Beautiful statue which is located right in front of the Gothenburg Art Museum.

An incredible space, that has significance both historically and culturally in the city of Gothenburg. This is the place where most protests, which are an important feature of a healthy democracy, starts. The place is beautifully designed, cradled between culturally significant buildings, that looks at the roads that lead to the city center. This is a must visit, and photo-op place in Gothenburg should you choose to visit. My tip would be to walk this up from the city square while drinking in the sights of old architecture, while you pass the university buildings, modern restaurants, night clubs to truly experience the blend of the old, historical and the new and modern. The walkways are broad and nice to walk on. Once there, I would suggest you explore the surroundings and take in the atmosphere. A good time to visit would be in the evening, then you can see the sun setting on your left as you look towards the city square with Poseidon on your back and look at how life celebrates itself on the streets of Gothenburg.

Not much to see here other than the statue and street. I can say that the best time to visit is in late evening and if you prefer long walks this one is for you. Also there are cafes and restaurants along the road if you are craving for fika or good food.

Something you just have to see if you are in Gothenburg. A Landmark with (smallpride! Dont forget to check out the statue while standing on the steps on the right! ;)

Wow. This is perhaps the most interesting statue in the city. You havent really seen Gothenburg until you have seen his striking jaw line and many mer-men. Almost as exciting as the red stone!

The Poseidon statue is a landmark of Göteborg, a generic statue of above average size located at the end of Avenyn (the avenue), a place you must have visited if you ever found yourself in Göteborg.P.S. this review was written so that Google will stop bugging me about reviewing it every day on my way to work.

The Great Poseidon is the all-powerful ruler of the sea. As the legend goes, if you bathe in his crystal waters by the light of the first Summer moon - and smile at the first stranger on The Avenue whom you meet -good tidings will come to you. (This good fortune will make itself known to you before the time of the next New Moon.)

Its in middle of a busy street. As a tourist attraction, its touch and go. While the statue itself is beautiful, there is nothing other than clicking a few photographs that you can do there.
