Poushe - Cafe in Zürich (Kreis 3), Switzerland
Poushe in Zürich (Kreis 3)
Description
Thank for amazing servis. The waitress was very friendly and kind. Nice place and good strudel. Thanks!
MoreWe stayed at an Air BnB nearby. We found this place ad wr were walking back from the streetcar stop. We wanted to get something sweet and have a coffee. The6bare known for their strudel. The pastry was excellent. The place is small but with tables to sit. It gave me the feeling if a neighborhood hangout. Staff was courteous and the place was not to loud. It wasnt bustling like the cafes and bistros in the city. We felt at home immediately. Prices were moderate. A little cheaper than in the city. I would go there again because the desserts were very good. Just what we were looking for.
MoreYou know Zurich (in fact Switzerlandis expensive so for a handmade good looking Apple strudel that comes in other flavors, ingredients from local farms, supporting the local neighborhood, this is worth the price. It’s nice, small and the staff are friendly, helping me pick a favorite. Made my morning!
MoreCame once for sweet dessert + coffee and once for savory lunch (see picture). Both times very much impressed with the quality of the food. Lots of vegan options too! Will be back!
MoreIts one of my sons favorite place for Apfelstrudel.
🖤
best place in the city and the best service!!We loved it and visited it every day!
MoreFriendly but quite overpriced. Oh well, worth it.
Worst customer service ever! Never going back there. The staff was very unfriendly and made us wanted to leave the place immediately with constant nagging. Not professional at all.
MoreBest apple strudel I’ve had so far!
The strudels were excellent, the coffee as good as it gets. Interesting Swiss cola. Super pricey though, even for Zurich.
MoreNice and cozy place to enjoy the city street view. Enjoyed coffee and worked there a bit. Staff are friendly and would visit again. #kvr
MoreGood quality, but too expensive. I paid 4CHF extra for the vanilla cream. In other places that is free of charge. In total I paid 25CHF for 1 standard strudel and 2 coffee.EDIT: I was expecting to be at least informed about the extra charge for the vanilla. It was not clear at all.
MoreBest Strudel in the world! Nice and cozy. See you again, soon :)
Conclusion: indeed overpriced. (11.5chf)Bought in Globus, picked apple caramelDonno if in the cafe shop they will heat up for you but eating it cold was not so pleasant.Filling is relatively generous but tasted quite basic, did not sense the caramel part in the fillings.I don’t like overly sweet desserts but this one was lacking some sweetness, the filling tasted too “natural”.It was just okay, not worth the price.Even by Zurich standard you can find more satisfying dessert/pastry.Won’t go back for sure and would not recommend
MoreSummary: made us pay for food with hair in itGot a slice of chocolate cake (7 CHF), paid upfront. After a few bites, we noticed there was a long hair in it.We returned the cake and they took it back.Later one member of the staff came to our table and offered us a small sweet snack (worth 4 CHFand said they were sorry. When we left, we asked for a refund for the 7 CHF cake. They refused to give us a refund, saying that they had already given us that apology snack for free (which again, was worth only 4 CHF).We told them this didnt seem fair. We essentially paid 7 CHF for a 4 CHF cake, plus we had the bad experience of finding a hair in our food. They kept repeating that they couldnt do refunds, because the system doesnt support refunds and that they fixed the problem by offering us that free snack. We told them that this was a sure way to lose customers, making them pay for bad food that they didnt eat. Still, they wouldnt budge.Oh, and in the end, they didnt even throw away the cake from which our slice was cut. They kept it on the shelf, to sell more of it to other customers.
MoreReasonable place to get some strudel for dessert or takeaway. For dine in I wish theyd heat it up a little and serve with cream automatically.
MoreStopped here for a strudel and cappuccino during a bike ride. Both were delicious. The place is nice and cozy, and the strudels are well done.
MoreI bought two strudels at the stand in front of the globus. There the lady didn’t even bother to say hi or to help me out, she didn’t even say thank you or bye! And on top of that my strudels had apple stems in them. Now I don’t find that horrible but for the price this type of thing shouldn’t happen. I messaged them through Instagram just to let them know that this happened to me, I was respectful and didn’t ask for anything. But they in return were rude and condescending, they even told me that I was lucky because apple stems are healthy! The taste of the strudels is just plain nothing special and not worth the price to me.
MoreVegan options! Heavenly pastries and coffee. Super friendly staff. Great outdoor seating. One of the best in Zurich!
MoreI generally liked the Poushe Strudels (tried one with apple and caramel and another one with berries). I would love the dough-flakes to be a tiny bit less firm. The filling was a little too sweet for my taste. However apart from that, both strudels were quite tasty and I guess they would be even better if consumed warm in the café and not on the go. I think the Strudelhouse is worth a visit.
MoreCute café with very good food. Mixed Berry Strudel was my favorite. The service was outstanding, the young spanish waitress was very charming and helpful. Looking forward to my next visit!
