Posada de Santiago in Solola

We happened upon this place unexpectedly and are so glad we did! The ambiance is beautiful (the dining hall is lovely, but you can also ask to sit by the lake- they have a fire going at night so don’t worry about getting cold). Food is fresh, seasonal and delicious. They even make their own artisanal bread. The service was so friendly and accommodating. We’ll be back this week with our friends!

I ate at the restaurant.The snow white is delicious!The pasta primavera was not the best, the shrimp tacos were dry and not great flavor the chips and guacamole were really good!

This Place!!!! The most magical on Atitlan with a blazing sauna, hot tub overlooking the lake, a pool lakeside, canoes & kayaks to use freely, & the best food found in Santiago (that also supports a womens cooperativa.Go.

This is no longer a hotel, but a collection of individually owned homes. We booked Casa Maya on AirBNB. Its a lovely little cottage with a nice front yard, seating, BBQ and hammock. The restaurant on site was good. There is a temezcal (sauna), pool, small jacuzzi, kayaks and bar across the street from the homes that are part of the Posada as well. The view of the lake is beautiful and very quiet. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Its a 10-15 minute walk to the Parque Central/Cathedral or a quick tuk tuk ride. The only downside is there really are no other restaurants or stores nearby.

Stayed here for a couple nights.The place has a private pool, jacuzzi and a yoga hut. Honestly, the food here is AMAZING!I had 2 breakfasts here. You must try jugo de piña and the pancakes!!! Super amazing.

El dueño anterior vendió el hotel a otras personas ahora no puedes usar el jacuzzi, piscina sin estar hospedado pero aún cuando no sea el mismo dueño dormir en las cabañas es una super experiencia.

Super wonderful place! Private cabins. Excellent food and service! You can relax by the pool take out a kayak and hit the sauna! All whilst being waited on with food and drink by the wonderful staff.

Un remanso de paz como hay pocos cerca del centeo de Santiago. Amplío y tranquilo comedor. Dispone de una atalaya con techado de paja y vistas privilegiadas del volcán San Pedro.

Do not go.Extremely long wait.Food that seems cooked for hours and hours with no care.And they forget items.

Food is a bit overpriced and is fine but not amazing.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable lunch. The food was great and the portions were large. While I did not particularly like the ginger beer (others may find it delightful), the coffee was truly excellent.

The place is quiet, beautiful, conformable and has a great restaurant.

We loved this place. The owners and staff are nice. The food was INCREDIBLE!

I had lunch at the restaurant with two friends. They ordered a hamburger and chicken tacos, and I ordered fish tacos. Theirs were yummy but the fish in my tacos was tasteless. The dining room is beautifully decorated with lots of curious things to look at and enjoy, including the resident cat, Botas (Boots). Perhaps next time my selection will be tastier.

Beautiful stone built hotel with stone Casitas. Restaurant is excellent. I had Huevos rancheros which were done to perfection. Beautiful gardens. Super views.

Great food cooked after you order- worth the wait. Pure water plumbed into the rooms. Great staff that speaks English. Rooms clean, spacious, not fancy. I have been to Lake Atitlan the past four years and this is my favorite.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Posada. The food at the restaurant was lovely and I appreciated the menu bring in both Spanish and English.

Loooooved Posada! Absolutely excellent hotel and restaurant. The staff from the driver Donald to wait staff including Nino and Petronila (sp?are excellent! Posada is making a difference to the people of Santiago and you can tell the employees love their work! There are a ton of amenities, its decorated beautifully, gorgeous grounds including lake access with restaurant, sauna, pool, dock. The filtered drinking water tap in the room was amazing and wasnt found anywhere else. No WIFI in the upper room we stayed in and was glad we wasnt, we werent there to be on our phones and the WIFI in the lobby/restaurant is excellent. We stayed in multiple cities including at a Radisson in Guatemala city and by FAR this was the best hotel we stayed in in 2 weeks. I cant recommend enough!

Come here for breakfast! Service is slow but the food is worth the wait. Must try the black corn pancakes!!

My wife and I stayed at the posada for 4 nights- Great views of Volcan de San Pedro- Great but expensive food- Accommodating and English speaking staff- Small but spotless rooms; Comfortable beds- Nice pool and jacuzzi- Filtered drinking water tap in the room- Its a little out of town

Awesome spot to explore the region. The owner can provide safe guides and travel tips. He also knows every soul around here. The restaurant is exquisite - as well as the rum selection. A pool and lodge at the water offer a marvelous place to watch the days go by. I will be back!

Super place to stay. Ultimately relaxing, staff is amazing and speak English and Spanish, the grounds and rooms are gorgeous. We played in the pool, swam in the lake, drank mojitos and margaritas in the palapa by the lake, ate awesome meals, met great people. We went to town and saw Maximon, patron of Santiago Atitlan.

Only went for lunch and breakfast. Delicious food, big portions. The coffee could be better but thats an aficionados comment. The site with the accommodation looks very nice, lovely garden.

Good setting but a serious lack of maintenance makes this hotel not pleasant to stay.

Excellent Posada, and even if youre not staying there as a guest you should still try their restaurant.

Spectacular view, Friendly service.Long time gringo owner with a social conscience. All Mayan staff, many of whom speak passable English for those of you who dont. Very clean cabins and rooms in a beautiful garden setting. The restaurant has top quality organic food. Overall, this is the best place we have stayed in Guatemala.

Love this place. Cute clean cottages with fireplaces. Comfortable beds, beautiful pool, spectacular views. Staff was warm and welcoming. Food is wonderful. Everything about Posada de Santiago is first class. Highly recommend!
