Pozangmatcha - Korean restaurant in Dusseldorf, Germany
Great Korean food, especially the chicken.
we didn’t need any reservation although the restaurant was super packed. luckily we managed to get a seat right away. the kimchi jigae and dakgalbi were delicious. the restaurant has pub/ bar vibes. We really enjoyed our time there. 😋
The food is amazing, unfortunately the staff is rude. Why is she doing the job when she hates it.
The chicken was very tasty. But the place was really crowded and the staff could have been a little friendlier. They did not warn us about the portion sizes.
Good food, reasonable price but have to wait a bit long for the food
Instead of saying it’s a restaurant, I would rather consider it’s a bar. It’s small and with some bar style graffiti on the wall. It seems popular. I grabbed a bar stool without a reservation. The food came out quick, fresh and delicious. The beef I ordered was tender. It’s a bit pricey for its portion though.
A very surprising restaurant, from outside looks like a German metal bar XD inside very cool set up and super tasty Korean food with some fusion touch. Just go :(better to book since it is small)
Great Korean food but service is lacking in quality. We had a limited 1,5 hours time window to eat as someone has booked the table after that. The waiter forgot our last order and upon reminding him the food arrived 3 mins before the time we were to free the table. The waitor practically threw us out amid eating, started taking the food away and wiping the table. This is not the way to treat customers. Considering it was initially a mistake on their part, I would expect a little bit more understanding and a more customer-oriented attitude.Update on 15.07.2022: The staff has changed since our last visit and thr service today was impeccable! Adding one more star 😊
Best fried chicken in town!! Ver nice waiters and charming vibes inside
Were traveling from Korea and wanted to see what Düsseldorf had to offer.First, we didnt know we needed a reservation (fair enough). There were a few tables open, but one of the servers sat us at the bar (again, fair enough... had no reservation).Shortly after we were sat at the bar, another server made a hand gesture that we couldnt stay. It was a bit awkward but we grabbed our things and just left. Itd been nice to not have been treated like a stray animal that just happened to walk in. We speak English, Korean, and German...Id not bother putting a review but the level of disrespect deserves it. Thats not how you treat customers... Makes your bar and city look bad.If you want extremely overpriced Korean pub food and horrible service, then give it a try.
Great service, great drinks and good food 😍 If you visit this place, check out their Korean pancakes very tastyyyy , til next time!
Small, authentic and cost Korean bar which serves some great food. Especially the chicken wings are recommendable. Order some Soju (liquorand beer to experience the real Korean vibes. Definitely worth to swing by this place once you are in Düsseldorf.
Such a typical Korean pub that offers very original Korean food, this means you have to be prepared for bloody spicy food.Korean fried chicken is relatively popular.Pricing is not too bad but Korean brand alcohols are bit expensive than German beer.
Its pricy for one person alone but if you go as a couple or in a group its perfect as the portions are big and its delicious. I can recommend the fried chicken.
Fantastic Korean bar and good authentic food.. Big portion sizes!
It’s worth a visit. The service is very nice and very responsive. The food was pretty good. In my opinion, they have the best chicken wings I know. However, it is best to reserve a place in advance, because it is quite crowded.
We stopped here for some drinks while waiting for our reservation at a nearby restaurant. The food looked pretty awesome, and they make a mean Gin and Tonic. All the workers had a great attitude and it was a fun experience
A very small pub with Korean food. Options are limited but this is totally fine. We saw the recommendation the fried chicken is a must have and we did order one with creamy sauce. It tasted great even though I am never a fan of fried chicken. There is no soup pot in the menu which was a disappointment in our agenda. Waitress were super busy especially it was a Friday night. We waited for thirty minutes for our Rechnung coming. It is a quite unpleasant end for the dish. Btw, there is no room to hang the coat in the restaurant which is quite inconvenient in cold weather.
Great student bar atmosphere minus the chaos of a dive bar! Food is excellent (expect Düsseldorf cafe/restaurant priceand the Pomegranate Soju I had was fitting to the ambience. My orders were served in good timing (approx. 10 mins?Because of the size of this place, I wouldn’t go in groups larger than 4pax.
Nice Korean place in a pub like environment. The portions are huge.
