Portside Food + Wine - Cafe in Sale, Australia
An amazing dining experience! Staff were friendly and attentive. The coffee was incredible! And the food⦠well the Buddha bowl was a taste sensation with EVERY bite! If you want somewhere to eat in Sale - DEFINITELY pick this place!
Great food, good vibes..nice place to have lunch near port of sale
Oh- love these guys...totally awesome food, fab service and a really fab atmosphere. Always head in here when in Sale.
We usually dine here for breakfast or lunch and we love whats on their menu especially the crushed avo and benny bagel for brekky and mexican bowl for lunch. However today I opted for a slice of banana bread and my wife got the buttermilk pancakes. The photo showed a gooey mess and a pancake that is soaked to the core. We politely asked the staff if that was how it was served normally and they said yes. Unfortunately it didnt go down well with us and I am not sure if many out there love having their pancake served already submerged in the compote. We expected the compote and cream to be served in separate serving plates and then we can put the amount to our liking. So do keep that in mind if ordering this next time.As for my banana bread, again it was similar to the pancake as in it was soaked in butter already! And cold. I had expected those packets of butter spread to be served beside it but no. Was a very disappointing start to today really.
Coffee was really good and the food was above average
The big breakfast lives up to its name and is very good. Nice pleasant atmosphere
Delicious meals & drinks, in this busy Cafe, arrived quickly by wonderful, friendly staff. Extensive menu with generous lunch serves, Proud Mary coffee and a sweet treat to complete our lunch. Try the Mushroombruschetta, Sweet potato burger, or the Omlette. Thank you, will definitely be back.
Been there a couple of times and usually pretty good, but the two last time were disappointing. The banana bread were not good at all, it was look like biting in an uncooked cake and so greasy. And the week after the cookie seems uncooked as well.A bad batch? A newbie in baking?Anyway I will think twice before I take another sweet treat.:(
One of our favourite places to eat! Food is always amazing, there are heaters outside for cooler days and is dog friendly. Its in a great location for travellers being next to the library and information centre. Quick service and staff are always lovely and efficient.
Generous food portions, good coffee, attentative staff and a great place to meet.
Big breakfast is 8/10 would be 10/10 with baked beans ππΌ
Think you just have to find out for yourself gorgeous staff awesome food.speaks for itself.
Great value for money, good size serves, friendly staff. Will go back again.
Great coffee, great feed! Nice open atmosphere and friendly service.
Meals were fantastic and they were served super quickly. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Absolutely great food and wonderful management & staff ππ
Dropped in for lunch after reading all the great reviews and was not dissappointed. Great food, very clean dining and value for money. Special mention to our lovely waitress Ella who was very attentive, polite and always smiling. Thank you Ella.
Bustling Cafe, with great service and great food. Big selection on the menu.
Delightful attentive staff. Good coffee and small range of cakes
Good food and pleasant waitressed. Will return
Good food
We had a beautiful family brunch here today. The food was amazing and service was excellent. A special thank you to Montana who really looked after us and was so warm and friendly.
Very lovely food and extremely friendly customer service
Very busy but the lunch salad were fantastic. Large serve, beautifully presented and very tasty.Worth the stop.
You really have to pick your times when it comes to ordering coffee, lunch or dinner at Portside Food and Wine. I would almost recommend calling ahead as it gets busy quite quickly. It can also get really buzzy and fast paced when eating inside the venue. However, the customer service is very good. They served our table very quickly on Wednesday afternoon.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with special dietary requirements. They are very unaccommodating. I was told any request for something other than what was on the menu would upset the chef. Every focaccia had dairy in it, and they would not make to order. If youre vegan, you had better be content with just a salad bowl and nothing else.
Dropped in here in the way back to Melbourne from Metung and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and drinks. Ordered the lamb salad and banh mi and both dishes were fresh and delicious. Lamb salad had a heap of ingredients in it and zinged together well, although was massive so probably could share between two people. Fast paced vibes and friendly staff, would recommend for a decent brunch.
We love Portside, it is one of our favourites for breky, lunch and dinner when they open for shows at the Wedge and gallery. We are regulars and the team never disappoints. The new mango panna cotta is as fresh and delicious as it looks - my now favourite breky!
Amazing food, the chefs are very talented! And all the staff were so lovely. Great place. π
They amaze me, not a pen or tablet in sight to take orders and when we went to the front to pay they knew exactly which table we were at pure magic lol. Great food too!
Delicious food in a great location just near the waters edge at the Port of Sale. We had the Caesar Salad, Sweet Potato Burger and Pumpkin Salad - all yummy !
