The worst hotel I stayed at in my whole life and I’m traveling 10 times a year. The rooms are super dirty; yes, we do stay in the jungle BUT there are spider nests everywhere, the floor is so dirty you can’t step on it with bare foot and all surfaces in the bedroom and bathroom are so dirty you don’t even want to remove your stuff from your luggage. The Housekeeping Team is doing a VERY bad job and it is very sad as this hotel could have been a little heaven in the middle of the Southern American Amazon Jungle. The food is “ok” but the breakfast is awful. The coffee was running out if you were running late for breakfast and the staff is collecting the food from the buffet while everyone’s still eating (how rude?!On the other hand, the staff members are very friendly, polite and accommodating (especially, Bryan). Not recommending this place.

Services are excellent. Staff is very cooperative. Vegetarian food is not very common in this part of the world. But they put special efforts to make us comfortable. Thanks.

Wonderful, magical place that immersed us into the culture and wildlife of the Amazon rainforest. Do not pass this by! All the guides are wonderful. Our group was well taken care of by Gilbert and Oscar. Our visit was set up by Imprint tours, a travel group that specializes in ensuring travelers receive the best and safe experience available.

Traveling with a college friend to Peru. Our visit to Posada Amazonas was a highlight. Our guide, Rodolfo was top notch. We enjoyed various hikes where we spied numerous varieties of birds, howler monkeys, red squirrels, marsupials, and more. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting beautiful oxbow lake and trying our hand at fishing for piranhas. We also enjoyed our visit to their farm. Rodolfo’s knowledge was extensive and made our visit truly memorable. The entire staff was very friendly and the food prepared by chef Tony was terrific!

Would give 10 stars if I could! The adventure of a lifetime. Our guide, Angel, deserves much praise for our experience. He was very knowledgable, friendly and customized the tours to our wishes. We saw a lot of wild animals and gained many insights about life in the rainforest - once again thanks to our amazing guide Angel. The lodge was also incredible and served amazing food 3 times a day + snacks inbetween. More than what you could expect in the deep Amazon, right? Thanks for a great experience - we will never forget.RegardsAnna & Mikkel

We stayed for 3d/2n in Jan 2017. Absolutely amazing place with great local guides. I really dont understand the one star reviews, this place was great. Just bring lots of mosquito repellant.

A great experience for those that like a sense of adventure but don’t want to veer too far from homely comforts (like myself). Well arranged from the airport, with a bus, 2.5hr boat ride and a 15 min walk through the rainforest to get to the lodge, including a nice filling Amazon lunch. Eco-friendly Lodge was clean and always had coffee and tea and fresh water throughout the day. The rooms were clean, but you really have to be ok with bugs and lizards running around all day (in the room, I spent most of my time under the mosquito nets in the bed). Food was a delicious buffet for all meals, and did not disappoint. The lodge manager was super attentive to each individual guest even though there was more than 50 people there when we stayed.Activities were not overly adventurous including bird watching, boat ride to see otters, education on amazon medicines, insect hunting at night). Saw a few monkeys and bats, and some rodent type animals. Our guide Hans was very passionate about the amazon which we loved and made everything more special. He spoke great English too.If you’re looking for a simple taste of the amazon, this is great. If you’re more interested in more adventurous activities and better sightings of animals, they talked about Refugio Amazonas which is a sister lodge another 4 hours away (total 7 hr boat ride). Definitely an experience of a lifetime.

Awesome experience with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Rooms have an open wall concept so you have a view into the jungle and bugs may get in your room although very few got into ours. Claudia the manager was great a host. When me and my wife were not feeling well she made a separate soup specifically for us to help us feel better. Scott was our guide and did a great job during all our excursions

Time of my life,I so enjoyed my time in the Amazon at Posadas Amazonas and would highly recommend this trip to others. It is an “in the jungle” experience, your room is without one wall and the activities are outdoors in the jungle and early in the morning. This was an incredible and incredibly fun experience! Big thank you to Hans for being a great guide as well.

Our three night, two day stay here was awesome. Being so close to the wildlife and nature was exactly what we wanted. Getting up before 05:00 for excursions was a bit rough but 100% worth it!Our guide, Juan Jose, was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I would not recommend this place at all. The woman who was in charge and working there was incredibly rude and always with a sour face. The room is completely open and freezing cold at night; we asked the staff to bring us four extra blankets and the woman in charge came into our room to investigate our request before finally only bringing us two blankets. In my friend’s room, they had NO running water at all, and when we complained the staff literally did NOTHING. I do not recommend this place at all - spare yourself and go elsewhere!

