Primo Estate Winery - Winery in Adelaide, Australia
We visited Primo Estate with our cousins. The place is beautiful, the ladies are very professional and very good. The bread with olive oil and cheese were nice and the wines beautiful.
I have to about that we went to this one as it was the first Ive we came across that was open and didnt require a booking. Lucky us though.Loved the whole experience and they had a lot of super wines to try. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. There was a $10 and a $20 choice of tasters and if you bought some wine it was taken off. Spent way more than I should so it must have been good! Loved the prosecco in particular.
Lovely venue with a great team. Wines are amazing and so exciting to try so many different varietals Ive never heard of before! Weve gone home with loads to enjoy this summer yummmm
Great wines service with a smile
Im no winery expert, but we visited a few over our time here and this winery was the best without doubt.Super friendly staff, value for money ($10 tasting per person, redeemable of any bottle you buywith some beautiful bread and fresh olive oil and the best wines of our visit.Highly recommended.
Just as wonderful when we visited the last time 5 years earlier. Great wines, great service. It was fun to try the lighter flight this round - lots of tasty and fun different offerings to enjoy.
Was pleasantly surprised. It was not too busy which we liked because the staff were very attentive and explained each of the wines and you didnt feel rushed. All Italian varieties and some varieties we havent tried before which is always interesting. I liked the architecture of the building as well.
Good wines with some interesting varietals. Overpriced tasting. I purchased a bottle but the price of the tasting wasnt waived as advertised.
Wonderful tasting. Hour and a half of great wine, bread, cheese and olive oil. Tasting fee deducted from purchase price of wine we bought. Lovely hostess.
Loved the tasting experience here. The staff, the wine and the complementary olive oil and bread. A must visit in McLaren Vale
Fantastic experience. Amazing wine and lovely staff, plus they make great olive oil too.I highly recommend the $20 tasting. We donโt live in SA but thanks to the wine club we will get their wines and olive oil soon๐
Wonderful wine and olive oil, great value and great service.
Very nice and quiet place, nice view of the garden. Great range of wines with great value for money wine tasting.
Spent couple of hours there to taste the range of amazing wines. Phenomenal experience.Joseph the Fronti is not a wine, its simply a piece of Italian art.Bought two bottles straight away and took with us to Melbourne. ๐๐Well Fin done guys!P.S. a quick naming suggestion for the bread and olive oil combo: "to the paradise and back" honestly, am not even kidding ๐
Fantastic wines - Fantastic Service. I got in quick to order some of the Joseph Sparkling Red NV. Ordered 14 October - delivered in Brisbane 15 October. Incredible ! Awesome service. Highly recommended !
First time I went, I was blown away with how great of an experience this was. After being back a few times to do the $20 tasting, its still by far my favourite winery to visit. What stands out the most is the level of care and effort that is put into the tastings, with really wonderful explanations about the different types of wine and how they are made. The winery itself has a stunning modern look and the wine and olive oil are fantastic.
Modern cellar door with a great selection of wines. Superb seated tasting experience loved the bread, cheese and olive oil nice touch!
Both couples had been here for tasting previously and looking forward again to the tasting and looking to stock up on lots of wines and olive oil. We turned up for our tasting and were greeted enthusiastically, as we settled in to start tasting we were informed that a new person was going to be doing our tasting. We were ok with that except she was left alone to perform the tasting and you could see she was reading notes between tastings and had no real experience in doing tastings or letting us know the history, geography of the wines and vineyards. We had to ask for the olive oil tasting and it wasnt a great informative experience. The initial person only showed up for the sales. We only bought a portion of what we intended, and in our haste to get out of there we never really interrogated the bill as we should have and we were delivered a $90 bottle that we never even tasted. Sooo disappointed. The wines themselves were good, but with so many good wineries I am not sure that they will receive future business. After posting the review Primo have contacted me and adjusted their process so this wont happen to other customers and reimbursed me for the wine that I hadnt tasted. Very appreciative of thier gesture and I have purchased some of their Prosecco as we have had it in the past and loved it!
We went for a tasting here and it was the highlight of our wine tour. It was a fantastic, uncomplicated, and friendly experience with the favourite wines of our trip through Mclaren vale. The breads and oils were just the icing on the cake.HIghly recommend.
The best wine in Mclaren Vale!Had a brilliant tasting with my wife for our anniversary, perfect descriptions of wines accompanied with great service! the olive oil is also exceptional.
Always a favourite in McLaren Vale, South Australia! Go visit ๐๐ท
One of the best small wineries in Australia. Primo Estate has always been good to us, and we enjoy returning every time we come to Adelaide. I strongly recommend visiting, and joining the Double Pruners Club if you like the wine. If I could give 6 stars I would.
We found this winery three years ago on a visit to Adelaide. Loved the wines and the staff were so helpful. Returned again recently and had another great experience. Wine tasting with cheese platter a must, if you like Shiraz you cannot beat their angel gully Shiraz, moda cab sav is great too. The olive oil is Devine but they sell out quickly.
Great location and the wines all tasted very good. Excellent service too.
Wonderful wines and Stella provided us with a lovely backstop on each wine. Would highly recommend dropping in
We loved it so much we couldnโt hear our teenagers complain. A beautiful cellar door with gorgeous wines and an all round enjoyable experience. Visited to buy a couple of wines but ended up buying 12 more - one of which (the Zamberlanwe are enjoying right now.
