Pontypridd Museum - Museum in Rhondda, United Kingdom
A small but interesting museum.
A well maintained, with lots of visual information
Went to a art show in pontypridd museum what an interesting place full of pontypridd history amazing artifacts well worth a visit 😀
It was closed
Attended for a meeting. Suitable venue and appeared to be well used.
Last year we had wanted to visit this place as well as have our session at the lido ponty but it was closed as it got flooded in 2020 in the February just before everything shut down in the March which was shocking! The museum itself is an old converted methodist church building and its only a small museum and open weekdays only and in the basement there is a meeting space as well as the story of the floods of February 2020!There is the history of the old mining community in there as well and how the town grew up through the old coal mines there. We decided last year to rearrange to come and see the museum another time when it was open again and that we did as well!
Been to a few exhibitions there..small space....but worth a visit
Always activities for the kids.... and usually for the adults too..
Good history about the valleys
A beautiful museum right next to the Pontypridd historic bridge. Converted from an old chapel it has many interesting displays about the history of the area. A lovely assistant on the entry desk and a small shop of local and welsh items for sale at reasonable prices. A place I would highly recommend.
Great place to host an event, plenty of open space. Lots of cultural links with the town. walking distance to the highstreet.Multi story parking across the road, less than 100m from the bus station.
Small local museum that often has events going on. Check out the mural downstairs above the kitchen. There is an upstairs with some really cool stuff as well
Excellent heritage spot in pontypridd. Very interesting and good exhibits on local life.
Well worth a visit. Excellent museum in the centre of Pontypridd.
I was there to give a talk so didnt see much of the museum. Will go again as I only live a few miles away.
It was small but still worth to visit. I liked upstairs and wedding area.
More going on here than just exhibitions. Great public service.
Amazing holiday activities for all ages
Had a fantastic visit there and bought a lovely piece of art it is well worth a visit for locals and visitors
A beautiful museum right in the heart of Pontypridd. Well worth a visit for an afternoon out. Do checkout their website though as there are loads of events and you dont want to miss out!!
There isnt any free parking nearby but its relatively inexpensive. The museum is free and hosts different exhibitions throughout the year. A gem for local history; the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. There is space downstairs that is available for hire, which is used by many local community groups. An interesting place to visit.
A great little insight into the history of Pontypridd.
Just spent a wondeful hour in this nice little museum, some great exhibits and really helpful staff. If you are in Pontypridd, talk a walk over the old bridge and admire the views and then take a look arounf the museum. I would suggest using the rear stairs, the view of the banners as you reach the top os very good and remember to look up so that you can see the ceiling.
Looks good from outside. Not yet had the pleasure of visiting inside. I hope to one day to see if they can teach me anything new about the Welsh heritage. Driven past many times but never seen anyone going in or coming out. The door has been open on the other hand. Parking is probably the major issue for this place.
No parking, but theres a pay+display multi storey on the Ynysybwl road. Museum is housed in a wonderful old chapel adjacent to what was once the longest single span bridge in Europe.
A good small museum, a cornerstone of Pontypridd.
Great piece of local history and holds great community events and societies
Great little museum and art exhibition well worth a visit the upstairs section is fab
Brilliant good place take family very education, love it.
Ponty museum is a typical small town museum in an industrial area. There is everything you would expect and very little to surprise you. A converted chapel that still teaches you something of worship in the valleys without being in your face. The building is also home to various social groups. The curator is an accomplished historian in his own right, so it is well worth a visit.
Small museum next to the oldest bridtin Wales.
Took my mother to the WI meeting. We were lucky enough to hear a group of school children from Pontsion Norton Primary sing. They were outstanding and sang beautifully. My mother was overjoyed to hear them. We also Mansi Ty get another copy of "Lest we forget" edited by David Maddox.
Got there to see the steam museum and we were a day early. Got my grandson out his stroller who is 30 months to stretch his legs while I had a little wonder round as Im not from Wales (my grandson is autistic and was told by a very sturn lady at the desk. He cant go in there its not open. All he was doing was walking round in circles in a empty room. He cried when I had to put him back in his stroller. Did not feel welcome at all.
All your local history in one small building. Good place to spend an hour.
Small but lovely. Staff so friendly and they absolutely dote on my children when we visit. Lovely little train model operates with a 10p that my son adores.

What a lovely place to while away a couple of hours. Lovely and quiet, away from all the hustle and bustle of the shopping centre. Pity it didnt have a little café/tearoom.
