Portfolio restaurant in Prague
Description
Privilege
This place pretends to be a high-end restaurant. The wine is no older than 2 years is not very good, especially for the price, and does not match the meals. The meals feel like a random combination of different ingredients. Putting random items together does not make the restaurant high-end.
MoreElegant location, perfect service, intriguing menu and a wide choice of fine wines. Blue ribbon for the server, who suggested us an interesting match food/wine that enhanced at best the food that was simply delicious. Special mention for the attention to gluten free solutions: gluten free options are marked on the menu, but they offered to modify one of the other choices to make it gluten free for me.Delicious, 10/10 would recommend.
MoreThis was such a pleasant surprise. Near our hotel - The Marriott- we stumbled upon this and walked in to a well decorated restaurant. We reviewed the menu and saw a prix fixe option that looked intriguing. Many courses later, we agreed that this was one of the finest meals I had enjoyed.Beautiful presentation, interesting flavors and great service. Kudos!!
MoreReally a “must eat in Prague” place I ate ceviche and duck and they were excellent. Last but not least a fair price for the food and service (excellent tooquality!!!
MoreAmazing experience! Food was delicious and service was impeccable! My passion fruit drink was fantastic! Ivana was a pleasure! Thank you Portfolio!
MoreOutstanding! I have to say, time and again I find European modern cuisine a step above American approachable fine dining standards. This was excellent every bite through and that is often the thing I really hope for. Starters, entree, dessert, wine; all a solid 5 stars. I felt the service, the welcome, the approach all to be of a high standard and deserving of praise. When you get it right you get it right. I don’t think I need to describe the ingredients or anything else other than to say this is the finest meal I’ve had in Eastern Europe to date. Top 10 meals!
Moreyellow tuna starter was goated but everything went just slightly mid tier from there xc; the tasting menu is totally worth its price if all the items interest you by the way!
MoreLast time when I came here few years back, I tried the tasting menu, but this time, my friends and I went for the dishes on the menu. Food was amazing, the steak(although it looks burnt in the picturewas perfectly cooked, and the desert actually wanted me and my friends to start from appetizers again. And we had Czech wine, white and red, and they were quite pleasing as well.Staff here are extremely friendly and professional, and definitely, a must visit place in Prague.
MoreThe food is amazing. Everything was tasty. The sauces beyond the expectations. We didn’t take tasting menu, few starters and 2 main dishes to share. And all of them was great. Very nice staff and perfect atmosphere. Highly recommended.
MoreWent for a birthday treat. Had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely decor/surroundings. Wonderful service.
MoreCurrently one of the best Prague restaurants. Our servers (particularly the Slovakian Ladywere fantastic and the food was awesome. I do recommend you ask for a table downstairs as the ambiance there is more pleasant than on the street level. We shall be back one day. Thank you.
MoreMy First visit was yesterday, and definitely not last - specially the fish of today (candatwas the highlight of the dinner. I can’t describe it any better than spring on plate. All the staff was really friendly, helpful. The restaurant it’s self wasn’t too noisy what make perfect place for my work meeting.I’ll be definitely back
MoreActually I was very skeptical at the entrance as most of the items on the menu didnt sound special at all.I changed my mind right after my first bite of the appetizers. Ended up ordering 4 course meals with desserts and wine. The staff was absolutely fantastic and helpful. Awesome recommendation for dinner experience. One thing though: If its typical Czech food youre after, try somewhere else. Otherwise you will be delighted.
MoreOne of the best restaurants Ive eaten in around the world. Staff were very friendly and helped with any questions we had and the food was true to its Michelin star. Very large selection of wines with a good mix of local and Europen food and drinks just perfect.
MoreUnForgetful moment here. Best food and service in Prague
We had the chance to eat in this restaurant on the 12/02 and took the tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was perfect. The food was very tasty and the personal very kind and professional. Congratulations to the Chef and to our waitress Valerie that night !Our Prague experience will definitely be associated with that delightful moment.
MoreMy girlfriend and I had a wonderful meal here. Food was Michelin star quality with excellent service and really nice quality wine. My duck was cooked to perfection and we found the restaurant atmospheric without being pretentious. The portion sizes were generous for fine dining and I would definitely return in the future. Thanks for a lovely evening.
