парк Скобелев парк, 5804 Skobelev, Pleven, Bulgaria, Pleven
This museum features a panorama depicting the Liberation of Pleven in 1877 & a rooftop viewing area.
An amazing display/ panoramic recreation of the battlefields of Pleven during the Rusko Otoman war for the freedom of Bulgaria, very graphic and very moving, it presents almost live action in 3d, a must visit place.
An Art MasterpieceOnce inside youll know
Needs tear loving care. The building and the surroundings can be maintained a bit more. Huge improvements needed.
Amazing display history of the war for liberty.
Interesting history place.
Liked it. Its good to be seen.
It could be more interactive and interesting 🤔
Its ok place to visit. It depicts one of the battles in the 4 th Russo- ottoman war. The 4 Russo ottoman war is when Bulgaria was liberated. Place it self its a bit old. The dont take card ,only cash and only lev, so its not really a tourist friendly place
Something very beautiful and interesting. As a history and as a lesson. I think all the Bulgarians must visit the place. And not only.Still there is a lot that can be done around the Panorama - there is no any shadow in a summer or s shelter in a rainy day.
Really awesome to visit in case you are interested in Bulgarian history and culture! English support is also available, albeit a bit pricey, so you might want to translate yourself. Otherwise the tickets are quite affordable and the experience is definitely worth it! Recommended for sure!
Only saw it from the outside but still OK as we walked around the park.
Unique experience of war of 1877 between Russia and Otoman Turkey.
Extremely boring if you don’t know Bulgarian
Paintings of the war between ottoman occupied Bulgaria and Russian army who rescued
Amazing!
Quite monumental art, great work has gone into it. I appreciate the people who had fight in the war, but its important to destinguish them from the russian and otoman empires ambitions and political goals. Also, the tactics were doubtful not even regarding the troop lives as a factor as is so characteristical for russians.
Easily the best museum in Bulgaria. The massive panorama building is drenched with history.Get the tour guide. Theyre knowledgeable and tell you very interesting facts about the 5-monty siege of Pleven. And dont forget to marvel at the gorgeous paintings inside.Enjoy!
Loved if
Absolute treasure! Great place to visit for fans of history and specially for those that love military history and weapons. Cant recommend enough. Also by luck got the chance to visit the place free of charge today and was able to take pictures without restrictions (I was only asked to turn off the flash).
Museum built on the anniversary of the victory over the ottomans in 1977. Interesting panoramic view of the battle of Pleven on the top floor. However, lacking content.
An amazing opportunity to learn about one of the key moments in Bulgarian history. The scale and the masterly done panoramic views are depicted in a truly memorable way.
Definitely you should visit it. My advise is to pay for guide
Its one of the 7 panoramas in the world. If youre in Bulgaria why not visit one of them. Im from Pleven and visiting it every couple of years is still interesting. The guides are very knowledgeable and could answer every other question you may have related to this topic of the history and the artefacts placed there.
An exciting historical place!Every self-respecting Bulgarian should visit this monument in Pleven and learn more about the history of Bulgaria!
I dont really like to remember that all that happened, so really, speaking just from an artwork perspective, the inside is amazing. Very good representation and expositions. Didnt make it to the top to view an actual panorama, which I expected to be a part of the journey, but.... There is also a collection coin, not a great quality, but a good memory.
This is one of the greatest monuments of Bulgarian and Russian bravery! Here our ancestors gave their lives for our freedom amd Bulgaria to exist again! Attention! Eternal glory for the heroes!
A really must see place in Pleven. Tours are scheduled every half hour. Strongly recommend guided tour it is not expensive at all, especially if you split it with rest of the visitors in the group.
Beautiful place, showing the history of the region. Well maintained and organized. There are tours with a guide every half an hour. There is a free parking on the side of the building. The exhibits are also handicap accessible. The price to get in is reasonable, there is additional fee, which must be paid if you would like to take pictures on the third floor. Once you get to the top floor, the real experience begins; there is a 360 view of a real battle field with war items everywhere. Whats really amazing is that the real items and the battle field merge with the walls, which are painted as an extension of a distance view. It is done in such a way that it creates a surreal sensation. I highly recommend visiting this place, it is definitely worth it!
