Unlimited spit-roasted meat from a Brazilian Churrascaria barbecue, carved at your table.
PretoGosh, where do I even begin..Preto in Shaftesbury has been my favorite restaurant in london for at least the past 6 years, was working close to Victoria so thought brilliant, can’t go wrong with Preto, but boy was I wrong.First, we ordered a Pinacolada each and the red flags started instantly, the pineapple slices used as garnish was stale and mouldy (took pictures of thisbut thought ah well, was probably just a one off mistake.Ordered the sweet potato and fried polenta as a side, had to send it back twice as they were both ice cold but still after the 3rd time and a very long wait might I add, they were still very cold and fried polenta just tasted old and stale. The pork and black bean stew we ordered stank so badly, could instantly tell that it was an old batch and couldn’t even dare taste it unfortunately same with the Tropeiro, gosh it smelled like death, genuinely the only side we could enjoy and was actually warm upon arrival was the cheese dough balls only annoying thing was that even though the whole restaurant had 4 other tables including ours, took about 20-30 mins to get sides. The meat itself was utterly disappointing, extremely dry and over cooked in some cases but the worst was that since our table was always the last to be served, we were always left with cold, last bit of scraps not to mention it always took a long time to get the next meat out so we literally just had to make do with eating dough balls (when they eventually arrivednot to mention had sides not arrive at all twice. Was just beyond disappointing from beginning to end and will definitely never go back to the Victoria brunch again as we pretty much spent £80 for a few dough balls as everything else was cold, bland and pretty bad generally.
Food is amazing . You can get up and choose all you may desire on the buffet but the drink prices are high and they charge double service charge when you go to the 2 for 1 on a Wednesday. Our bill was nearly 1/3 service charge. Yaks but the staff are super friendly
I always enjoy the food from Preto in Putney but I decided to visit Victoria as it was closer however the taste of the side dishes was not the same, the beans, bananas and rices were not really flavoured although the meats were delicious. We went for the grill buffet, We were sat at the back next to the entrance, the guys serving the meats passed frequently for the first 20 minutes in our area afterwards they forgot we existed so we didnt have the amount of cuts we were expecting, we asked for side dishes but only the first service came fast all the rest came after 30 to 40 minutes or didnt come at all. Its the first time we felt disappointed, we gave 4 stars because we know how good they can be.
We keep coming baxk to dine here because we know staff are friendly and grilled meats are good. Unfortunately today is not at its best. No one at the door with only 1 table occupied inside. We declined most of the roasted meats that were offered because they are dry and looks like left over from day before. The grilled meat selection is also limited. I suggest to avoid if you don’t see diners inside as meats will not be as freshly grilled compare to having lots of diners where there will be more meat selections to serve.
The food was very average and service poor. I asked 4 different members of staff for sauce and a side and we never received it. I then asked 2 staff for the bill, in the end we got up to pay at the till. I would understand if they were busy but we literally saw waitresses playing with each other’s hair in the doorway of the kitchen & saw one waitress hit another waiters backside… - 1they should be busy serving customers and 2not very hygienic in a restaurant. Sorry but definitely need to manage the staff better ..
As other Brazilian all you can eat bbq comes to your table. We got a sangaria pitcher the quality was not that good. Side orders were a bit not clear.
Meat was good, especially the picaña. However, the staff stopped serving us after a few rounds and picaña was nowhere to be seen.Expect to be short-changed! We were blatantly ignored while others got served. Having been to other Rodizios, I can say this was irregular
Food is average, nothing special like I was expecting to get from a Brazilian place. The service was awful! It was the very first time in my life that I had to request service charge to be removed from the bill.I asked for water right after I seated and it took them over 30m to bring it. Yes, I was eating and had some other drinks but water had to be requested 3 times. Same for some extra chimichurri and one of the servers told me "sorry I have already told kitchen and there is nothing else I can do". Worst answer Ive ever given.I think these people dont care about the service at all as when I requested service charge to be removed from the bill nobody asked me about my experience, what went wrong or anything at all.I dont recommend this place at all unless you are up for some average food and a bad service.
Lovely vibe, all of the staff were friendly and the food was really, really yummy. Served by Joanna who very helpfully gave us some recommendations of what to order! :)
Had several issue during my last visit. Truly disappointed from Preto brand !! Please check your email as we sent explaination, you still own us money for unfair extra charge !!
