A 1930s-era gas station now houses this gay bar with a tiny dance floor, outdoor patio & fire pit.
Pony in Seattle
Description
Great
Dont come here for the drinks. Its not their strength. I had the wine, it tasted like very citric feet.
MoreBest bar on the hill! Great community, fantastic staff and owners that care!
this place is so great theres
This is my favorite bar in Seattle. I like to go for happy hour drinks. It’s pretty small inside too and can get loud. I’m looking forward to going again post Covid-19
MoreHip music with edgy, almost five bar feel. Love it !
Capitol Hills diviest gay bar. Its like they transported a gay dive bar from the 70s and put it on capitol hill and thats a good thing. The bar is an escape from all things amazon and tech bros. Its also the home to seattles tiniest tea dance on Sundays. If you are planning on going on the weekends show up early because the bar gets super packed by 10 or 11
MoreThe service was lax.... The bartender was more concerned about where to have people order from rather than say hi.
MoreExcellent gay bar. Not "lady safe."
Cute dirtgler place.
Awesome service, great staff, fun theme. Hands down, my fave gay bar in Seattle. Gets a little crowded but the drinks are good, bartenders are friendly, and the clientele is fun.
MoreThe drinks were incredibly cheap compared to other places. The fire pit outside is nice, they should add another.
MorePony is an small bar with a loud vibe. Enjoy the GH in the bathroom or a strong drink on the patio either way youll have a great time. The bar decor is half the reason to come out and explore.
MoreI loved Pony. It is a very unique place and carries beer thats about as alcohol loaded as a cocktail. The patio is a great place to spend some time, especially around the firepit. I hope this place stays open for a really really long time. Would definitely visit again. Hopefully Ill find another $100 bill on the floor outside the bar like I did last time!
MoreI waited in line to buy my friends a round of drinks. When I was next up, the bar tender yelled/swore at me like I cut the line. It was so off putting I decided not to get any drinks. Judging by the rest of the 1 star reviews here, bartender was upset maybe because I’m a straight female and not a gay man. Really not cool.
MoreMy favourite gay bar of all time. Patio is great especially in the colder months
This bar is easily in my top three bars in the entire world. The music is always on point, especially if you have good taste. The bartenders pour amazing drinks, and are always incredibly welcoming to queer and queer allies. The balcony is the best place to spend an evening or an afternoon. This place is for all of you out there who have an edge, whatever that may be. No top 40!
MoreUnfortunately myself and 4 friends were not allowed in because we had skateboards. We really had high hopes because of the good reviews, and we asked if we could store them in the back somewhere, but they just asked us to leave. It’s too bad, as we really had high hopes, but I’ll be sure to tell my friends not to visit.
MoreHated the bouncer. So rude. Attacked at me with no reason. Think this is a norm in todays trump-usa. Advising to avoid this venue.
MoreI enjoyed this bar. The bartender was really nice, the wine was good (and cheap since it was happy hour), plus the outside fire pit was super nice on the cool/dreary day I stopped in.
MoreSuch a fun venue! It says its a gay mens club but lesbians and trans are welcome too! There are friends events here, such as fetish nights, leather nights, SEA-PAH socials, puppyplay moshes and more.Check them out if youre in the area for a drink, bar food, or just to meet some fantastic people in a huge space!Theyre open late and have awesome music, a dance floor, so many things.Go already!
MoreSuper friendly queer crowd, I definitely felt at home and safe there. The drinks are cheap and they have Karaoke on Tuesdays! Prepare yourself for some obscure taste in music (which I absolutely love!and have fun singing along. Definitely my favourite bar!
More💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Don’t go here. Staff turned on us because they weren’t keen on having a large, mixed (girls, guys, gaysgroup in and having to do some work on a Tuesday night when they’d expected it to be quiet. We’re all still trying to work out why we suddenly got asked to leave now! Definitely a local bar for local people only. The only reason we can think of is one their regulars who was stoned out of her mind got a bit paranoid all of a sudden and didn’t want anyone she didn’t know in the bar! Outsiders certainly are not welcome! Loads of far nicer, more inclusive, more welcoming bars within a few minutes walk of here!!
MoreSince when does "Dive Bar" mean that the staff need showers and can get away with being inattentive, though surly when they are attending? Ive been there four times total, and each time this place seemed pretty consistent with my opening statement. Not my worst experience at a Public House but far from my best and I doubt Ill be going back unless someone I truly care for or admire insists. Not likely.
MorePony has a really mixed queer crowd in a warm friendly atmosphere. The location is cool too. Its on a traffic island in a former gas station. The bar is small but weird and fun and the outdoor area is pleasant. Its my favorite bar in Seattle.
MoreGreat location, though the bartenders seem to favor Daddy and Bear type of guys and will generally be friendlier and pour more for them.
