The food is excellent, service is good just a little slow.Handmade fresh breads almost every morning. Freshly made German pasta, fermented foods, desserts, fresh juices and very chill laid back environment with vibes. Wifi is good, homemade beers, kombucha, etc

Wow, amazing food at incredible prices!The homebrew beer (Q17was excellent and the saurkraut with Spaetzle (Q32was fantastic. The fruit pie (Q7was also delicious.Highly, highly recommended.

Es un lugar con muchos animales, la comida es buena, buenos precios, ambiente como de granja.

Several people recommended this restaurant for breakfast. The women who work there are friendly and moved us to another spot away from two smokers at the group table. The food was good, but the coffee tasted like instant. The bread we bought to go was really good. However, Hans never spoke to us. He only scowled at us. It made for an overall distasteful experience. We will not return. (The cute animals gave it another star.)

Comida casera abundante, rica, variada y a precios baratos. Mucha influencia alemana en el menú combinada con tradición guatemalteca. Gran atención y lindo espacio para comer al aire libre. Sencillo a veces es perfecto. ¡Recomendadísimo!

Wow! This place is a gem, in a gem of a village! While we didn’t stay here, we did enjoy the delicious food and beer. I had the sauerkraut and potatoes which was a special of the day and honestly the beat I have tasted outside of Germany! The owner Han’s makes his own beer, a pale ale and a bock and they are both amazing and only 14 quetzals each ($2Many backpackers and expats visit here so it’s a great place to catch up with people and hear their stories! Loved it

In Jaibalito we know the place as Hans. I love it as much as everyone else. Hans keeps thing simple: a regular menu, a daily one and open all day long for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He also has many of his own products. its the meeting place in town and Jaibalito would nto be the same without Hans.

Best coffee in the world, best all around service, best breads, home brews and Hans is the most wonderful man in service of the community! Cant recommend enough! Grateful to have this place in Jaibalito

Sehr gute preiswerte schwäbische Küche. Es gibt Gulasch, Spätzle und sogar Sauerkraut, aber auch guatemaltekisches Essen. Man sitzt schön im Garten mit den Hühnern.

We just stopped by for lunch on the hiking way to San Marcos, and had very delicious food at Jaibalito Restaurant. It was a good surprise for us. Mix fruit pie was exceptional. And buy a home made bread loaf if they still have. Real bread.

Hans is just about the sweetest guy youd ever want to meet. Real Guatemala.

Review for the restaurant only: Really cheap and good food (both the western food and local options are better than I expected - the pizza was so good!). Atmosphere can be a bit chaotic with the chickens, ducks and dogs around. The same six or so expats seem to spend all day at the restaurant so sometimes getting a table is hard. The service can be non-existant, which was kind of funny for the first couple of days, but after a week, still having to wait over twenty minutes to be acknowledged by a server became tiresome, especially when there is usually about 5 staff members and only 3 tables.

Unglaublich aber wahr: deutsche Küche die sehr lecker ist, Mega satt macht und auch noch günstig ist! Zudem sind sehr viele Tiere auf dem Gelände. Auf alle Fälle zu empfehlen!

The Posada is an amazing place to eat. This is the hangout spot in Jaibalito town eet local expats and visitors from all over the world. Hans is an incredible host, involved in many community projects. This was my favorite cafe around the lake, not to be missed.

Great place! Hans and women bringing food were nice. Reasonable prices, good food (German and Guatemalan). Open good hours. Really great option in a small village.