I was really looking forward to eat here, I left really disappointed. We had two cuts (chicken and porkafter that, despite having our card green, we were ignored. No chance of getting a second drink, couldn’t order mor e sides, couldn’t get more meat for an hour. We ordered the bill, that didn’t come either and all the workers when they were walking they would look away. The table in front of us had the same issue. When eventually we were able to get our bill, we got charged twice for the drinks (which was then corrected to the right price). Never in my life have I left a Rodizio feeling hungry (and I don’t much anyway). The quality was also very low.
The meat was really high quality and delicious, but several of our sides never arrived (despite ordering them twiceso my vegetarian friend only ended up eating a few pieces of bread and polenta but paying the £19. We also didnt receive one of our drinks, and on our final bill we were charged twice for it (which was amended). We also felt in general that our smaller table of 3 was overlooked in comparison to the bigger tables. Although the meat was great, overall we were unsatisfied with the general service so will not be returning
Poor, slow service, staff is not friendly. The order takes 30-40 to process, food is cold and not tasty. The portions of food are small, not satisfying, half of our order was forgotten by the members of staff. When we asked for fries and bread, we received cold food after 50 minutes of waiting.Dirty glasses.Overall very disappointing experience, our Sunday brunch was ruined. Will not recommend this place and will never come back.
Super good meat, friendly servers. Favorites have to be the pork and chicken. Ham was a little too salty for me, but still pretty good
poor service, small portions for family of 3, crowded and servers forgot our sides. our meats came before drinks and sides. usually ok but food quality has changed.
Took ages to get served drinks and the fact that they didnt bring us plates for 15 minutes was crazy.sitting outside seemed like we miss out alot waiters just walking passed us. Or just running out of food befor it came to us.The food was really nice but still expected more.
Went there for rodizio but the service was super slow. Yhe range was small. Our sides took too long to arrive. Apart from a person that took us to the table and another one serving the food everyone else looked bored and with not a lot of wiling to give you a smile or do a good service. In the end, when the bill came, they charged me service over the all amount even when I was paying half price as a promotion applied. I should have asked for the refund of the service and give that money in hand to the 2 people that were doing a good service.
Terrible food, except for a couple meat choices. No buffet, the salads/sides are brought upon request and they dont have half of their menu list. Basically, you think you are ordering, say, 10 sides to split for 2 people and end up with just 4 because they "ran out" of the rest. And thats only said after you bother waiter a couple times to bring what you ordered. Otherwise, they wouldnt care to notify you that you are not getting half of what you wanted.Yes, we arrived 1 hour before their closing, but its a common courtesy to notify guests that you dont have half of the stuff, but still be paying full fair! The food was mediocre at best. The cooked dishes were warmluke and fried side dish was completely cold and tasted very old(2-3 days old)Wouldnt go again if they paid meThe staff wasnt very pleasant and partially rude
Nice place to have a rodízio. The caipirinha was good and also the food. Pao de queijo, coxinha and feijoada was 2.5 (I dont recommend if you want to try good Brazilian foodbut the rest of the food was really good.
Lived 7 years in Brazil and this place brought me back to those restaurant i used to go with my friends. Very tasty and very real Brazilian flavors. Wont let you down.
A very lively Brazilian diner in a busy street. It has seating for over one hundred people, Inside and outside and also downstairs. Also private dining. Traditional Brazilian grill. Green card for more food, red card to say you are done. Has vegetarian menu and cocktails and wine.Good atmosphere and food. Decent prices for London.
Went tonight. We were sat right in the corner. It was very busy as it is 2 4 1 night. We had our ticket on the green side for an hour and a half and were ignored again and again. In the end we got fed up and left. Even with the 241 the price was £48. Wont be going again.
Best restaurant ever!!!The food is delicious and so are the drinks. The staff is also really nice and makes us feel at home:Oh and the desserts were also absolutely incredible!!! :)
My Daughter and I Went to Preto for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was Tip Top, Staff were friendly and very professional. I will be back soon, with friends.
Very good Brasilian food. Good service!
Visited on 13/07 a wednesday.Had a great time eating the buffet, was very worth it with the 2 for 1 discount! Would reccomend visiting on wednesdays during July as they have a 2 for 1 then.
