Portly Villager - Bar in Sayville, United States
Outstanding local bar with super friendly service, great selection of nice cold beers on tap, and a great menu of handcrafted sandwiches! Always worth a visit.
Way too many great memories to pick just one. This place is perfect for any occasion and the staff and owner are great people.
Cozy bar with nice vibes. Can definitely get cramped very quickly though but that kind of comes with the territory.
Awesome spot!
Ice cold beer, hearty sandwiches and great people! Will be back !
It took over an hour to get bar food, even an order of tater tots for my 2 year old, who ate potato chips for dinner it got so late. And there were only a few other people there. Several of the orders were burnt, returned, and those second orders came out before tater tots and grilled cheese! Horrible service, and the food wasnt much better (some food served was good, other orders awful). Will never go there again. Very nice people, but doing a very poor job.
Good atmosphere can get tight inside, outside seating available
House sandwiches are amazing!!!!!
Good food great service
First time there, mid week lunch; great bartender, beautiful place. Didnt expect 2 big soft pretzels for my app, so that was a nice bonus. Hero was generously sized. Good selection of beer.
Great bar and bartenders besides the bouncer matt doty who is miserable and hostile all of the time for no reason at all
Best place ever 😉 I love all the bartenders and the owners are awesome 😎
Great neighborhood pub with a varied mix of friendly folks. A comfortable place to have a beer!
A very nice, casual local pub. Free popcorn, friendly staff.
Just a cool place with cool calm people. Good tap beer selection for a small place...nice outdoor area. What more can you ask for?
great drinks and service! will be back next weekend!
Excellent place to have a few, bartender was fantastic.
Local bar that has excellent sandwiches and excellent appetizers.. bartenders are always happy and make excellent drinks. M
I go here once a month or so with my good friends and we love the bartenders and staff. Super friendly, you can tell they arent just being extra friendly for tips, they genuinely seem happy to work there and happy to assist us. Very relaxed place, amazing atmosphere, and good drinks and great food (Get the "Baby Gorilla" sandwich!)
Great place - beer was fresh and served in chilled glasses.
Loved the Brown sugar bourbon...yummy...nice place to have a cocktail
Low key bar with friendly bartenders. A comfortable place to get a sandwich, a drink and just hang out.
Hands down my favorite bar. Low key, amazing bartenders, fabulous sandwiches and of course, great drinks!
What a cute tiny bar. Theres security waiting at the door to check your I.D. so make sure you have it! I ordered a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. First time having it and it was very good; Sweet with only a subtle alcohol taste. There was a nice array of music. It was crowded but not in an uncomfortable way. Bar tender was friendly. There was a girl who was very drunk there and security made sure she got an Uber home. Clean bar, fair enough lighting and fun atmosphere. They have these little plaques on the ceiling with sayings and business advertisements that were funny. They serve food too but I came around 3:00 am so the kitchen was closed. They offered me popcorn but I wasnt in the mood for it. Also they were serving drinks still at 3:00am when all the other bars had stopped by then. Thats what made me go there in the first place. As mentioned, it is tiny though and did not have a lot of places to sit other than the chairs at the bar and some by the bathroom but my friend and I werent there long so it didnt bother us. Had a lot of fun. Would definitely come back with friends.
Great place to kick back and relax, with amazing food! Excellent wings and try the roast beef w/swiss on a toasted roll! Delish! Check this place out! 👍👍
Good food but no burgers on menu
The bartender is a great guy, and the sandwiches are delicious!
Great sandwiches and friendly service!
Great atmosphere. Great sandwiches. Good cold beer. Best pub in the winter when the fire is going.
I absolutely love this place! Great atmosphere (love the decorations they put up for different holidays/seasons and the fireplace in the winter months), wonderful bartenders and a terrific beer selection. They usually stay open quite late and dont just close up and boot you out the door if youre one of the last few there... which is awesome! Havent tried the food yet, since I usually get there after the kitchen closes, but cant wait to try it - heard great things! Definitely one of my favorite places to go to with friends/family when in Sayville.
