Came here for a pub meal. The meal was good and the service was quick and efficient.

The meat lover chicken Parma was outstanding. The best Parma Ive had for a long time. Definitely worth a visit.

Meal was great but not enough GLUTEN FREE meals on offer.

Alright meals, disabled toilet access was blocked off as had a big booking that night so by the time the 10 tables and chairs were set up and people sat in them there was no access to the disabled toilet, the only way to get inside is through the pokies if your in a wheelchair (which I am)which sucks if youve got children as they cant walk through the pokies. The entrance for wheelchairs isnt great but pass able

The Prince of Wales Hotel in Penola is an oldie but a goody. There is no rush hour for lunch, and my pizza was delicious, and I brought half of it home! Yes the serve was more than sufficient. Penola is a a peaceful place. There are plenty of shopping opportunities. More so for the girls than the blokes. If you are at all religious, then the Mary Macillop school house is a must visit. Her story is wonderful and is worth spending time here. You will not regret this visit. Happy travels!

Was great to feel human again

Phoned ahead to ask for closing of the kitchen. Told of our group of 12 would be ok if we ordered before 2pm. Arrived at 1:55 and were promptly turned away as the kitchen was closed. The dining room was completely empty though pizzas were still being served to front bar patrons. If I was the owner, considering all venues have struggled in recent years, I would be furious with the staff!! We spent over $500 elsewhere

Standard pub fare, cant go wrong.

Pretty basic pub, the Parma was good, service ok, was let down by staff as we were standing to be seated and they kept walking past us and not acknowledging we were there. Overall family of 5 $103 including 2 glasses of wine was pretty good. Atmosphere very quiet with only 1 other table occupied.

I had a nice inexpensive meal at lunch. Service was quick. Staff were very friendly and polite.A nice selection on the specials board.

Food took ages to be served on a quiet Tuesday night in winter. Food lukewarm, sent back to kitchen, came back lukewarm. How flipping hard is is to serve up warm food. Muppets

Only pub open on the town currently. Decent menu with standard pub meals. Steak was well cooked, but a bit too fatty for me. Reasonable choice of beers on tap including coopers and furphy.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Robe. Was a lovely meal, both adults and kids, and service was friendly. Nice atmosphere. We would happily come back again.

Okay meal, definitely not what it used to be. Used to be the best of the best in the region however, this has changed in the last year. Not the worst experience...

I cannot express how fantastic this pub is and would highly recommend it to others. We were a bus group of 19 doing a day Coonawarra visit. Therefore we were on a tight schedule and only had 1 hour for a lunch break. On contacting the hotel, the menu was forwarded, meals were selected and sent back prior to the day. On arrival we found our meals already docketed. Meals were at the table ten mintes in from our arrival. I must add that all meals were of an excellent standard. A huge thankyou to the management and staff who made our visit pleasurable. Service and friendliness of staff were highly rated. Well done. All attending will highly recommend your pub in he future

Great meals, best pub meals in Penola with salad bar. Great range on the menu with a decent wine list.

We stopped for lunch after visiting some wineries. Service with in a minute & food out with 15. S& P squid tender & yummy.

Not really impressed with the food and drink.Ordered for "well done" meat but it was half cook.bought some shiraz and they kept it in the fridge,was very cold.not really happy with the food and drink.but customer care was good.

A nice, warm and friendly pub. Meals were good quality pub fare. Salad bar appeared to not be regularly filled.

You get everything you can expect from a typical pub. The bonus is the seafood menu. Gummy shark and garlic prawns are two decent dishes.

The service was friendly and warm. The food was tasty and what you would expect from a small town pub. I would eat here again.

Just enjoyed the food and the amazing staff. Locals are happy to come and speak if you approach them with questions about the area. Just dont take dogs to the park across the road, there are few if any markers to say dogs are not allowed

Food was of average quality and the service did not exist. Attempting to address complaints with the manager resulted in being told to leave immediately. Not impressed and not recommended.

Please dont eat here. Do yourself a favour. I was served a half frozen pile of cannelloni. Sent it back. It returned as a different shaped pile of cannelloni. Still frozen in the middle and scalding on the outside. I got my money back. That was the positive of the experience. This is my first ever review. And one if the very few times I ever complain at a restaurant. We were only at there because the Pipers if Penola was shut.
