up from hotel, arrival, some souvenir selling, ATV to a nice cenote that you can drive into - water is super clear and clean and there is a bat cave to see. Next is a drive to a shop to learn about local products such as coffee and chocolate with some small free samples and then more souvenir vendors with the same products you have seen on the beach, hotel a d airport. From there you drive to a local beach for a walk and swim if you want. Then drive back to the compound.Photos are available (there is a photographer that follows your group and takes some great photos). You have to purchase them all (you cant buy just one or 2they wanted $60 USD for our 66 photos, but we talked them down to $25.We left the hotel around 8am and were back just after 12.Overall a fun family adventure (12 year old boys)
Great experience. Just wish they start replacing the boobies— they are very old.
I booked online using tripadvisor and had no problems. Charlie was our guide and did an awesome job keeping everything moving at a good pace where we could get really get some speed going. Each stop along the tour was about 15 -20 minutes. If you have a go pro this is the place to use it, as I got some awesome footage. Pro tip, bring your own bandanas and sun glasses so that you dont have to pay for any. They give you a helmet. Also, you get way more muddier if you are in a buggy versus an ATV, so take that into account. They do have showers for use afterwards.consider having a waterproof crossbody bag or small backpack for carrying your phone or cameras and cash there will be souvenirs for purchase along the ride if you chose all prices are negotiable in regards to souvenirs.
The familys "boogie" in front of us caught on fire in the middle of the trip. The boogies are pretty broken down and rusted. We probably saw 5 boogies break down on the 4-hour journey. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Would I do it again? No need. Definitely a worthwhile experience for the stories we brought back home!
Our experience started off on the wrong foot due to late pick-up from our hotel. We waited 45 minutes for taxi.Once we were at the location of the buggies we wasted another 20 min so they could hustle to purchase over priced items that everyone has been trying to get us to buy since been in Punta Cana. The driving of the buggies was Fun once we did get started. Nice and muddy. It would have been nice to know what clothes one should wear on this experience. MUDDY!!You only get about 10 - 15 minutes at each location. They are not good mangers of time. The equipment is old and pieced together. There a grave yard of parts at the location. We were blessed to make it back before our ATV front wheel axel broke down. The photographer takes great photos. If it was possible I would give him 4 stars out 5. But the images cost to much for purchase.
Charles was amazing as our tour guide. Got really dirty but it was worth it!
Joel was a great tour guide! He was sweet, patient and understanding
Old equipment, a tourist trap. Every 5 minutes stopping at a place where youre practically forced to buy something from the vendors. Its crazy, I wouldnt go back
This tour was extremely fun. The tour guide (Charliewas nice and very informative prior to our ride. We chose to ride in buggies, while others in our group rode ATVs. The only downside of the tour was the shop vendors not willing to accept no for an answer after sharing their products. Other than that, Id definitely recommend reaching out to this group if youre interested in touring via buggies or ATVs.
Was great! Our tour guide was funny and super nice. Definitely recommend
Our guide, Charlie, was great. Multilingual, engaging, funny, and thoughtful. We were forewarned that this could be a muddy experience, and dressed for the possibility. Luckily there had been very little rain in the days prior to our visit, and I was able to keep us out of the mud, though we couldnt avoid the dust clouds thrown up by all the ATVs and buggies. Macao beach was very beautiful. Beyonce, the iguana at the flooded cave is quite photogenic. However, beware the upsells; they are everpresent. I recommend this excursion as part of a full Dominican experience.
Such an unforgettable experience. Bring some glasses for the dirt lol. They let you stop at a cave and the beach to swim where we got to take these amazing pictures 🦜
This is a must do in Punta Cana! We had such an amazing time! Our tour guide made the trip extra special! I would definitely recommend this.
Too many stops and no fun. They wanted to sell you badly. People are nice but overpriced and bothered us a lot
This excursion is the best. Definitely worth it. We had so much fun that we didnt want it to end. Youll make 3 stops at the beach, a local village to sample coffee & chocolate, and a cave where you can swim. Our tour guide was the best!
