Plus Nine Four in Colombo

Quiet cafe, the tables are in nooks for a very secluded, intimate experience. Lots of greenery. Try the mushroom burger. Vegetarian, tastes brilliant.

Went there today after sometime and it was quite disappointed with the food. Had scrambled eggs sauted mushrooms and hollandaise sauce with pol sambol. Sad to say that it was all pretty bland and did not taste good at all. I have had much better here and enjoyed the food as well. I am not sure what had changed. Menu doesnt have much choice on food as well.The food is pricy and even after I complained about the food, there was no offer to offer another dish or provide a discount. In that sense I wouldnt say the service is good either. The stars are for the ambience.

If your going there for Eggs Benedict, prepare to be disappointed. A sad and lonely single poached egg, on a bed of sweet dry Pol sambol over a wafer thin slice of Sour dough Bread(+chicken bacon ). For Rs.1300 youd think it would be a tad bit more generous and flavoursome. relaxed ambience tho

Awesome place !! Very quiet and nice ambiance at a peaceful location. Service is really good and professional. Their menu items are a bit few but with enough variety, also dont be confused, they do the ones in the menu to perfection. Highly recommended.

The ambience was the best part. Seating capacity is less, also I didnt see many variety of food in the menu, but what ever they gave was awesome. Average prices, worth for money. Small place with such a wonderful services and cleanliness.

I went in for a few refreshing drinks with a friend and the drinks were crazy good and refreshing with reasonable prices. My friend ordered Coffee and when it was brought to us, its aroma was so familiar, it was Soul Coffee so I was so happy on that too! Staff was absolutely friendly and great service. Thank you

The food and coffee are just okay. Cute spot though. Their sister spot, Cafe Kombok is much much better...

Its small. The staff is nice. The food is great. But they took too long to prepare our food for us. So if you are going there for your lunch break from the office, bare in mind that you might be waiting for some time.

The food was excellent .considering we had ordered only vegetarian dishes the quality and consistent and the flavours were spot .Kudos to chef Madhu. The dessert cheesecake was a little dry and lackustre an indication that the sweets could be enhanced . Minimal ambiance, seating and parking . The bummer is they close early at 5pm so forget dinner.

Really calm atmosphere here. Small but peaceful place. offers some healthy options and if you go there after noon; you will update the full menu. For breakfast we ordered below shown dishes and there were ok. Not amazing or anything just OK. That doesn’t mean food is bad but the dishes for morning are small in number. But they are healthy which I dearly appreciate but my girlfriend doesn’t 🙊

Great place! The coffee was excellent, the service very kind and the food was delicious. We had sourdough toast with avocado and mango salad, we added eggs and it was great breakfast 👍🏽

We had bacon& eggs benedict, choco smoothies and americano in there and all of them were delicious. The prices are reasonable. The cafe is cute and and the staff is kind. Recommended.

Clever design, relaxing atmosphere, smart menu.

Love this little cute place, food is current and full of flavour, drinks are very unique, some also spicy love that! The interior design is super cool. Highly recommended

My first visit to Plus Nine Four. We ordered a gingerade and a cold mocha. The cold mocha was good but the gingerade was disappointing. The soda was completely flat and had no fizz. It would have made a huge difference if it was fizzy and had ice.For food, we ordered the sourdough toast with poached egg, bacon and coconut sambol and the sourdough toast with spicy shrimp and scrambled eggs. The were both delicious. However, the coconut sambol wasnt made out of fresh coconut. But overall, the taste was good.For dessert, we had the white chocolate cheesecake with passion fruit coulis. Taste was great but wish the texture was a bit more softer. The passion fruit coulis complimented the cheesecake brilliantly.Overall experience was good. The staff was nice and friendly. Helped us move inside due to rain. Checked how the food was and engaged with us as needed. Will surely visit again.

The atmosphere is lovely and the staff is super friendly but the food wasnt that great. I went in the afternoon it was warm and stuffy before long I was a bit uncomfortable .

Plus Nine Four is a really wonderful place for coffee and good food and conversation. Set up as a very cosy place it has its own charm. The seating arrangement is very nice and comfortable and ensures a level of privacy. Come for breakfast or a late lunch or just to enjoy the view and hospitality. The coffee and the food are really good. Worth a visit.

One of the best cafes sri lanka has to offer. Beautiful place and absolutely love the food. Only issue is that it gets full pretty fast so always make a reservation before heading out to this place. Wish you all the success in the world and cant wait to come back soon..

Love the ambience. The service was good too. The food was good, the chicken enchiladas was flavoured right, the tortilla was crispy and the salsa and guacamole was good too. The hot butter mushroom was good but was expecting more flavour. The cake was soft and had the right sweetness but had a little taste of the refrigerator odour. Overall we had a good meal. Will go back again.

The place isnt very big but its well thought out, Such a cozy place away from all the Colombo hustle bustle . We had the below two . Both were really good and nothing to complain about the service as well . I will definitely go back .

Food was really good. Coffee was not so good. Service was good. Pricing was acceptable for what was served.Seating however, (except for one or two cushioned box chairs and a sofawas exceedingly uncomfortable. Its almost like they dont want you to stay for any length of time.Change the seating to something more reasonable and you have the perfect little gem in the heart of Colombo.But seriously - Change the Uncomfortably Hard Chairs!!!

Good coffee, good food and relaxed atmosphere.we tried the banana bread with strawberry and nutella. Also coffee ice cream tart and they were delicious!! The cappuccino in my opinion was more milky (lattébut still great tasting coffee and better than most other places.Happy friendly staff too!

Really had a lovely late breakfast here. The atmosphere of the place is very cool. We sat outside in the walled garden under a Jasmine tree. The coffees were very good and the food was a lovely mixture of Sri Lankan and Western tastes. A definite recommend if youre looking for a nice place to relax, read a book, play some cards and have a nice conversation.

