Wonderful stay! Very cozy room, excellent location. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I had an early flight. Bed was comfortable, bathroom and breakfast room were sparkling clean.Perfect spot to stay if you dont have a car and are walking everywhere, since you are surrounded by restaurants and next to Trader Joes. I look forward to staying here again whenever Im back in Portland!
Such an amazing experience! Staying here was an absolute treat!
Clean and sanitary but not soundproof and difficult to park!
The accommodations were cute and clean, great location and helpful staff. Very comfy bed!
Simple, affordable rooms in a historic home in a great neighborhood with lots of walkable restaurants, bars, shops, and more. The only caution is accessibility. Time-limited street parking and steep, narrow stairs may make it difficult or impossible for some folks to access this historic space.
Unfortunately, I was not able to stay here due to a change in my plans, but they were so easy to communicate with, and very helpful! Based on my experience, I would love to stay the next time I am in Portland.
What a great stopping spot! Stayed here overnight so my car could get fixed the next morning. So close to so many great spots. Loved the Audrey decor. Happy we found this place and will stop by again in the future.
Quaint home.
Awesome and friendly host
Loved the location and accommodations! Super friendly and helpful.
Comfortable rooms, good price, perfect location for walking to our Portland destinations.
Worst place. I got hives hereUpdate per owners response (over a year after my stay- the reservation was not in my name. It’s possible there are new owners and they have cleaned up since my stay, but when I was there it was not clean.
I have travelled from abroad to stay in Portland and landed upon the Portland International Guesthouse on Google search. And, man, have I come to the right place.Groggy, I arrived late on Sunday but Tim made it very clear and easy to check in when I got to their guesthouse, a welcome relief. To top it off, both Tim and Stephen went out of their way to answer my many questions (many of them dumb questions!and accommodate my needs, practically bending over backwards to make my stay as pleasant as possible, even recommending favourite food haunts. It felt like I was staying with close friends. The guesthouse is listed as 3-star but with all that Tim and Stephen have done, 5-star is really more appropriate. It’s lovely and understanding folks like Stephen and Tim that make me want to stay in Portland.Thank you both!
Wonderful place with comfortable bed and friendly people. Loved it there.
Comfy beds, super clean, the BEST HOSTS ANYWHERE!
Great location
A comfortable, beautiful and very clean place, with the right philosophy.Would be great to have an oven, but thats the only thing lacking.Internet connection works well.
Such a friendly place and so conveniently located to lots of shopping and food! Would recommend to anyone/ any couple visiting Portland!
Simple but comfortable (and affordableaccommodations in the heart of the Pearl District. Management was very kind and responsive to our needs. Other guests were lovely and quiet. Shared kitchen and living room spaces were homey and a nice bonus. Highly recommend if you don’t need your own bathroom.
Cute old house, decent amount of street noise, room was way to warm.
Comfortable European style. I shared a room with my teenage sons one night. We felt warm and cozy.
Espectacular casa compartida. Muy cuidada.
Lovely!
Very friendly and accommodating!
Decent place, very friendly and responsive staff. We had to arrive late than originally scheduled and when called to inform, they provided instructions that made my checkin very smooth. The floors were squeaky and since we arrived late I hope it did not bother the other guests. Common restrooms but they are very clean. Beds are springy, however we had to be there only for a few hrs, so it was fine to manage.
리셉션이 없고 무인시스템인데 깔끔하고 괜찮아요. 수건도 다 제공해주고 부엌 잘 되어 있고 따듯한 물 잘 나옴!
Have stayed here the last 3 years during spring break. Rooms are clean and comfortable worth a convenient shared kitchen. Location is ideal for walking downtown.Love it!
Loved this place! I booked 2 nights here because of how great the reviews were and how helpful & kind Tim was over the phone - I was not disappointed! It was super easy to get the key upon arrival with the access code (we didnt get there until 11pmand we were able to store our luggage after we checked out. The room/entire house was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable, and the house was within ~20 minutes walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. Its located in a great area for a great price. Honestly, you really cant go wrong. I recommend this place to everyone who tells me they are visiting Portland and I will stay here again the next time I visit!
Great place to stay! Very cute, clean B&B in a fun neighborhood with plenty of hangout spots and grocery nearby. We called ahead about slightly check-in at noon and they accomodated no problem. Quiet enough for my partner to catch some sleep midday after coming off night shift. Well definitely come again.