MoreI didnt leave a negative review the first time I was screamed at for "not tipping" a couple of years ago (aka he didnt see I put cash in the tip jar since I think the tenders usually prefer thatbut last night the bartender was just a complete jerk. Sixth in line I knew exactly what I wanted to order and ordered for my friend and myself. I spoke as loudly as I could to the bartender (left side white tank topand he poured one drink correctly and then the poured the 2nd (was supposed to be vodka tonicas a vodka diet. Instead of just simply remaking the drink, he threw the drink down the sink and then yelled at me saying I need to learn how to speak up. I was speaking as loudly and as clearly as I could and yet he literally set the tone for the entire rest of the evening. We left after one drink and went to Madison Pub which actually has friendly bartenders and make you feel at home, which I think, youre supposed to feel comfortable at a gay bar.I spent my money elsewhere and encourage anyone else to do the same, especially as I read through several other recent 1 star reviews. I get it, nights can be busy and stressful, I bartended and served tables for three years. That doesnt mean you have to be angry all of the time to the patrons who keep your bar open
MoreJust the ticket, lowkey, sleazy friendly
Love it! Seventies man porn wallpaper, dangling paper mache penises, go go dancers, great corner view overlooking Capitol Hill, fun and inclusive place.
MoreAwesome service and friendly staff. Not to mention some of the best drinks in town. Gotta love the outdoor fire pit along with being one of the few bars with a patio and a view on Cap. Hill..
MoreYes
I just wanted to write to you about our experience at Pony on 3/14. Two of us visiting from out of state and heard Pony was an interesting bar - which we both liked the atmosphere. However, the bartenders that night were not the nicest group of guys and seemed to have cared less if we were there while leaving us waiting during their personal conversation. I’m not writing about your atmosphere or the drinks - it was the lack of caring by the bartenders that night. I wouldnt waste my time visiting again.
MoreCame with a group of friends, gay and straight. The one straight couple in the mix was asked to leave because their "heterosexuality was not welcome." This is not what my lgbtq community stands for. The rest of the crowd there is never friendly, doesnt matter how pretty or friendly you are. Bartenders are rarely friendly, and the go go dancers keep getting grosser. Used to go all the time so I know it isnt just a "bad night," wont be back.
MoreFun n eclectic
Its Pony or bust as far as gay bars go.
Been here many times. The place is fun, the patio great. Some of the people who work there suck, real big attitudes. Wont be returning.
MoreOne of my favorite queer spaces on capitol hill. With the gay scene disappearing on capitol hill. I feel very privileged to have such a gem left in our community.
MoreSeattles gayest bar! This is a local favorite. I personally like to come here not on the weekends to sit on the patio and chill with friends.Cheap drinks and hilariously fun vibes make this place so lovable! I wouldnt change a thing about this place, except maybe making it bigger and adding more restrooms to accommodate larger crowds on the weekends.
MoreHot boys and good drinks. Wish they had a dance floor for when they have djs
Bartenders werent friendly at all, ruined an otherwise fun experience at this bar. Theyre probably much nicer to guys.
MoreWhen everyone says its a gay bar with a nod to yesteryear; it truly is that. There are porn magazines printed in the 70s/80s which is a whimsical variation on the screens mounted in other bars. The drinks were good and patio area was comfy. Ill be back for sure.
MoreFun to go on a sunny sunday afternoon/even in the summer when it gets crowded. Bachelorette parties are explicitly not welcome here either.
MoreAs a local queerdo, this is my favorite spot.
Queers and great music. This is my spiritual homeland. Awesome staff just makes it even better.
Morefavorite gay bar
Extremely rude. Ugly girl dancing on bar. Uglier drag queen took our chairs so she might get tips. We were there early for seats. Tipped bad and will never go back.
MoreActually probably the best bar on the hill at the moment. Retro without being too contrived.
MoreWOW. Great Music. Cliche, Tom of Finland, re-creation of a gay bar from the 70s(Minus the cop sirens and escape tunnels). Most times this bar is actually frequented by local straight college students as an ODDITY adventure. Here, most people sequester themselves in small groups that dont interact with each other. If you go solo here... It doesnt matter how pretty or interesting you are, dont go solo here. You will literally have to step on someones foot to strike a convo. Been here several times over the years so Im not just a one time mad man.Also.. Nasty Disposition Door man towed my car from the lot without asking anybody inside whos car it was. WTF!? Food truck out front was smashed 18" from both signs in front. Only cost $181.00. Not bad, Eh!?FIST FULL OF ATTITUDE.BYOF<-------- Bring Your Own Friends if you can. Or go somewhere Else that isnt FakeO.
MoreCrowded when its fun, vacant when its not. The deck is the best.
