Pom Kitchen - Vegetarian cafe and deli in Sheffield, United Kingdom
Absolutely love this place as a vegan. I was introduced to this place by some fellow vegan friends and now, every time I go to Sheffield (not very often), I end up here. Everything they serve is vegan and it is not only savoury food, they also have a lovely selection of cakes and cookies. Last time I had a Fajita Avocado Aioli Sandwich (see picturewhich was delicious. And it wouldnt have been complete without the dirty oat chai latte. The only thing negative about this place is that theres no indoor seating unfortunately or a toilet. But thats fine as long as youre aware of it. However, in nice weather there are a few seats outside the place.
The most basic things were below average, espresso was very sour and chocolate cookie was so hard as if it’s yesterday’s
Pom Kitchen in Crookes is excellent, but the Pom on Sharrow Vale has had its day. Rude staff, over flowing and messy drinks and flies running around on the cakes and sandwiches. Pretty poor experience.
Delicious vegan sausage roll. Will have to come back!
Went there twice..both times was delicious food and really friendly staff. My girlfriend is vegan and she loves this place. Good job Pom!
Odd place. Food is aesthetic but that is all.Theres no seating so theres no way to practically eat/drink what you just paid for. But its also not packaged apppropriately for take-away either. The staff are really odd. The place is so small that you at eye level with them at all times and they just stare at you. Its really awkward. We walked out with our drinks and it dropped immediately (as its inpractical to eat/drink these without sitting down).Their instagram account is what attracted us to go but the vibe is completely different in-person.
Fairly overpriced for what you get, quite small options and the pastry I had was stale. I like to support vegan businesses as a vegan myself but I would choose somewhere like Gaard over Pom currently.
Great little place. But big on flavours. Had fish finger butty...vege fish. My first...not my last. Can get ice-cream.
Food and drinks were really nice. Great for anyone GF or vegan. Price is a little high for some things.
An adorable vegetarian and vegan shop on Sharrowvale. They have sweet treats, sandwiches, scoop ice cream and more! Everyone was super friendly and explained what was in the drinks. The biscotti shake?! **drool**. Can’t wait to go back and try more!
Beautiful shop inside and out, staff were loving life and you couldnt help but feel it too. Food was great and took away some desserts for the car journey. Worth the a visit, a gem in town!
Yummy Yummy Yummy! Super helpful staff, our first time visiting & they were knowledgeable, friendly & speedy service! Went for a take out brunch, and came away with loads of goodies! Great Coffee, & sustainably packaged!
On the more expensive side for us (were poorbut definitely worth it as a treat. I had to be convinced that they hadnt put dairy cheese in the sandwich and the Mars bar brownie was truly epic. Our least favourite thing was the milkshake but that might be because we love artificial banana flavouring and it wasnt that :P
Great selection of vegan food and drink - breakfast bagel was brilliant and the coffee was good too
Me likey the pom pom bowl! :D Just wish they had indoor dining
We had high expectations and were very disappointed. There was no indoor seating so many of the pictures were misleading. When we entered we werent greeted or even acknowledged and the staff member seemed quite aloof. The cakes on display seemed dry and the one we bought was definitely old as well as being expensive.
I love going to Pom Kitchen and have a hot chocolate or a snack ! Their food is very good and they always have a fancy (and instagrammablehot drink selection !
Lovely environment & lots of options to choose from. However, whenever I visit the staff do not seem to be as positive as they come off on social media. I wouldnt expect them to hug me every time they see me, but a friendly smile or a non judgy look would be appreciated. It just feels awkward because they eye you from head to toe and you can tell theyre not happy to be there. In terms of the actual food & drinks offered, as someone else stated, for the prices you pay more for the aesthetics.
So cute and fun! The hot drinks are to die for! They’re absolutely delicious and a work of art. The place is small but it’s personality is big. Definitely recommend
Im always amazed every time I go here, its a must every time I come to Sheffield. The drinks are switched up all the time and always look and taste amazing. The food is also so tasty, having tried the hot food, sandwiches, and sweet treats, theres nothing I wouldnt recommend!