We found this winery from though word of mouth, and it definitely didnt disappoint. We had an amazing experience trying all the wines and Jesse explained everything very well. He made us feel very welcome. Very good value for money. We enjoyed trying the different styles of wines we havent had before. Beautiful modern setting. Thank you!
Had a wonderful experience tasting the Joseph range at Primo Estate. Exceptional service and really great wines. Spent more than intended. ๐ค
Absolutely brilliant! 5 start setting without the stuffy attitude. Staff were generous with their time and their hospitality. A family winery, and we were lucky to have Danny (one of the Sonsto help us. We arrived sweaty in cycling gear and were treated like old friends, and treated to some amazing wines! So classy Primo....well done! If only this level of humble, genuine service were more prolific in Australia, you are a shining light! Olive oil and Sangiovese are first class - bravo!
Great selection of wines and a very friendly bunch of staff. Had a great time at the tasting and walked away with 4 bottles of wine and a bottle of olive oil. Highly recommend the Merlot.
We had a great experience of the Josephโs tasting menu inclusive of cheese, bread and some delicious olive oil, not to mention some exceptional wines. The service couldnโt be faulted and the staff were very accommodating of our two kids in tow.
Best Clean toilets seen. nice little sample tables. No bar stools at sample bar but so for older adults is not good but if you ask then barman will supply one. Only place with undercover parking. Great service
Mark serving us was very hospitable and went beyond with his service. Wines are amazing value and very well priced. Not to mention the olive oil and building are perfect
An unintended stop on our wineries trip, but what a great mistake! I had not included this winery on our list as I thought we wouldnt like Italian reds, but I was very mistaken. We were suitably impressed by the wines, and equally by the service, the views and the conversation with our host, Mark. Impressive tasting room and surrounds, even the bathrooms are worth a peak. We enjoyed some nice bread, oil and cheese while we were there too!
Judy took great care of us. She shared with us lots of knowledge about the Italian style wines (the last two reds on the list being our favouritesoffered to bubble wrap and tape up our wine so we can carry it overseas and let us experience the delicious olive oils with fresh bread. (Very recommended). We were pretty lucky the rain drove out most all other customers so she was able to help us exclusively, though I doubt she would be any less brilliant with more customers. She also recommended the best local wines.Thank you for a lovely rainy afternoon!
Awesome wine tasting with Daniel, $5 pp waived with purchase. Family winery and staff, Italian themes. Amazing fortified, sparkling Shiraz and olive oil yum yum definately recommend
Primo Estate has always been a favourite, love to either have a quick stop by wine taste or a sit down wine taste with their top picks and amazing bread with pecorino cheese, will never forget their own made olive oil as well. Definitely recommend when touring around McLaren Vale๐๐ผ๐
LA DOLCE VITA indeedFrom the moment you arrive at the beautiful cellar door with its clean and simple lines the Italian charm welcomes you.Such a great place to taste these winesI am looking forward to the wine nights that Primo host in Melbourne.
Elegant setting and excellent range of wines. Very knowledgeable staff on the history of the winery and the origin of each wine. Judy was lovely and guided us out-of-towners on the best stops on the way home. Also the free bread and olive oil was delicious ๐๐พ highly recommend a stop here.
Came here on a whim and loved every minute. Impeccable service and top quality wine and olive oil. One of our favourites.
Best cellar door experience we had in Mclaren Vale. We were lucky enough to do our tasting with Mark and he was excellent, letting us try a wide range of their wines including a few more special bottles which had been opened for a separate event, good timing or what! As a result we were more than happy to purchase quite a few bottles of theird delicious wines to bge delivered back to Melbourne. I will certianly be buying more in the future and hope to attend some of their Melbourne events too.
Great morning in fantastic location. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent wines. Loved the bread and olive oil too.
The staff here are wonderful. For five dollars you can taste test the Primo Estates range of wines: 8 wines from a light sparkling white and finishing with a full-bodied Italian Red. The bar taste testing is held in a beautiful court yard with lovely jazz music playing. Beautiful way to spend a morning or afternoon.
Fabulous family winery, excellent experience! Would strongly recommend the Joseph experience!!! The sparkling Shiraz is sensational as well.
Always fun enjoying the surrounds at Primo with there great wine. Angel Gully Shiraz and The Moda are two of my favourite Mclaren Vale drops.Enjoy the great olive oil and crusty bread with the tasting.
We had a lovely tasting experience at Primo. Mark was friendly and knowledgeable and the wines were consistent and very good. Our favourite in McLaren Vale so far.
Been going here for years, and always the first place we take our interstate visitors when they come to McLaren vale for the first time. Brilliant wines, brilliant service, and always a fantastic experience. Couldnt recommend Primo highly enough.
This place is definitely worth stopping in and visiting when doing winery tours in McLaren Vale. They have some great views and some fantastic wines to sample. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
A really bizarre feeling walking in to the compound. I call it a compound because the architecture feels like a converted prison, but its good, something interesting. Good wines, a mix of the wine makers imported Italians and locals of the same process so great to get a bit of wine education in here.
Simply the best Cellar Door in McLaren Vale - period!! The wines are exceptional and the staff are very friendly. Thanks Primo for a great experience yet again. :)
