Large park on the ground of a former stately home's gardens with mature trees and sports pitches.
Prospect Park is so varied, love the big old trees and open spaces which are great for a walk and always something new to discover. The lake needs some work doing, there are a lot of rats, despite the traps.
Lovely park. I spent an entire pandemic walking routes in and around it and never tire of the location. The council have now added crazy golf and intend to add more stuff for kids and a cafe too. We have a great mobile coffee bar open most days and my parent friends adore the kids playground. Theres even a bowling club and a harvester pub in the middle!
Plenty of parking and free car park, disabled toilets out of service. Coffee van and childrens playground.
Played the mini golf. Can recommend. Best thing they have done there for ages.
Great parkrun, staff are great as usual for a 9am saturday event. Thank you
Its a large park with good walking spaces, actual play area can do with an update and better fencing off so kids cant run in to park from play area.
Massive park which is great for sport and sport events! Boy oh boy did I get lost trying to find my vehicle at the end of the day
Been coming to Prospect Park since I was a little kid, and its still lovely, great for walking dogs, or running, or just enjoying the trees. ❤️
Big and quiet. Beautiful and peaceful. Best place to rest your soul and think about anything. I have got addicted to it and have come again and again, and again, and again!
Circus in the park.last performance. Great location. Grass looks a little sad through lack of rain, but still a nice place to be on a sunny 🌞 day.
Ye old Prospect Park. What a lovely park with different sections to hang out and enjoy.
Large play area with sections for different age groups. The zip wire was broken which was a shame but still plenty to do.
I like to go there and read in the park under the tree. Also I like to go and run in the park and it is very clean.I think is one of the best places to go with friends and family to relax in the nature.
Hasnt changed since I used to play rugby and cross country for my school Hugh Faringdon there. great space for family fun
Very huge park with free parking. Most of the events and fun fairs happen here. Open to all 24 hours.
Nice open green space which is the only nice thing I have to say about this park. Unfortunately there is rubbish everywhere and hundreds of rats especially around the under maintained pond. A lot of the paths are under maintained and the public toilet has been out of order for years. This park used to be a lot nicer but unfortunately has gone downhill
Disappointed with the stars of the show 😠 we booked months ago and we got half an hour of half hearted performance, actually disgusted with the lack of respect for long time and dedicated fans. The staff were amazing and the people who were there were lovely ❤️
Has a kids area which is much better now plenty events are done ✔ here race for life etc good for walking 🚶♂️ 🐕, picnicking playing sports, plenty of space for bored kids to round around 😉
Massive well maintained park, lovely play area for children and the Harvesters restaurant is great!
Brilliant today, the race for Life set up in the park was amazing. Just a lovely place to go for a walk or to sit in the shade.
What a lovely, peaceful park with really nice play areas. My grandchildren, who live nearby, love it. I really enjoy the open space and theres a nice restaurant there too.
Went for the motorshow on a sunny day. Trains were running and easy to park. Toilets closed about 4pm
Been today for car show. Parking was a £2 voluntarily charge. lots of nice cars. There was a stage but we arrived late so it was winding down. A little traffic around but not a lot
Good place for kids to hangout. Variety of equipments that offer kids entertainment. No toilets available so that might be one negative point.Have one mobile food stall with limited drink and. Food variety
I have used this Oark for all of my life. Great times as a kid and enjoy seeing it used by more people. Looking forward to seeing the new attractions.
Lovely park to walk around, to sit and contemplate or picnic with family or friends a great little coffee bar, Childrens play area, sports courts wild life pond it has it all
Having lived in the UK for 20 years and driven past many times Ive never stopped and explored this amazing landmark.i would recommend you do the same, take a couple of hours of your time and listen and learn about this amazing piece of history. We had a great time: the tour guides were fab and so knowledgeable and "3min18secondes" man inside the gallery was memorable ;)Ps: Facilities were also good and well looked after.
Lovely park, enjoying it since I was a child. Playground has been the same since I was young over 30yrs ago.
Very well kept green space, brilliant car boot sale every saturday (April to Septemberbut no toilet facilities (reason for 3 stars)as these were locked, not good at all !
Lovely park in reading. Nice park for children, adults and for pets alike. It has good car park and children activities to play. It has tennis courts, Ping Pong tables, small football pitches and lots of green place. Local park for fairs etc. Specially Miniature Railways on Sundays.
