97.7-hectare riverfront park with trails & a nature centre hosting interpretive programs & displays.
Excellent walking trails. Lots of wildlife to see.
Beautiful area to visit!
A beautiful oasis in the city.Dont forget to check out the Nature Centre.
Beautiful park with great path networks. Great place to ride a bike, or take a stroll with your dog, baby, friends or by yourself! Lots of large trees and views of the coulees.
A surprise, this was. There is much to be said about pottery and history here. Worth a look.
One of my favourite places to talk my pup for a walk. Many different routes, both short and long, and its extremely peaceful.
Nice area to go for a walk. The interpretive center staff was very friendly as well. Worth stopping in :)
Enjoy all the paths.very few mosquitoes.
Great place to walk your dog and to go fishing
Lovely quiet place. Had a fab walk
This was a great park to go walking in. It is large and has many different trails, not only for walking but also for cross country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter. The scenery and vegetation is quite nice, you see wildlife such as deer, rabbits and birds. If you are a tree lover, such as myself, you will thoroughly enjoy the different shaped trees, standing or on the ground. There are many benches throughout the park and along pathways for breaks or just to stop and take it all in, this park also has public washrooms which is always a plus with a long walk and lots of water drinking 😉. I look forward to visiting again next time I am in Medicine Hat!
I am a lover of nature and this place rocks for me. The nature walk was excellent. The scent of SAGE made the area delightful, restful, relaxing. If you have an hour to spare, go here
Really nice paths. I find during sunset or even in the dark these paths are more beautiful. Cool wildlife as Well during the evening.
Great place with lots of trails(off&on road). Great for kids&pets! Very beautiful
Beautiful place to walk...run...bike ect....lots of trails!! Paved&off road!! Great view of river&wildlife!! My family enjoys it alot and were from pei....thanks medicine hat..cheers
Great walking paths that take you to unexpected places and are longer than you think. The interpretative centre also runs some awesome programmes.
This park is an incredible place to go and enjoy nature and just take it all in. The photo opportunities are always in abundance and they quite often have nature events going on within the park.
Quiet place and nice surroundings. I would recommend to anyone..
This place is so beautiful 😍. Definitely a MUST visit to anyone in or out of Medicine Hat. All the pictures you see in the reviews...this place is all that and more. You can start by visiting the nature centre and leave some donation if you like . Then you just enjoy a great walk with an awesome view.
Last week we went on a butterfly walk with an interpreter and this week...GOATS!!!The interpretive centre is clean and the staff are very knowledgeable!
The most beautiful place in Medicine Hat. You can get lost here and enjoy nature in any weather. The paths are all safe for biking in the summer, and there are off trail routes for mountain biking or cross country skiing.Police Points visitor center has great exhibitions that change monthly, and has awesome staff who can answer questions about the park.
The park has great paths with some off route worn in paths for those wanting to explore. Some great river front spots as well. Excellent park for meditative walks or walks with with family.
A favourite place of ours to walk, bird watch and look for other wildlife. Nicely kept trails with benches and garbage cans along the route to rest and dispose of waste. We went down the river bank this time and walked around the island. Very quiet and serene this afternoon.
Went fishing with a buddy. Park is great for walking or access to the River. Would have given it 5 stars but the lucky b@5t¥rd outfished me!
Absolutely love these paths and this entire park, right by the water with a hidden homemade skatepark from the young hatters that play there. Dog friendly and so big that you barely run into people except in the parking lot. 12/10 recommend going for a walk here if youre looking to kill time and have a nice outdoor stroll / adventure
Interpretive center staff are really passionate about the park and the wildlife inhabiting it. Programs are running all the time and they have really nice walking paths.
Lovely spot for walking, exploring and hanging out.
This is my favourite city park, by far, and it is the most interactive. Wildlife, painted rocks, story walks, and more!I know a lot of the activities are postponed due to covid but this is an excellent place to get out with your family or loved ones for a walk.