Friendly staff. Quality of meat was lower than other churrascarias I’ve been to in the US and the food comes out a lot slower too (only one person was going around at 6pm on a Tuesday). Fried bananas were incredible. Cheese bread a little tough and dry. But, for the price, it’s an overall decent value! Drinks were alright too.
Lovely food, lovely staff, nice vibeAll the meat you can eat if you can.
Great selection of meat for the BBQ meal, its a steal. The buffet for the sides was a nice touch and Im sad to see it removed.Fun experience for all, Brazilian BBQ is fun! And the pretadores are friendly.
Best preto Ive been to!So far tried 3 other preto locations, and this one was by far the best in terms of food quality. The different meats were each seasoned or marinated in a distinctive way and you could easily tell each one apart (cant say the same for other Pretos)Overall things were just right: well marinated and seasoned, cooked perfectly (not too rare and definitely not overcooked), and all the sides were well prepared(Went to Queensway, Soho, and Putney ones)The place gets absolutely packed especially on 2 for 1 Wednesdays, so make sure to book in advance!Overall definitely recommend this Preto over the others based on this experience
Though it took a while for someone to take my order initially, once I got my plate for the barbecue oh boy it was non-stop! I constantly had very friendly servers bringing me every conceivable meat from roast chicken to steak. I think the selling point of this restaurant is the dining experience and the variety. The quality of the meats were just ok - nothing to write home about. For the price it’s pretty good - especially if you go for lunch. Probably a great place to go with friends or coworkers.
Delicious foodUnlimited meat so much FlavourSides super tastyHighly recommended
We went out looking for a restaurant to eat at after a long day fighting crowds during the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebration. We settled in this place since I like Brazilian Barbecue. This is a very nice Brazilian Barbecue restaurant. The food is very good here. If youve never had Brazilian Barbecue before, it is, essentially, a buffet. However, instead of getting the food yourself, the food comes to you. Unlike other Brazilian Barbecue places Ive been to in the past, this one doesnt have a buffet table for the sides. Instead, you order the sides and they bring them to you "tapas" style, as they said. It reminds me of Korean Barbecue where you order everything and keep reordering as needed. The waiters are very friendly and helpful when answering questions about the food they are bringing to the table. We tried all sorts of meat. Beef, chicken, pork and camel! Okay, only I tried the camel. It was salty. Not sure what it is supposed to taste like. We also ordered ice cream ahead of time for our 5 year old daughter. It was the only thing she wanted after the long day she had. Additionally, even with the ice cream (she couldnt finish it, it was a big portion), she ate some of the meat they brought over. Overall, a great place to eat.
Great place to eat lots of meat. The steaks were very tender as was the chicken and gammon. Been there five years now. The staff are very helpful. Vivi served us this time. Nothing was too much trouble.
Couldn’t of asked for a better meal! The staff were super friendly. If your lost and don’t know where to eat, stop looking because the food was fantastic and worth every penny. Sangria was also 😘😘😘
This place is incredible! The staff kept coming with a smile and were very friendly! For a restaurant which has essentially unlimited meat the quality is incredible and flavour is fantastic! The staff gave us a free shot! Or two! VERY worth while a visit
What an experience. Booking was easy via the website. All of the food was extremely tasty and there was plenty of it. Being a big eater, the cost and volume of food was fantastic. The chef was great. He was polite and charismatic and I never felt there was any reservations on putting more food on the plate. There was also no pressure for the table back which was nice. My partner had one of cocktails, again this was extremely large and well worth the money. Overall, this was a great dining experience that did not disappoint. We will be returning.
It was my first time here , visited with my boyfriend and his mom (not first time for them).. for me was hard to judge because it was the first time , but when I saw them not eating at all that put me off .. meat was dry and bland, no taste at all , the sides were ok , service wasnt good enough.. we asked the lady that took our order if she speaks portuguese , she said NO and when turned around started to speak portuguese with someone .. not nice! Maybe Ill try a different one to see if its worth it because the one in Vitoria is not .
Amazing place!!! Was invited by a friend, will definitely be coming back! Came home feeling like my tummy would explode. The meat was to die for. A great atmosphere, a great night out!
