Pub 28 - Pub in Al Jizah, Egypt
First, this is a proper cocktail bar, and these are hard to find in Egypt, even in cosmopolitan Zamalek. Second, I went there as a woman on my own and it was great. Prompt service, good food, and no annoying flirting or unwanted attention from the wait staff (something which is also hard to find!). This place is small and wood paneled and attactive, if also very dark, and Id give it five stars except that it allows smoking and is full of cigarette smoke, which I dont love breathing. Otherwise great!
Delicious food.Very loud/noisy placeLove it.
They show a menu drinks with prices and when you pay they said another price (biggerand also said that don’t have menu drinks. If you came please take a picture of the menu.
Its a nice cosy place with English pubs style. Good music and Oky customer service as they seem to be busy and rushing while taking the orders. But the menu is full of goodies and the prices are reasonable! Its a place for socialism and after work, or pre-party 😊
I was there earlier today, the guy with glasses was looking at me in an uncomfortable way. Also, they’re racist
3 shots of Jack Daniels was 89.00 dollars Usd. Think I just got ripped off. As a foreign person dont come here
They charged 30 USD for a shot of chivas regal. Thats a ripoff even in the US. Make sure they show you the menu with prices
small but enjoyable ,,,,parking issues so use uber or a taxi,,,,the staff is nice & friendly to a certain extent,,,one of the best pubs in the zamalek area and maybe in cairo in general..i rate it 4/5.
Nice place but the background music is too load you can hardly hear your friends or have any conversation with anyone
Nice place, good side dishes and speedy service.
I’ve been there a year ago, Pub 28 is located in heart of Cairo, Zamalek. Had the best playlists all the time. All of the workers were always welcoming and warm. You can find both darker and brighter sides to sit, eat, or drink in the bar. missed being there, grabbing beer with friends..
Very nice place, relaxed, good for enjoying a social evening
Good service nice appetizers. Friendly atmosphere. Full but not too crowded which is a plus. Thursdays and weekends in the summer are nice because less crowd.
The small door leads to one of the very few bars in Cairo (at least we had a hard time finding them). There youll find a relaxed atmosphere, good drinks and food. Women wore modern style clothes. Good service. Expect extensive smoking.
Not a pub more a restaurant/bar, kinda place to have a drinks and a chat in a quiet place and despite their hours of operation, when we entered the 1st things they told us is: last call! Once seated at the bar we got told again and we felt that they were impatient to close (2 hours ealier).
Love the overall atmosphere. Must try the snack, liver, hawowshi, etc.
Very rude staff I wouldnt recommend anyone to go there unless you might end up having a huge fight with them
It is so pleasant to find a lively and relaxed place for middle-aged people like myself. Food is good and very good choice for drinks. My spot in Zamalek.
Excellent place to eat , drink and enjoy yourself
Good quiet and cozy place, little too dark inside. Food was pretty good and medium priced
Stopped in for a beer, not bad. Nice dark pub has a European feel. Beer was cold and not too expensive.Staff friendly and efficient
Dont go to pub 28 before asking prices and keep in mind you need to play 12% tip and 14% tax on top of the huge Bill. Dont drink tequila dont buy drinks before asking prices.
Really expensive, dont go there.. they dont have a menu.. and they charge 12% service and 14% tax on top of the rediculous price, we paid 900 egyptian pound (over 50 eurofor 2 beer and 2 tequilla.. and the exchange rate is 17.9 and they rate 15.9.. egyptian people pay way less than we did..
Dıdnt manage to take any pics but all as available on search. first of all they refused to show or give any menu, only verbal menu. theyve charged 500 pounds for a shot of whıskey. the pub has very small area and yes may be it looks like British pub but its not and none of us found it comfortable.
not recommended and I dont advice to go this awful place, i will share my experience with this staff, no menue for the drinks and told us that their is a minimum charge 250 and its ok but when we asked for the receipt, I shocked when i found the receipt about multiplying 250 for 5 person without any details about the prices of our requests and when i asked for the details they refused to give me the full details. again not recommended for foreigners or citizens at all.
Look at this vegetable, can it be eaten? too expensive.
35 year after my first visit . As nice even as before.
This is absolutely A PAB NOT A BAR. I think it is more suitable for elderly people not for young. I felt their ambience was classic and oldies. The staff were not really friendly but appropriate. The price were a little bit expensive than the average of Egypt.
one of the best bars Ive been here in Egypt, can be a little bit pricy, but very nice food and great atmosphere and friendly staffThe meat cubes they have, is my favourite.
It is what it is - a Pub. Not a bar, not some hipster hang out, it is in essence a Pub. Food is great, service is classic and spot on. Clients are decent :a little bit spiced priced but it’s worth it for one of the very few authentic experiences in Egypt.
Decent sangria, amazing appetizers, and a music CD thats been on repeat for 20 years. Gotta love the rustic vibes and authentic pub feel.
Best meat i have ever tried!!!
