2 Oxford Castle, New Rd, Oxford OX1 1AZ, Lai
Casual Italian chain restaurant for stone-baked pizzas and classic pastas, plus separate kids' menu.
Only Italian name staff doesn’t know whats going on
must be a great place, well, after I went there, I realized that the workers spoil everything
Awful. Visited during half term as they had an offer kids eat free. Never eaten such bland food at a high cost. Was told they couldnt offer a discount but to provide feedback, when trying to do so as leaving the restaurant they provided me with an invalid service number. I had previously visited the Prezzo restaurant in Bicester and loved it. Unfortunately the prezzo in Oxford did not match. Bland food and a waste of money. So disappointed.
Im not sure why this restaurant scored a 4/5. The pasta portions are on the small side, pizzas where bigger but skimp on the topping. Kids meals were quite good. I dont think Ill go back.
Lovely place to eat and friendly kind staff. Thank you for a nice dinner everyone 😊
We had pasta which was fine. The service was a bit slow. There was a parking option in front of the restaurant
Good food, but obviously very understaffed. Waiting times between courses were totally unacceptable, especially as the restaurant was nearly empty. Dirty plates left on the table, no one asking if we required anything else, loud inappropriate language from the kitchen between the chef and three waiting staff. A lesson in how not to do hospitality. I certainly would not recommend this otherwise very beautiful and delightfully located restaurant.
We ordered first pizza, they bring us another, but in bill they counted third pizza with tops which looks like our first ordered pizza. the waiter tried to get out
We were a big group of people, food was ok but what I think was the manager, blond lady, was very rude since the beginning of the evening and throughout the whole night. I understand she might have had a bad day but she shouldnt get that to work, wont go there again.
First time ordering from Prezzo and do not recommend. Started my order (tomato pasta and friesat 21:00 and at 23:00 the food didn’t arrive. After hours of waiting for my dinner they canceled my order, very disappointed.
Very good service and food! The manageress very attentive. The portions are large and very nice. Hopefully we will come back.
The food and service are amazibg . We had a large party there lately a d was great and cozy .
Ordered the Penne Arrabbiata al Forno pasta and it was tasteless. I could’ve made better at home. Ordered garlic bread too but they forgot it and I finished eating my pasta so no point of the bread.
There food is nice, but the serve the wine and u never see the bottle.... Its not correct, the wine should be served in front of the customer... The rest... Correct
Very tasty, enjoyable and relaxed meal. Service good. One minor quibble, the chicken in my pasta dish was a bit on the tough side.
We arrived at 1800 on a Saturday without reservations. The manager wanted to make it work and asked if we could be out in an hour. Service was prompt, courteous, and genuine. We had an order of olives and Calimari that came out quickly and were well prepared. We split a ceasee salad and their Posh Pepperoni pizza, both were great. The management and staff set this place apart- they both want it to work. We had a great conversation with a waitress from Malta that was very rewarding. A well run restaurante with great food and staff. On
I had a lovely lunch. Real Italian taste and staff its lovely and friendly.
Very small restaurant considering the size of the city. Food was really nice but staff not very attentive. There was a few staffing issues due to covid. Just didnt get the same prezzo service with a smile.
Good service good location nice atmosphere average food
Had a lovely meal with my husband whilst in Oxford. Easy to reserve a table, ate inside. Service was great, food was wonderful and the price was great. My husband reported that the meatballs melted and were the best he has eaten. Plenty of food on the plates. Will go again if in the area.
Good food, prompt and courteous service. Happy customers.
This place can be a bit hit and miss. we’ve had some great meals here and they’re wonderful at seating people last minute, but we’ve also had some rather unimpressive meals. We’ve tried everything from salads to pizza to pasta to kids meals and while most of it was nice there were some big let downs. For example we went with my nephews one week and their burgers were burnt and served on very dry bits of (I thinkciabatta instead of normal burger buns, then next week we went with my niece and her pizza was lovely.
Staff were great and found a table for us at short notice one evening. Good food and drink. Thank you.