Very large park, good for a walk
Decent place to go for a walk. And see some trees. Can walk up to the river edge.
On a Covid 19 weekday it was not busy and you might get to see some goats...
It seems to be a decent park, well used by locals. There seems to be a good system of pathways for walking or biking. The cottonwoods are beautiful. Unfortunately the toilets were not available when we visited.
Police Point Park Interpretive center had a facelift a year or so ago and it was well worth the wait for the time it was closed. It has a bright, open atmosphere and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable people. If they cant answer your question they will help you find answers in the many displayed books and pamphlets. Its a great place for family activities and getting close to nature! The trails are great for hiking, cycling or for a leisurely stroll. Dont let winter stop you. Strap on some cross country skis and away you go!
Super friendly staff and nice ski trail! Having so much fun😁 Highly recommend.
Beautiful! I love this park the best for taking my puppy for a walk since it has better paths. Theres always new adventures to have and theres lots of river access - boat access for those who need it as well. The paved paths are well maintained BUT just know to be careful when going off those paths. Theres some drop-off over the river and they definitely need to be reinforced, and the odd trees tend to block some of these paths as well (but if yoh dont suffer from mobility issues then you can get around them easily). Theres an off-leash area, not enclosed though so again its definitely for more advanced listeners haha. But all the dogs (and ownersmy pupp and I have met have been wonderful!
Always so pretty. Good walking paths. Kids love taking their bikes around the trail. Good place to see wildlife and do some random tree climbing.
The best area in Medicine Hat for nature walks.
The absolute Serenity... The Fantastic correlation between man and nature... the historical setting... the learning the teaching and the words of wisdom through every path around every corner
Beautiful massive walking trail, could easily get lost but we really enjoyed it.
Went for a bike ride and wound at police point. Was really nice. Hadnt been for a while.
So many great trails, paved and gravel. Great for running, cycling, and walking your dog! Its so magical here. There is river access and lots of heritage trees.
Lovely Sunday morning walk. Borrowed a wheel chair from the interpretive centre as one of our party needed it. Prairie cactus in bloom.
Lovely little riverside country park. This park is bordered on three sides by a meandering bend of the South Seskatchewan river. The bend will eventually become an oxbow lake! The park is semi wooded and has many paths throughout, both surfaced and dirt. There is evidence of beavers felling trees although it looks as if this activity has been "managed" by the authorities! There is a visitor centre with a car park although it was closed during my visit. The park is used by many for activities such as dog walking, cycling and jogging. The perimeter path runs along the bank of the river and provides opportunities to see local wildlife such as squirrels, deer and also fantastic views of the river.
One of our favorite parks in town , easy to find. Nature center is a great place to learn about all the nature surrounding the park along with very informative staff. Park is well kept and trails all over .
Very beautiful and easy to reach
Awsome park! Great fishing spots!
Amazing place to come, wonderful paths with lots of animals and birds around. Nice and scenic with both paved and shale paths to walk. Cross country skiing in the winter. The staff at the nature center are helpful, kind and courteous! Will definitely return!
My family LOVES this park. The park is beautiful with many trees making it almost like a forest feel. Many benches to sit on and shade for the warm days. Beautiful views of the river and some wildlife has been seen. There are numerous paths where you can have a sort walk to a nice lengthy walk. We walk the complete circle around the park with out 3 young kids which takes about 1.5 hrs and is a great way to use their endless energy up and enjoy nature as a family. We regularly go there on weekends. Great for every season too. The interpretive center usually has a story book walk set up for kids where you follow the designated path and along the way are signs with each page of a book to read. Our kids love this and always ask to go on that path first. A great place for familys or even an alone walk or bike ride. Great for pets too. I highly recommend this park.
This park has some very nice walking trails and lots of events going on year round at the interpretive centre. Its beautiful and a great place for going on walk. Some trails are paved, while others are either rock or dirt paths. You can even do things like cross country skiing or geocaching.
Great place for a family walk and you can even see quite a lot of animals as long as you are quiet. The nature center here is great too.