MUCH IMPROVED - VERY GOOD RESTAURANTI decided to give preto a second chance after a bad experience 2 years ago and I was very pleasantly suprised. The ordering system is different so you can order any sides from the menu and then they bring the meats round. The sides are all pretty decent and tasty, but the fried banana is especially delicious. The servers brought meat round regularly, but did start with cheaper less nice things and then finish with the steaks. The rare steak meat is the best, and if you dont like it rare there are well done pieces on the skewer. The chicken is ok, bit dry. The plain beef skewer was not amazing, the pork rib one is mostly fat. The chorizo sausages are quite nice. The steaks are definitely the best bit and i would say that getting the good meats and lots of sides does make it reasonable value for money for £25 per person. Would reccomend. Took of one star for service which wasnt very organised and a bit slow.
The food was good, not all the meats where tender, they started with the lowest quality meats and at the end they gave us the good ones. The service was super slow, we started with the meat before the appetizer and many items weren’t delivered to our table. But overall was affordable
Me and my wife visited London for a few days. On our first evening we planned preto Victoria. Absolutely no regrets!!The staff, the location and the food was spot on.We have been to many Brazilian restaurants across the UK and this is one of our favourites. The staff were very attentive and the meats was consistent. Generally in a Brazilian you would help yourself to the buffet however, due to covid they had a menu for you to pick from. This was great too, no worries about cross contamination with other dinners and most importantly fresh from the get go.We were served by an English guy. He was great (nothing was too much! The manager was lovely and was always walking around making sure everyone was happy. The guys bringing the meats around were always smiling and made sure we had enough on our plate. All in all, we cannot wait to visit again. We are aware there is a few pretos but we will likely only visit this one again.Thank you everyone at preto Victoria, you guys are a lovely welcoming bunch.
The food here was EXCELLENT. If youre a meat lover then you simply need to pay this place a visit. Id give it 5 stars but it was a little crammed. But, man, was the food GOOD?!
If you havent tried an original and most-loved Brazilian barbeque, here is the place to try it. Very authentic and tasty Brazilian food and barbeque for a good and fair price. You can take the "all-you-eat" + buffet and drink some Brazilian guaraná! Thank me later :)
Decent experience at Preto for the 19 GBPchurrasco all you can eat. There is a dedicated salad bar (with some more meals like pasta). The meat servers bring meat to your table. The beef and pork are quite delicious. The chicken was rather boring.Definitely worth a visit, however I would expect the kitchen to invest a bit more passion in their cooking.
Very friendly staff and we were served quickly. It’s a nice mixture of buffet and getting the meat served to your table. The salad buffet was not very overwhelming, didn’t seem too fresh and I was missing a variety of sauces that you’d expect with meat. Talking about meat, I was impressed by the many choices and the taste was ok to good. I’m not sure about the quality, especially when it comes to the chicken, I’m usually very picky about the taste and quality and I didn’t like it too much tbh. Since the price was very reasonable for the amount of food (ca. 20£/PP excl. drinksand I liked the good service and atmosphere, I’m going for 4 stars. But the food itself would be more of a 3/5 I’d say.
Great food and the servers were really friendly. They served 15 different types of meat which we really enjoyed and it’s all you can eat! We were thoroughly impressed with the meat selection but the salad bar was less than impressive. Some of the salads were just cut vegetables and could’ve been done a bit better. So if you’re vegetarian I wouldn’t recommend this place but for meat lovers- this is a paradise!
It was great the food is just what you can expect at a 5 star churasqueria the place is not fancy but it has a good feeling and beto the churrasquero was really nice and fast on his meat runs
Me and ny partner were lucky enough to catch a great Season Special (£10.95 for All You Can Eat [Salad and Meat]). Was very pleased, all food was delicious and never ending if it was local to me (Manchesterwould be there alot more often. My partner and I were lucky enough to stumble across this place near the coach station so gave us more time to eat and relax before our travel. Highly Recommended would happily pay Full price. Friendly Staff, Delightful Service, Delicious food. (I recommend the Pork Loin, Garlif Beef,Lemon Chicken and the Sausages (spicy)
We came here for the buffet and we absolutely loved it. It was really sunny so we sat in the outdoor area. The indoor area looked nice and the main part of the buffet was good. There was a good selection of a variety of rice and potatoes. There were sauces and salads and vegetables too.We opted for the meat addition. The prices were reasonably good. The meat wasnt put out with the rest of the buffet but brought around by the waiters. It was fresh and crisp and perfect. There was a variety of meat. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and polite. All in all a fantastic experience. Would definitely go again - Soon, I hope!