MoreThe staff were excellent, attentive and friendly. They provided first class service. The food was beautiful, both in terms of taste and presentstion. The atmosphere was lovely. I cant fault anything
MoreValerie was amazing! She took care of us for the whole evening and she was simply stunning!!! She did a perfect service. Thank you so much for making our evening amazing. We will come back for sure!
MoreWhat an delicious dinner! My wife had the sampling menu hence the small sized portions in some pictures. I had the shrimps, steak and cheesecake. Would definitely come back
MoreThis restaurant is of high class and lived up to all of our expectations! The service is sublime, the food of a very high quality and the wine pairing is a joy to the pallet.I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who cares for the best .I will definitely visit this place again!Thank you Portofolio and all of your team.
MoreHighly recommend. We tried the tasting menu and it blew us away. Very delicious, perfect quality. Service was excellent and they made us feel very relaxed and comfortable there.Definitely try the octopus! 🤤
MoreTo be honest we had a hard day , we was tired and don’t expect that much from the Dinner. But This Restaurants safed our day. The food was excellent, the staff was very attentive and nice! I am working in hospitality business and have to say you deserve a second Michelin Star guys!
MoreOverall good. The service is particularly good. Quite large portion. I wouldnt be able to finish the 5-course tasting menu. A bit pricy for the Prague standard, but its good food and atmosphere.
MoreA great experience here. We did not expect it to be so accommodating with a little one. They tried their best to keep him entertained so everyone feel relax. Explained in detail about each dishes, very good understanding of their own wine list too. Price are quite reasonable given the services and quality of food. It might not look much on the photos but we were quite full by the time we are out of the door. Highly recommended and we will be back if we were to visit Prague again.
MoreThe tasting menu with accompanying wine is incredible. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Went for mum’s 60th and they gave us our own private dining room. Marek the waiter was so knowledge and lovely.
MoreAmazing restaurant, the service and the fresh fish were delicious. Nice clean environment. Highly recommended.
MoreNice restaurant, waiters made sure the temperature was comfortable for us. Great food as you would expect from a restaurant in the Michelin guide but nothing memorable.
MoreThe service was amaizing. Best Saint Jacques i ever had. The meat was perfectely cooked and the side dishes and sauces verry well combined.
MoreThe tasting menu is solid all around; creative dishes, unique plating, and all very well prepared. Service is professional and courteous. A terrific evening
MoreDuring our city trip in Prague we visited several restaurants. We like to explore cuisine so much. Portfolio restaurant really satisfied all our wishes. Our host Michael was kind, helpful and made sure that we felt good. Together with the chef he made sure that my vegetarian wife could experience the tasty option with 5 courses. And even the wine pairing was adjusted to her specific dish. I took the regular tasty experience and was overwhelmed with the finest taste of all the courses. All the dishes were served on different selected plates. And the wine matching was perfect .All this in combination with the wonderful atmosphere resulted in a deserved 5 stars. Another very interesting detail: they adjusted the price for the vegetarian tasty experience because no meat and fish are included which makes it cheaper. René and Menekşe.
MoreGood quality of ingredient, taste is ok, complimentary bread is one things that i think, they should improve, only one type of bread served, soup is a little salty but others are ok. restaurant decoration is great.
MoreI really enjoyed the degustation menu with 6 courses! Each of them was very cleverly combined and assembled together. The meat was tender and amazing. The wine pairing was also cleverly put together and went with each dish perfectly.Overall I had a great experience!
MoreMy husband, friends and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at Portfolio last week. We all had the tasting menus with wine pairings, and even though my husband and I are both vegetarian, we were catered for beautifully. We had a wonderful time! The only comment I would make is that we were given a cheese plate and extra wine which there was no mention of being charged for, so perhaps the waiting staff could communicate things more clearly in future. We will definitely be back!
MoreFine dining near the train stations in a modern setting. The service was professional friendly and helpful - The best we experienced in Prague. The tasting menu was a winner. The goat cheese croquettes with quince was lovely, and the house grain bread was absolutely delicious. My favorite meal here.