This is a great place to stay on a budget without losing any comfort or safety. As a couples getaway my boyfriend & I stayed for 3 nights and loved it! We were near everything and literally walked everywhere we went (train station, Powells, shops, restaurants, etc.). The owners were sweethearts who recommended great places for us to explore and let us store our baggage after checkout. Our room was comfortable, clean, quiet, and had great wifi. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Im amazed I havent written a review yet -- maybe its because I almost dont want to let other people know about this place! I have been staying here for years -- its my number one choice any time I get a chance to visit Portland. The owners are super friendly and helpful and the location is amazing. I can walk to lovely restaurants, shops, Powells books, the Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden (some of these walks are 1/2 hour long or so, so maybe not everyone would consider them walking distance, but for me it is perfect). Plus, Kens Bakery is one block away :-The rooms are comfortable and welcoming and the whole house is spotless.
Beautiful place, sparkling clean and comfortable, nicely furnished rooms. Self check-in was super easy. I would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a place to stay on a budget without sacrificing cleanliness, comfort and location. Ill definitely be back! Thank you Portland International Guesthouse :)PS - I would highly recommend checking out the Barrel Room on a Saturday for the Dueling Pianos..it was so much fun, something for everyone!
I loved this place! Great location, nice rooms, beautiful house and common areas, inexpensive compared to other options and the owner was really friendly and helpful. Havent got a single bad thing to say about the place. This is one of the best hostels you will ever stay in (especially for the price).
This place is lovely! Its a great location, close to everything that we wanted to do (walking distance to downtown, and with its own little neighborhood - including Trader Joes and the most delicious bakery - Kens - check it out!It was very quiet and well-kept, and always felt like we were coming home at the end of the day. Though the bathrooms are shared they are clean and nice, and there are several of them so there is always one free!Cant beat the price either! Well definitely stay here the next time that we are in Portland. Thanks!
Loved it. Loved everything about it.
This is an amazing place to stay in PDX. Everything is within walking distance - downtown, pearl district, waterfront, Washington park, trader Joe, etc. The nob hill area has a lot of great restaurants nearby (basically all of them have 4+ stars on yelp which is kind of crazy). The bed is comfortable, the room had an AC. The owners are very sweet and the house is very cute itself! Definitely would prefer to stay here again.
I really enjoyed staying here. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, there is a nice space to relax, and a kitchen area with a simple breakfast offered. The location is fantastic! Its a nice quiet spot in Nob Hill, convenient to excellent shops and restaurants. I was able to find neighborhood parking, and walk to most places Id hoped to see in the vicinity. Its such a great value in comparison to hotels in the area. It was probably 105 degrees during my stay, but the room was air conditioned and comfortably cool. If you get confused about procedures or have questions, I recommend calling because the gentleman I spoke with on the phone was very helpful. I will definitely be staying here again!
Love, love, LOVE this place. If youre hesitant because youre thinking, wait, shouldnt I do something "age appropriate" and spend a ton of money on a sterile and boring hotel because "thats what youre supposed to do when youre over 30"--banish that thought, and hit book. This place is lovely. It is so much better than a hotel, and it is cheaper than a lot of the AirBnBs available in Portland. It is super clean, the managers are DELIGHTFUL (and always available to help), and we hardly ran into another soul, even though I think the other two rooms on our floor also had people staying. It was honestly like we were staying in our own home. We never had bathroom wars, everyone is quiet and respectful, and you honestly cannot beat the location. Steps away from NW 23rd and the streetcar, plus at least two buses that easily take you into the other quadrants of Portland, or downtown. We had a phenomenal stay, and I will NEVER stay anywhere else when I visit Portland.
Some friends recommended we stay here during our visit to Portland. We are really glad we did!We rented the apartment for the week, which included a kitchen, living area and a bedroom separated by french doors. The space was basic, but nice. Some observations:The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a heater and a small but nifty shower. The toilet is a little close to the wall if youre a bigger person. The price is reasonable, and the nearby area is full of great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. The best part of staying there was the service from the property manager. He made us feel so welcome when we first got there and throughout our stay. You wont regret staying here!
Not sure what the person below is blathering about....they must have gotten this place confused with some of the less appealing guesthouses in the area. The owner is being truthful......their website is among the LEAST misleading I have ever seen, it shows you exactly what to expect. This is a great, clean, centrally located and affordable guesthouse that is well run and smack in the middle of NW Portlands Alphabet District. Its very affordable, has lovely extras like a stocked fridge and plenty of magazines in a comfortable lounge complete with TV and free local calls. Its not the Benson, but it costs less than half what comparable accommodations in the area cost, and it feels homey and genuine....we love it and stay here all the time.
Was very dissapointed with this place. Not worth what we paid. Really not any shipper than hotels. No air conditioner, the bathroom was not that clean. Thought the pictures are very misleading. Beds are really hard. Do not recommended.
This is where we always stay in Portland. The rooms are clean and simple, and the owners stay out of the way (they dont live on-site). When you reserve, you get a passcode to let you in. Excellent location and inexpensive.
