So much to see and do ! We bought the ultimate ticket online and although it was Β£80 for two tickets you get 12 months free unlimited visits within 12 months . It was nice to see all the Royal Navy exhibitions and how it would have been in the olden days

A great day out for all the family which depends on ticket you purchase. Best value is the Ultimate Explorer which gives access to everything plus it lasts for 12 months. Unfortunately we were late arriving so we will be going back to finish our experience. I would estimate 2 days to see it all. Mary Rose display was stunning, the last time I saw that was in the mid 80s being sprayed with water and chemicals. The only let down was HMS Victory was being restored and we couldnt see it in all its glory.

So much history in one place. The Victory, the Mary Rose amongst the boats to see. Seriously consider a day for this trip with a ticket to view more exhibits.

Portsmouth historic dockyard is truly spectacular. With its 3 big attractions Victory warrior and Mary Rose. I would recommend getting the ultimate tickets so you can see/ go inside all the attractions, also gives you acces to the other 2 sites nearby explosion museum and submarine musem. With the ultimate ticket you can come back as many time as you like within the year. Plenty of boathouses to explore, displays to see and cafes / shops. Would also recommend going on the boat tour of the dockyard included in the ultimate ticket, which was one of many highlight. Kids play areas and exhibition are a great touch . Parking nearby for a charge.

The dockyard itself is a great place to visit. Starts to get a bit pricey when paying for the visits tot he different attractions. For two adults and a child.to.include one visit to a attraction ( we did the victoryit cost over 70 pounds. Although cant knock the history

Great place to go for the day. Β£39 for the ultimate explorer ticket which allows you to see 10 attractions for a year. So much to see. We started at HMS warrior then got the boat over to the submarine museum. This was so cool as you could walk through the submarine . Lots of photo opertunites on the sea. Then cam back and saw the HMS Victory and then the Mary Rose museum. Still have more to see so will be coming back. That lasted us the whole day and got there at 10:30, cafes and nearby parking for Β£9 for our time there. Left around 6

Highly recommend buying an ultimate experience ticket, this gives a fantastic opportunity to visit everything on site and is valid for 12 months. We managed to visit 3 of the main attractions so will make use of the ticket, retuning to explore the rest. All staff are very friendly and helpful. An amazing place to visit. Parking is close by and at a reasonable price.

Portsmouth historic dockyard is a fantastic day out, the yard is home to some of the most famous ship in history. With a amazing mary Rose Exhibition. The ship has been preserved in a sensitive way. HMS Victory is currently undergoing restoration but is open to the public, and HMS warrior is fantastic. I would recommend the historic dockyard to everyone not just history enthusiasts.

Excellent experience!!! Can not praise enough.Attended with my husband, daughter and 12yr old grandson.HMS Warrior was the favourite exhibit of my husband daughter and grandson. HMS Alliance submarine over in Gosport was my favourite. The Mary Rose and M33 were also amazing.A must for any history buffs ( see the place where Nelson died on Victoryfantastic for engineering and naval enthusiasts like myself.A bonus for me was HMS Prince of Wales the stricken aircraft carrier was in dock before being taken to Scotland for propeller repairs.Well worth the Β£39 entrance fee which allows return visits for one yr.Negatives: food is very expensive in the various eateries if youre a family, also you have to keep showing your ticket for every attraction, also be prepared to show Id if booked online.Tip: there is a great fish and chip shop just opposite the entrance/exit.Overall a fantastic experience requiring at least 2 days to see comfortably.PARKING: MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER HAVE MOBILITY ISSUES, WE BOTH FOUND THE WALK FROM THE CAR PARK TO ENTRANCE DIFFICULT WITH FEW PLACE TO REST, MOR BENCHES ON THIS WALK AND INSIDE THE DOCKS WOULD BE BENEFICIAL.

Well worth a visit if you are OK on your feet. Most of the boats as you would expect have very steep steps. The Mary Rose exhibition is fantastic with all areas accessible. If you are able to visit all the attractions you will need at least a couple of days to do so.

Great historic location with multiple attractions. Not the cheapest but your ticket is valid for unlimited visits over 12 months. HMS Victory, the Mary Rose, and HMS Warrior alone are worth the price. Note its big your going to be walking a lot, however there are enty of places to sit and rest. The Mary Rose museum is just amazing.

