Point Halswell Lighthouse in Wellington

A small lighthouse but great for photo. There are a few uneven steps to get to the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is closed.

Lovely spot. You can hear the penguins at night. (Or I could in mid may, may not be so obvious at other times of the year)

Thought the lighthouse would be a lot bigger, but was much smaller than expected, but it was so peacful at around sunset. Watching the sun set with the interislander passing by really felt like a relaxing evening. The path to the lighthouse is quite dangerous due to being very close to sea level so, was a shame to not being to approach the lighthouse itself, but all in all it was a great short visit.

Rough track and steps down. Need to take care. Glass and rubbish yet a bin close by.OK to view from the roadside. Car parking there.

Best place to spend some quiet Time with awesome view of Harbor City and Ocean.

Nice bike ride around the peninsula, stop here to take on the views across the harbour.

Great View From There, rveryone should go over there.

Love the course of driving to this place. When the good weather, view of　the blue sea and blue sky are spectacular.

A close attraction to visit if you live in town

Great place for a photo op. The lighthouse is much smaller than what I thought it would be.The walkway to the lighthouse will be partially underwater at high tide.

Good landmark, but nothing much to do there

Famous Wellington landmark. Easy to find and parking within metres of it. Part of the picturesque drive around the bays with many sites and stops along the way. Can get busy at peak times like weekends so get in early if you want the perfect picture.

Not much to see here, photo spot of Wellington across bay. Low tide is best. Has a rubbish bin.

Stop and join everyone else for a breath of fresh air and snap away at the fabulous vistas stretched across Wellington harbour on a fine day. Irs an easy climb down the steps if you wish to take a closer look and more souvenir shots of this Gimli Lighthouse.Drive a little further along and you will come to a photogenic outcrop of rocks that divers and fishermen frequent where you can enjoy more scenic views and also explore the rocky terrain with the fam;ily..

Nice little lighthouse overlooking the Wellington Harbour, we drove down from Weta Cave and this view is amazing.. this is located at the tip of Miramar Peninsula, the sea was calm and it was not windy..Recommended for a short detour when visiting Miramar..

10 minutes drive from Shelly bay. Small lighthouse, a bit more in the ocean rather on a hill but good fun to walk to it in the waters. Most of the times it will be windy but a wonderful sunset and Wellington view.

I cant speak to its effectiveness as a lighthouse, but it looks cool enough. Its nice how you can walk out to it at low tide

Provides great panoramic views of the city. Is a great spot for photographing during sunrise and sunset, as well as astro shooting.

The walkway to the lighthouse can be dangerous because of waves but it is a nice and easy drive to here
