Princesa do Castelo - Vegan restaurant in Belas, Portugal
Whether you’re looking for a spot outside in the sun or some shade inside with some amazing vegan and gluten-free food (main and dessertsand fresh juices, this is the place to go! Service was quick and very friendly!
Lovely little vegan restaurant among the nearby sea of tourist traps. Tasty seasonal food, made to order. We had the vegan caldeirada and it was lovely. Limited menu but all vegan. Lovely attentive staff.
I go often. Its my favourite vegan restaurant in all of Lisbon, and the location cant be beat. The menu is different every day, so you know its fresh and made with love. The owner is a really kind, nice man. Theres always a few options for main courses, its fairly priced, and the experience always leaves me feeling not only well-fed in my stomach, but in my soul.
Unfortunately after reading the amazing reviews, we were disappointed with the food we ate here. The staff were very kind the food was served pretty quickly though. My uncle enjoyed his vegan omelette but my partner and I had the daily special and it just completely lacked flavour and was much too simple for the price. As vegans for 6+ years we’ve tried countless restaurants and cafes. This wasn’t one to recommend. Perhaps this particular daily special was a miss and other days it’s amazing... it might be worth another try some other time.
The Meal was very delicious, I really recommend it.Unfortunately its not possible to pay with credit card. An ATM is right around the corner, but thats really old school..
Fantastic flavours and excellent service. Hands down the best meal weve had in Lisbon! Nandan (the hostwas very welcoming and shared many helpful tips about Lisbon with us. We cant wait to return!!
Great experience. Stopped in for coffee and dessert! Loved it! Very warm atmosphere and owner! Will be back for dinner!
Not many items on the menu, it is basic and simple. Its making it faster to decide and we can guess that at least everything would be freshly made.Perhaps its little pricey for Lisbon but nothing too crazy. The vegan lasagna was good and the cake too, but not exceptional.
The Pani Poori starter was definitely a good choice, very interesting taste and textureMain dish was Portobello steak with seasoning and salad, which was deliciousDessert was also mastered, I had a raw vegan chocolate with berry with a cashew baseThanks again for the tasty food and lovely service!
Lovely food, lemonade is freshly made. With or without sugar. We had lunch here, shared the food. It was really nice. Bruscetta, potatoes, paani poori and an omelette. All vegan. We were really full and satisfied afterwards 🥰
Just had dinner at Princesa do Castelo and I would 100% come back here! The food was delicious and the owner is such a nice person. Thanks for the great experience 🥰
Really recommend the restaurant! Here you will get Indian cuisine you are not familiar with (south india), and some portuguese vegan options as well. The food is full of flavor and Nandan (the owneris always nice to us :)
Vegan Indian cross over food, made with love for the cause. My favourite was a crispy Indian crepe with savoury filling. The location is nice. The large tables will surely bring people together.
Absolutely amazing tasty vegan food and lovely chef !! A must order if you are in Lisbon, its delicious, healthy and lipsmacking !!! #supportsmallbusiness #vegan #vegansinlisbon #restaurantsinlisbon
Very nice vegan restaurant. The food was great, original and very tasty! The staff was very nice, explaining us every plate. A place to come more than once!
A very very good vegan/vegetarian restaurant in the middle of Alfama, Lisbon! It can be difficult to find nice vegan food in Lisbon, but with this restaurant you can not go wrong! They cook everything fresh and are not expensive at all! I actually got a bigger delivery from them for an event and everything was perfect! Everyone was really happy trying vegan delicatess 😊
Delicious food, great atmosphere. The people are very lively.
Loving this place! Could imagine coming here everyday not feeling bad about it. Interior is very woody and warm, not this cool/fancy over doing it, where you feel like you’re not allowed to be natural. The staff is so so nice! Very light positive vibes in here. Thank you a lot! 🧡
This is a great little vegetarian restaurant. The food was so good. The flavorful salad with avocado was delicious. The goulash was out of this world. They are closed until mid January 2020 for some remodeling so I’ll have to wait until then to go back.
I liked this place so much, I went twice! Great food, nice atmosphere. The menu was short (only two main dishes), but it was different each time I went. I had a lovely chickpea stew the first time and a tofu, basil and cashew dish the second. The desserts looked amazing (vegan pastel de nata!).
Location: After so much walking, I lost track of where I was. Maybe be Graça... maybe Alfama? The place: Very small and cozy spot with just a few tables. Theyve got exactly one table outside! The goods: I had the vegetable curry with rice and it was great. It wasnt hot enough (it was very lukewarmbut the curry, though mild, was flavorful. The dish was filling without being heavy. I also ordered their ice tea and it was fantastic. Everything is home-made, and the menu is short.Service: Good!Price point: Under 10€This is a great spot if youre vegetarian or simply looking for a healthy option.
If I could rate this place more than 5 stars, I would. I stumbled across this on the first day of my travels. As a jet-lagged vegan who hasn’t had solid vegan options since leaving home, to say I was excited was an understatement. The food was awesome. I had the cauliflower soup and the chickpea “omelette” which had so many veggies inside. Honestly one of the best vegan meals I’ve had. Also I loved how much fun the kitchen crew was having. Singing along to music, joking with each other and being friendly with me. Loved this place.
