Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve - Nature reserve in Bristol, United Kingdom
Good hide. Good walk round the lake. Got lost but that added to the fun!
There wasn’t an awful lot to see when we were there on a warm summer day. Mainly seagulls and jackdaws. No swans or ducks. Free parking at the end of wharf lane which had availability.
GT place to visit
Nice place to go for a walk,a run or cycle.Nature reserve near Portishead. There are a few bird hides that can be used too.EDF energy Hinckley point are digging the area up so it looks a bit of a mess until they hurry up and disappear.Great for picnics.
Very dissaponted, again. I am going with camera and bioculaers to see birds. We park at the end of Warf Lane, and make the mistake of going left; so the first time we were going away from the lagoons into the work being done on power lines; the second time we walk for an hour on paths line with trees and hefdges with no views, to end up at Portbury. Apparantly we should have turned right halfway. No signage, even on a gate to a small hide discovered on the way back; "hide" and an arrow would be useful. Saw some shovellers (worth three stars). So, maps that tell you where you are and where the hides are, and signs that direct you to areas and features; please.
I love a walk around here.
A lovely place for a walk
Mud galore
Lovely place and lots to do. Very scenic
Passed through it
Not nice at all just waste land
Plenty of wild birds and waterfowl to see and a nice walk as well. Hopefully the hides will soon be open again.
Lots of different footpaths so not too busy. Sadly the hides over the nature reserve were full of rubbish, cans and broken bottles so we couldnt use them.
Brilliant natural place for abundant wildlife. I only hope the NG will not disturb it unduly.
Great place besides the severn estuary for birding and a midweek visit is usually fairly quiet.
The place is lovely to have some fresh air and lovely for walks with the dog
Good walks nice and dry lots of bird lookout huts. Onto seawall for great views of severn bridges.
Great for a walk or bike ride with the family
Great place for a brisk walk. Plenty of wildlife and migrating birds to be seen.
The closeness to wildlife
Excellent walk shame about the dog poo on the pathways
Very nice
Its so peaceful beautiful place and with all the birds
Great bird spotting family bike ride
Great reserve for birds, plants and insects. Several bird hides overlooking pools and salt marsh.
Popular, especially weekends, but always plenty of nature seemingly undisturbed by us visitors
Very peaceful, loved by walkers, runners, cyclists and bird watchers. Never feels crowded, unless you run across my walking group! A beautiful place, spacious and relaxing.
A peaceful haven.
Peace. Walks. Wildlife and more
Nice place to walk
Local oasis of calm. Easy walking
Went to visit an Auntie who lives nearby. Really nice to see all the different types of birds it has.
Quiet place for a nature walk containing ponds and sea.
Love this place, fab for a walk with the kids (pretty flat so not too much complaining). The bird hides a fantastic to watch some of the local wildlife close up, have bird spotting competition with kids, great place to pass an hour or so easily.