Apparently they had a redheaded elf there last night, and i wanted to ice his buns.
Nice place to stop for a beer. Food is average bar food. Appears to have a regular crowd.
What a great local pub/eatery. This was my first time there. I ordered a Turkey Hero, with the pretzel and Mozzarella sticks for the table.I can not believe the amount of food that came out, we ended up taking a lot of it home. And the Turkey was not sliced cold cuts, it was actual Turkey off the bone type. Prices were more than fair and the guy behind the bar was great. If your looking for something new definately hit this place up.
First time here. There is plenty of free parking and it is easy to see from the road. Walking in from a sunny afternoon it was quite dark inside, but had a large stone fireplace with a warming fire going g. There are tables right near the fireplace which was really nice. There is piped in music and several televisions playing sports with no sound. There was one bartender/ waiter only for all the tables (about 6and the bar. The menu is only soups, sandwiches and drinks. I ordered chili and a turkey club. My husband ordered vegetable soup and bratwurst. Food came out quickly and was steaming hot. Chili and soup were excellent, but served in a paper bowl with a plastic spoon. Both sandwiches were huge served with a pickle, little side of potato salad and small bag of chips. These were served in a well used and not clean wicker basket with deli paper protecting it from touching the wicker which I was glad to see because my basket had smears of tomato sauce or ketchup on it. The food was good but I was quite put off by the big spots of chewed gum, spit out and walked over until it creates round black spots on the wood floor. The menus look like they have never been wiped down with a disinfectant wipes. Tables and chairs need a good scrubbing as the back of my chair was sticky. I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like as it is completely sealed off by a swinging wooden door. Best idea here, get it as take out.
Great bartenders, chill vibe, 23 and older crowd
Great local hometown pub. Good mixed drinks and decent beer selection. They only serve appetizers and sandwiches but the sandwiches are killer! My personal favorite is the "heart attack"
This is a great local spot, the bartenders are very nice. Love the sandwiches here.
Awesome. Great host to the Fatty McGees Spring Fling Bike Tour. Raising money for Fisher House. Thank you from all us.
Over an hour to have a sandwich made. Unbelievable. Athough the bartender is a very nice guy spending his time apologizing for the kitchen. Ill have to give it another try.
Awesome pub! Great food and wonderful service with excellent ambience!
Nice neighborhood bar. Very friendly atmosphere.
Gets crowded nights and weekends, but otherwise a pretty great bar. Fireplace in the winter and a lot of TVs for sports and such. Laid back atmosphere, good "design your own" sandwiches.
Great bar-pub! Good beer selection and great sandwiches!
Our local go to bar! Friendly staff and great sandwiches.
Slightly pricey drink prices. Small but homey kind of place.
Great sandwiches. Cold beer. Friendly staff and regulars
Great place to relax enjoy some brews and down some delicious sandwiches. And the service is spectacular!
Classic local hangout with historical feel, fireplace and abundant TV screens for sports. Trendy crowd of all ages.
An awesome little pub. It looks like a somewhat nautical/Pre American Revolution theme on the inside. Lots of regulars have their own plaques on the ceiling.Friendly bartenders. No need to fight or jostle for their attention. They sense your beer is getting low so they either fill it up or ask if you want another before you are done.Regulars are quiet but friendly. A local crowd that stays calm. Although I have heard that the college crowd comes in later.Sandwiches are good. I dont think its Boars Head but you get a little checklist and pick and choose all your breads, cold cuts, toppings, etc. They have soups and I think now burgers and dogs. Large portions. Good price.Just a nice place.
Sayvilles sports bar. You can enjoy a pint or two with the bartenders, very friendly. Typical people stop on the way home from work then later in the evening the younger folks come in.Open at 11 for lunch where you can get a sandwich or some wings.