What a wonderful discovery in Lisboa. Best vegetarian meal I had for a long time, tasty with a lot of details. Friendly staff, delicious deserts. Everything that I tried was original with a great taste! Obrigado.
I have just spent a very nice hour at this cosy, friendly eaterie with the best music, efficient, friendly staff and I have to say the most succulent and imaginative vegetarian food I have had for a long time. I cannot understand why you are getting so many negative comments on here. What is wrong with people! I know a delicious dining experience, and Princess do Castelo was one. I will be back for more soup :)
We had a super yummy chickpea omelette and a sandwich besides a salad starter (part of the brunch till 5pm). Staff was friendly, music relaxed. Great vegan spot nearby the castle!
Super cute n awesome place! Their vegan pastel de Nata is amazing!!!!!! Have to try!
I mean it was okay. Staff are nice sure, we had a couple of beers so no effort needed on those . Food options seemed really limited? Like a couple of starters and a main or two to choose from. We just had nachos and olives and hummus and its exactly how it sounds, packet crisps, standard olives, average hummus.
Atmosphere and staff were fine. They had many TripAdvisor certificates .... So we hoped that it would be good but it was a huge let down. The food was not bad but it wasnt restaurant standard and it was expensive. It was similar to what I would make for dinner if I was in a rush. The toilets were very dirty and the plates were massively chipped all over. If you want to spend 5euro on chips and dip then go here. The money will be put to buying up votes from the dark web.
I had the vegan burger which was fine. But the real disappointment was the Princesa salad. Please have a look at the picture attached - they opened a can of kidney beans, a can of corn, added some pieces of apple, one lettuce leaf, a few olives - and I dont know if they forgot the seasoning - but I couldnt recognize any salat dressing, salt or spices at all. For me this salad was just not worth the 5 Euros it costs.
Neat little place. Had a lunch menu and liked it a lot. Grab the seat outside and enjoy the rush atmosphere while sipping their house wine.
This is great place , amazing food and sangria! Pie was delicious, well recommended
The food was good and they have really good sangria, but you guys need to be really careful with paying. In the beginning we received ice tee we didnt order, and in the end we became a bill which was handwritten and with different prices than in the menu. (!Its really a pity, because its such a nice place with the atmosphere.
Calm atmosphere, average prices and portion size. There are few options for mains and starters, one soup. You can get glass of house vine for € 1,80. Food was served very quick. And we found variety of sides on plates.
Princesa do Castelo is a vegan spot in the middle of the old town with a changing menu. The food was so tasty and original - in the best way. We really liked the psychedelic interior too. Best vegan lasagna we ever had.
As soon as i got in i fell in love with this restaurant. The staff is lovely and welcoming, and the food is just 👌🏻❤️
I visited this place twice, and its extremely delicious there. 15/10 would recommend! Thanks a lot 💗💗
Nice cozy place. They have a concept of having different menu every day. We were satisfied. Nothing outstanding but nice tasty meal and soup.
This delicious vegan place serves great food on a rotating menu. We ate there three times during our Lisbon visit and found every meal delicious! What a terrific team!
Lovely gem that serves fresh vegan and vegetarian food.
It was so lovely here! A cute restaurant that produces delicious food! Would love to go back and see what other dishes they make! Menu changes everyday, and they also have yummy vegan Portuguese tarts that we were dying to try. Recommend!
It is a unique vegan place. All dishes taste authentic healthy and free of any junk or unhealthy ingredients. The place is relatively small and it looks like it is at the same time a restaurants and the place to hang out for the owners and their friends. Someone might like it someone not. The waitress did not care to return the change after we paid. Food was, however, of a good quality.
Delicious vegan food and wonderful service. The restaurant is beautiful inside too with a very unique floor. Highly recommend.
Small but very nice place. I am not into raw cakes but main dish was perfect, totally worth the visit.
(12/2017)On the recommendation of our tour guide Ines we stopped by in this lovely, little restaurant. Tiny place, but a lot of good energy, positive vibes and funny decoration. The staff was very nice and polite and food was very good! Prices for smoothies and handmade meals were absolutely reasonable.Thank you for this little break to recharge ourselves! :-)
Truly amazing food. Very cozy setting. Creative cooking made with love. Very friendly and pleasant staff
The food was very yummy, the wine was nice, too and we received our order very fast. It was a bit chilly inside because of the door wide open, but overall a good place to have a healthy & tasty meal.
The menu changes every day. We had a Thai rice/bean/stew that was delicious. Waitstaff was kind and attentive and gave us a great recommendation for live music in the neighborhood. One note: "nachos" are not nachos in the American sense...just chips and salsa. Go for the daily menu specials instead!
Delicious raw mango curry with zoodles and healthy smoothies perfect for a hot day. Friendly and welcoming staff.
We visited a whole bunch of vegan/vegetarian restaurants during our week in Lisbon, but this one turned out to be both mine and my partners favourite! The place itself so small and cozy and the staff ever so friendly. And the food! Everything we tried here was just perfectly composed and exciting. And 100 % vegan!
Fantastic 100% vegan place. Great decor, great staff, great vibe and very popular with locals and tourists. The food is fantastic, wholesome and filling and modestly prices. I really cant think of a single criticism... Good cocktails too!