We had spontaneously stopped at 포장 마차 last night. I would like to praise the kitchen in advance. The food was excellent and highly recommended, especially the wings, pancakes and grill dishes. If you plan to visit Pozangmatcha at some point then you should try these dishes. The service staff who served us yesterday were very friendly and courteous. We felt right at home and in good hands. We were recommended delicious dishes which we will try in the near future. We were last in Pozangmatcha before COVID-19 because we are rarely in Düsseldorf due to the move to Munich. The long way was worth it. Keep it up. 👍🏼
I think they have the best kimchi pancakes in ddorf. And best fried chicken too. Oh and the pa dak and tofu kimchi. Just basically everything imve ever ordered was amazing. This is a really really delicious korean restaurant/ bar. Im so happy i can come here when i’m craving good korean food. Friends also love it - perfect every single time!!!!
Service was ok, there’s room for improvement but nothing to complain about. It’s a small old bar so you better to reserve in advanced. However, their food was worth to come back again. Portion is huge, especially their fried chicken. You can even share between 3 people. We ordered 3 dishes to share between 2 of us but then we had to take away half of the food home. We were all so full after that. I will definitely come back again.
Korean drinking style pub. Small. Floor is sticky n not clean. They do not cope with covids regulations in which tables were too closed to each other. We were sitting like just 20cm away from other tables/ guests. Authentic korean food style. Portion is big so one dish is enough for two person. Fried chicken was nice. Cheese ribs were only ok
The service was not as good as other Korean restaurants. The fried chicken was just okay. Furthermore they disregarded social distancing by putting other customers right next to us.
One of my must do’s when in Düsseldorf. Very good authentic Korean food and Soju. Nice vegetarian options and lovely crowd of people.
Really tasty and price reasonable
Awesome little gem with amazing Korean food and a nice atmosphere.
Small restaurant that fills up pretty quickly but great atmosphere and delicious korean food!If you cant finish it you can event ask for a doggybag! Loved it!
My favorite Asian restaurant in Düsseldorf is this Korean one. Located in an old brewery, which was well exploited to make the new “deco”, this restaurant has a “bar style”. I’m still falling in love with different dishes there, but I already recommend their Korean pancake as a starter and their ice for dessert. But don’t forget that the ice is quite big! So it’s preferable to share with a friend if you’re not too gourmand. Other interesting thing are their teas, my favorite is the ginger one. All that without forgetting that their staff was always lovely with me and the friends I brought there. That’s why I’m still coming ☺️
If you dont like tofu, give their Dubuyache a try! Its the best tofu I ever had, crunchy and flavourful on the outside with a soft and moist centre.Very delicious vegetarian dish that doesnt contain egg or milk so should be vegan friendly :)
Best tofu Ive ever had, hands down. The (vegan! 🌿dubuyache is must-have, so good. Atmosphere is great, good drinks too.
Awesome place and good korean food for the price. There isnt much choice here for vegetarians but there are some. You can get Korean drinks like beer or soju here as well. The location is nice; the decorations is not Korean but based on some old German bar or something (which makes this place quite unique compared to other restaurants). The service was good and helpful.
Incredible, delicious Korean food. Id definitely recommend going there to experience it yourself. Its a little cold inside, though, so make sure to wear a warm sweater if you are going there during winter months lmao
They clearly did not speak English that well or spell in alphabets. We made a reservation and they said they did not have space for us. After a lot of frustration, they sat us down. Service was a hassle, but food smells and tastes great though.
Great food and nice service. You can find there also Alt beer if needed :-)Place is open longer then other bars around.Local is small but well designed, each guest have enough space.
My all time favourite Korean resto. The seafood pancake and Dwaejibulgogi are the BEST! Hands down! The place is not big thus you gotta be lucky to have a seat or make reservations. Besides that, all is great! Fast and friendly workers. Always leave this place happy!
The place is great for spending time with a close friend and enjoy tasty authentic Korean food! Its really small, with some bar seats, very small tables. In the evening, the lighting is very dim, so cannot take good food photos. Service is very nice. Food is not expensive, the chicken plate is a real surprise as it is SO BIG! Would recommend and go there again ^^
Authentic and really tasty. Try their anju selections, everything is good and better with soju or rice wine. Highly recommend the stir fried pork rind! Tender and juicy and comes with DIY rice balls.Toilet is a bit small though, so don’t come wearing jumpsuit lol
Recommended by the Baedeker, we came across the place while having a long weekend in Dusseldorf. The place is relatively small and not too fancy when it comes to the interior, but it has a message wall that any guest can use to make a mark of their presence. Usually crowded, we went for the bibimbap and the Korean pancakes. The food was good but nothing too interesting if youve been to a Korean place before. Service is nice but hard to judge as we were sitting at the bar, you can have Korean soda, if thats what youre into.