Lovely lovely food, great coffee, friendly and helpful staff. Great location next to Gippsland Art Gallery.
Wonderful food and extremely friendly and accommodating staff!
Delicious breakfast, very friendly staff and lovely setting. Huevos rancheros was a big serve, but I surprised myself by eating most of it - super tasty and a little bit different. Actually it was hard to make a choice as the options were all terrific.
Yum. Busy...indoor and outdoor seating. Excellent service. My meal fried chicken sliders with coleslaw salad and a cup of fries. Washed down with a prosecco. Im going back there soon.
Got a takeaway Jimmy burger here on the 18th August while on a work trip with another colleague, it was that good I was going to come back the following weekend but couldnβt due to lockdown! The burger was one of the best Iβve ever had, perfectly cooked meat patty which was juicy and not dry, and all of the ingredients went great together, not to mention the portion size was a bit larger than the usual so I was actually full afterwards instead of wanting more!I was also blown away by the friendliness and welcome from the staff as you walk in, and even getting the food handed to you while you wait was a nice touch. It was very busy on the day, and the food came out quickly.Itβs also a great atmosphere inside as well with high ceilings.Very highly recommend and will definitely be back after the lockdowns. The reviews are definitely testament to how good the owners are running this business.
This is one spot you must try. If you have not had the 3 egg 3 cheese omelette you have not lived. So full of flavour yet you can still taste all the elements. The hash browns were so crunchy you could hear them from the next table. My wife had the Portside Benny, again so full of flavour and the bagel was super soft and not too dense. My mother in-law had maple bacon pancakes, pancakes were super light and fluffy with crispy bacon. My Nefew got the double choc chip muffin (always a healthy breakfast with Uncle Benno! Lolit was amazing, served hot and gooey, so amazing his eyes rolled back in his head! Our Coffees were well made delicious too.Srevice was super friendly, you felt like a regular! If you are in the area make sure you check it out. Highly recommend.
geeat spot for a bite to eat. Catch it on your way in or out of town
Absolutely delicious! Breakfasts, lunches... great service during our isolation in Matador Motel!
Pleasant lunching with my youngest grand daughter. We enjoyed sitting outside in the fresh air great service with a smile!
Portside is one of our favourite places to eat out in Sale, especially for breakfast. The food is great and the service is top notch. Itβs always quite busy so it pays to make a booking so you donβt miss out. Iβd highly recommend this spot π
One of my favorite places to dine. Great table service. Fantastic food. Trendy N upmarket. I shared a table with a random couple (Very large long time so no issueswe actually had some great little chats. Much to my surprise we all got along great and that made my day. Wasnt awkward was just comments to each other at start and at finish. Staff were amazing. Fast and efficient. Lovely personalities. Good advice on delicious food. Will always come back. Even for lunch on my birthday. Not joking. I would book ahead if you needed specific table requirements. However even when full, the food still came out so delicious and fresh and surprising quick. Perfect amount of staff and service. Best food. Definitely a huge fan especially for the price. Food tastes like gods tears. Or at least angel level ππ
The dish was phenomenal. All the ingredients mixed well. Just perfect, not too salty or coverd by too much seasoning.
The nameβs a little confusing as I think the cafe is now rebranded as Dock 70. The cafΓ© is between the Sale Art Gallery and Sale Library and easily accessible in the centre. The cafe is in an excellent location and punches well above itβs weight in beverage, food and service. It could be open a tad later on Sunday though!
Beautiful venue with a great menu full of different options to suit any diet.Has an extensive range of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. The staff are all lovely and the coffee is great, will definitely drop by again!
Excellent service and fresh food presented with flair. Located close to the port of sale in a rather flash building that must be part of a nation building program. Despite being vegan, the Buddha bowl was filling and full of wonderful new tastes. Amazing roast vegetables and spicy preserves, along with tasty grains. Plenty of interesting and traditional non vegetarian options as well.
Fabulous coffee and delicious brekky! Great eggs, pancakes, smashed avo on toast and lots of other tasty choices. Service was friendly and prompt. The cafe is modern and light filled with huge windows overlooking the outdoor seating area. Loved it !
Really nice breakfast, they were very busy, but it was worth the wait, yes Iβll be back next time Iβm passing through sale ππ» sorry half eaten meal pics π
Swiss Brown Burger would be beaut but theres absolutely no pattie in it! #ForVegansOnlyHowever, 3 beers on tap and a grand piano so they get 4 stars from me! ππΊπΉππ»ππ»
I had the Panang Pork Belly and Milkshake. Very tasty! The internal decor could better. Staff very friendly and helpful