MoreWe had a dinner there that was quite a journey - suprisingly good connections od different products, aromas and textures. Seasonly with class.
MoreWe really enjoyed our time here. The food was excellent. We had the saddle of lamb and the beef chest. Both were very tender, the lamb especially so. It was so succulent it just melted in your mouth. Service was very good and the sommelier offered good advice on the selection of wines that were available. Definitely would recommend.
MoreGreat food and service! The stamp from "Michelen" is at the door and well deserved. The food was excellent and the waiters really knew what they were doing 👍
MoreIncredible meal, this would have been exceptional at twice the price. The marinated pineapple dessert, lamb, and veal were standouts. The service was inpeccable, and the decor is classy while relaxed. This compares very favorably with restaurants with multiple Michelin stars, truly a spectacular experience.
MoreThe food is perfect as well as the service. I enjoyed my lunch and will definitely come again. The moment when I feel the warm plate of the main course I know it will be tasty.
MoreVery nice food, great for lunch as well dinner. Tasting menu only served in the evenings.Update: after 2nd visit I can say this is becoming one of my favourite places in Prague. Can’t wait to go again.
MoreThe best fine dining restaurant in Prague. We went to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday, had a tasting course and all food were perfect. Service, food plating, presentation and atmosphere were also excellent!
MoreReally nice fine dining restaurant! Visited this restaurant week ago, we had reservation and highly recommend to make it if you want to Portfolio because restaurant was quite full.Service was excellent, waiter was telling facts about every food and wine and everything was very professional.Prices are high but not too high. Price for 5 course tasting menu and wine pairing was about 110€
Morevery good food, you wouldnt be disappointed... would recommend tasting menu. Really liked the lamb tartar, veal and vension. The Czech wine was also really good by glass.
MoreAmazing chefs restaurant. Food is of the highest quality and taste. The breads they serve is heaven. The lamb tartar is one of the best diahes Ive had. The catfish fillet was also superb and perfectly done. You can skip the brownies desert, it is mediocre. The prices are on the higher level of Prague standard off course, but extremely attractive for that kind of food (we paid around 2200 czk for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 deserts, water and a glass of wine). Highly recommended! (Unless you are a vegetarian/vegan or dont like mean or fish). Also note that the menu is quiete limited (as with most high end restaurants), so those who are problematic with food might not find something to order. Extremely recommended!
MoreBooked this last minute on the day for the dinner service. Managed to get in at 6pm so the restaurant was still relatively empty. Great service and amazing food and wine pairings. By the time I was done the restaurant was absolutely full so I was super lucky to get a table at all.
MoreThe food is really good and the service is extremely high level. For Prague the dishes are quite pricey but definitely worth every penny. Ohh and they serve the best orange bread ever.
MoreWe came here for dinner at 5 p.m. so there was a free table for us. But you really need a reservation if you want to eat dinner!! This restaurant is so fine and chic!! The food, the service, everything was awesome! We had 2 great starters, veal and ombrina fish for main course, and the creme brulee for dessert. We dont have anything to complain about this great dinner and the nice stay at this place. We strongly recommend it!!!!
MoreThe home made lemonade was ok. The soup of the day as starter disappointed me a little. Noodles topped with some chicken meat and the soup was poured onto them after it was served on the table. As for the main course I ordered monkfish, which was totally awesome and juicy. I highly recommend it. The dessert was aesthetically pleasing but maybe it was because I had some nice traditional Czech sweets that morning, the taste of this one didnt surprise me at all. Overall the experience of dining there was good. Just made the "right" decision.
MoreWe had our best meal at Portfolio during our four-day Prague stay. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. It had modern deco and was not too loud. Our waiter was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine. We enjoyed the local Merlot wine he recommended. For starters, we had grilled octopus and seared scallops. Both dishes were beautifully plated, very tender, and flavorful. My husbands venison fillet main course was masterly done. However, the sauce for my red fish was a bit too salty. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he sent it back to the kitchen immediately. And in five minutes, I had the perfect entree. If you like fine dining in a casual amersphere, I highly recommend this place.