We visited the Mansion House (Harvester), the service was quite slow considering there wasnt many people there when we arrived. I think it would be better if you could serve your own salad at the salad bar
The kids play park is quite big but starting to show its age with some parts taken out of action. Lots of fields with football pitches and a small pond which is nice to walk around and play.
Nice fair with amazing colour.
Biggest Park closest to me. Multiple large field areas that are regularly used by dog walkers & sporting events like football tournaments etc. There is a miniature railway track that you can ride on (First Sunday of each month I think), a fenced pond and the childrens play area is dated but quite varied and provides plenty fun for toddlers to pre teen kids. most would be happy to play on the varied activities & apparatus for hours & hours. There is also a few picnic tables that are mostly shaded by large trees. There is dedicated fenced 5 a side/basketball courts, tennis courts, bowling green and 2 all season outdoor table tennis tables. I recall seeing media coverage that the childrens play area was to be renovated/redesigned a number of times over the last 6 years or so but it looks the same unfortunately. There is a Harvester on the grounds with a reasonable sized bar, large indoor & outdoor seating including dedicated function rooms that require pre-booking and adequate free parking for the restaurant.
Huge park not in the center of the city but litle outside.I visited but by the time fair was organized there. This park is so huge to play with kids and pets. Also cycling is best option.Havent seen restrooms around but will visit this park again to explore more on it.Cheers to life!!!
A beautiful well maintained park with natural beauty
I mainly go there on the first Sunday of each month as I am one of the drivers at the miniature railway at the park. On the other side of the park a new playground has been installed.
Large play area with a variety of different climbing frames, slides, swings, etc. plus a large sand pit. There is plenty to do for children of all ages, and for the most part it is in pretty good condition. The no park can get busy especially in the warm weather and there is often an ice cream van.Public toilets and a car park in close proximity to the play area. And further up into the park is a restaurant called The Mansion House. At the time of writing I believe it is a Harvester and I have always enjoyed meals there.I would definitely recommend a visit but as it is very open plan you need to supervise your kids at all times as there is a main road close by.
Great place to go and entertain the children. Great for walks and there is place for picnic and a park for the little ones to play in. There is also big car park so no problem with parking. Some weekends they have a mini train running and you can ride on it. They have lots of events and car boots there too. Great place to go and relax and have a great time with the family. There is a reasonably priced restaurant on site which is great for the little ones too or even just to pop in for a coffee with ample parking on site.
Very nice large Park. A lot of Shady area for picnics. Ample space for kids to ride bikes and play. Car park available on one side of the parkIt open green grass fields and trees to enjoy. well maintained and plenty of shaded areas for extended family gatherings during these timesAlso a Nice place to walk the dog or play football or games with the kids
Brilliant park, awesome slides and a sand pit aswell as a giant field for picnics and sports 😀
Really good for scooters
Nice for going for a walk! Also in the park theres a restaurant you can have coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its called The Mansion House Harvester.
I just saw it from the outside but it really seems like a very good, peaceful place. I will probably go there to run, or reading a book or just go there with my big family! Its a really big park. Wonderful 👏
The best park in Reading.I am going there every day. I have a lot of things to do. Joking _ training _ basketball_ tennis❤❤❤
Beautiful park with Harvester restaurant at the top. You can have a running, play with your children, watch football matches and have a nice walk.
One of largest parks in Reading. Includes a playground and a pub with a view
A great public park in Tilehurst Reading with outdoor facilities for running, walking, tennis, children’s play area and Harvester Restaurant with its own free parking. The parking is free for all and it’s a great place for jogging and running around the path encircling the park. There’s a bowling club near the Harvester restaurant, tennis courts and 6 a side football courts. There’s no coffee shops or any other outlets selling anything but in summer an ice cream van does appear to do a great business. It’s a very convenient place to organise outdoor events with permission of the local council and there are a few events happening each year - food festival etc..
Nice grounds for kids to play around or family picnic. Plenty of football pitches, tennis court on site. Wooded area is small but nice and clean. There is cycle track through the grounds and toilets on site. In short its brilliant recreational area which as been maintained very nicely.
A great spot for a picnic and/or an evening walk. When we visited yesterday evening there were many people walking dogs, playing sports, or just popping in for a quick drink or a bite to eat at the Manor House on the top of the hill.
