Plumb Point Lighthouse - Historical landmark in Spanish Town, Jamaica
С 1853 года, второй по возрасту маяк Ямайки.
no public allowed, but one can walk around . No going up the light house stairs anymore, but a safe and quiet bay that is beautiful always. frequented by surfers who ride waves at the east point of the bay. Swimming not advisable . only fir the seasoned open water swimmer who understands currents and waves.
beautiful lighthouse, isnt it? lets see if you can find this one too, have you spotted the pattern yet? unlikely...
Just a beautiful scenery to be a part of
Its lovely to see the sun set here. Standing there with the ocean behind and this massive tower in front of you, it makes your problems seem quite small for a moment. I always find it calming being here. Only thing I dont like is the shoreline is littered with garbage. Notwithstanding some solar panels that are in disrepair, the lighthouse seems well-kept. I love to see the view from the top.
Rich historical value
Constructed in 1853, the Plumb Point Lighthouse is still active & stands on the Palisadoes peninsula near the entrance of the Kingston Harbour. The tower stands at 70 feet (21mtall & is built of stone and cast iron. It flashes a brief white light every 8 seconds and is visible as far as 25 miles away at night.
