Expansive park offers a cultural museum & historical sites, plus trails, city views & picnic space.
Beautiful Park. Super quiet but still hear the freeway in background.
Pack a picnic and head up to The Arbor for a lovely day in the meadow on the hill. The view is terrific! Terrific wedding venue location also.
Good for bird watching, easy access from old town. Restrooms. It rained heavily got soaking wet not the park fault so pick a sunny day 😎
I grew up in Mission Hills and was a frequent visitor as a youth. The canyon down the hill from the Serra Museum is and was relatively seldom visited, and is an epic location for outdoor fun and birthday parties for kids. We had many growing up, and it is an epic destination for capture the flag games, with natural territories on either side of the canyon!Still kind of off the beaten track. These days, I like taking a lunch break at the picnic tables and shaded parking area under the big pine trees down the slight hill from the gazebo at the end of Presidio Drive.Sometimes, if I have time to kill, Ill just park there and take a nap.
Very nice city park offering great views of California scenery and city of San Diego.
Nice little hill top park, cool views and historical statues.
It was absolutely beautiful 😍
The highlight is the church nested above the park with a tremendous amount of historical facts about the history dating back to the 1500s.
Beautiful large multi level park with monuments, museum, flag poles, Arbor area. Lots to see and do. Spent time at the top to pray meditate and enjoy the relaxing shade under the Arbor and trees. One homeless person sleeping by the monument, use caution ⚠️ if alone.
I wish this place included its historical information about all the Indigenous lives that were lost and affected for generations due to the unwarranted colonization of European white settlers from Spain and later Utah Mormons. In my opinion we should not celebrate their victory over Indians that were there for thousands of years
This is a great location for pictures, if you are looking for a nice spot but not as crowded as Balboa Park; this park is the perfect option. There are some green areas around and the Junipero Serra Museum which provides great backgrounds for your pictures.
Great little park with beautiful surroundings and youre still allowed to drink alcohol there! Theres some historical statues and close to the Old Mission which is nice to walk around as well
Nice park, next to Old town and the freeway!
Beautiful park thats quiet for the most part. Its clean and a great place to hang a hammock and doodle or just nap
Beautiful location and great views!
This is one of my favorite parks. There are actually 3 parks that are connected by hiking trails or you can drive over to the other parking lots. Usually not very crowded except for the occasional event, i.e. wedding, AA meeting or Zumba or Yoga class...🤷♂️
One of the best parks in San Diego and thankfully one of the calmest. People who know the area come to enjoy their lunch break in the shade of the trees while listening to the birds and the wind.
Lots of homeless here. They have left a lot of trash.
Great place to relax and get in touch with nature good hiking spot plenty of history to be found here as ok ld town was where history was made. Also after a good hike there are plenty of good restaurants right around the corner with delicious food and drinks to enjoy.
This is such a peaceful place its so beautiful downside is nobodys moderating the homeless and the park is dirty full of trash and human feces its a shame but its still beautiful wonderful views from up here too
Really great park to take a puppy to.The view is great and there is so much history which has been preserved really well!
Great place for photography sessions for wedding photos and other professional photo shoots.
Great view of downtown San Diego. Right at Old Town. Extensive, well maintained park. Parking is limited.
Took the kids to have a picnic. We ended out leisurely walking several of the trails and viewing some of the historic items. Was easy to get to and several areas for parking spread amongst the park. Mostly shaded and paths designed to lead you around.
Beautiful park with some interesting views. It is just crazy to see and hear all the traffic bellow the park though.
I only removed a Star because so many statues and other historical & art pieces have been removed. Be aware only 1 restroom in center of 34 acres, near start of trails into Palm Canyon, off One-way "circle" road. Some amazing view place, many off beaten path.
Beautiful place on a rainy day in San Diego. Plenty of parking and history.