Everything is very pretty and tastes decent but you pay more for the aesthetics than the actual value of the food. I ordered the Paris hot chocolate and the croissant on top seemed store-bought and the chocolate in itself not great for £5,50. There are cheaper options in Sheffield with actual chocolate and not just cocoa in Sheffield although they are not as pretty. The cakes are tooth-achingly sweet and not so tasty in my opinion. The only one I thought was good and quite original was the rose and pistacchio cake (flatjack?). The vegan savoury food is good and convenient, but there are definitely better options in Sheffield (I had a toasted sandwich). However, it is a good spot for vegans as there are many options and everything is very carefully made.Service is quick and efficient once you place your order. The staff is not very friendly and 2 members of staff ignored me completely when I saluted them and was the only person in the shop.Note that out of the three members of staff I saw, no one was wearing masks. If you are immuno-compromised like me, you would probably not feel safe there.
Very nice hot food and a fantastic array of sweet treats, including many hard-to-find Vegan brands. Free parking outside was thankfully in reasonable supply on a Sunday as a place to eat our lunch because the listings wed seen previously suggested that you can eat in, which wasnt possible on our visit - we presume there may be tables and chairs outside in better weather because there arent any tables inside.
Ordered 2 hot chocolates and a cake, which came to £14.50!!£5.50 for a hot chocolate is far too expensive. Wont be going back at those prices unfortunately.
Great vegan and gluten free products, we tried the doughnuts, macaroons and cinnamon buns, all very good. My daughter was happy with the amount of choice available to her for once
Nice service, healthy and vegan food is a good idea. I hope they open another branch in the city center. I will try again😋
Absolutely beautiful brunch box! Everything was fresh, the fruit was perfect and the pancakes were still warm! Stunning. Really brought the sunshine 🌞
They market themselves as an ‘Aussie inspired cafe’. Went in with high hopes…. Coffee is fine. Not Aussie standards of amazing. They are always super busy with large queues because they make food which is Instagramable. It’s fine but you can do better for a coffee in the area. If you want a cool photo, go here.
Ordered a wrap, a hotdog, and two cans of pop, which came to £20. Waited for 30 minutes and then found out they had forgotten our order. They gave us a cookie to say sorry, but then brought us the wrong food (two hot dogs, no wrap). Been there 45 minutes at this point so just left it. The hot dogs were ok and the staff were nice.
Great foodExpensiveVery poor service by the front main staff, Iv been going here since it opened, the cafe /restaurant was friendly. Then since they changed it to a take away Iv not seen them crack one smile. I go here a lot at one point I went 6 week ends in a row spending minimum £40 each time . But the service was really unfriendly boarder line rude and one time they gave my sister the wrong drink . She was stood outside just about to take a sip from it and the lady with the curly hair came out took it from her hand and said that’s not your drink and went back in side . Literally removed it from her hand without saying anything prior, then just before she turned away she said that’s not your drink! I thought maybe a excuse me , sorry , we have given you the wrong drink . Sorry about that I will take this and get you the right one.is how people operate. Maybe they are so busy they don’t think the service is important. Or maybe they just don’t like my face and are friendly to others who knows. The staff that come out with the food from the back seem to be smiley and friendly. Anyway I do like their food as I am a vegan and it’s hard to come by tasty fresh vegan food or any nice food in Sheffield to be honest. But Iv stopped going here as much as before because the awkward stare as I walk in to order is just strange. Never greeted. It’s just silent each time when I walk in until I order and even when I order it’s not friendly. Very strange . But the food is good and that what I come for at the end of the day
You’d assume that when someone places an order of over £50 & we are during a pandemic, that the food would be to go.Nothing was boxed up at all, the food was nice but the drinks were an absolute mess and a complete disappointment. All the dressing around the drinks is very gimmicky, the cookie dough ended up all over the car on the way home. The hot chocolate was no better than store bought.Definitely not worth the money at all 🤣
Even on a busy Valentines day, takeaway was quick and food/drink was warm and tasty! 💘
Lovely service and incredible drinks abd sweet treats
Saw an Instagram photo of the valentines hot chocolate and thought I would treat my daughter today, so we popped down and got one, they had three different kinds. She had the gingerbread one, she loved it, just as good as the photos I had seen. Also got some cake and a latte, all really good, my latte could have been hotter though. Would recommend for sure and go back. We did have to queue a little however that wasnt a problem.
perfect spot for vegans or anyone that loves great food! If you have a sweet tooth try the oreo cookie brownie!!