One of Egypt most iconic and oldest pubs, the hot and cold appetizer are to die for especially the beef cubes, chicken liver and sausage, like most Egyptian places that serve alcohol it is way overpriced - highly recommend you get your own bottle on your way there.
It is one of my favorite cozy corners from 25 years to get a drink and chill !!! The place is very well organized although its size, Staff are too helpful, prices are reasonable, wine leaves are mouthwatering! music is a bit loud but matches well with the ambiance.
Don’t go to Pub 28 in Zamalek, it’s unsafe. I’m a 27 year old Egyptian woman and the manager physically assaulted me, which is inexcusable. Please avoid this venue.
Honestly the atmosphere is great but the prices are ridiculous I paid over 900 pounds for 3 jack and cokes. That’s about $60 bucks just for 3 mixed drinks 🍹. I’ll probably never go again because it’s probably the most expensive bar I’ve been too. Honestly a waste of money.
It was pretty cool, the ambience is really cozy, local drinks are a bit above the range but still, imported alcohol is over the moon (3 B52 shots were above 850 poundsother than the shots the rest was nice, and the bathroom btw is a single use in both males and females, try not to load till 100%!!! 😀happy times
Food is tasty, staff are attentive, beer and wine is cheap! Like 65 egp for a meister max or something like that. Its a really fun place to go in the nightime they play great music and you can bring your own bottle of alcohol tooIts the perfect place for anytime of the day, breakfast, dinner or just some drinks in the night.Nice atmosphere, a gem in zamalek.
I asked them to sit in s table instead of the bar cause the chair was not comfortable but they refused because Im not having a dinner. No prices for hard drinks and it makes sense because one shot of Vodka = 150 egp. When it gets crowded, it started to be noisy and uncomfortable.Bad experience.
This is a great bar in Cairo, probably the best I saw in a week there. They serve as good as you are going to get beer. great service, no hovering over you. Very relaxing
Very nice, good music and drinks were reasonably priced
I visited Pub28 with my colleagues from the Norwegian embassy in Cairo last week. The place was nice and like a traditional english dark pub, but the service tried to charged us much more than it was priced at the menu. When we kindly refused and asked to speak with the manager, the manager where rude enough to not come to our table. The waitress overcharged us with extra Schweppes and Red Bulls than we actually ordered and opened. This place are steeling from their costumers, I dont recommend this place to anyone who cares about principles.Til nordmenn: Ikke dra til dette stedet da de stjeler og jukser med kvitteringene.
If you are a new face , I advice you not to show . It’s an old schools pub who are familiar with old school faces that use to frequently visit the place .90% of staff need to get rid of them , they are a disgrace to the place , no experience , non welcoming , never know their work description .Food in general is accepted and rated as moderate .Guests are rated by what they order . Beer consumers are the last to be recognized .Waiters will be hanging in front of you , your glass is empty , no intensional to ask you if you need drink or not .I do not advice any below 100 years guy to be there .
Today I returned having lived in Zamelek back in 2001 to 2003. I was so disappointed to find the service had gone and staff seemed to only focus on those they knew and would tip at high levels. The beer was great it was cold and enjoyed. However I arrived at 13:15 and the pub was not busy with about 2:1 ratio of staff to customers. At 14:45 still unable to order anything to eat I decided enough time had been wasted, waiting for zero service, so left and enjoyed a great meal elsewhere. So if its a cold beer then I would recommend, if it’s a meal then go somewhere else as they don’t care about service. I must say never have I experienced being totally ignored in a restaurant like this anywhere in the world before. At first I thought maybe it was the tactic to make you buy more drinks, but hurting customers in this way is wrong and suggest both a staff and management policy change is implemented.
50 years old pub... you can smell history when you enter, crowed seems very nice and from the area itself Styl classy in its way. I would come back for sure for how cozy it’s .. first glance you think it’s closed from outside just kick the door to history and the cool atmosphere. I think I will come back for sure.the only sad part of it all that the host looking after my table did not like me somehow so I did not get any welcoming sign of him... he won’t spoil it all for me anyway.
The place has very good music and has comfortable seats. The food is good, also.Still, it is very tight, and there is NO MENU for drinks. So you need to know what you want, and still ask for prices. The staff was not friendly at all, and we paid 180 EGP +TAXES for one cup of box orange juice with vodka. They have only two cocktails and they are very weak and expensive.Still, the bottle of wine had a fair price, so we cant say we didnt like the place.
Very comfortable place, good drinks, much people but it makes the nice atmosphere! Prices are slightly high, but it is worthwhile. It is a perfect place to make new friends from several countries. I love the interior decoration and the very good service.
Nice cozy place. Very irish vibes and great music. Doesnt look like a great place from outside. Food was pretty good and drinks are as you expect them to be. Staff could be politer. Found the staff to be rude and arrogant. Wont visit again for this reason.
best place to get drunk and hangout with your friends. You can get chilled Egyptians beers.
Nice intimate bar with very nice food!
