Very good food, large variety. Lettuce wraps awesome along with the wings and homemade chips. Great service, even though they were packed, before concert. Highly recommend!

Always great food, nice ambience, attentive wait staff, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of spacing between tables. Have been in a number of times and never had anything that wasnt great. Try the beer cheese pretzel bites. I mean yum!

First time there . . . . . Great food and environment. Reasonable prices. We will be back!

This is my go to when we want to have a date night. They have great staff that are friendly and always ready to fill up your drinks! Their food is amazing. I always get the appetizer of Chicken Lettuce Wraps. They are so delicious and filling. Amazing choices of chicken sandwiches, beers and wine! Plus many other things! Definitely a place to have dinner!

I went there during the night. This.probably isnt the most helpful review because I didnt get any food or drinks but just hangout with friends. All my friends were drinking though and they all got their drinks in a timely manner and seemed to have no complaints. The music being played was fun and a great variety. Overall a fun atmosphere.

This is a relatively new bar/restaurant in downtown Cedar Rapids. Visited with a group of 10 before a concert and the service was excellent even though the place was absolutely packed. Everything ordered by our table was enjoyed immensely. Our table shared an order of Pub Nachos and a couple of folks shared the lettuce wraps. Both choices were excellent. I ordered the smokin hot chick sandwich with house made chips....it was excellent. A few of our party ordered burgers and said they were excellent. This is a great little place that I know we will be returning to often.

Pub 217 is the #1 place for an appetizer and it has to be the pretzel bites!! Best Ive had anywhere. Not pictured but also my favorite place for a drink, fresh squeezed lemonade vodka. Delicious!! Best place for a casual date night.

First time going here and the food was great and you get a significant amount as well. Looked very clean and they were accommodating. Brought in a group of nine and they moved tables around to fit us comfortably to my suprise. Seems they serve breakfast all day because thats what I got. French toast the best I ever had so far. So amount of food for the price well worth it and would be happy to go back again.

Heard this was a good place to eat so had to try. We ordered the Big burger and the bacon cheesy fries. Huge order of fries. 2 of us couldn’t eat them all. I did not at all like the taste of the burger . My husband says his was good though. The chili was good. We both ordered bacon and the waitress forgot it on both. $36. I have no desire to eat there again .

Just had lunch here with a friend today. The service and food were both terrific! Thanks to our server Ally who took great care of us. Would highly recommend and will visit again in the near future! A++

Pleasantly surprised! Food was incredible . Had fish tacos and bruschetta salad. Employees were pleasant, courteous but not over attentive. Consistency is the next test. Hope my next visit leaves me with the same satisfaction.

This is a great place to go for pub food before a show. I had the tenderloin, which completely meets the expectation of a good, Iowa tenderloin. Its crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, and waaaayyyy bigger than the bun--which is the best part! The fries are good, but get the chips--they are amazing!

Got an amazing hot dog with loaded fries. "T", our waiter, was very friendly and provided fast, excellent service.

Was in town for a wedding and stopped for lunch. The staff was super friendly, the portions were big and the food was delicious! Highly recommended!

Had the tenderloin, was delicious! The macaroni honestly looked pretty delicious though and I almost wish I had gotten that!

The steak salad is amazing I am a lover of salads, this is one of the best. My friends had burgers that were quite good as well!

Great food and atmosphere! The flavor of the Shy-Town hot dog was great, but almost impossible to eat without a fork and knife because it was 1/2# of dog in a woefully small bun.

Had the worst experience there drinks were weak too expensive over charged me in the first place and disrespected me and my friend probably because we werent quote on quote young enough for their taste. They need to learn how to treat their customers if they want them to come back

Definitely recommend for a casual dining experience with very reasonable prices! There is nothing casual about the food though! We ordered the Spin Dip appetizer, cocktails, beer, and entrées. Everything far exceeded our expectations. Service was exceptional as well, fast and friendly. Great atmosphere!

Cool staff nice food selection, could use more liquor choices

The atmosphere was clean. Well clean cut and dressed employees. Our waitress went out of her way to try to find the perfect drink for me....which she did. The food was delicious.....highly recommend this bar.

This is a great little place downtown. Whether you are stopping in on the weekend for a leisurely meal or popping in after work for a quick bite. They have great food including apps like corn nuggets, fried pickles and pretzel bites. Amazing salads (Corn on the Cobb is my favoritewraps, burgers or chicken strips or chicken sandwiches.

Yes, you want to come here. You thought you wanted to go to a couple different places nearby, but if you want good food youre going to want to come here.I walked in on a slower Monday night and was told to help myself to a seat. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. I ordered their 217 pub burger which was huge! It was cooked as instructed and came with all the toppings you could want plus more. I ended up cutting the burger in half to prevent any embarrassment of trying to devour this thing in front of people. The fries were pretty good. I wish they were better seasoned for how good the burger was. The side dish is equally as important as the entree. Perhaps next time Ill try their home made potato chips.Their beer selection was really good. They have a few large coolers of canned beer and a decent selection of on tap beer as well as hard liquor. I would highly recommend coming here for a good bite to eat and a drink. The place also had plenty of TVs playing multiple channels of the current sports games if thats up your alley.