A museum for a battle in 1877. Has some weaponry and a guided tour explaining that history. But the panorama painting is amazing. I am not a fun of paintings. But this one was unique. 360 painting with a depth sensation. I spent 30 minutes there just admiring. The price is reasonable. If you are around its a must see..
We visited the Panorama with a group of 25 Spanish tourist, they were amazed by the beautiful details of this master piece. It was my first time there as well and I highly recommend you to take the chance and visit this place which represent an important part of the Bulgarian history.
Very thoughtfully designed monument. Battle panorama gives realistic feeling.
An impressive monument to the battles for the liberation of Pleven and Bulgaria. Must be seen!
Nice historic place, very good for day out and for a walk.
One of the most impressive places to feel the Bulgarian history!
Historic and iconic place in Pleven, so much history there it is amazing. You could see old cannons from the late 19 century used to gain our freedom back from the Otoman empire. There us also a great view and park leading to the Panorama.
Amazing place to see. However the Google navigation gets confused quite often and it directs you to a road that doesnt go to the Panorama?!?! There are no road signs.....the way to find it is not easy....There were others lost too....so definitely the Panorama management or whoever governs it has to do something about road signs!!!!!
The giant 150 metre panorama of the battle of Pleven is truly a masterwork. You find yourself transported in the middle of the battlefield, surrounded by earthworks and trenches, discarded weapons and uniforms, with munitions and cannonballs strewn about. The real elements blend seamlessly with the painting, creating the illusion of 3D as if you’re really standing there. The painting itself is meticulously detailed, with hundreds of soldiers locked in fierce battle, and columns of reinforcements coming from all directions, thousands strong. Everything is recreated in meticulous detail, down to the buildings of the then small town of Pleven down the hill. It’s indeed breathtaking.
Very interesting and a must see if you are in the area. I believe this is a one of a kind memorial to many wars fought on the very ground where it is built. The combination of 360 degrees painting along with 3D area 50 feet before the walls is a surreal experience.
So so so beautiful place! Just real piece of art! You have to see it to know! Highly recommend.
Good place to visit with kids.
Ive been around a bit and Ive never seen something as good as this. Fantastic Bulgarian/Soviet art and atmosphere. Dont miss it. Also my guide took the time to answer my questions in English. Thanks.
Even in the age of 3D and astounding visual arts, this place is breathtaking! You must see for yourselves!
Beautiful place everyone should visit! The story of the fight is incredibly well recreated. Top floor is stunning. The park around is worth giving a stroll.
The Pleven Panorama is a beautiful place that contains a very important piece of Bulgarian history. The painted images of the bloody battles to free Bulgaria from the Ottoman empire allows a glimpse into the past through paintings and memorabilia collected from the period. I highly recommend you visit this place because there is something for everyone.
Very impressive panorama at the top of the tower. It seems you have to go in groups, or I didnt understand correctly. As I was the only English speaking person, I was handed an English transcript of the tour, which is sufficient. Entrance fees are small, so its well worth the visit. Also, the walk down towards the city is nice as well!
Very good and interesting plaace and they know English
If you visit in weekend prepare yourself for pensions groups that talk louder than anyone, push everybody to be first to see... Disappointed to visit in weekend! In advance theres no road signs for location of panorama anywhere in town - only in one of roads to panorama, if you doesnt know the road you can easily lost
This place is the main symbol of our town. It holds history and it became history as a building. The museum is one of a kind and its a must see destination when you are in the north side of Bulgaria. The amazing 360 degrees main hall is breath taking. I can assure you, that you have never seen so complex mixture of art, real historic pices and decoration in just one place. No matter how many pictures and videos you would see online - they cannot be compared to the glory of this museum. Its the real deal.
A very valuable place both for the history of Bulgaria and for the history of Russia and Romania. A vlach guide met us and she told us in romanian language about the Siege of the Pleven. There was also a very nice and realistic panorama with a 360° paint with the Siege of Pleven. I recommend everyone to come and visit!
A historic site that remembers the final battle for freeing Bulgaria from Turkish slavery. Inside the monument you can see many pictures of that time and the top floor has a panoramic 360 degree retroduction of the battle. A mix between real objects and a picture. You cant tell where is the boarder! Thursday it was free entrance when i was there the last time.