Lovely little cafe with delicious food. Recommend toast with hummus and tomatoes. The coffee is great and they offer a variety of flavors, as well as tea.

Such a beautiful and aesthetic place to dine. Very few spots can have both the standard of food being scrumptious and the atmosphere of the restaurant be amazing. The cool forest vibes in this semi hidden gem makes it worth the visit. And every single dish Ive had is impeccably flavoured. My favourite was the fried calamari with tartar sauce. Yum!

Food and beverage was good. Not easy to find and parking.

The cafe is located in a peaceful environment. Small place but nicely arranged. The food is good. But I feel it is a bit over priced for the portion size you get.Since the place is a big small, it gets congested during peak hours. However good place to have a chat with friends and chill. The staff is friendly and helpful.

@plusninefoursl, we dropped by last month and we got a new experience. Cosy place near the police park. They have out door seatings and its looks a lot like a garden full of trees. 😀I should special mention their dark theme the interior designs and plates and cups as well. And the outdoor seatings are great for food photography. 😎During the holidays this place is quite busy with both locals and foreign crowds. Don’t miss tasting cake in this place. 😋

Good food but they have limited selection until 11.30am , so we ended up having the same dish. Staff was friendly. Can be a little warm outside and not much of personal space due to the small area of the cafe. The brioche looked nothing like a brioche. The ice cream wasnt complimenting as it was to icy. Only plus was the coffee

Enterning into @plusninefoursl , one of the recently opend popular cafe for casual dinning and coffee in colombo, which is also the sister cafe of @cafekumbuk @soulcoffeelk . The whole ambience gave me all sort of aesthetic vibes. It was almost raining and I was hungry as well. I ordered their Chemex Drip Coffee (rs. 450which came in a pot alongside with a piece of milk toffee was just enough for more than two people. Eventhough it was a regular coffee I enjoyed every sip, well worth for price. Their Chilli Prawn Linguine Pasta (rs. 900was not so satisfying. Broiche French Toast (rs.1000served in a delectable way with caramelized banana, pot of honey, sprinkled nuts and kiri toffe ice cream on top was definetly a winner. All prices are exclusive of 10% service charge.Overall this is a chilled out cafe to sip on a good coffee over a good conversation.

A house turned cafe, Plus Nine Four is a very homey place where you can either go with your friends and family, or by yourself to enjoy a great variety of teas, coffees, foods and deserts. Friendly staff and cleanly surroundings, plenty of natural ventilation and light. A majority of the items on menu are below Rs.1000 which, in comparison to other cafes such as this, is a pleasant surprise. Would recommend definitely.

none of the sourdough dishes or the croffle was that great. the coconut sambol was made with dessicated coconut and the food was bland and totally not worth the price at all. the drinks werent that great either. probably not ever coming back sadly.

Went to this place for some lunch. First time visiting the place which is located in a pretty good area. Small place but it’s laid out pretty well. The food was really nice. Not much to choose from but there is a lamb dish which I had that I can recommend to anyone. Happy to see that they are using reusable straws which indicates they are thinking about sustainability. I think that’s something everything should think about. Good job Plus Nine Four for taking the initiative. Prices are also reasonable.

The perfect secret spot for a chilled breakfast, lunch or coffee in stylish, secluded and relaxing surrounds. Somewhere you can enjoy a quiet chat and feel at ease. Inventive menu with delicious food and very efficient service. Love this place!

Place is really nice. With great menu which has items for vegeterians. Latte on coconut milk was great!

The brioche French toast with milk toffee ice cream here is to salivate for.. Love it there.. the rest of 5he menu is good too. Always going back.. went today as well to try a dessert out. One of my fav breakie spots :)

When I entered the restaurant from the gate I felt like it as a small and I will have to turn back and might have to look for another place to dine. But when I entered from the main door it was just wow. There were seatings in the garden and inside too. (I prefer the seatings inside more)Staff was friendly and welcome us warmly. Place is clean and tidy.Menu doesn’t have much options but hope in Tyre they would add more.Still you can find something great in the menu.Food is fresh and price is reasonable.Staff makes sure to serve us well and they answered all the questions we asked about the menu.That’s mean they know very well what they serve. ( plus plus plus point from me)

Bought myself a Latte which was sub par. Had more froth than a Cappuccino would have!Atmosphere however was brilliant for reading a book and putting your feet up!

Easy parking down the road. Casual atmosphere. Its indoor seating is open to the outside and theres some comfy seating available. The menu had quite a combination of dishes. Try the achcharu drink, was quite nice. Must go again to try their variations of food.

Nice cafe. I particularly liked the outdoor seating, which is surrounded by greenery and is very cool even in the hot Sri Lankan sun.The cafe is a venture by the same team that is behind Cafe Kumbuk and Kumbuk Kitchen.We had the Smoothie Bowl, Fluffy Cheesecake and Strawberry Mint Lemonade. The smoothie bowl was pretty good, but the cheesecake was somewhat lacking in taste. Presentation of both dishes were pretty well done.The Strawberry Mint Lemonade was refreshing and perfectly blended, although I wish there was a little more of it at the LKR 550 price point.All in all, I liked the experience. Preparation can take a little time, so this place is perfect if you’re planning to have a very relaxed meal or a fairly long meeting.

By the team that brought you Cafe Kumbuk, Plus Nine Four is it’s newest cafe. Centrally located, this cafe is lovely for a coffee and a book. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and the food and drinks are a solid 10/10! Coffee is by Soul Coffee so it’s high quality - Food is lovely with creative dishes on the menu. I’d say drop by in the afternoon!
