Busy harbor on the Amazon River filled with cargo & cruise ships, colorful vendors & food stalls.

We spent two days in this area shopping and eating. The market offered great food and gifts. The people were very friendly and helpful.

A bit of a confusing place if you do not know it. Better to ask for help. Personally, I like the chaos.

This place needs urgent of reforme!!!
Exceptional. Most original in the world. It was less busy though when I saw it years ago whatever the reason being.
Nice area to visit with the fish, fruit and greens market, Here you can see local people at work bring in massive loads of produce, fruits and fish along with a curio market. It is the biggest market in Manaus a must stop. Update : the port is having a face-lift 26Oct 2021 new railings, new center dividers all sidewalk vendors are gone at this time for the remodeling. Very nice upgrade.
Manaus is a beautiful city with awesome people!

Water level is very high...
Youre able to see some logistics and trades and also have some fun while watching lots of boats coming and going. Its pretty nice. You can also see some pink dolphins around looking for food.
Well organized port with basic facilities such as clean toilets and food court. Passenger have the option to purchase boat tickets from the port agency or directly on the boat. Departure tax is R$ 5.-.
Sadly run down and crumbling relic of Portuguese colonialism. Not geared to tourists, very few nice restaurants or bars. Many street hawkers and, sadly, beggars. Was advised to stick to the main streets for safety.
We took an interesting excursion provided by Viking. There is a lot of crime in the city, so we were advised against self walking tours
Great shopping. Not a very clean city. Very crowded
So close to the city and 🛍 shopping.
Sunday morning very busy, pharmacy inside, port fee super cheap (5R$clean and nice view
Bus y working pork, garage dice stocked next to ship with a lot of trash in the scow and in the water
Need to take a shuttle out of restricted area, but an adventure.
The shuttle service is nice. Youre not allowed to walk from the boat too the terminal.
It is great and impressive to be in the Amazon. But dont get fooled by the photos of the famous opera. Thats almost all there is in Manaus. Dont expect a beautiful city. But the atmosphere with the enormous river is very special and worth a visit.
I was in a rush to get to my Airbnb but I noticed two pretty odd things. First, there were policemen dressed as civilians. They just tell you to open your bags and thats it, they didnt ask me for my documents or anything else, they barely look at you (in my case I was by myself so Im guessing it was suspicious to them). Second, I didnt find any restroom. You will see a rather small two story building resembling a mall but without much signs. As I said I was in a hurry. It was getting dark and I wanted to shower and sleep really bad. The 4 day ship trip from Tabatinga to Manaus was exhausting for me.
Very run down major port. Did not feel comfortable at all
It is an important place connecting capital Manaus with fluvial cities and communities. It is also the main starting point for tours around the river.
Guides are bilingual, the design of the floating port to adjust with changing water levels is very cool.
One of the busiest ports I’ve seen, because the most common form of transport to access river communities is by boat. Seems quite organized and clean.
Nice. Lots of ways to go, especially on local boats and tours. Which are also quite nice. Rather scenic location.
Very nice Port and safety is the important are really good....just be careful when you go out the terminal area.....
Amazing town in the Amazon. Rustic and gateway to the Amazon as. Nice to see a lot of native Americans
I thought Brazil was a booming economy Menus needs a good clean up
I love this place. It is worth going there just for the markets. The feiras are huge and filled with local produce fresh and beautiful. And the people are generally nice.
Badly managed, empty terminal. It is a pity really. Every year I come back and the place looks more run down. Absurd tariff for visiting cruise ships.
An interesting port with lots of activity, dont wear jewellery while leaving the safety of the port and watch for pickpockets!
Shuttle from cruise port, works fine. We walked from terminal into town. Nice day. No problem
Map of manaus is wrong have known about that and manaus is famous of shoes so when you will go then dont forget to buy shoes when I had gone I had also buy shoes best of luck and you should know from here two river pass one is simious and other is nigro nigro is fresh water River and simious is dirty water and from here Amazon start 😂
Not much to do around here. Hard to find a decent coffee shop or restaurant. Good place if youre shopping for Brazilian shoes.
Incorrect Place in Google Maps. Take care, the place where Google maps is indicating is empty an unsafe. The right place is near to the municipal market. Take care!