Absurdly beautiful. Truly feels like you are in a magazine. So much incredible wildlife, small groups with your own (wonderful and very smart/informedguide, tons of stuff to do, masseuse on site (costs extra but my intense jungle massage was my first massage every and was great), food is genuinely very good and I was able to find stuff even as a picky eater. I was very very worried about bugs as they are a *big* fear of mine but honestly we were there in the dry season and saw maybe two or three the whole time we were there. Couple leafcutter ants at night (thats when you can find stuff if youre looking for it), a moth, and a couple mosquitos. I was worried about bugs with the open air rooms but it wasnt an issue at all they know their stuff and nothing comes in or even near the rooms. But! The lodge is set up so that there are trees close enough by that we saw an ant eater, quite a few monkeys, and some beautiful birds while just walking between our room and meals/getting ready to leave. The salt lick is incredible (saw parakeets and macaws!). My personal favorite part was the big lookout tower thing because the views were absolutely jaw dropping. You see the canopy in every direction, the winding river, and the sunset makes everything just perfect. Cannot recommend going more.

Amazing place. Staff is friendly and helpful. The lodge is located in the rainforest. Rooms are simple and has no windows, so you can fill the nature pretty close. There are not much privacy in the rooms, you can hear anything happens with your neighbors. But it didnt bother me at all.Everything was clean. Our guide Christian was really helpful with photos of animals.Activities are good as well, most of them are outside, so if you have bad weather there are not much things to do.Food was good, I prefer lunch to dinner, full bar also available.

Very friendly staff! Gilbert and Hans were excellent tour guides. Awesome location - right in the rainforest. You basically sleep in the rainforest because one wall of your room is totally open! The beds have mosquito nets. Food was very good and had lots of healthy vegetarian options. Access to a tower that you can climb that takes you above the entire rainforest. Spectacular views!Cons - coffee was not very good and sometimes cold. Even at meal times. Bathrooms at the main area were not properly stocked, the facilities had some things lacking that are easy fixes so its disappointing that they werent cared for - for instance, the bathroom doors didnt close properly, the shower is a makeshift suspended wood system with a big piece of plastic hanging to enclose the structure, the toilets didnt flush well. I would stay here again. Though there are a list of drawbacks, this was, overall, a very nice stay. 4 stars.

Beautiful retreat. Clean and upscale. Food was delicious. Our guide was awesome. Animals we saw included giant river otters, black caiman, macaws, capuchin monkeys. Even saw a Jaguar on the river bank. The one downside is the bugs... The rooms are designed such that the far wall from the door is open to the jungle (theres a railing). You get a mosquito net though which keeps the bugs out. Just cant keep the Amazon humidity out hahah

The Rainforest was amazing, We enjoyed the vegetation and animals. Our guide, Gilbert, was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure we had the best possible experience with the tours. Please note this is a physically demanding location to get to-bus ride, canoe ride-steep steps. The excursions require navigating into and out of canoes, which is not always easy and once again the steep steps to and from the lodge.Unfortunately, the facility itself was not as wonderful. The rooms are discomfortably not very private. The walls are not solid and while your neighbors cant see into your room, you can hear every noise and sound. Their is not a window, but a large opening. Mosquito netting is placed around the bed every night. While our room was cleaned daily, the towels were exchanged even though the humidity doest allow them to dry fully.Plan on arriving to meals on time-a delay may result in a limited selection of food remaining. The food quality was adequate but nothing more. The bar tender was not always readily available before and after dinner although he could be called. In general, the non-guide staff seemed fairly indifferent. The WiFi was spotty-but then again its the Amazon so impressed they had it at all.

Probably the best service I have ever received at any accommodation. The staff is super nice and caring. The place is beautiful, beds are really comfortable and food is delicious. If you visit between May and August dont forget to bring a jacket. Youll get a great chance to see wildlife and wake up in the middle of the rainforest, without any actual walls or windows.

Stayed there in August. Most Amazing experience. I would go back in a heartbeat. Prepare to have monkeys jumping over your head while walking down the walkway and lizards living on the walls of your bathroom! The guides are brilliant too. They can spot any animal from like a mile away. No exaggeration. They found Howler monkeys and capybaras from so far away, I couldnt even see them without binoculars. I saw a ton of nature and learned a lot.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Posada Amazonas for the 2 night 3 day tour. It was an amazing experience! The Posada Amazonas staff is extremely organized and professional, and the accommodations are beautiful. Our guide was Gilbert, a Posada Amazonas veteran who grew up in the local community. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and he helped us spot multiple varieties of monkeys, caimans, river otters, and creepy crawlers. The lodge is under excellent management and they do a great job of making the guests comfortable while still allowing them to feel closer to nature. The food is also excellent and incorporates lots of native/traditional dishes while still being very westerner-friendly.We loved the entire experience! Highly recommended to anyone looking to experience the Amazon with a locals perspective while enjoying the luxury of one of the best eco lodges around.