Will was an awesome guide through this tour. The cave was beautiful, the beach was breath taking. Recommend this tour.
The adventures was fun. My buggy didnt have a proper starter they kind of just tied a few wires to together everytime to start up which was annoying because I kept getting left behind. I wish they gave us more time to relax at certain destinations and actually finish a drink you bought and interact with the locals and people your riding with. The hosts were very nice and polite. I gave one my cigars that I bought to hold onto for me because he was on an ATV and I did not want mine to get soaked and he forgot to give it to me, which I never got with efforts the next day. I paid for the photos from them and was emailed to me very late and when I did notice them in my email a month later they were gone because it was expired.I loved the cave with the spring, I totally took a dive in it forsure. The ride through the country side was beautiful and seeing the local kids running after our buggy was so beautiful and reminded me how amazing life is. I loved how it got real muddy it totally added to the experience. The beach experience was so fun and gave you a chance to wash off.I would reccomend everyone to wear old clothes, have a bandana and shades for your face. Also bring a go pro youll love the footage. Do not bring a backpack filled with gear, it gets muddy. Bring about $20 to tip your tour guides and if you want buy souvenirs at the cave and cigars at the farm you stop at help the locals out.I had a super great time and would go back surely I just couldnt give it more than 3 stars because there is a lot of improvement that can be done and it doesnt neccesarily mean they need to spend a fortune. I WOULD NOT RISK MISSING OUT ON THIS ADVENTURE, after all it is only $45USD.
Quite an interesting endeavor! Our group whipped the Polaris and beat on them like rented 4-wheelers should be beaten. Incredibly fun and impressive machines. The route had three stops. The first was at an area where you could get coffee and chocolate and mamajuana and some other goods. Then we went to a cave where you could get in the water and at the end went to the beach and got in the ocean. Atlantic side. The vendors were everywhere and swarmed at arrival. We topped out at about 38 mph once we hit the flat road.
We had a great experience, however, I wish it wasnt about selling us coconat oil, cigars and alcohol. It takes our time, instead we could be riding In mud which is more fun.
I enjoyed the place great fun with these people amazing amazing amazing time. Last time I was there was 10 years ago and I had a great time each time I go. If u go when it rains you get to look like me in the picture. If not then you will be clean. I paid $50 some pay more. After they get u pictures also bargain u could get a better deal. They start of high but u could get them down. Have fun.
This was very enjoyable. Learned about the Dominican culture and got to explore a cave and jump in to the water. Would give 5 stars if not hassled by the locals the whole time.
Before heading off to Punta Cana on a family vacay I decided to check on some activities that the whole family can enjoy. The Boogie tour was one of them. Great choice. Although the Boogie I drove was a bit outdated, we all had fun. We toured Playa Macao, Macao Cave and a plantation. We arrived back at the hotel dirty asf but it was worth it.
I think the Polaris buggies through Punta Cana Boogie were the best rides available. Our guide, Felix, took great care of us and showed the group around at each stop. Beautiful route through the farms and to Macao beach. Also the most comfortable rides for an offroad adventure. Tried the coffee and a chocolate cigar I fell in love with at one of the stops.
Lots of tour agencies bring you here. Book the Polaris buggy, its more expensive but is a lot faster than the normal ones. It is a great experience, but you will get very dirty so be prepared. There are many stops (cave, beach, cigar/coffeebut beware of locals at every stop trying to sell you stuff.
An amazing experience. The tour is well organized and the tour guides keep you safe around safe areas. I just wish we could of spent more time in the beach area and that they had a lunch option!
Driving the vehicles through the country side was a blast! It was fascinating to see the Dominican from outside a resort. The tour stops at a coffee/cigar manufacturing hit, an underground spring that you can jump into, and ends at Macao Beach (beautiful). Great value and trust me, buy or bring, a bandana!