MoreWhat a dreamy Cappuccino. Cannot stop thinking about it. Perfectly roasted coffee with milk fresh from the farm. And the food!! Definitely a fan.
MoreExtremely over priced garbage. I bought several strudels with unpealed apples and seeds. Very little stuffing inside the studels. Embarassing to offer family or friends.Stingy Poushe. Never Again!
MoreI enjoyed the Poppy Seed Strudel a lot! Having grown up in a hospitality business where all pastries are homemade, I understand the work that goes into making pastries, however despite this I do not think that a price of 11 CHF is justified for such a pastry. I would definitely re-purchase is it was more affordable
MoreThis review is solely on the taste of the strudel. It looks super great but somehow not mine. The skin doesnt have any taste and the filling is lightly sweet. For me, theres no dimension of taste. If it would have more sourness, it might taste better. The apple filling was cut very fine, like chopped apple from thermomix. Id find the chunky more interesting and it would given the sticky feeling in the mouth.
MoreThey advertised a Wertgutschein-- that you could spend 50 francs however you wanted-- but it just turned out to be a deal where you could only spend the Gutschein on Strudel. Unacceptable
MoreA really nice cafe! They have almond, soy and oat milk! The flat white was great, and their poopy seeds cake is something you should try!
MoreGreat family vibe, with absolutely outstanding strudels. The coffee is also great, with nice seating inside and out.
MoreFinally in Zurich! Weve been stopping at the original store on the way to Türlersee every single time, the Strudel are amazing!!! And there are even gluten free or vegan options!
MoreThe best Strudel i have ever tasted. Also a super nice and classy looking place. A must go to for everyone, also vegans :D
MoreOK, now apart from the fact that the strudels are WOW (and I mean those are probably the best ones I have ever tastedbut there is also the great atmosphere of the place. You can feel that everything is prepared with care and final touchAll my friends loved it and loved the strudels 😍
MoreVery nice cafe! The strudels are just deliciuous and the variety of coffe and drinks are cery nice! They serve matcha latte, kardamon latte, etc. not so common in most cafes of the city.Just as a con, the place is a bit small, but normally it’s not very crowded, so you would easily find a table.A Hidden gem in the area!
MoreAs you can see in the pictures: my eyes were 100% focused on the food 😍Such a great quality (for a fair price).Instagram credit: @annecarole_w
MoreAwesome strudel place! Both sweet and non sweet variations. Some great tees available and coffee as well.
MoreWe tried their regular apple strudel and dark chocolate apple strudel at a food festival, at one of their stalls. They were both excellent! Looking forward to visiting their shop/café in the city.
MoreExcellent Strudel (sweet or salty), affordable lunch menu with varying side salads. Highly recommended!
MoreWow! Im so shocked by the bad reviews this cafe has gotten! for me its really like heaven. The strudels are delicious, the teas are from Mariages Freres, and coffee is also great. Honestly, if I had to find a negative point would be only the location, a bit far from everything, and not extremely charming terrase next to the bus stop. Otherwise the place is top!
MoreHeaven - a beautiful and delicious mixed berry strudel with vanilla creme (decadent! And a big, perfectly made cappuccino, all in a cute little cafe. Just lovely.
MoreReally nice ambiance. Strudels nice but a bit too sweet for me. Flat white is okay but on the foamy side. Matcha latte a bit bland.
MoreIt’s a very classy place! Love the atmosphere!Staff is very friendly and the strudels are all handmade and super fruity! They also have gluten-free savory and sweet strudels as well as superfood salads! i had strawberry strudel with vanilla cream and curcuma chai latte ❤️Totally recommend the place!
MoreStrudels look spectacular, but have a lot of pastry and few apples. Impolite service, we didnt feel welcomed.
MoreSuper tasty Strudels and lovely salad buffet. Portion sizes can be chosen and youll never have to leave hungry! Organic and regional products make this place a heaven for foodies!
MoreBest dessert that you need to eat after your dinner! Not super sweet, that is good! And love that they put chocolate sauce over the strudel.
MoreVery small place with delicious sweet and savoury strudels. Other snacks and drinks are also tasty. Good choice to go with a friend and take your time
MoreDelicious food, inexpensive prices! They serve a lovely Russian tea. The service was nice. Buffer options, so you can choose exactly what you want. Plenty of choice.
MoreGood self-service Strudel buffet, with buckwheat options to almost every sweet and savoury Strudel. Not a very cosy, neither stylish place, but ok. Staff was a bit hesitant to make us more scrambled eggs (group of 8 people), but eventually did.
MoreStrudel was tasty, but both it and salad were very oily. Service was nice. Id give it a 3.5* if there was something in the middle between *** and ****.
MoreThe place is way overpriced - you pay more than 20 CHF for an ok strudel and coffee. The staff is very rude - they didnt welcome us and played with their smartphones before even looking at us. The strudel is dry and nothing special. I was very disappointed.
MoreGreat, but not consistent. Had the best strudel ever and excellent service here on one occasion, and on another both were less impressive. Will definitely go back to gather more data, though!
