Magnificent! Great story to the bridge itself, and lovely souvenir shops after crossing. You can easily go down to walk along the Fluviá River too.

The bridge is everything the internet says it is. While it may not be worth going so far just for the bridge, once combined with a day trip from Girona to Cadaques incl Figueres (and Castellfollit if possiblethen its a wonderful place. Takes just 30 mins to see the small area that Besalu is but quaint, with huge fish in the river below and throw in a gelato to make it complete.

Enjoyed the circus museum very interesting. A lovely place but needs signs giving directions back to coach park as lots of little side streets.

Nice view for the family. Small Town, located in Catalunia, Geronde easy to do by foot. A little bit challenging with a troller, but doable. You will find a lot a souvenir shops with small budget items 👍The lovely view really give you that medieval town vibe. The bridge has been up since the XII century !

If you are interested in exploring Catalunya this place should be on your list for sure.

A lovely ancient town with the most amazing bridge, some very nice shops and cafes and a little land train that takes you around the most interesting areas, the only down side was the commentary was only in French.Well worth a visit.

Medieval city of Besalu also known as the city of chairs. Lots of history and cobbled streets make this a charming place to visit.

I loved Basalù ,magic small pueblo ,kept it original , I booked the turiam office guide,they should remove the part of the video doesnt bring anything to the visit

Nice medieval city, walk over the bridge and through the medieval gate.Enjoy the views from the fortress wall.Have a cafe con leche in the small city centre.And….. free parking.Did i say there is free parking?

One of the best free experience of the summer, splendid village. Visit done in the late evening, animations on the central place, and lower. Numerous restaurants.

Small medieval town with full draw bridge tight streets cafes and restaurants

Such a nice medieval town and worth a visit if your in the area. The Roman bridge is the star of the show and makes the walk into town feel grand. The streets are cozy and lots of stalls and restaurants. There is a circus museum in town and also a circus event that start at 9pm which you can buy tickets from the circus museum office box but may only be a summer event.

Pretty bridge, but not much to do there except shop and look around. Fun for maybe an hour but not much more

Nice little village within castle walls with a great bridge to enter!

This IA a very nice place to visit. The people were all friendly and walking around the midevil streets was a lot of fun.

Amazing, must visit Medieval town! Cozy little lanes, medieval structures makes you feel like being in old times! Many cafes, souvenir shops, and mesmerizing view. Just 9km from the Castellfollit de la Roca so one can cover bothe places within half day.

Its really a beautiful place indeed and worth to visit. The city offers you a middle age atmosphere and enchants you!

Beautiful medieval bridge with access to an small historic town which worth a visit.

This is such a beautiful little place. There is a pretty village centre with some nice bars and gift shops, but the star attraction is the bridge.There is also good, free car parking.

Magical town to walk around for a few hours. Train ride is €6 and not really worth it. It’s much better to walk around instead. Public toilets are near the tourist information desk but close early at 6.30pm and even earlier on holidays 3.30pm.

Wonderful place to visit near, really worth take the extra time to come here.The town is amazing and the vistas and sunsets on the bridge are totally worth it.

We strolled across and then below the bridge this beautiful bridge on a cloudy autumn day. The ducks were swimming by, used to the people, and the yellow flowers were especially vibrant against the darkening sky. Only drawback was at the area where we reached the lower part by the water smelles rather foul, like sewage. We joked that thus time, its good you cant smell your photos!

Gorgeous location. A few restaurants before you cross the bridge and I noticed one after you cross. Going down the stairs towards the water is a nice scene as well. Picturesque. Quaint town. Close to Girona.

Besalu a pretty medieval town. Beautifully preserved. Spare half a day and it will be well worth your while.

On our ramble southwards towards Barcelona we planned to stay overnight on an area autocaravanes at Besalu. We discovered that this place was the medieval centre of Catalonia and was now a very pretty touristic place to stay. In fact we stayed over for a second night and was treated to the locals having their own entertainment in the streets on the Sunday with music, food and street entertainment. Well worth a visit.

Great experience soaking up old-world charm, visiting shops and eateries. This location had settlers dating from the 1st century A.D. Town and bridge are straight out of Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett!!

Fantastic place to visit! Was recommended to us by locals, not originally on our radar and so glad we came. Would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. A beautiful historic spot, nice and green, flowing water- really nice.

Picturesque old Roman bridge in the town of Besalú. We had a great time walking around town and exploring the stoned streets. There is a river passing by the town and places where you can rest and have a pic nic. This is a must visit if you are in Catalunya around Barcelona.

Cute middle aged town, really lived the fact that there were some souvenir shops selling middle aged toys and clothes as well, this contributes to the atmosphere.We were lucky enough to find ourselves a fair under the pont: ‘under bridge besalu’ which was worth the visit as well with the small foodtrucks.

Such a beautiful medieval town, many beautiful shops and delicious food here, not far from Barcelona or Girona. Theres a small museum in the center of the town exhibits some kind of microscopic carving works, personally I dont suggest you to get in. You can just walking on the small streets and feel the histories of Catalonia.

Beautiful place with many historical monuments, the views from the bridge give you nice landscape and there is many restaurants inside were to have what to eat or just grab an ice cream. Not fees for visite the small town.