A local favorite in CR. Excellent food, a large selection of spirits and drafts, and service is always above average even if wall-to-walk busy. Kitchen is open until 1:00 every night as well, so if you’re looking for a late night bite this is the place. I highly recommend 217 to anyone looking for great food at any hour (breakfast is even really goodor your favorite cocktail.

Went there just for a few drinks before our show we we’re going to. Great place friendly staff. This place was busy and the staff was even busier. Not sure how they handle the hustle and bustle but they did. Still had time to take care of all the tables and people just drinking at the bar. Wish we would have had time to eat. Burgers looked awesome.

Best burger of my life. I live 3 and a half hours away and Im going to drive it at least twice a month to have this food again. Well worth it. Daylia the bartender was amazing too. Great service and amazing food

We had a group of 9 for brunch. The food, service and price were all very good. Nice comfortable place to dine and have a couple drinks.

Have been here twice now and both times have been great. The first time was a patty melt and the second time I had the lettuce wraps. There are great options for both healthy and comfort foods.

Great food. Poor service. Manager mocked my friend cause she asked where the restroom was. Our server was no where to be seen. The other waitress was busy serving her friend/coworker shots. Took almost 2 hours for what should have been a quick lunch since we were the only patrons. Better be friends with staff to get any service/respect

Their food is phenomenal. One of my go-tos. Pretzel bites are a must. Fries are some of the best in town. Good service and bartenders. They are one of the few places that serve food late which is a bonus!

Service in the mornings/afternoons is terrible. Expect to wait 40+ minutes on food, and only have one server taking the whole restaurant. Breakfast was not good at all. Lunch is way better.

Absolutely delicious! I got the shy-town hot dog with goat cheese replacing the tomatoes (its huge! Look at the picture!). Very pleasantly surprised with the result! Great atmosphere and an attentive waitress, a little bit of a wait for the food, but well worth it!

Super slow service and ignored at the bar for about 15 minutes. Solid beer options on tap...not sure if understaffed, or didnt care?!

Went here as a small group. We all shared the pretzel bites with beer cheese, spinach & artichoke dip and the battered & fried pickle spears with ranch dressing. Also, three of us each had different styles of burgers, of which we all enjoyed (but I forgot to take pics). One person had the tenderloin, which they said they enjoyed (also no pic).I enjoyed the pretzel bites, they were fresh and light but a little bit salty so I just brushed some salt off of them. The beer cheese was tasty but I thought the beer flavor was a bit strong, and yes I do enjoy a beer every now and again.The fried pickle spears were THE BEST Ive ever had from anywhere! The batter on the pickles wasnt very thick (like most places), it was crunchy and well seasoned. Im pretty sure they make them fresh unlike most other places.Finally, I had the 217 burger with the BBQ sauce on the side, as I am always weary of different peoples versions of that sauce, and fries. My burger was perfectly cooked and topped, the veggies served on the side. I was pleasantly surprised with the BBQ sauce, it wasnt really sugary or even that sweet just perfectly sweet and peppery with a good spice blend. The fries were the thin/small kind, cooked perfectly and delicious.

This is my favorite bar in Cedar Rapids. The Hot N Creamy burger is ridiculously good and its hard to beat $3 Guinness on tap. Pub 217 became my go to spot for a tasty dinner and a cold drink.The location is great too if youre staying at the Doubletree.

A friend And I ate lunch at Pub217 (Saturday January 12th, 2019for the first time. We walked in 11:30 on a snowy morning and the place was empty, except for the four guys having drinks at the bar. I wanted to have drinks too; Looked like fun but we were not there to have beers we were there to eat. And eat we did!We started with "Fried Pickle Spears" /Ranch dressing on the side -delicious. Not that fried spears are-all gourmet and stuff but these spears were really the best I have ever had. The batter, which I think they make in house had a lot of dill. I appreciated that.I ordered "The Big Burger" with American Cheese and fries, which they make themselves. I ordered med rare "a little pink". It was not served that way but was very juicy and tasty. The fries were crispy, chewy and well seasoned.My friend enjoyed the "French Dip" with home made chips and she LOVED the chips! I enjoyed quite a few myself. They are cut waffle style but very thin (see attached picture).We left Pub217 very satisfied with the flavor of both the food and ambiance. The place really warmed up by 12:30; it was full with a variety of patrons, families, young people old people laughing and having fun.Total bill with an ice tea and diet mountain due was $34.00 plus tip. We were pretty generous because the service was very good and the wait staff was nice.

Awesome pub, awesome food, awesome experience! The shrimp tacos and french dip were fantastic! So were the pretzel bites, which I didnt get a picture of because we ate them too fast!

Always satisfied with this place. Have ate here the most in the past few years in Cedar Rapids. Amazing quality food for a good price. Great selection of tap beers. Use to work at the Double Tree and send everyone here during the day for lunch and never had any complaints. At night the music goes up. You can get food until 1AM.The burgers here are quality beef. Girlfriend and I usually split a burger and appetizer then still have some leftovers for later.
