Just walked in wanting to use the toilet, was stopped and given a lecture about not asking, even though theres no sign saying we ever had to. What a waste of space.

Stopped in here on our last night in London after dinner. The bartender was very helpful, knowledgeable, and fun. He gave great gin recommendations!!! The gins were nothing like the ones available in the States, and he did a great job at picking gins based on our flavor preferences. It was definitely a highlight of our trip and a fantastic way to end it.Wish we would have caught the bartenders name to include it in this.

Food was good. The smashburger tasted great, and the fish and chips was a huge portion. There was a great selection of gin drinks, but the wait staff had trouble keeping things straight, and they were sold out of several items on the menu. If I lived here, Id be happy to give them another try, but with only a week in town, Id take a pass.

We have known this pub for a while, as it is on a way back to our home. Then, we had a chace to visit this pub today with expecting a good and nice pub experience. However, we had an unexpected bad experience here, as several white couples tried to squeeze in the queue for the bar counter and the staffs with knowing we were in the queue let them order first. We were so disappointed and annoyed at the same time. So, we left the pub soon.Very dissapoing experience. For Asian, there are better pubs around here. Wont come back.

Food and beer was good but to be charged 12.5% extra when ordering at the bar is a bit cheeky. I assume this is a service charge but this is not listed on either menu. Did not question it at the time as the two values were very similar. £42.10 and £47.36

Found the punch tavern on our wonder around london.we were in london for the guns and roses concert .We were looking for somewhere to eat with some nice food .the punch tavern was definatly what we wanted .my wife had the chicken and chorizo pie with home made mash whilst i had the rost beef dinner .i think its the most tender beef ive ever had .the portions were generous too .i had 2 thick slices of real tasty beef and a great selection of vegetables to go with it .the waitress was very polite and friendly and her service was quick .the owner/manager was also a very welcomeing and polite guy .he came around asking everyone if there food etc was good .had a quick chat with people too which i thought was good to be made so welcome .this place made such an impression on us that when were next in london well make sure we visit again .great pub .cheers all

Rip-off. Should report to Trading Standards as they sell from a drinks menu but give you what theyve got not what youve chosen!I queried it with 2 staff because not one but two drinks orders were not as you pretend to sell them.

The pub has improved greatly over the years, its much more welcoming and popular locally. Some tables can be a little close in the rear, however the front side is very well laid out. A good choice of drinks, as expected.

Aggressive manager, not interested in actual customer service; Bar staff seem to spend their time smoking outside with big queues forming at the bar. Staff also add automatic 12.5% tip to over the bar sales. Will be back in on Monday for a refund thanks very much; and that will be our last trip to the famous, but sadly failed, Punch Tavern of Fleet Street.

Last of the great old boozers on Fleet St, this is a proper pub. Great beers, pretty decent food menu and excellent service. They were rushed of their feet but everything was done with a grace and a smile. Check out the iconic art on the walls depicting old Punch magazine covers from back in the day, historic and still relevant satire. Lauren was fantastic, proper great service and charming to boot. Highly recommended.

Stopped by this place during an outing in London, the sign outside actually says Gin Palace as well as punch tavern. I went in to have a drink as its close the Polish embassy and I had to wait. The exterior wasnt very inviting, it looked very smart but uninviting. The would recommend not having opaque doors so people could see that the place is open and appear more inviting.Inside it was a really nice old fashioned feeling bar that was nice to sit in.They have more than 60 Gins available which was great. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely visit again when in the area

The entrance corridor of this Grade II listed pub, with its glorious Victorian tiles and mosaics, really entices you in. Once inside you find a relatively small but light and airy gin palace, complete with glass roof. The pub’s history is quite confusing! The original pub on this site was called the Crown and Sugar Loaf, but was renamed the Punch Tavern in the 1840s after the satirical magazine “Punch”, whose editorial team used to drink here.It was rebuilt in the 1890s in two phases; the main part of the pub on Fleet Street in 1894–95, and then its Bride Lane frontage in 1896-97. The magazine closed down in the 1990s and, in the same decade, the Punch Tavern underwent its own radical change; an internal row resulted in the pub splitting in two, with the back half setting up its own business under the original name, the Crown and Sugarloaf. I said that it was confusing! This pub is a gem and the staff today were really friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.

Great hidden boozer. Nice nostalgic/modern decor and great staff behind the bar. One of the bar tenders got us to try a "Jam Doughnut" shot, absolutely beautiful. If you like a Baby Guinness give it a try.

The Punch TavernUsed to frequent this place back in the early nineties. Just as I remembered it...lovely cut glass windows, marble topped bar, beautiful glass ceiling and tiled floor...AND the most important thing great beer...Timothy Taylor Landlord it was coming to the end of the barrel but still OMG! Friendly barstaff, had a nice chat...then a new barrel of Tribute...another OMG! Flipping gorgeous 😍.Then a baby Guinness just to whet the appetite. Then a shot called a Jam Doughnut?A cherry liquor  and Baileys on top...another OMG! Such a lovely atmosphere.

Friendly welcome, clean venue and nice atmosphere. Real ale choice was limited to one beer, but these are difficult times for London pubs and the Hophead they had from Dark Star was fine. Everything felt professionally managed.

Very well styled and presented pub. Impressive entrance as you walk into the pub. Very friendly bar staff and manager, only popped in for a half and he made the effort to speak to me. Didn’t see or try and food. Only thing that let it down was their beer selection, pretty average pint of Sussex best on cask. Not a great selection of craft or cask beer.

Im a regular at this pub and can really recommend it. Its a great place for (after workdrinks - the atmosphere is so comfortable and homely, the staff is very friendly. It can get quite busy in the evenings (at least pre-corona, I havent been since the pub reopened), but its usually space to stand at the bar and chat with colleagues and friends. The food is also nice.

We have been here in 2011 and loved the experience. Came back while on a trip in 2018 and was very disappointed. Seated for food at an outside at 20:20, the waitress did not come to take the order until 21:00. After the complaint to the bartender the order was taken and the food appeared quickly. The waitress was apparently alone on the floor - and blamed that for not taking the order for 40 minutes. Bangers and mash were good. The recommended red lager matched well. Then she took a desert order and disappeared again. I never saw the desert. After waiting for another 35 minutes I asked to check out as I could not wait anymore. The waitress blamed someone else for not delivering the pudding. They waived the beer cost and I was glad to be out of the place. It used to be that the wood around the glass roof was natural wood and gold colors. Matched the old place really well (there is my 2011 photo of it in this Google listing). The newly painted white/sage decor is weird and feels to be out of place.

Amazing nicely decored pub with awesome staff. The bartender had thrown a few slices of cucumber in my gin and soda and now I have a new favorite drink! I saw some of the patrons eating their food and it looked amazing. Asked the table next me there general opinion and they had nothing short of good things to say about the food. I will definitely be coming back here if I find myself in the area again.

Small older pub. Quite light inside thanks to sky lighting and mirrors. No garden so smokers stand at the entrance where smoke wafts back in. Quiet on a Sunday lunch time. Has a local feel.

Disclaimer.... I havent tried the food. But the cocktails are rather lovely... and for a 50cl Gin cocktail at £5 in central or central who can complain? Kind staff, the atmosphere would be perfect if not for ALL the tourists. X