The hot chocolates were ace so were the vegan sausage rolls!
We ordered Tokyo Pom Dog and one drink ,can’t believe it’s 100% vegetarian, nice experience, will visit again!
Home of the Pom Dog! An amazing business who have continually adapted throughout 2020 with great success. They offer a fantastic range of vegan brunches, lunches and treats.
Very beautifully presented colourful, tasty, healthy good portioned food! These days its difficult to find such a unique cafe. Atmosphere is great, staff are lovely and plenty of vegan and veggie options :)
Possibly the best vegetarian restaurant in town. We went on a Sunday and the place was packed with young families and veggie lovers. We were lucky to be able to grab the last table before it closed. Generous portion and fresh ingredients. The food was beautifully presented and tasted as lovely as it looked. A little pricy but worth every single penny.
Americano coffee just what one needs. Nice atmosphere, fab vegan and veggie options on the menu too.
Setting and atmosphere were wonderful.Drinks were wonderful.Food would have been wonderful, but it was quite salty, mainly due to extra salt sprinkled on the top, which simply wasnt needed as the food and flavour combinations were already very delicious. The staff were very laid back and thats fine, but that little bit of added smileyness and connectedness with the customer would have been the cherry on top of a great experience.Prices were reasonable, not cheap, not expensive, but you did get excellent portion sizes. When considering portions and the quality of everything, the value is actually rather excellent and we were very happy. Will definitely visit again. With a couple of minor tweaks this place could be a 5* out of 5.Well done to Pom for creating a wonderful little place that we would highly recommend 😁
Very pretty place and nice food, but the service was quite poor. We sat for 20 minutes and eventually went to the counter to order. Our smoothie and cappuccino were nice, but the boiled eggs we ordered never arrived. After 40 minutes of waiting we had to leave, and while the waitress did take the order off the bill without any fuss it was a bit disappointing.
Lovely food. Good relaxed vibe. Great place for brunch or lunch!... and very colourful too.
food choice was really good, especially if youre vegan or vegetarian!! the staff were friendly and the look and feel of the whole place was really lovely. my only issue is I would have liked a few more drinks options such as orange juice etc especially since i went for breakfast. but otherwise a lovely place and would definitely go back
Awesome veggie and vegan food. Light but filling, great portion to price ratio. Something a bit different, in a good way.
Yummmmmieeee, everything! Take the platter and the banana bread!
I found the place strolling around the city and searched them on Instagram. Their photos looked so appetising and had to test how the food really taste... and the breakfast was so good! We tasted the Pom bowl and board and a couple of teas and I really recommend them. Perfect if you are looking for healthy, vegetarian or vegan options. I also liked that when we were there a supplier entered and left a box with fresh vegetables (lettuces, courgettes...). The waitress were kind and friendly and the decoration was cool too. They also accept dogs in case you are wondering...
I found this cafe on Instagram and loved their profile, so we went in for a late breakfast. I was pleased with vegan options and chose vegan breakfast board. My hubby ordered mushroom toast which was huge! We felt it was a good value for money overall. The only suggestion would be bigger coffee cups.
Absolutely loved this place. The decor is fab to start with and the crockery matches perfectly. The food is unreal! I had advocado and chilli jam on toast which was a good sized portion and beautifully presented. The breakfast board presentation was like a work of art though which is what my friend had. You must visit this place if you are in Sheffield.
Laid back contemporary snacking that wouldnt be out of place in Australia! And isnt out of place in Sharrow Vale road. Lovely food with loads of vegan options and cheerful customer service. Definitely will be back in the very near future!