A brilliant day out for all the family. You wont be short of choice for things to see and do. Tickets are available in many options from individual ships all the way to full years admission to see everything on offer.Facilities for the disabled or those with mobility issue are amazing considering it is an active military base. All staff are willing and able to help with access and assistance. There are restrictions on access for persons not able to mobilise without a wheelchair on the ships but this is to be expected. The Mary Rose exhibit is fully accessible and well worth a visit. The kids area was being renovated when we attended but we look forward to our return to explore more.Ample food options are available with plenty of choice but if you can wait till after your visit, the sea front is a short walk from the main gate.Shopmobility is local and ten minutes away by scooter and staff are great.Be prepared to have bags searched as it is a operational property.

Absolutely loved it.We gained admission on a free entry ticket and quickly found that there is still plenty to see for free here, boathouse 7 and boathouse 4 in particular were fascinating. After three hours we were forced to retire due to aged legs but could easily have spent more time nosing around. We would love to come back another time and gladly pay to get into the premium exhibitions.Fabulous experience πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

ProsThe accessibility of HMS Warrior was fantastic. Not in a million years would I expect to not only go on the deck but be able to take a stair lift down to the deck bellow. The member of staff also carried my wheelchair down for me rather than making me use thier wheelchair. The accessibility of HMS Victory was good too. You can go on to the gun deck via a wheelchair accessible ramp. Although you cannot go to the other decks without walking , I was shown to a curtained off area so I could watch a DVD about the ship so I could still experience everything.A huge thank you to Bethan who gave us a demonstration of the loading and shooting process of the cannon."Shooting not firing or you will get a bucket of water thrown in your face!" You really made our day and are a huge asset :)The Mary Rose museum has flawless wheelchair accessibility. Ramps and a lift for all levels. There are also collapseable seats for guests to carry around so you can rest while looking at the exhibits. The projections onto the Mary Rose were really cool. I went there 20 odd years ago and its something else now. One of the best museums Ive ever been to. Seeing the Mary Rose as it is now is mind blowing. The staff are all willing to help and are very friendly and very knowledgeable.Theres a good verity of exhibits to see at one venue which is great. Lots of the exhibits have childrens activity books and live demonstrations from staff. The resturant had a good verity of food and although a bit pricy, was very good quality. There are also some old arcade type games that were great fun.A great day out for all the family but not necessarily for under 5s. Our 3 year old had a nice enough day but if you had only under 5s it may be one to avoid. The tickets are fairly pricy but if you can visit more than once in the year are definitely worth it. You can also buy the tickets with Tesco clubcard vouchers.ConsParking price Β£9 and disabled parking only has space on one side of vehicle which is a nightmare when driver and passenger are disabled. The car park is a fair way away is you are in a wheelchair. Some boats/attractions close early so easily missed as not enough time to get to everything when they close at 3. Althought your tickets do allow you access for 12 monthsNo information from ticket office of where things are and the toilets good distance away.Souvenir guidebook is out of date and we missed attractions as where planning to go to horrible history exhibit which closed 2 years ago. It also doesnt tell you much.

We bought the ticket that allows you to go back later in the hear and I think we will make use of it. HMS Warrior was our favourite as it had so much to explore and even actors, sorry, sailors acting out their duties. For example, we watched one of the sailors get a Canon ready for firing and I even got roped in to go and fetch the gunpowder. HMS Victory was also fascinating but please duck, I hit my head countless times on the low ceilings. We also went on the small tour boat that takes you around the dockyards pointing out all of the different Naval ships and giving some backstory of each one. Finally, after some reasonably priced lunch, we visited the ancient Mary Rose Ship. It was a sight to behold and the whole experience was amazing. As you go into the building you are greeted by a life sized Henry VIII projection before entering the different rooms holding all the artifacts found in the shipwreck. Then you see the ship, or whats left of it, through windows. However, if you make it to the top floor then you will get to see it with nothing but a fence in-between you and the ship. Every minute or so, various scenes of the sailors are projected onto different parts of the ship. We ended the trip with an ice cream before heading back as it was a hot day.

The whole Dockyard is really well organised and presented. I visited during summer holidays and there were lots of families but no particular area was overcrowded.Queues can be long but are usually fairly fast moving. The Mary Rose is a definite highlight, it’s a whole museum on its own. I really recommend going to it first. The tickets are pretty expensive but are valid for a year, there’s a lot to see so you can definitely revisit to get some more value out of your tickets.

Just fantastic. The HMS Warrior was the star of the show. Authentic victorian sailors talking as if the ship has passed through time. So much to see the Mary Rose was incredible. The victory was starting its long needed renovation, although its still open its a bit of a sorry state. Must visit day out. Awesome attractions and shops with plenty of choices for the hungry! One word of warning. Its not cheap. But well wort it!