Located in an old pub, this Korean restaurant is quite unique! Its like you are in a bar and they are serving Korean food! And they are open until very late in the night!Food was really good! Especially the fried chicken with soja sauce, which serving was quite huge! Quick and friendly service too. You might want to book a table before going there.
I dont remember to be so badly treated . After so many years traveling around the world and visiting so many places, I could not imagine that a such high reputation restaurant could treat their customers as they do. Apart of the food quality which is rather good, altough the short value for money you get, the worst is really the two guys who are there serving. Ive just wanted to pay a small amount with the bank card and theyve refused so strongly and in a such unpolite way that Ive felt completely disappointed and unrespected . To make the things worst, all my clothes got a disgusting smell of food from there that I cant use them anymore. I dont recommend at all this place. If you look for a Korean restaurant there is other option much better near by.
Nice place with amazing food. When I first got there I thought it had more of a bar vibe to it but you really need to try the food there. They dont only serve stuff like tteokbokki there but also much more interesting stuff. I think its a little bit more authentic than other korean restaurants, even though it doesnt look like it on first glance.
Great mango and pomegranate cocktails, as well as great dumplings and the best is the soy-sauce glazed chicken. Popular place so try to reserve in advance.
Great place to sit at the bar, have a drink with authentic Korean food, and talk with your neighbors.
Hip Korean bar/restaurant with great food and a small selection of Korean alcoholic drinks.
Small yet cozy Korean restaurant & bar. A good selection of real Korean food and drinks. Although limited, all the vegetarian options are absolutely delicious. Highly recommend their vegetarian tofu dish, which will even turn tofu haters to lovers. Needless to say their non vegetarian options are delicious too. Its a great place to come if you are looking to get food and drinks.
Unlike some people say, its a throughout 100% authentic Korean (soju-bar both in style and the offered menu. Also probably the most authentic food not only in town but in the whole D & K area. Most of the others are also pretty ok but the flavors are westernized (which is for their business model totally finewhere more interested people go, but this places menu consists of foods Korean people in Korea actually eat in their everyday lives, and is therefore visited by actual Koreans. I think that proves the authenticity. Believe me.
Its a small and crowded place, although nicely decorated. We had to sit on some uncomfortable high chairs and we ate against the wall on a small counter (two people), which didnt make us enjoy the meal so much. The food was OK and they served it quite quickly (taking into account how busy they were), but the quality was just regular, we expected more due to the fame the place has and the price (its not cheap).
I visited Pozangmacha together with my girlfriend and another friend. We reserved for 3 people and arrived 20 minutes late. Our reservation was gone and thats fair enough, even though Im not used to that. After entering the cute looking restaurant we were greeted by two staff members who looked very surprised to see guests and quite frankly a bit overwhelmed. So overwhelmed in fact that they didnt even greet us and just placed us at the counter in the middle of the restaurant with an option to get a table later. We went with the that, since the Pozangmacha is supposedly a very good Korean place and ordered some drinks and food. We got the drinks quite quickly, but had to wait for our food for almost thirty minutes while the customers that came after us started digging into their meals before us. During that time I was bumped into a lot, not by the guests surprisingly but by the waitresses. After a while a table was free and the two unmotivated staff members promptly placed a group of other guests there, that came a long time after us to the restaurant. We complained to the staff and they removed the other guests from the table again so we could sit there. I feel quite bad for the other guests as this is a situation that could have been avoided very easily.Food and drinks in the Pozangmacha arent exactly cheap (bottle of Chamisul Soju is 9 € for example , so we expected a lot. We ordered fried chicken and gol bang i so myeon. The dish with snails was okay, albeit very boring and bland tasting. The real catastrophe was the chicken though. I have never ever in my life whether it be in Korea, the UK or Germany eaten such greasy, disgusting and chewy fried chicken. I really hate saying this but Id prefer a bucket of KFC for a third of the price any day over this. The makgeollli was nice though, so we spent the evening drinking that. The waitresses forgot to bring us our last batch so we decided to wrap it up and pay. To sum the evening up we found the forgotten makgeollli on our bill. All in all the evening was very chaotic paired with the worst food I have eaten in a long time and staff so unmotivated and impolite it makes the German service almost look really good.I do not recommend this place at all. In fact, I recommend to stay away from it and try another place in Düsseldorf! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