How would we know? We were seated at dirty, possibly unsanitised, table. The restaurant was not particularly busy, perhaps 4 tables full inside and 4 tables outside. Prior to our order being taken my husband politely called over an Italian server, perhaps a waitress or perhaps the manager, who knows? He wasnt asked what he wanted - which was someone to wipe over the table. To be told, someone is coming to take your order and a call of be patient as she walked away. How very rude! Needless to say we left due to the extreme lack of customer service!
We had a really good meal here. The service and food were really good. Using a meerkat discount also meant exceptional value
Service and food was great and very covid secure
Brilliant service ! Food was amazing! A bit pricey but I was expecting that being in a tourist place.
first meal here since pre lockdown, and prezzo never fail to deliver. staff are just fantastic, food excellent as always. once again, a great meal, and great night, even with the covid rules
Its a bit joke the size of the calzone its even bigger the salad. It was cold.
Very bad service, rude staff (apart from the Romanian guy, serving us), cold and not fresh food. I would never visit again. Luckily, we had a great time at Big Society, as we left as soon as we finished our food...which made our day much better! I regret it cause I had booked a table two weeks ago, we could have visited so many other restaurants in the area.
What a beautiful setting, outdoor dining only, due to covid, but plenty of tables in a cobbled street with battlements topped buildings all around. Food was lovely, usual menu, but service was lacking. Drinks not arrived when ordered, starter missed off the order so arrived late (there were only 3 of us), they really didnt seem that bothered. After wed paid (been there for best part of 2 hoursasked to use the toilet and went inside to be turned away by the manager as we werent customers. Good to know he pays attention to both who his customers are and how their experience had been. Not my favourite and would not choose to go back.
As always: excellent service, one of the few place left in Oxford where you see the same staff. The food just seems to taste better every time we visit. All in a very pleasant atmosphere and good value.
We had a lovely lunch time meal on the 2 or 3 course lunch menu. We were approached quickly with a smile, makes a difference to me, sets the way forward. Were had a great 3 courses nothing was rushed, we felt no pressure to leave.
Double pepperoni doesnt have much pepperoni on it, pizza bites and calamari are meh
Service and food was as good as any Prezzos. This one was particularly popular due to its location and beautiful terrace dining area which was full from start to finish of our meal. I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment.
Called in on a Saturday evening for some dinner. 2 courses plus a drink for 17 quid each was great value. Food and service excellent!
Really disappointing, mixed quality of food, pizza and lasagne excellent, salads terrible. Wont go again, staff not interested, dishes not served as advertised, no explanation, no apology. Plenty of other better places to go.
Very nice place. We were having dinner and we ordered Carbonara Spaghetti Wich was really good. Young guys were very professional and friendly. Blonde manager? was very attentive.
Went to Prezzo in Oxford for dinner. Restaurant was based near the Castle in Oxford. Impressive starter + main - great value for money (£11.50). The Carbonara was served with Chicken as well. Very filling + tasty.
Best pizza restaurant chain. Great menu, excellent food and very attentive service. Highly recommended
Great food. Loved the spicy carne calzone.
Good food at fair prices. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Will be coming again to try more items from the menu.I recommend the prawns starter- succulent, juicy and full of flavour.
Good food, amazing service, however the location was hard to access and I wouldnt want to have to find it on my own in the dark
Try the black (vegetable carbonbase pizza
The restaurant isn’t where Google says it is. It’s behind this location, in the same courtyard as Malmaison and 1855 Wine Bar & Cafe.
Lovely food, polite staff and always freshly cooked high quality food
The staff are so friendly. Really great for a relaxed lunch. Value for money.
I was there few times already and my visit few days ago was the best so far. You can see that something improved there . Staff was really attentive ( maybe even slightly too muchand food without any complaints as well. Everything in reasonable prices and on top of that gourmet card accepted as well which gives you 25% discount.
Very good food and really nice staff very clean would recommend it to my family and friends
Good food, friendly staff, good prices. Very accommodating of small children.