A wonderful experience being able to see and appreciate things that existed centuries ago. I did enjoy the Mary Rose tour most especially the beginning with the effects and along Henry’s speech. I never knew that ships were so big even the anchors and ropes. Wowww. I only ever get to see them in movies but boy, they are so big. Then the travel bus experience😎.

Well worth the visit as the tours of the Warrior, M33 and Victory are well done with costumed characters on the Warrior to talk to and guide you who are well versed in the history of the ship. Be aware that the Victory is currently undergoing a big restoration project and is shrouded in scaffolding but you can still go inside for a self guided audio tour. You need to allow 2 days to see everything so as not to rush anything. We spent a good part of the day in the Mary Rose, it was fantastic and very well laid out. We would visit again.

A wonderful journey to walk into the history. Well often be amazed at the patience, determination, endurance and ignorance of the people in history. "Victory" the battleship is not just a name but a piece of teaching that we all should remember and try to avoid from committing the same mistake again, though that will still be a long way from now... May peace be the everlasting pursuit and realization of every human.

Huge area with far too much to see in one day, so pick what is of most interest. You can pay for individual attractions, or buy a ticket for several attractions. Also theres a 12 month option. Plenty of museums, with some free, some attached to various ships. Note that currently HMS Victory is totally covered in scaffolding. Beware campervan folk, the advertised carpark for the museum has a height barrier. We looked through all the info for this attraction, and no-where does it tell you this. Luckily we found a metered road side space, not yo expensive. Definitely worth seeing if in the area, or if you have an interest in a particular ship.

Not only is Portsmouth a great place to visit in its own right, it has this historic gem. All the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the attractions. The ones in period costume on the ships play the part well and really add something for any kids visiting. The gem of the site apart from being an active naval base is of course the Mary rose. The amount of artifacts on display is staggering, and now that you get a clear view of the ships remains just adds to the experience. One thing to keep in mind is that 3 of the 4 ships on display are outside and they are all spread out across the site, so check the weather. Well worth a visit.

This is an amazing place to visit, come for a morning to mid afternoon history, a little bit of shopping, and stay for the wonderful cool eve and dinner. Sadly we could not get a better photo of the ship due to it undergoing maintenance, but took the best shots we could on the ship we chose to visit. Will definitely return to have a look at the others. Plan for at least 2-3 hours if youre planning to see the HMS Victory to be able to take it all in and see a great part of history.

Great experience for a family πŸ‘ͺ visit. You need probably more than one day in order to explore everything. See all photos πŸ“· attached!πŸšͺ Entrance: Be patient as there is usually a waiting queue and there is a bag πŸ‘œ control before getting tickets.πŸ…Ώ Parking: Spaces available within 2 mins walking distance from the entrance of the Dockyard. We parked at the Dockyard parking.🎟 Tickets: we went for the free πŸ†“ option as we didnt have enough time to visit the ships. The tickets are annual so you can visit the place any time in the future during a year. Absolutely fabulous place for anyone who likes history, naval history or ships, with the Mary Rose exhibition, the Victory, HMS Warrior 1860 and a huge range of other exhibits and museums. Its all really well organised and presented, with very knowledgeable guides and, in some places, actors. Visited with a group of friends and managed to see pretty much everything over 3 very full days (but could have spent even longer!). Incredible value at Β£38, which covers all attractions and also lasts for 12 months. The (includedharbour tour by boat also allows you to see whatever modern ships are in port at the time (we saw - amongst others - the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Navys fleet flagship).Thoroughly enjoyable and very highly recommended.

The dockyard itself is great. However its sad to see HMS Victory looking so sad and in need of a fresh paint job.It would be nice to have more information in the museum, as some of the exhibits seemed to have been dumbed down too much, while I am sure some visitors only want snippets of information others want the whole story.

What a great experience, we didnt get time to see everything, so much to see. HMS Warrior was great, an informative talk about the guns by a sailor was fascinating. Tickets good value for money be used you can go back to the same attractions multiple times in the year. Really enjoyed the victory ship mainly because the audio guides. Made the ships experience much more enjoyable and informative. The warrior ship was much bigger and good to walk round, although lacked information about what things were or background of the ship. There was a few actors hanging around the ship that were good fun. Also did the Marie Rose museum briefly but ran out of time so will have to return to finish this.