Attended a wedding here. Beautiful setting for a wedding. Steps up from the parking area can be a little daunting. Also, no guardrails on the open tile area is a little scary. Really surprised they dont have them. Bathrooms are old and small. Beautiful chapel. Beautiful sunset views.
I love this park. It’s not too crowded and has beautiful trees and open space. The view is really nice too
Presidio Park is beautiful and clean. The best part about it is the view all over San Diego and the Bay
A beautiful place, with a lot of history. The views across the city are beautiful! -Regina
Spent my 7 year anniversary at this beautiful park! So gorgeous and had a blast! Will definitely be coming back soongabrielconover.com
Love this park! You are at a walking distance from old town and you have a wonderful view of the bay. A nice hiking trail in the canyon and dont forget the mission. Parking is a bit limited but not too bad.
Great place for family or wedding pictures, beautiful scenery and trails.
Peaceful park in the middle of the city. Great for a picnic.
Beautiful views and a nice hike. The museum is closed during the stay-at-home order, but there are public restrooms available. We parked off Taylor St. and hiked in.
This park is amazing. It is a historical site with a museum. However, be aware that there are a lot of homeless people. If you are worried about safety because you have kids or you care otherwise, you will have an unpleasant feeling which you will fight hard to ignore , but is that even a good thing?I wish they had a place to go. We pay such high taxes and can’t even go to the local parks in peace. There are very few homeless shelters around.
Very beautiful park, good place to take family pictures or to see sights of San Diego. Good spot to have a family picnic. Really enjoy coming here
I havent walked here in over 20 years. WHY? I really cant tell you! But i will be back soon. GORGEOUS. The views were INCREDIBLE!. There are some slight hills or you can just do flat.I got lost, LOL.. ( easy for me.. I have little to no spatial awareness!but the freeway was a great landmark and led me back to the parking lot I was parked in.
Bathroom are horrible!! Dont take my word for it. See pics. All 4 bathroom. The other pic is the exterior of building. Looks like a good place to use the restrooms.
Alcohol is allowed in this park, but glass is not, so plan accordingly. Bring cans of your favorite local craft beer to enjoy, but leave the hard seltzer at home: that stuff is garbage and not worth putting in your mouth, let alone bringing to a park.Saw an owl here the last time I visited Presidio, so that was cool. You probably wont be so lucky, but you cant win if you dont play, so might as well take a chance.
Beautiful and peaceful. Not crowded at all. Nice little trails.
Damn fine place to go when needing a safe place, thats a park, for a bit of respite and watch the sun set behind point loma.
What a beautiful place to visit! A beautiful and wide open park with plenty of tables and chairs and parking. Its a great place for a picnic and people watching. Surrounding the park are shops and places for food and drinks, salons, ATMs, and even the Cosmopolitan hotel, which is a great Western themed place. The best part that I experienced was after dark, around 11p, all kinds of bunnies come out and wander around! Ill bring lettuce next visit!
We walked here at sunset and were treated to some amazing views and history of San Diego.
Beautiful views, lovely trails, smells of blooming flowers and nice place to picnic with the kids
Presidio Park is the prefect place for a romantic walk, or a day with your 4 legged bestie, leashed, of course. Its so pretty in spring and has a 2.1 mile trail thats great for all skill levels. And, dont forget, its free parking, and the busy hours are between 11am-3pm.
One of the best views and most historical places in San Diego. Lay on a blanket and soak it in. We usually walk around after a big meal in Old Town. Plenty of shady trees too.
Park of historical significance. Beautiful place. The primary building looks like the Presidio and looks like it is old, but it is only 95 years old, not 300 years old. Its not the Presidio, but it has great views and offers a historic site. Great museum about a person fundamental to the European settlement of California.
Nice museum. It detailed the archaeological work that has been done on the site. As well as contained artifacts from the Spanish frontier and the Kumeyaay people.Tip: dont forget to climb all the way to the top for a view of the landscape and compare it to what it looked like in 1929!Beautiful location to spend an afternoon.
